Out of vegan waffles? As I ordered something I had been looking forward to, the vegan chicken and waffles, the waitress says, "Oh, didn't I tell you that we were out of the vegan waffle today?" No. No you did not. And if you had, I might have not eaten here. How do you not have the vegan waffle when all the regular waffle has in it that isn't vegan is a little bitter? Honestly, wtf. That's sloppy, lazy, and dumb. Also, the waitress had the audacity to also ask, "Are you actually a vegan or just a vegetarian?" Bitch, it ain't none of your business. You don't have what I ordered. You don't need to know shit about my eating preferences. The vegan tapioca is what I had. It was pretty good. But I didn't come to a waffle place for that. We were sat at a four top for a party of two and halfway through waiting for the food to come, we were asked to accept that the table we were at would be split, with our permission, to accommodate a party of 3. Come the fuck on. Pretty standard, but you'd already failed pretty hard. Don't keep fucking up. So, basically, here's the deal: I'm a tourist, so I will more than likely never come back. Was looking for something sweet while in Vancouver. Came across this spot and to my surprise had two items I cannot resist, waffles and Crepes. Ended up having the Nutella fruits crepe with vanilla ice cream. Hands down some of the best crepe I have tasted to date. On top of this, the staff is very friendly and attentive. I really hate lining up for a restaurant, so I feel like I was grumpy before I even sat down. The space is a bit cramped, especially if you get seated up at the bar facing the windows. What I can eat there is limited because of the gluten thing. I usually have the smoked salmon tapioca which is kind of like a crepe minus the wheat. The texture is more chewy and a bit dry. It is delicious once you get used to the texture. Others have mentioned that the service is fast, but the few times I have been there the service is painfully slow. read more

(They even have an entire section with vegan selections which is awesome). * Celebration strawberry cheesecake shake ($14.50) ~ amazing. Not only do you get an entire piece of super rich and creamy cheese cake, you also get a delicious thick and yummy strawberry milkshake. 9/10. * Oh yeah vegan shake ($18.50) ~ bomb and it's perfect for lactose intolerant peeps. While I like the overall ambiance of the place, the service is incredibly slow. I think it really depends on the day that you come. Me and my two other friends came on a Sunday and it took roughly 15 minutes to get seated. When we did, the server gave us a table with barstools that was just super uncomfortable to sit in lol. I know you have to work with the space, but I do think the barstools are just an odd thing to add in there. It took another 12 minutes for someone to come over and serve us and then finally, my two friends got their orders and I got mine nearly 30 minutes after ordering. It's just an overall long wait for an omelet. I got the chicken and bacon omelet and it was alright. There was a lot of chicken to bacon ratio but the potatoes were amazing! I def would try and come here again, just not on a Sunday. It was so so busy and loud and the restaurant is just not fit for that many people. read more

Fantastic milkshakes.... Awesome savoury waffles. The waffles are more on the salty and airy side than the sweet and biscuity side, which I was surprised to find out. If you're up for savoury waffles like pull pork (very tasty), you will be happy but if you're expecting Belgian style waffles with cream and sugary stuff on top, it's probably not going to wow you. Was very excited to try the vegan options but was somewhat disappointed. The vegan "craffles" (a misnomer because it's only 1 craffle) with crème came with strawberries and blueberries which were not stated in the description so I ended up ordering additional strawberries on the side. Total for one craffle with berries and crème and the additional two tablespoons of strawberries was over $20. That did not feel like good value for what we paid for. Great vegan selection, I ordered the amazing vegan breakfast with beyond chicken instead of sausage. the vegan craffle I had tasted so flakey and buttery and the beyond chicken was yummy crispy just how I like it. Took a star off because the maple syrup tasted v fake and the waitress was a bit standoffish. The coffee was also mid - I had an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was not cold enough and the coffee didn't come through well at all. We heard about this place from several people and Yelpers highly rated the food here, so we decided to wait in the 45-minute long line (no wait list, no reservations) for a table. There were five of us so it took a little longer than normal. Several groups of 2 behind us were seated first. Generally it was worth the wait! I ended up getting the chicken and waffles, which I never get otherwise, but it just seemed right to do it here. While it was pretty good, the chicken wasn't the most tender and flavorful, but the waffles were light and tasty. The maple syrup was yummy. My son, however, got the Crepe Nutella Fruits which was soooo good. My youngest daughter got the eggs Benedict and it was ok. To be fair, she's lactose intolerant and got the hollandaise on the side which she just barely tasted to avoid any unpleasant side effects later, so really what is eggs Benedict without hollandaise? My oldest daughter also got fruit crepes and loved them. So, I would suggest crepes if you go here, but can't speak to the sweet waffle dishes. Overall, the place is nice, we had a table by the window, and the service was good. Not sure we'd wait in line for it again but it was a nice experience. read more
