MAXDONS! 100% consistent 100% of the time. The service is always exceptional. (Please tip accordingly, the girls bust their booties keeping everyone happy) The quality of the steak is exceptional and the cook is always perfect. My husband and I always order medium rare and we have never been disappointed. Jalapeño mac n cheese - 10/10 recommend you try it! Salad bar is always fresh and well stocked. The place has the coolest decor and the best vibe. I've seen people dressed up for a date night as well as people in shorts (me) and both fit the vibe of Maxdons. Love this spot and we will continue to go back time and time again!

Really cool place with stylish decor, amazing food, and good vibes. A bit pricey, but worth it.

HUGE steak salad. Very tasty

This is a bar, but we always come here for the food. This time I ordered the steak salad and it was massive! Service is also very attentive and it's super dimly lit. Overall, a good vibe you could eat well have a lot of drinks and there's always a story to tell!

Favorite local dive bar. My favorite spot for a salad and cheeseburger. The staff are all super nice and friendly.

A Hidden Gem with a Heartbeat from 1973: Maxdon's Bar & Grill in Lancaster Walking into Maxdon's Bar & Grill on Avenue I is like stepping into a time capsule. This place is alive, still beating with the same warm heart it has had since 1973. The same owner, the same vintage charm. And you can feel it the moment you walk through the door. My server, Shannan, has been working there for 20 years. Twenty years! That kind of loyalty doesn't just happen. It's a reflection of good people running a good place. A place where community still matters and where the staff are treated like family. You can taste that goodness in every bite. Now, let's talk about the food. I've been on a quest, wandering Palmdale and Lancaster in search of the perfect hamburger. And finally, the journey led me here, to this unassuming gem with a grill that sizzles right out in the open, next to the seating area. As I settled in, something smelled so good it made my mouth water. I didn't realize right away that the wonderful scent filling the restaurant was my very own burger, cooking just steps away on the open grill. Real fire. Real food. Real flavor. The burger? Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. It took me back to when food was simple and honest. They even have a salad bar and a soup bar, and everything tastes fresh. Maxdon's is not just a restaurant; it's a Lancaster treasure. It is the kind of place you want to bring your friends, your family, and your memories. I came in looking for a good burger, and I left with a favorite new spot that I'll return to again and again. I'm proud to say I'm now a forever customer.

Paloma, which wasn't tasty.

The food wasn't too bad. The drinks were terrible, even the Coca-Cola I had was flat ! The service was mediocre at best. Ambience wasn't all that great either to tell you the truth. I had to hear an old lady yell about every problem she ever had. We finished our food and left promptly.

I've been in for a table for 2, a birthday celebration with 11 others, and everything in between. They knocked it out of the park every single time!! The restaurant was way over booked. We got seated 45min after our reservation time. That should of been enough of a sign. But it kept on getting worst. There was a crazy amount of people both inside and outside. We were very disappointed with the food. Look at the pictures before you go. Even the pancakes were hard and burnt, eggs overcooked what restaurant gets that wrong! We had to wait in a line to get to the food only to have to wait for clean plates. We had such a bad experience. We left decided to eat and have drinks at another restaurant on the boulevard after. I called to speak to the manager, but haven't received a call back. Don't waste your money !!!!!!

You get 6 potato skins served with sour cream and Ranch dressing. These were hot and very good. We both ordered the 15 oz New York Steak. He ordered his medium and I ordered mine well done. I confirmed that I could get it well done (no pink) without it being burned. My husband ordered broccoli and baked potato for his sides. I ordered au gratin potatoes and the vegetable of the day which was corn on the cob. I ordered the sugar free Dr. Pepper and my husband a cocktail. The drinks were good. My husband's meal was excellent - a good Father's Day meal. Mine was a disaster. The steak came out very pink (which after returning to the kitchen came back still pink on one end and burnt on the other. The au gratin potatoes were lukewarm and the corn on the cob was not even warm enough to melt the provided butter. They offered to cook me another meal but by then my husband was done. I can't understand how one meal can be so good but the other a disaster. The manager did come out and took $25 off the bill which I appreciated but I told her it was not necessary. The value, had my dinner been okay, was very good. If we could give 1/2 stars I would have given a 3 1/2.

It's basically a wine gastropub with New American Cuisine that has worldwide influences. Inside is pleasantly furnished with plenty of wine bottles on multi level display shelves to set a wine lounge atmosphere. I sat at the bar for informal noshing. I'm a sucker for "Buffalo" burgers which are actually Bison. The Tombstone sliders are meaty, moist, lean with gooey, melted, apple wood smoked cheddar cheese, soft, caramelized, sweet onion, slice of roasted tomato & Dijon mustard Aïoli (ah ee oh lee). Arrugula leaves mentioned in the menu was missing in action. Very tasty and 2 for $15 in our inflationary times of 2025. Got a glass of house red wine that went well with the Bison sliders. Couldn't eat more than that since I ate the humongous Jackfruit Burrito at Modern Tearoom earlier for late lunch. The Complexity menu has a fairly tight menu featuring typical New American hits: Charcuterie, Fromagerie, 10 apps, 12 mains, 10 sides for the mains. Bar seating afforded me a pleasant conversation with an older gentleman who was into formula one racing cars. Staff service is competent, friendly enough & functional, not particularly punctuated by small town charm. 4- stars
