Absolutely lovely vegan bowls here. Service was great and god vibe for such a small restaurant. The patio tables and umbrellas were nice for the sunny day.

I went to their location on Commerical. It was early morning after Acupuncture and I had some time before my Doctors appointment at 10:30am, so needed a good breakfast. I wanted something gluten and dairy free. Walked in and out of a few cafes trying to find something I could eat when I stumbled upon Kokomo. Their Açai bowl was incredible - a açai berry base with lots of healthy toppings like a GF granola, fruits, seeds and almond butter. Loved it! Also ordered a lush green smoothie that was packed with so much goodness. Unfortunately, I couldn't bare the taste of raw concentrated turmeric so I barely drank it. For those who can tolerate strong turmeric, this is probably the drink for you. Although I personally didn't like it, I know this drink is packed with anti inflammatory properties. Loved the staff. New staff in training and she was wonderful, along with the one who was training her. Cute little place on Commercial. Gotta try their other locations.

Inedible plastic shard found in my bowl

Kokomo's açai bowls are delicious, never seemed to have an issue until recently. I found not one, not two, but several pieces of inedible plastic shards that could be mistaken as coconut shards. Nice. DEFINITELY NOT COCONUT SHARDS. How the hell did those get in my açai bowl? I could've had a life and death choking experience! Irresponsible.

Açai bowl

I stumbled upon this restaurant/cafe while I was strolling down 4th with a friend. We saw their very appealing look on the outside and had to check it out. I ordered their açai bowl and my friend got the coffee crisp smoothie and WOW. They were both delicious. The açai bowl was flavourful, the granola was homemade and the fruit was fresh and sweet. The smoothie had just the right amount of coffee in it without it being overpowering while still being able to taste the other flavours. We were one of the only customers in the store at the time so our food was made fast and efficiently. The person working behind the counter was knowledgable and could recommend very good items on the menu. Would definitely return!

I love Kokomo's bowls and get them often. But today I tried a smoothie of theirs and was very disappointed. The smoothie came in a tiny cup compared all the competitors on west 4th, which are 50% bigger then this and the roughly the same price. It was more a juice then smoothie and very watery. It was also served to me missing about an inch of smoothie from the top of the cup. It was bad value for money. Although the juice/smoothie was tasty itself, I will just stick to the bowls from now on.

This review is 3 months late, but even a few months later, we remember our meal like it was yesterday and can't wait to return the next time we're in Vancouver. Getting to experience a Michelin Guide-recommended vegan restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip! We had (from the June 2025 menu): the Bread, the Broccolini, the Chickpea Tofu, and the Potato Cavatelli. Not a single crumb, morsel, drizzle of sauce, or even pea was left on the plates! Every bite was so full of flavor and decadent, we were so sad when the meal was over ;) The stand-out though was the Chickpea Tofu, the best tofu we've ever had and it seemed to just melt in your mouth. We also loved sitting at the bar that overlooks the open kitchen. They offer those seats for guests who want a more immersive, interactive dining experience. It was really cool to watch the chefs create each masterpiece. Overall a truly memorable and delicious experience!

Would go back again -- and soon! They change their menu every few weeks.

The Garden Rolls were absolutely the #1 worst ones we've ever eaten! We've had hundreds of fresh rolls at dozens of places and sadly, none were as tasteless as these. They consisted of noodles, a bit of flavorless tofu and cucumber. Fresh rolls MUST have at least one or more of the following: fresh mint, fresh cilantro or fresh Thai Basil. Hestia's had NONE!. To add insult to injury, the watery sauce also had NO flavor. To add more insult, they were baggy and poorly wrapped and the innards kept falling out. Not fun and definitely not good. The king oyster mushrooms were very good, but there was a ton of pink mayo dousing it. I would have preferred the sauce be in a separate bowl so we could choose how much dipping we'd like to do. The saffron tofu bowl was sensational! Perfectly spiced and full of a huge variety of well-cooked veggies plus the saffron rice was good too. No one came during our meal to ask if we needed anything or to ask how our meal was. The customer service is in need of some work.

This is a vegetarian restaurant and we had the ten course tasting menu ( which sounds like a lot but most dishes are 3-4 bites). Everything is seasonal so when we were there in June the dishes included asparagus, potatoes, leeks, rhubarb, etc. and every dish was amazing. The service was also very attentive, including explaining in detail what each dish was when it was served. Delightful. This is a once in a lifetime experience.

So to say I was extremely excited is an understatement. We ordered the Sourdough (with House Cultured Butter, Vancouver Island Sea Salt) Shiitake (with Soy Braised Squash, Kelp, Ginger,Lemongrass) Cabbage with Brown Butter and Pomme Dauphinois Harvest which was house made ravioli stuffed with chicken of the woods. For dessert the Plum with Fig Leaf, Miso Honeycomb and Thai Basil Sourdough was good. No arguments there. The shiitake was fine, palatable. The cabbage and potato were very bland and made me question why the Acorn is so hyped. It was so bland i didn't finish it. Keep in mind SERVING SIZES ARE TINY. The ravioli were practically inedible the chicken of the woods was beyond overly salted and the pasta wasn't cooked. We joked that al dente was at least touching water. This pasta has never heard of water. Easily one of if not THE WORST PASTA I've ever had at a restaurant in the past few years. Thank goodness the plum dessert was yummy. Very good. But truly I don't understand why people rave about The Acorn. I love food. Im a vegetarian but it's hard to comprehend why it's so hyped. Maybe there was a new cook? Maybe it was an off night? Crossed off my Vancouver bucket list. It took me a while to write this review because I frankly was in shock the contrast between the actual food vs the lore it has around town. The highlights were a basic sourdough and a well balanced dessert. That just feels so wrong.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by staff and led to a table. The place smelled incredible and everyone around looked pleased with their dining experience. To begin, we took our servers recommendation and ordered the chickpea fritters. I don't know what I expected, but this surpassed my expectations. The fritters were warm, with a crunchy exterior but soft interior, and packed with flavour. The curry mayo accented their flavour and the plating was the icing on the cake. I absolutely recommend them! For the main, we decided to split an order of the miso roasted carrots, and I ordered the crispy pork belly. The carrots were cooked to perfection and reminded me of home cooked holiday meals. The crispy pork belly was siting in a tomato sauce that had the right mix of zest and warmth. The pork belly was melt in your mouth delicious! The only thing we did not particularly enjoy, was the dessert which was heavy in amaretto flavour. The farm to table style cuisine brings out the brightest in vegetables and the healthful cooking is one that can be enjoyed in abundance. The staff are knowledgable and attentive, and the menu is loaded with captivating options. Highly recommend this Michelin bib gourmand restaurant. (Cucumber Melon Salad: A) - Marinated melon is such a smart way for flavor development. The usage of quinoa as a crunch rather than a grain also makes quinoa quite enjoyable in this case! I think the large slices of cucumber become water bombs rather than flavor bombs, which is unideal. (Patatas Bravas: B) - Intriguing dish of triple cooked crisp potatoes thats tender on the inside with a trio of aiolis. The dish would benefit from smaller potato wedges to absorb the flavor better, but otherwise the aiolis really helped give a depth of creamy, herbacious, and spicy flavor combo. (Duck Breast: A) - Tender duck breast paired with a beautiful red fruit jam that helped add an acidic sweetness. This protein was quite nailed, but a crispier skin would take it to the next level. We ordered eggs, coffee, a breakfast platter, and a peanut butter pastry. The eggs were well made, and the food overall was good. While it wasn't quite a 5/5 for me, it was definitely enjoyable, especially considering the limited breakfast options in the area. The café has a very cute small-town vibe, which adds a lot to the experience and makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal. Holy smokes, the Acai bowls here are massive. We were soooo full. If we ever come here again, we will just share one bowl with each other. Not sure that we will come here again though. The Acai bowls weren't bad but I've had better. I feel it could have been a bit sweeter. I was not impressed with my mom's Avocado Toast. I could see my mother struggling to cut her Avocado Toast so it seems the crust was quite hard. She ended up leaving a lot of the crust on her plate and just ate the middle of the bread. On the website I had seen Avocado Toast, sandwiches, wraps and Salmon Lox Bagel. I was quite dismayed to walk into this place and not see any of that stuff written on the menu. There was a small sign by the cashier that said to ask about Avocado Toast. I guess by the same token, I would have had to ask about Salmon Lox Bagel. Why make us ask about it? Why not just include it on the huge menu that was up on the wall? Might have made life easier when it came to ordering something for my mom who isn't into Acai bowls like us.
