I have always ordered breakfast stuff pretty much only every time we go. The other day going for a afternoon lunch I thought I would try something new and different and so glad that I did. I ordered the turkey melt and since I don't eat cheese I had them leave that off. It is roasted turkey not deli slices and it was fabulous. It gives you this at home feel! Our server Jennifer was amazing. So attentive and sweet! And the food was amazing! The pancakes are the size of a pizza. So if your not to hungry just order one lol. They all serve large plentiful portions with take out boxes being the norm. This one on Ave I we just visited last Sunday after church, a common practice (NOT usually this location however) for hubby&I. We won't be back to this location. I ordered their bacon and cheese omelet which I've had a few times at their other locations. I got it and all I saw was a pool of grease on the huge plate under the omelet. What was all that grease doing there? I had 2 bites and thought, nope, I gotta get this back to kitchen because I was sure they must have spilled grease on my plate. Gave it to server, not happy that I did that I could tell, but it was unexceptable to even think of eating that, how to eat around all that grease, there wasn't one. I got another plate of same breakfast, told her it was much better, thank you, and took first bite. The omelet was also lying on top of a pool of grease, didn't eat, husband's was a huge disappointment that morning as well, he said, We won't be back to this CO's, I agree we won't. read more

So disappointed in how this place treats faithful customers. During the pandemic I was a faithful customer to use local business/small business' for take out orders. So, receiving my free birthday dinner - only allowed to use ON the birthdate - I called to place my order, along with another order. No Where does the gift say dine in only. AND with the pandemic still around, I wouldn't go to a restaurant without private seating. BUT the one who answered the phone told me no, only dine in. I couldn't believe they were saying that and she offered to contact the manger and call me back. She did. And, the manager Wendy said no. Unreal how they treat faithful customers. The service at the Ave I location leave MUCH to be desired and so with this happening, I will never go back and will share my negative experience with all that I can. This place is disgusting I took my wife and son for breakfast and had the worst experience. We were served sharp broken plastic with our meal. After informing the waitress we were told that they broke a glass and it accidentally ended up in our meal. I was forced to pay despite not eating the meal. Came here on a Saturday around 2:20 pm. Got sat and the server took our order at 2:30ish we waited 35+ min for our food to come out even though it was not busy. We just ordered omelet and sandwiches. People that came after us were getting their food before ours. We had to tell them to take it to go cause we had to wait so long and we were time sensitive. The food was mediocre at best. So disappointed! Where do I start? I called in our order and took the drive to the restraunt. The parking is terrible there, I waited 5 mins for the hostess to ask if I wanted to be seated or if it was a pick up. I took a seat waiting for the food, she helped other customers in line and then called my name. No biggie but she seemed to be in a bad mood, instead of repeating my order or letting me check she just told me the total. After being there for 20 mins just to pick up, I just wanted to leave anyway. Well, I got home only to find I had been given the wrong order. I called them back and told them I was given the wrong order, the last in the phone was very nice and told me to come back and see the hostess and my order would be ready. So off I go again, there was no parking at all. I had to park at burger king two businesses down. When I walked in to the diner, I wasn't greeted, I was ignored and had to wait in line again to give them the food. My order wasn't ready, she just told me to have a seat. I waited another 20 mins before my order was given to me. The waitress repeated my order and apologized for the mix up. This place is a meal fit for a King, his Queen, the Prince and Princess, Court Jester, Advisors, General of The Kingdom Army, hell, I think you can feed the whole military, and that is just with one meal. I have been coming to Crazy Otto's for over 10 years now. Yes, it helps that this one is walking distance from my girl's house. I have never gotten a bad meal here, and this day was no different. This time, it was just the 2 of us. They were open on Christmas Day, and I wanted to give her a great breakfast, so we came here.(Yes, we were shocked it was open) We walked in, and it wasn't even that packed, considering there aren't that many places open on Christmas Day to begin with. The first woman we saw, wished us a Merry Christmas, and asked us how many? We told her 2 and away we went, no wait, and a very happy and friendly smiling face. Then our waitress came over, and again, another happy smiling face started to talk to us. After a Merry Christmas, and very nice pleasantries, she asked us what we wanted to drink. I ordered water, and my girl ordered Raspberry Ice Tea. We saw 4 or 5 more people come to our table within our time there, always refilling our drinks, and always happy to serve us. The service here, is always that way. It's almost like being at home with family. Service-5 Now for our food, does anyone ever finish their meal? I ordered the Belgium Waffles breakfast, which comes with 2 eggs, bacon or sausage or ham. I chose Bacon, and added a side of sausage.(Mistake) Let me just tell you, the pictures don't really do them justice, these things are huge, but they are definitely a lot smaller than anything else on the menu, thank god for that. I don't know what kind of eggs they use, but the 2 eggs here, must be Ostrich or Pterodactyl, because it seems like its more like 3 or 4 eggs. Its almost like a half pound of bacon, and the sausage, was almost like a ground up porterhouse, WHOLE. All with great flavor, and incredible taste. My girl ordered the French Toast breakfast, with 2 eggs, a ham steak, and a side of Hash Browns.(Bigger Mistake) The French Toast is 2 HUGE pieces of bread, smothered in powdered sugar, and butter, but it seems more like a whole loaf in these 2 pieces. She likes them well done, and got them just like she loves them. Now for the ham steak, not to be graphic, but I could swear this is the whole pig. This thing is huge, you could cut it into pieces and make like 2 sandwiches with it. The hash browns: They are almost like a graded potato, and cooked in butter, and seasoning, something I never see anywhere, the cut or the cook. All browned to perfection, and thoroughly cooked. Add in a side of wheat toast(or a loaf), and you have got a meal that 4 people could have shared, but it was just the 2 of us, and we were more than SATISFIED!!! Food-5 This place is like an old Midwestern style diner. They even have a booth, made out of an old car. They have out of state license plates from all over hanging everywhere, and it is a place that my kids love going to, just to be mesmerized when they look around. It has a great look, and a great feel to it, and it is very warm and inviting. They even have a counter, and a huge seating area if you bring a large party. Ambiance-5 We have come here many many times, and we will come here many many more. Just know that you must come hungry. We have always come for breakfast, never for lunch or dinner, but that is next for us. After seeing the sandwiches and the burgers come out of the kitchen, I definitely want to try one of those, I think I might have to wait until after New Years though, I honestly couldn't eat for the rest of the day. We did take a lot home, and it was great for the next morning. I was dreamin' when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray But when I woke up this mornin', could've sworn it was Judgment Day Whenever you can have a good conversation with your teenage kids, it's a good thing. It was another daddy/daughter lunch date and it was very good. We covered everything from plans after high school, views on homosexuality, 'boy'friends, and of course her mom. Nice place, good convo and good food. The omelets here are the best in the AV. The half order itself is enough for two people, but I went with the full order. An extra 1.50 for the bigger omelet is a small price to pay for having 2 more leftover meals this week. I'm frugal like that....Sue Me. Anyway, I ordered the avocado omelet which has bacon, mashed avocado and your choice of cheese. I went with the Monterey _ack, cuz American cheese is just so blaaaah. The full order is so big, that the egg is a thin crepe like covering over tasty avocado and crispy bacon. It was heavenly. Hands down the best omelets in the AV so far. I think they held the Guinness world record for biggest omelet a few years back with a 1800 sq ft omelet. That's bigger than my fu***n apt! My little girl had the Belgian waffle with whipped cream & strawberries. And like everything else here, it was large and tasty. Crisp, fluffy and tasty with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. It came with a homemade sausage patty that's spiced just right with sage and pepper. The decor here is AV-centric: License plates, bull horns, and neon signs on the wall. All country here baby! The staff is very friendly and attentive, almost to the point of being obtrusive. But I prefer that to being treated as an afterthought. Refill my tea and my baby girls water constantly and you'll get a great tip. read more

When we arrived, we sat down wherever we wanted. There was nobody available to sit us at a table. Getting our drinks took a while. Then it took even longer to take our order. Very very slow service. Then we finally made our order for their sandwiches. Shortly after that, they told us that they had no more french bread to serve the sandwiches in. So we ordered something else from their breakfast menu.... boy oh boy, the portions are EXTREMELY BIG... Not kidding or joking by the way. We are big eaters, but just seeing their portion size made us lose our appetites instead. We could not even finished half of the plate. Huge breakfasts that we never finish and take home for one or two more times. Don't go here if you're worried about your cholesterol or you're on a diet. It's the epitome of da classic diner. Da wife got the ham steak and I got da chicken fried steak breakfasts. They turned out great! Service is always good, especially if you realize the wait staff is always over worked. Sure we have to ask for refills on coffee but that's how it's always been. Their coffee is actually pretty good as far as diner coffee's go. Went here Sunday the 17th of August and the place was slammed, and with us and a 20 person party. Had to wait 30 minutes ;and could not sit at the same table but we had the an alcove to ourselves and could still talk. We had Katie for a server and she was outstanding. Took orders right, worked with my son and his special non gluten diet ((severe cealic (sic) disease)) and brought the food hot! Prime rib and eggs was the best I've had there. Tender and cooked perfect medium rare/rare side. Biscuits were fresh and the gravy!! Man I was in heaven. Didn't even really mind the sodium/fat hang-over for the afternoon it was that good.
