My partner and I absolutely love this establishment. We usually sit at the bar (which is first come, first served), and it's always a great experience. The staff is amazing--fun to interact with, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. Every single staff member we've had the chance to interact with has been pleasant and genuinely happy to help. It really makes the atmosphere feel welcoming and relaxed. This place is often busy. During the week it can be a little slower, but I would still highly recommend making a reservation. If you show up as a walk-in they will seat you if a table is available, but your experience will definitely be smoother if you reserve ahead of time. Parking is easy, and you can order drinks at the bar while you wait. I also love supporting this small, locally owned business. The steaks are, by far, some of the best in LA--especially considering the price, flavor, and portion sizes. Truly a 10/10. Went to Broken Bit for a celebration dinner with a 4:30 reservation. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert, and had already paid our bill while finishing up. At 6:43, while I was taking my last bite of dessert, the owner came over, tapped on the table, and told us they had other reservations waiting. The interaction felt rushed and dismissive, especially since we were clearly wrapping up and had been there for a very reasonable amount of time. We had one and it was still a long wait to be seated- about 30mins, and we did not get a booth as we would have liked- the standalone tables were a bit Spartan. Ambience was decent and they do have a patio with fire pits while you wait. Our party of 3 split a Caesar salad, the Brussels sprouts with aioli, the tomahawk ribeye, and a giant baked potato. Came here to celebrate my birthday after the hubby made reservations to dine here. It was honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had. The inside and outside were so cute and super western loved it. When we walked in we were greeted by the kindest host and we were promptly sat since we had a reservation. Our server was also amazing. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me pick the prickly pear margarita. The margarita was so good that it was not overly sweet and I could taste the liquor as well, a perfect blend. We had the grilled quail and jalapeño poppers as an appetizer and it was the best thing we have ever had. 2 out of the 5 peppers were spicy but honestly can't complain, the quail was rather tasty and super flavorful. We both ended up ordering steak and sides. I had the flat iron steak and my husband had the ribeye steak. We ordered the mash potatoes and lobster Mac and cheese. The flat iron is one of the best steaks I've ever had it was so good it melts right in your mouth. The sides were honestly super delicious. The ribeye was also super tender and delicious. Hate to do this since we had a great server, Anthony. Ironically, salmon was delicious along with the house salad and cheeseburger which is difficult to screw up. However, broccolini orders were all chewy and very salty! Chicken was dry which was salvaged by the heavy sauce. The worst part of the meal was what they are known for....the filet mignon was chewy and overly salty which was unacceptable! Filets are supposed to melt like butter on the palette. We came here for the first time-after living in Quartz Hill for years- and we had heard great things about this place. My husband took me out for my birthday and he made our reservation earlier in the week. When we arrived, the hostess couldn't find our reservation and needless to say, we panicked. After a couple of minutes, she was able to squeeze us in and our faith was restored. Our server, Jaden, was so sweet, engaged and attentive. The restaurant was full at the time we sat down, but he didn't make us feel rushed to order or anything. We got a couple of cocktails, lemon drops, which were divine. We were told that they make all of their own juices by hand and it showed! It tasted so fresh. My husband ended up ordering the Wagyu flat iron filet mignon and I ordered the New York strip, which was aged for 30 days, medium rare. I'm a prime rib girl and I have steaks every once in a while. When I tell you, this is the best steak I've ever had in the state of California, I'm not exaggerating. I lived in Argentina for a number of months, which has the top 4 steakhouses out of the 10 best steakhouses in the world; I've been to both Texas and New York twice, but this steak was superb in terms of its caliber. All of the sides, including the amazing sautéed vegetables and the garlic mashed potatoes, are a la carte, but they were also very good. During our meal, the general manager came out to greet us at our table as well as the chef. I have been frequenting The Broken Bit for a few months now. There is so much good to say about this amazing restaurant. The food: delicious! There is no other place that can serve better food in the AV and surrounding areas. Once you taste the steaks, fish, or any other items, you will be comparing everything else to what you experience here. Ribeye, Tomahawk Ribeye, Whisky Porkchop, Red Fish or Salmon, EVERY SINGLE dish is put together very well and served as great as in fine dining restaurants in NYC. The side dishes such as Brussels Sprouts, Mixed Veggies and Mash potatoes are among the best, tastefully delicious. The cakes are so good, red velvet, butter cake is among my favorites. The Bar: These bartenders are among the best; from Kimmie, Orlando, Andy, Anthony among others serve the best cocktails. You must try their old fashions, even if you are not a whiskey lover. I used to drink margaritas (Cadillacs) until I tried Kimmie's old fashions and Bourbon margaritas (ask for a Rodeo). There is nothing close around here to what these guys can make for you. Dry January? Try some mocktails but honestly, why dry January when you can have an entire wet 2026 :-) When you start sitting at this bar, you meet great people, and it is fun. These people become family for sure. The Service: The best service you can find when compared to the best restaurants in the area. We started sitting in the dining room. Tip: You must make a reservation ahead of time, it books quickly! The servers you start to meet by name, you can't go wrong with Jaden, Jon, Tammy, Ronie or any of the other servers. They always treat you well and make you feel welcome. Don't be surprised to see these servers working at the bar, they are a lot of fun. Then one of the servers came and offered us water, then Kim M came to take our food order and offered us to see the cocktail menu. She was great!! Kim was very nice, she took great care of us even though there was a big party next to us. When making the reservation, they ask if you are celebrating an occasion. This is now the second time we have been here. Birthday and anniversary. I do really like the very small gesture of putting a small sign at our table depending on the event, it is a nice touch. The food has been great every visit, the lamb sirloin was very tender and the whiskey pork chop was unbelievably delicious. So let me start by saying this is a reservations needed spot. The chances of even catching a seat at bar a slim as the bar only has about 20-30 seats tops, but the food is good enough to test your luck!! It's a our first date spot, a I just got a promotion s let's get dressed and get out of the house but not so far away we have to fight traffic We started out with the showcased drinks of the night Cupid's arrow and Love story from the mixologist. Yes, they have mixologists here and all the garnishments are garden fresh. Every pineapple, orange, mints and even the juice in the drinks. We started our evening out with the Hillbilly Brussels sprouts with a bacon aioli sauce appetizer that was so so good (I ordered a side of sauce to spread on my steak) and it was so plentiful I was able to enjoy brussell sprouts with my main course as well. It's a massive Appetizer that maybe 3 people could easily share. We both enjoyed the smaller of the two ribeye steaks which was still 14 ozs. I made sure to indulge both with the aioli and naked with the natural taste of the chefs seasonings so if you're not up to try aioli, the taste is still freaking fantastic. My other side was the lobster Mac n cheese. I must say it was pretty good, creamy and wealthy with lobster it's pricey though @35$. But I say splurge at least one time! For me personally I even had a nice sized lunch the next day that warmed well in my air fryer with a smart finish option. By warming one basket for the sides and the other the steak. The food is normally really good but this time my cowboy steak was just a little bit too well for what I ordered. The flavor was still really good but I ordered medium rare and it came out medium well on the outer parts and medium closer to the bone. My daughter got the kids steak kebab and didn't like it. I tried it and I think it's because they marinade the meat in pretty strong marinade and my daughter is used to plain steak with salt. She also likes it medium to medium rare and we weren't even given an option on the kids kebab it was given well done. What a bummer. We so wanted to like this place as we've heard from locals that it is THE ultimate special occasion spot. Even one of our movers said he celebrated a milestone birthday here and had the best time. We couldn't wait to try it! We are new residents of Quartz Hill and I must say, so far, we've had some awesome food here. Like The Easy Egg cafe, Karen's, Best of Europe(legit Italian hoagies, New Yorker approved), Clasico Tacos(enchiladas and chili verde to die for) etc... our local eateries are on point! I called right when Broken Bit opened at 5 PM. I said I wanted to order for pickup and they had me wait so someone at the bar can take the order. After 5 minutes, someone gets back on the phone then hangs up. I called back and said I got hung up on and the gentleman said it was an accident and apologized. No biggie. I told him it's our first time ordering as we are new residents of QH. We ordered the cowboy burger, kid's cheeseburger, Jalapeño Poppers, poblano grits, and garlic prawns. He said food will be ready at 6. I got there at 5:55. The place which I've only seen from the outside until today, looked so cool on the inside. Love the rustic cowboy vibe. It was packed in there with couples celebrating Valentine's weekend and families having Sunday supper. The hostesses were the best greeters. So attentive as soon as I walked in. They point me to the bar where I would be picking up my food. I go to a lady who is making drinks at the bar. She might be a manager. She looked up at me and asks if she can help. I tell her I'm there to pick up an order. A waiter who heard me tells her he would go to the kitchen and check. While I was waiting, another waiter asked if I've been helped. So far, I'm impressed by the staff. I was told the food wasn't ready but should be out shortly. I say, no worries I will just pay now and wait. I am hanging by the bar waiting for a while until I realized, I waited far too long without any acknowledgment. I walk over to the hostess station/waiting area. I kept looking at the bar so I don't miss someone flagging me down for my food. Now it is 6:20. I've been waiting 25 minutes. I go up to the bar and ask one of the bartenders and he says he didn't see my food when he went to the kitchen. I go back to the waiting area for another 10 minutes. The lack of communication forced me to go up and ask for my food. This time, I asked the barback and he went back and found my food. It was 6:35 when I left the restaurant. It was disappointing to see the bar staff so inattentive when the two lovely hostesses were doing an outstanding job keeping waiting parties informed and apologetic for any delays. The bar could learn a lot from them. Don't ignore your customers who you know have been waiting. All it takes is communication. We got home and seriously, every bite was flavorful and perfectly cooked, making it clear that the kitchen knows what they're doing. However, the experience as a whole was soured by the lack of attentiveness at the bar for my take out order. I ordered at 5 and by the time I got home, it was 6:45. It's a real shame because the food was genuinely fantastic. But the lack of attentive service is what left me feeling kinda funky. Management really needs to step in and address this issue because, with such great food, better service would make this place unbeatable. read more

Went there last night and I love the craft cocktails and the steaks are pretty good. Local establishment that I've been going to for well over 5 years now. 5* for cocktails. I had a dirty goose martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. 5* for support to military and police/fire/ambulance w/ a 10% discount that helps cover the tax. -9* for integrity and truth in advertising. I asked to substitute fries for veggies for a really great cheeseburger that they're known for (1/2 price on Wednesdays too)! I've been trying to go as low carb as possible, so I asked what I could sub the fries for - asparagus was the veggie of the evening. Ok, not my fav, but better than feeling stuffed after mowing down a bunch of fries and then guilty for not eating as healthy as I could. Well, dinner was great, it was tasty like I remember. Asparagus was chewy and they gave me a butter knife to cut it with when it needed a steak knife for sure. Wasn't anything to write home about, but I came there for the burger anyhow. All good. Then I got the bill - cool, military discount - thank you very much! Whoa... wait, what the heck is this? $9 for asparagus? Huh? We didn't talk about that. A "substitution" is just that, I gave you the fries back by not having you make them, in return I get a healthier option. BUT - if you're going to keep the fries, AND charge me extra $$ for a veggie that I didn't REALLY want, it was just healthy, THEN we need to talk about it. It's an integrity thing. So, I went from a long day of travel, craving The Broken Bit's famous 1/2 lb burger, to just being mad that they snuck one by me and were not honest. The server I had was busy, his friend took my food order and put it in the system as a separate charge, but you HAVE to tell people that's what you're doing, or else people write things like this to tell everyone else... I left the restaurant and did not talk with the manager - I was in a rush and the place was busy. I DID leave a note on my receipt though, and even said that it "was not cool" not telling people about charges like that. I'm leaving it to the owner (or manager) to do the right thing. Please just refund my $9 and the tax, and we're good. Or, I can come get it, but that will also cost you and airline ticket for me. Check #44. Again, 5* food and cocktails.
