Hidden gem alert!!! The food... THE FOOD... THE FOOD. Seriously, I can't say it enough--the food at The Third Place is incredible! I've been here 3-4 times now, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. That's hard to find! Everything we've tried has been delicious, and I love that they even have mocktail options for my daughter so she can enjoy the experience too. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. The staff is wonderful, the ambiance is beautiful, and the upscale décor makes the whole experience feel special. I honestly feel like this place is a hidden gem because of its location. I would definitely recommend checking this spot out before Coach's Tavern. This place is amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. It was so good that I completely forgot to take pictures because we started eating right away! We started with a French baguette served with honey butter and olive oil for dipping. Both paired perfectly with the bread and were incredibly flavorful. For our entrées, we ordered the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and the herb honey-crusted chicken on a brioche bun. Both dishes were outstanding and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant, peaceful, and welcoming. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back! read more

This place is lovely..food was outstanding....It was a birthday dinner and we came from out of town. Here lies the problem...We had a reservation- 7 in our group..we knew there was an automatic 18% gratuity/we were good with that. I guess when you automatically get an 18% you don't have to put any effort into that table. Our waitress didn't go any further than taking our order. Never saw her till I waved her down for refill on drinks and to order desert, never cracked a smile and she seemed put out. I'm a good tipper but I would rate her effort at 5 cents... read more

Wish I would have taken some pics. Great food great beers great service. Low key dinner with the FIFA cup on the screens and not any ruckus. They have a wide variety of whiskeys, but seeing I was on a work trip I didn't partake. I had the Bahn Mi which was delicious with thick cut fresh jalapeño and great crispy steak on a perfect crunchy roll. Buddy got the mushroom risotto and roasted cauliflower tacos which looked great and must have been because they were gone in minutes, minimal minutes... like 3! The atmosphere and hospitality is exactly what I look for in a restaurant. Dim enough to feel relaxed but not too dim where it feels like you need to work really hard to see anything, plus simple and elegant decor. The staff was so kind and attentive. The food was unique and we tried and enjoyed a few different plates. Cauliflower tacos great! Bar staff great amd attentive, but management??? Nope I recently visited this bar and witnessed interactions from one of the owners that left a negative impression. I completely understand that management has every right to address concerns such as employees potentially drinking on the job. If that was the issue, it is a legitimate matter that should be handled. However, the way it was addressed appeared unprofessional and disrespectful. The owner, a bald gentleman, stood behind the bartender while a drink was being prepared and confronted the employee in front of others. Later, he called over a female employee and pointed toward his office in a manner that felt more appropriate for disciplining a child than speaking to an adult employee. I do appreciate that he chose to continue the conversation privately rather than on the floor, but the tone and manner in which he directed her were unnecessary. Leadership is not only about enforcing rules; it is also about treating employees with dignity and respect. Respect should go both ways regardless of position or title. From what I observed, there seemed to be an arrogance in the way employees were spoken to, and it created an uncomfortable atmosphere. A business can have high standards and still treat its staff professionally. Hopefully management reflects on how interactions with employees are handled, because the way staff are treated often says a great deal about the establishment as a whole. read more

Great place to have a quality bite if ever you're around antelope valley. Here for work. Recommended by a local. I ordered the seasonal menu of braised lamb shank. I can't pass up lamb. The consistency was perfect. Meat fell off bones but not excessively soft. It sat on a bed of white beans which gave it another twist to the whole meal. The taste of the meat needed a little more gusto, a little more umami I should say. But was good overall. I was happy with it. In fact I am here again today to order it again but they are out of it. I've been here a few times and it's always pretty good as far as the food and then service. The reason I am leaving this three star review is because of the CHOCOLATE MOUSSE. There was NO chocolate mousse. It was 90% whipped cream. It was the most deceiving chocolate mousse I've ever encountered. There was so little chocolate mousse in it one could barely call it a chocolate mousse. I usually would not leave a review like this but there was so little chocolate mousse it was frightening. My husband and I love this place. This is our go-to "healthy-ish", fun and delicious dinner or lunch spot. I am always looking forward to their seasonal menu items. Our staples include the Brussels Sprouts Salad and Tomato and Beet Salad ( trust me). The level of detail placed in composing a dish; crispy quinoa, cranberries, almond slivers... I want to love this place but just about everything is a little off. The staff isnt quite but borders on rude, especially at the bar. The menu items read well on the menu but of the menu items I've tried only one time one dish was notable. The place, food and service aren't horrible, it's open till 10:00 and it's very near the AV Hospital, tucked away in a large, scrappy strip mall situation All that said, it seems popular and is cute inside but I won't be going back. read more

Third Place is lovely. It's got great ambience and decor. Good for dates and girl's nights out, even took the kiddos here. Their food is of good quality and flavor, and so does their cocktails. Always get the mussels and/or the wings- they will not disappoint. The steak was cooked to perfection, however it doesn't really have a side, you've got to get it a la carte. This week I traveled to Lancaster CA, while in town we stopped by The Third Place. From the outside it's very unassuming, but once you are inside you find a very clean, esthetically pleasing spot for a drink or great meal. We ordered three dishes, all were very well prepared. I tried the fried chicken sandwich. Great tasting bun, good size chicken breast, with pickles and red pickles onions, a very nice touch, I loved the wedge fries that came with my meal, my brother ordered the house burger, he mentioned that it hade a great tasting bun and meat patty. His girlfriend ordered the airline chicken lemon herb pesto with some roasted pistachio carrots and potato purée. All the dishes were very tasty and were good sized servings. We finished off our meals with a few drinks the mule, old fashioned and smoky the bear. All were amazing. Everyone was very nice and engaging. We will return. read more

We will never go there again. My wife and I went there last night looking forward to another wonderful meal, with wonderful pleasant service, got to our favorite booth, but didn't even sit down, because the fumes from the nail salon adjacent to the restaurant permeate into and throughout the restaurant. Toxic cancer causing fumes is not what I want to be smelling, or breathing when I'm trying to enjoy a nice meal. Smelling is a big part of tasting. It's shame too. It ruins the ambiance. The odor ruins everything. My wife and I, and everyone we know love the Third Place, the food, the people, the service, but until the landlord gets the ventilation system figured out, we won't be back. What a waste. read more

Hidden gem in Lancaster . I came here on 2/25/25, Leslie greeted us and quickly sat us at our table . She went over the menu with us. As our appetizer we ordered the sticky wings and they were delicious. Our meals were well prepared . With good size servings. The cocktail I ordered was on point that I ordered two. We had staff check up on us to make sure we did not need anything and our drinks/ water were also refilled. The restaurant is clean , beautiful decor . Nice cozy ambiance. Came here to celebrate my 60th bday with friends. Waitress did not want to be at work. Bottom line. She was very rude, acted a bit bothered by us. Food in the past has been wonderful. Our order was mixed up, no big deal, we got through it. Food was bland, French fries lacked flavor and the steak was over cooked, but we didn't complain. When someone in our party mentioned it was my bday, the waitress loudly said, We don't do birthdays! Sadly, it was the Third strike. We won't be going back. We've been three times for lunch and enjoyed each time. Refreshing atmosphere, especially in the A.V. We split the mussels and a burger the first time. Nicely cooked burger and potato wedges. Mussels were so good, my husband wanted to come for them again. The second time I had the ancho fish tacos. Beautiful construct-it-yourself tacos. Happy to eat the fish on its own or in one of four small blue corn tortillas. Lovely salsas, and the pickled onions were a surprisingly tasty addition. Third time I had the onion galette, which tasted good, but was soggy on the bottom, which was a bit disappointing. Also, $8 for three pieces of a baguette with a lovely olive tapenade seems a bit steep, but my husband wanted more than the single slice that comes with the mussels, which he is hooked on. Looking forward to returning at a time of day when I can try one of their intriguing seasonal cocktails. Very happy that The Third Place is here! read more

Ok folks I finally tried it! I'm here at third place and enjoying the dining room and bar and service so far. Negroni made well and with the nice ice cubes... the fish tacos are amazing and creative. They are served as a filet and you pretty much build your own. Ingredients are very fresh and flavorful. This isn't the fish tacos you get on the street but still relatable enough to appreciate if you are a regular fish taco person. Definitely did not disappoint! Had the fried chicken sandwich too and it was good as well, crispy and had a touch of honey. I'm definitely putting this place on the list for upscale lunch when in town! read more

Let's check off the key things on the list: Service 5 - due to both the excellent service provided by Jackie, other wait staff, and very good bar staff. Food 3-5 - we've had mixed experiences, but mostly very good. There aren't any off menu requests accepted. One cannot replace ingredients. One can only remove specific items from a menu choice. Don't even ask. Apparently the chef's policy is absolute. Ambiance 4-5 nicely decorated and designed. Has a high end feel that is unusual for the AV. So why the 3 stars? One single experience. My wife asked the server (Jackie) if it would be possible to get a side of sauteed mushrooms. She said probably not as it's not permitted by the chef. We asked to speak to the manager to express our disappointment. When Jake showed up, before we uttered a word, he stated that it's just something they don't do, so no to our request. Then he turned and walked away. There was no dialogue. It was a one way conversation. In essence, we and our request were dismissed. The experience was incredibly off-putting. It was unnecessary to respond to a patron's request in that manner. Totally unacceptable. I write this review to memorialize the experience for others, because it won't matter to the owner/chef/management. It seems, judging by their total lack of response to other reviews, good or bad, that it really doesn't. Typical dinners we've had run a tab of $150-200 (including tip). We have visited 1-2 times a month for the past two years. We have brought friends and family on several occasions, generating additional per-visit revenue for the restaurant. Again, this doesn't seem to matter. So, sadly, we're going to have to take a leave of this place. Too bad really. read more

'A "third place" refers to a social space outside of the two primary places in a person's life: "first place" (home) and "second place" (work), essentially acting as a neutral ground for social interaction and community building; the term was coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg in his book "The Great Good Place".' We decided to try The Third Place in Lancaster after reading several highly rated Yelp reviews. Normally, we stick to restaurants we know and love, where the quality matches the price--especially since dining out has become so expensive. I don't mind paying a high price for my meal when the quality, presentation, and overall experience are worth it. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. The restaurant is located in a shopping center, which is fine--we've been to plenty of great spots in similar settings. Inside, it's clean and nicely decorated, but the atmosphere felt cold, not warm or cozy. The staff was friendly and seated us quickly. We ordered a Bloody Mary, which just wasn't to our taste. When we asked for lemon, we were referring to fresh lemons, but the waitress offered lemon concentrate instead, which was off-putting. Our bill came to $215.16 , which I wouldn't mind paying at a true high-end steakhouse, but the quality of the food here didn't justify the price. The presentation was nice, but the flavors and execution were not up to par for what we paid. In the end, this just isn't a place we'd return to. We've been there, tried it, and can say honestly--it's not for us. read more
