it's pretty gross. they make their omlets in an extremely strange manner. very thin egg, rolled up like a burrito (like...it's rolled up instead of folded over), waaaay overcooked (brown and crispy egg...gross!), they use sliced processed cheese (sick), and the ingredients were way damp and possibly canned. hashbrowns were gross (way overcooked and floating in grease). the toast was okay. they gave me like 4 slices of it. and that's the only redeeming quality of this place. the portions are monsterous. i mean seriously. the omlet said 4 eggs...it was no less than 8. that being said, i didn't take the leftovers because it was gross. the only reason to come here is if you are starving or if you really like fatty gross processed food prepared be someone with no culinary knowledge whatsoever. read more

My Wife and I took my family to Crazy Otto's last night for Dinner and we were all very happy. I got the Philly Cheesesteak for the 2nd time and it was just as good as the first time. My family was amazed at the portions they got and the quality of the food. This was my 4th time at this Crazy Otto's and this place never disappoints. This isn't a place if your trying to eat healthy, but it's a place you go to here and there if you want to just eat some good yummy food with out counting calories. read more

I've been coming to crazy Otto's since I was 14 years old, (a bit over a couple decades now) when the only one they had was by the train tracks!! Now I live in Vegas, but my mom still lives here in Lancaster, and this is a must stop for my family. I come down 4-5 times a year and we eat breakfast here everyday of our trip at Crazy Otto's. I'm not sure what's happened, but our stop was horrible. We ended up leaving before even being seated. We always have a large party (12 people). They refused to seat us until my sister and her 2 kids showed up, which was fine, I understand having the whole party present. Once everyone arrived, we waited 24 minutes, before we were told a party would be leaving and we would get their table. Meanwhile they have other tables in main dining room that easily would accommodate us but they took people who arrived after and sat down a party of 5 and a party of 6 at the large tables. We still waited, after another 15 minutes, I've had enough. Waiting for over half an hour, when it is not busy is not acceptable to me. Of course as we walk out door they run out after us pleading that they will get us seated now! I said no thank you! Very disappointed. I've never in all these years had a bad experience here. The food here is great but the service is spotty at best. We used to visit this location almost every weekend for brunch but we got so tired of the service that we started visiting other locations instead. We still go to this location every now and then because my husband and I both like the food here better. Even though all of the Otto's supposedly the same, the food does taste a little different at each place. We almost always eat off their breakfast menu even if it's lunchtime because their breakfast menu is so good. I love their french toast, but I also often get the chorizo and eggs. My husband loves their pancakes. Between the two of us, we've had almost everything on their breakfast menu. I'm not a fan of out-of-the can chilis so I avoid their menu items with those. I mean, we live in CA for crying out loud. Can't you get a real chili? But, other than that, we've never had a problem with the quality of the food. The serving sizes are huge so we always bring some home. Their "side" of ham is big enough that in most restaurants it would be the main dish. I am not a big fan of hash browns which come with most everything. So, I substitute tomatoes instead. The service is the big problem. Sometimes it's fast and friendly and they keep checking on your, sometimes you'll sit there for 10 minutes before you even see a waitperson. Then, once your food is on the table, you won't see anyone again until they bring the bill. The head waitress is often exceptionally rude, to the point of being intentionally mean. But, occasionally she is funny. We have been hassled on more than one occasion about the fact that one of our children sits in a high chair and it's inconvenient for the waitresses/waiters to move around with high chairs. As though that's our fault they have a poor floor layout. If it's a hassle, they should move their tables so it's not a hassle. The train sound is fun, especially to see the reaction of the people who don't know it's a recording and are trying to find the train the middle of the city. We actually got a free meal one time so that was a bonus. The decor is kind of funky/ tacky but in a good way. Lots of random license plates from around the country, photos of the local area and, in a nod to nearby Edwards AFB, lots of pictures of planes - and not just your typical planes, they have some pretty funky ones. They have recently decided to franchise and so they having been trying to clean up their act. They got rid of a lot of the junk they had hanging from the ceiling, closed in the kitchen area so you can't see the chaos anymore and repainted. They have new, classier menus (although there was something oddly endearing about the old ones) and have spruced up their counter eating area. But, they haven't fixed the biggest problem which is the service. They offer discounts to a lot of different people in addition to the standard. So, if you are a cop, firefighter, military member, etc. you may get a discount. On the whole, the food is awesome, if they could just get consistent in their service, we'd be going back a whole lot more. read more

I've lived in the AV for almost 20 years and have had a few experiences with Crazy Otto's. I have to be honest I was never impressed with the food and thought the quantities were crazy. My mind has now been changed. I got a coupon for dinner and decided to give it a try as I had only ever had breakfast here. The dinner menu is pretty decent, nothing spectacular just diner type food in a great diner-ish atmosphere. The icing on the cake that will probably keep me coming back is that the service was amazing, we had Eddy when we were there and he was the best server I've had anywhere in a long time! read more

I love this place they are known for their breakfast and seriously there is a reason why. They have the worlds largest Spanish omelets I think that was the name of it. But seriously all of their omelets are awesome. Everything there is Huge pancakes, waffles, sasuages, everything. The only bad thing I have to say about this places is that its always packed and it takes forever to get food or anything around there but its sure worth the wait. read more

Been here several times over the last few years and was always happy with the quality of the food and the service. The last two times I was there not only the service was horrible, the food left much to be desired!!! The large prime rib was so small and brunt and went to send it back and the extra slow and rude waitress told me they had run out. I ordered something else that took another half hour to receive. No refill on the coffee unless, I actually got up and asked for it. I had finally had enough and asked for a manager who to my surprise had the ugliest attitude I have ever encountered Ina restaurant staff. (I worked in this industry for over 20 years.). I wish I could have left our waitress a penny as a tip, but just couldn't bring myself to be this rude, she certainly didn't get the 20% I leave for good service. Im absolutely done with this place...the Worse service ever...my 4th or 5th time coming here and I'm always seated in the back without fail even when its empty, waitresses makes you feel a burden... your neglected and forgotten as they happily engage and interact other patrons whom they know...friendliness should exhibited to all patrons and not solely contingent on how much you frequent the establishment...waitress constantly forgetful when bringing items asked for, slight attitudes when apparently too many requests are being made...burnt potatoes but would not refund or compliment only remakes..we choose to get potatoes remade and came back burnt again this place charges too much to be overcooking and not wanting to refund for doing so....how many times do I have to wait til my order is made right in the time frame of the rest of my family's meals....not to mention consistently dirty glasses silverware and plates the waitress got upset for replacing let me remind not my 1st time experiencing this here...managers act inept and un helpful get flustered just walk away and deal with other patrons...the owner apparently is rarely there to deal with situations the manager has no ability to correct...is it my fault I expect things to be a certain way when I pay for something especially my food but have to wait even longer for them to get it right because I'm not getting my money back! I've been coming to crazy ottos since the original one by the railroad tracks on Sierra Hwy. I use to eat there and and when they moved to this location at least once a week. Since they went corporate or whatever new owner service has gone off the tracks pun intended. We always get the Spanish omelet which I highly recommend. At the time of writing this review I sat at the counter by myself with the stop watch on my phone running. It took 5 min to asked what I wanted to drink. It does get busy in here but looking around their about 45% at capacity. read more

It's cute on the inside, it's clean and the wait staff are really nice, which is incredible since the place was packed and on our side of the restaurant there was only one waitress. Felt sorry for her, someone probably called in sick. The busboy helped out. Now, to the food. One word - blech. It was 6pm. Two friends had prime rib which they said was tasteless (and put A-1 on it) Me and my other friend ordered rib-eye medium well. Not only was it tasteless, it was almost rare! My friend took both of our rib-eyes and fed it to her dogs later. So fatty. The carrot combo veggies were not fresh and probably from a can. No bread was served with the meal and the potatoes were just tossed on the plate and not even cut down the middle. Fortunately, we had the mozzarella sticks to start, so at least one thing was edible. Our waitress' name was Vicki and I salute her for dishing this out with a smile on her face and a good attitude. Kudos to her. None of us will bother going back to see if it improves. Too many restaurants in town. Better get it together Otto's! read more

After reading the reviews, my girlfriend and I came prepared to split a plate, and it was still enough to fill us both. The pork chops were good, but not great, and the hash browns were nice and crispy in all the right spots.
