I need to take pics for a better review the next visit. This place is beautiful. The food, drinks, treats, bowls are all so gorgeous and nutritional. I love how calm and fresh the vibe is. Great little place.

First time trying this place while visiting! It is absolutely amazing! The food and the space 10/10. Calming and cozy. The food, so nutrient dense. We had fun The folks working here were very helpful and kind while they guided me to make wonderful meal choices coming back tomorrow!!!

If you like swinging, go swing by, beautiful interior with floor to ceiling window. I had Buddha-full granola bowl" Its house-made granola, gluten free oats, coconut, banana, raspberries and oat milk. Light and healthy, a great place to spend for a sunny afternoon. **vegan plant base ingredients

Came upon this location by chance while looking for a quick breakfast. A very cute and bohemian vibe place! Ordered the Happy Face with spinach. It was so good, I forgot to take a picture before finishing it haha! But all to say, the shakes here are pretty flavorful and filling.

Definitely on the pricey side and looks like prices went up since our last visit. The food is pretty good but not sure most of it is worth it especially the açai bowls which are way overpriced. You can make that easily but the Buddha bowls are yummy and filling and I love their special elixir drinks. Value 2/5 Atmosphere 4/5 Service 3/5 Quality 4/5 13/20

I love the simplicity of this place. It is clean, vibrant and welcoming. When you walk in, you know and feel you area out to get something delicious and healthy. I ordered a sweet potato dish for brunch - sweet potato when baked is delicious. The quality of their food is top notch and their services are brilliant. For a health meal, the prices were affordable. I am fortunate this is close to my work so I can drive by for a quick grab. I love the swings - we couldn't get off of it.

What a great space! Right as you walk in you just better instantly. The bright natural light combined with the healthy looking planters on the walls, and the swing seats at the eating bar, along with a vast healthy menu make for a great eating spot. I had a Tuscan wrap which was okay. Nothing great. The salad was better than the wrap, but there were plenty other items on the menu that I'll return for. I also had a steamer called Pacific Rim which was sooo yummy. Oat milk, peanut butter, salted something or other, and some other ingredients. Was delicious!

It is understandable why this place is empty! Great food WAY overpriced.. or the value is not equal to the price.

This place has really high quality stuff, and the price reflects that. It is VERY pricy -- or more accurately, the value does not match the price, but it seems that energy if off too somehow. No pro-active customer service in any way from the young and inexperienced staff... it was painful to watch. I hope the owner gets in here to straighten a few things up or it will die.

This cafe was even better to be in than just seeing it in pictures. I ordered the Buddha-Full Granola bowl and was not disappointed. They do offer a 10% SPC discount for students which is always useful. My bowl came to a total of $9.45. Completely worth it for a bowl of all natural and organic ingredients. Very aesthetic piece of art, both the bowl and the cafe! Totally recommend coming!

The hot tonics were delish along with the strawberry chia pudding. Ordered 2 açaí bowls as well- very tasty.

Beautiful interior and the food is great! Great place to study and free wifi. It's just a bit on the pricier side

    Love their swing chairs!

After seeing photos of this cafe on Instagram, I decided to look it up and make our way there on this Saturday morning. We live downtown and realized it was pretty far from us, but still had to check it out... we first accidentally went to the West 1st location, which doesn't have the swings that I saw originally in the instagram posts. So we found the other location (Dollarton hwy - even further away).... and right away we knew we found the place. The interior was well lit with plenty of lights to be seen from the corner of the street. Once we got in, there were a few swing chairs available to take some photos in. My youngest daughter is 3 and can't quite sit on the chair without almost falling off... she needed some assistance for sure. We ordered green smoothies (which were actually quite delicious), lattes, avocado toast (very yum!), cinnamon bread (which they wouldn't warm up for me for some reason)... a peanut butter cookie and a kids Hot chocolate. We got everything quite quickly except for the Kids hot chocolate, which took about 20 min up until the point which I actually forgot about it. I went up to ask for it and it looked like they forgot. We ended up getting it to go a few min later. Once we got in the car I was about to give it to my daughter but decided to try it since the cup felt really hot. Once I took a sip, I realized it was burning hot and not actually a kids hot chocolate (as they usually come lukewarm to prevent kids from burning their tongues)... so instead I burnt mine. I let the hot chocolate cool down for an extra 15 min to where it was drinkable for my daughter. It was really tasty though! The interior of Buddha-Full was absolutely beautiful, very boho with lots of living plants scattered everywhere. The swing chairs were extremely cool, the whole reason why I had to find this place. It was just a bonus that they had such great food and healthy drinks. I wish we lived closer to visit more often.

Ok ok, what's better than driving to Canada to eat vegan food, I'll tell you .. driving to Canada to eat vegan food while meeting new vegan friends! We decided to meet up at Mila Plant-Based, 100% vegan restaurant in the downtown area sort of right in-between Downtown Eastside, Science World, and Gastown. The restaurant has a lovely, quaint ambiance, feels very welcoming upon entering. The bathroom was .. well, posh! I don't normally make a point to comment on bathroom decor, while average in size, I felt like I was being upgraded to First Class lol. Ok, moving right along .. lol They have two menus, a Weekend Brunch Menu and, for all other hours, a Lunch/Dinner Menu, ..we ordered from the Weekend Brunch Menu. I had the Bibimbap Bowl - rice bowl with Yo Egg, mushroom bacon, kimchi, tempura yam, cucumber, carrot, gochujang sauce. This bowl had many layers of unique flavors all married perfectly in every exquisite bite, I say this very sincerely! My wife ordered the Pina Colada Pancakes - pancakes, toasted coconut syrup, cashews, cocktail cherries, rum-candied pineapple, mint. Each bite easily lived up to the the decadence displayed in the included image. We absolutely have to find our way back to Mila to try their Lunch/Dinner menu as it includes some amazing sounding options such as, Feta Stuffed Date - date, feta, pistachio, olive oil, maldon salt, ABURI LOX OSHI - carrot lox, aburi sauce, shiso, serrano, 6 pieces, Tuna Crispy Rice - watermelon akami tuna, sushi rice, lime kewpie mayo, green onion, sesame seeds, 3 pieces, and much more. We had quite a few options to choose from regarding where to meet for brunch, with every option sounding wonderful in their own way. Ultimately, we decided on Mila because of their unique, fresh and inspiring sounding dishes and yeah, they did not disappoint. Thanks so much for dropping by and reading this review. Do yourself a favor and extend the same courtesy to Mila by ... dropping by .. and enjoying some amazing tasty food.

The restaurant was decorated nicely, but nothing remarkable so I was surprised by the presentation of the food!

It's vegan cheese inside the sandwich but still nice and gooey which is just how a grilled cheese sandwich should be. I love the tanginess of the sourdough bread that they use for this sandwich. There was cheese in my daughter's Croissant Breakfast Sandwich but it didn't look very melted. That's the one thing I could be improved upon. Otherwise, her Croissant Breakfast Sandwich was looking really really good, and I think I'm gonna have to try ordering it for myself next time. Yup, even with unmelted cheese, the sandwich was still calling out to me. Not sure why it didn't call out to me the last time my daughter had it. Hmmm...maybe it did and I just forgot! A sigh that we need to come to this place more often! They had a few bins with stuff on sale. There was a $5 bin and a $10 bin. I bought a couple packs of Garlic Shio Ramen noodles from the $5 bin and a pack of Umami Garlic broth from the $10 bin. Probably not gonna open them up for awhile though. There was a sweet filling inside that paired really well with the croissant, causing me to devour the whole thing in one sitting. Their drinks are standard and can served for here or to go. I love the ambiance and interior of the café. There is ample seating and space. I also love that they have a little section for kids with books and toys to keep them busy. In the Bay Area we have Shizen/Tane and which I can safely say are still pretty different from Vegan Shoku. (Both are so good!!). Vegan Shoku uses konjac-based sashimi which allows for sashimi and nigiri that looks like its conventional fish counterparts. Today, we ordered 1. Salmon Eggplant This reminded me of nasu dengaku but with a "salmon salad" (think tuna salad) on top of charred eggplant. There was a miso sauce, the same that's used for nasu dengaku dressing the entire thing. The eggplant was creamy but not oil-laden, and the salmon worked nicely with the eggplant and miso dressing. Every bite was perfection. Each bite was garnished with fried carrot strings and beet. Sooooo good! 2. Shoku Roll We figured we should definitely order this since it's the restaurant's namesake. Since it was topped with mango & a popping boba, it had a hint of sweetness which was refreshing. 3. Dynamite Roll Absolutely gorgeous roll that packed as much flavor as it did color. The sweet, savory, creamy and crunchy.... this roll takes you on a journey and more! 4. Teriyaki Beef Roll Don't ask questions, just order this! It's like a beef donburi in roll form. 5. Salmon Nigiri I've never been a fan of seafood so this was a bit of a risky pick. Sure enough, it was too realistic for me so I had to hand it off to my bf to finish. For those who love and miss the taste of salmon, this is a must try! 6. Takoyaki While this looked like takoyaki, it definitely wasn't. They were still tasty but they were more like meatballs than anything. Takoyaki is supposed to have chunks of octopus (which when I make it at home, I use konyaku), shredded cabbage, ginger in a savory pancake-like batter cooked in a ball-shaped cast iron mold, topped with aonori, mayo and brown sauce. The meatballs were in a brown sauce of some kind and were incredibly robust and meaty. They were too meaty for my liking (some mock meats sort of gross me out!) but that's more of a preference thing and doesn't speak to the quality. It was very flavorful, it just wasn't for me. 7. Matcha Ice cream The ice cream looked like it was slice from a cake! Maybe they peeled back the paper carton of the ice cream and cut a slice from that. It looked super surgical and clean, like art! The flavor was super robust and matcha-y. It was not the typical (disappointing) green-colored ice cream that tasted mostly of vanilla and had hints of match. This was the real deal! What a rare find! It extremely pricey but it more than made up for all the times I've ordered green-colored matcha imposter ice creams, so get this if you are a matcha lover! Being how uncommon these types of restaurants are, the server was super patient in answering my questions and was helpful in making suggestions too. If I find myself in BC in the future, you can bet I'll be making another stop in here to try other items on their menu. This was such a treat!!

I think there was a bit too much rice used in the sushi. Smaller amounts of rice would have been preferred. Also, we found that the Salmon Avocado Oshi tasted just like the Tuna Avocado Oshi. Either that, or they gave us two identical sushi orders by mistake instead of 1 Salmon Avocado Oshi and 1 Tuna Avocado Oshi. I was kinda bummed that they didn't have their vegan spam that day. Hoping to go back some other day and try it. If it weren't for the vegan spam though, I probably wouldn't bother coming back to this restaurant again. Pains me to say that as I'm usually a huge supporter of plant based restaurants but...this restaurant was really just OK for me. Not horrible, but aside from wanting to try their vegan spam...the food just wasn't good enough for me to want to come back again.
