I have been coming to the Lancaster area for many years and had never had the chance to visit Otto's, today I stopped by and had a great breakfast. As you walk in you are blown away from all of the wall and internal decor within every inch of the building including a car booth and Bettyboop statue. They have a bar in the dining area and are very supportive of our troops, you see many signs throughout the establishment. The menu is very ample with many options, I tried the eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. The dish was well presented and more importantly had great flavor. I had the majority of the dish and even had some leftovers. The food was served hot and very quickly. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I would say that the only thing that stopped me from giving Otto's a 5 star was the cost of the breakfast, it was like 27 bucks for two eggs, hashbrowns and bacon with a drink. This will not keep me from revisiting Ottos but just be aware of the cost. I would recommend a visit. read more

Hi , I went here the other day with some friends and as soon as I walked in I loved the decor and ambiance of the place . As I love to go to diners. It had an old school feel to it too . I also loved the car booth that was pretty cool to see . The staff were very prompt in ordering our drinks/food. The food was very yummy too . As I got full fast because the helpings were so big . Early Dinner Visit - Worth the Stop! My SO has been talking about this place for a while, so we finally decided to drop by for an early dinner. Good thing we came early - despite online hours saying they close at 6 PM, they were actually closing at 5 PM. We arrived around 4-ish, and the place wasn't busy. Our server let us choose any table, which was a nice touch. Food: Lemon Chicken with Baked Potato and Side Salad Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Side Salad The food came out promptly. I had requested a baked potato but received mashed instead - didn't make a fuss and just dug in. The portions were very generous; we ended up taking half of it home. The Lemon Chicken was flavorful and cooked well same with Meatloaf. The mashed potatoes could've used a bit more salt, but overall, the meal was delicious. We'll definitely be back to try more items from the menu. The inside has a cool vibe - there's even a car body turned into a dining table, which adds a fun touch. Crazy Otto's is a long established Lancaster haunt. I don't prefer this location because this part of town is rather unsavory. However, the neighborhood is only matched by the unsavory offerings inside. My first breakfast I ordered the waffles. In the 1990s having strawberries and whipped cream was the actual dish- now you have to add $5 more. That takes this dish well over $20z The only breakfast item reasonably processed is the Two egg any style for just at $15. Both my girls ordered from the kids menu, plus 3 drinks- $75 with gratuity included since we were a table of 4 adults and 4 kids . I went again last week. This time I ordered a Denver omelette with added cheese. The food is bland. There is no signature item- homemade jam, hash browns, pancakes- something so unique you can only get it there. Crazy Otto's is famous for big portions. That's it. The food lacks flavor or flair. I look over the menu thinking- I make better eggs and pancakes at home. Do they watch any professional cooks? Add vanilla, cinnamon to spice up pancakes. Throw in ricotta to scrambled eggs. Develop a signature seasoning for the hash browns. I love breakfast places. Every stand out place has a secret ingredient or flavor on the menu. For $20 a plate - I expect the food to be so delicious you want to lick the plate. The coffee is meant for the battled hardened - black, bold with a bitter finish. The grounds are not from any coffee producer that knows how to produce a balanced, smooth coffee. The interior just needs a strong deep cleaning & refresh. There is an air of dingy, run down neglected decor. It's an old building that shows her age against the haphazard way the space is utilized. Yes have eaten lunch and even dinner during COVID. If you want a sandwich- there are 2 very delicious spots I'd recommend in Lancaster. Need a hamburger- there is another local spot I'd recommend- all worth every delicious dollar. Price needs to be proportional to flavor . In this case there is not a single breakfast offering that is worth the price. The food is good. but I will not be going back there ever again! I saw a waitress touching biscuits with her hands and not using tongs. This is not sanitary. Another waitress had very long finger nails touching the inside of my coffee cup. This is a health violation. Crazy Otto's is synonymous with brunch and big servings. It's a go-big or go-home type of spot where you go to get your hearty breakfast/lunch fix. The staff is always friendly and the whole place feels like a family business. My son loves all the different trinkets of route-66 inspired decorations and my daughter loves to look at all the posted photos. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes really. Our favorites are the country fried steak and omelettes but we try to order something new each time. The quality of food is not too bad however the quantity has diminished! It was once the go to place to eat for not only good food but for good company and conversation. It is no longer a home style place to eat! The service is poor in fact it's hard to want to leave a tip for the attitude given by waitresses. To top it off the new owner is a far cry from previous owners in that "Crazy Ottos" are opportunistic charging $1.00 dollar surcharge for any egg ordered! I was charged .50 cents extra on top of the price of the meal for each egg ordered! I was asked if I was okay with the egg surcharge added at a dollar a plate... NO I am not okay with that, furthermore it is evident how Crazy Otto's has fallen away as one of the good places to eat. The portions are no longer larger than average so why go? For me it is no longer a place I choose to frequent, fleecing me for my meal speaks volumes! Sadly I do not recommend frequenting this establishment, other restaurants in the area are not adding surcharges perhaps finding and supporting another business will open Crazy Ottos eyes to consumers choices and their transparency to fleece our wallets! read more

The food is good, service is usually pretty good, but I just left and it cost me $92 (with tip) to feed myself and my 2 girls, one of with is 9 and ordered off the kids menu. We used to be able to have breakfast for $50-$60 at Crazy Ottos, which I still considered pricey for the 3 of us, but it was worth it then. It's no longer worth the price you pay.
