From the walk in, nobody greeted me. I sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes before i walked up to the counter and ordered my food, to then ask if i could sit in the cafe to eat. As im sitting waiting for my food to arrive. Two new customers walk in of a different skin tone than mine and are immediately greeted and serviced. It's 2026 and that kind of behavior from an eating establishment is unacceptable and wild to experience. Wow. What a way to end a Monday! $7 glass of Merlot from happy hour (4-8 p.m. on weekdays) and a fantastic dinner! Not sure why this place was empty, the food and service was great! We shared the fish and chips and swapped out onion rings for the "chips" and they were bomb!! Made in house not from frozen! Lol We ordered Zucchini, onion rings , and french fries. My husband got a breakfast burrito and my sister and I shared a taco salad. The place is pretty empty.But has a few families around. There is a bar so I'm sure this.Please could get a pretty good crew going. Plaza space for many folks to enjoy. Everything is cleaned up pretty well too I don't see a mess anywhere. Giving a 1 star just because the waiter was very kind, and provided great service. Regarding the food to be honest with you it was just bad. I don't know if the cooks were having a bad day. My friend loves to come here for their crispy Belgian waffles with strawberries, whip cream and bacon. I have to agree with them, it's good. However I would still prefer a Belgian waffle from ihop as I like mine not so crispy. My all time favorite waffles are at First watch. The eggs here didn't taste good and I would skip next time. I used to come here as a kid and remember they had a car coming out of the wall which was very memorable. I think it was Hudson's grill at that time but maybe it was the place before that. read more

I went to Primo's Cafe for lunch. The restaurant was fairly empty and we were quickly sat at a table. The server was friendly, polite, and professional. The restaurant was clean and neat. They had a full bar set up in one corner of the restaurant. However, the Men's bathroom has a distinct sewer smell and was a bit beat up, but it also seemed very clean. I ordered the LA Pastrami Melt Sourdough. Which is a different take on the traditional Pastrami sandwich. It was on Sourdough bread instead of Rye. Sadly, I was not a fan. The pastrami had a different seasoning and the sourdough didn't work for me. The cheese also wasn't melted which is what I expected from a sandwich with the word "melt" in it. On Wednesdays, all pizzas are $11.95. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza. The pizza was actually quite good and had the usual breakfast items including bacon, egg, and cheese. The crust was thin and very tasty. My wife asked if they have a full bar and the server said yes. She then ordered a Tequila Sunrise. When the drink arrived my wife commented that it didn't taste like it had any Tequila in it. When we questioned the server, he admitted that they only have a beer & wine license and the drink was made without real tequila. The drink also arrived warm with no ice in the glass. We then ordered a glass of ice and was able to convert the drink into something half decent. When we got the bill, I noticed that we were charged full price ($15.95) for the pizza instead of the Wednesday Special reduced price ($11.95). When I brought up the error to the server, he corrected the bill and apologized. I am usually a big fan of Primo, but this time they didn't meet the bar. read more

Environment is pleasant with clean and neat in appearance. I ordered the New York steak breakfast and realized excessive presence of connective tissue/sinews. Upon close inspection, i realized that what i was served what resembled eye of chuck. WOW, what a dissappointment and i felt embarrased for this establishment. As a US Army veteran, to me food is food so i pressed on consuming this chuck that was actually well seasoned. All things considered, we will never return to Cafe in Lancaster. I do not like being mislead...cook is either incompetent or this place is made a strategic choice to enhance revenue. I notified food server about the wrong cut and showed her, who discounted meal 10%; however, in my minds eye this motion cant make up for the deception. The cook only makes food to how he believes it should be eaten. I ordered something well done and got something barely cooked. They offered to remake it but said the meat will be cooked the same so I removed it from my order they said give 10 mins and nobody was asked to make my food until 25 mins after. This is my 4th time and I'm sold. The food is good, prices are low, and service is excellent. The menu price for my dinner was $17.95. I paid $25. at a local drive thru for a bacon cheese burger, with avocado, sub onion rings instead of fries and a large iced tea! Is very spacious with lots of windows. Only two stars because the server we had was good. She came and checked on us a couple times. The restaurant had a few tables full. Bathrooms smelled horrible and there was a dead fly in the bathroom sink. I ordered a Shirley temple with extra cherries and my Husband ordered an iced tea. My drink tasted a little off and the cherries tasted awful, like plastic and rancid. We ordered the western bacon cheeseburger with fried zucchini and fish and chips with salad. Been going there for years, they are friendly and personable. For most part the food is good as well. However, these apps like doordash and ordering for pickup puts the customer and the restaurant in a disadvantaged position. We ordered several breakfast burritos and the hash browns inside were overcooked and so greasy they were not edible. Upon calling and letting them know, they apologized but then you're directed to the app and get an offer of like $7 for food you're throwing away. Makes no sense imo I won't use doordash anymore and won't order from Primo for pickup ever again if I'm going to pay to throw food away. Not sure if I'll go there again or not. 1 star for our server. The server Alfre E, was the worse service I've have ever seen. This is the first time in over 10 years I left a $0.00 tip. He came by our table twice in 1.5 hours we were there. He spent most of his time hiding behind the server counter flirting with the other servers. Service was excellent. The chorizo breakfast burrito was so delicious. It was my first time here and the restaurant is kind of like a Dennys or Carrows. It's very spacious with a ton of seating. Their cleanliness isn't at all the greatest, I ordered a hot chamomile tea with honey. The cup was dirty and had left over residue from the previous use. I was able to scrape it off with the spoon gross. If you care about your health I'd stay clear from this place. We went this morning and had the worst experience I've had in a long time in a restaurant. My niece was leaving For the marines boot camp and they ruined our breakfast with her . I wish we would have just walked out. She didn't even get to eat .Total waste of over 100 dollars for food we all had to throw in a too go box, it took so long to come out . We will not be returning ever. Literally took all the other tables orders and went back to refill the coffees before even asking what we wanted . I ordered a chicken club sandwich and one of my sons a beans and cheese burrito and the other one buffalo wings. I wouldn't say was the best ever BUT yes pretty good, nice portions and fair prices. As a high school student, I recall Primo Cafe opening, in a smaller location in the same plaza just next to Food 4 Less. For a year or so, I would get a breakfast burrito in the morning, and after school, like clockwork, get fries and french toast. Primo cafe was the American breakfast and dinner table missing in my life as my mother slaved away as an R.N., and my father slaved as a firefighter to provide for the constant cash flow I funneled into Primo Cafe every school day. Primo Cafe moved locations to what was "Hudson Grill", in the same Valley Central Plaza where the evidence of there being eight parking spots for every car in America is clear. So...parking is abundant. A "Super" Wal-Mart anchors the plaza, making Primo's easy to find, and offering a front-row view of European colonialism's planned poverty outside. Inside Primo Cafe, Primo is a Spanish word meaning cousin... which I always assumed the name to express... ...Cousin Cafe. Sounded, felt, and tasted a lot like family. Primo could also mean "of top quality or importance"... The food has always been good at a great price. And the food is prepared quickly. I've thought for some time, that Primo Cafe could do more with less. And after returning home... to the tables I've come to know and love, view as "home cooking", still serves, for me, too many options... but like Spanish, from Spain, and Cafe, a French word... ...Spanish, French, and English, the language I express this experience... ...all from Europe, unlike myself and the vast majority of great people offering the best dining experience in the Antelope Valley. So, five stars... "great". Knowing what I know about our family, Primo, I cannot say "great", in totality, but "okay"... yeah. I may never know which Primo Primo Cafe is, but to me, they are both. For the company to become so, they'd have to convert to a cooperative, but I digress. For now, I am grateful for the okay fries, the okay french toast, the okay cobb salads, the okay gyros, the okay chicken wings, the okay breakfast burritos, the okay waffles, the okay cheesecake, and so it goes.
