Came here with my daugter and my mom. Daughter was craving an Acai Bowl so she and I both had Acai bowls. Hers was the Nalu and mine was the Banzi Bowl. My mother had an Avocado Toast. Holy smokes, the Acai bowls here are massive. We were soooo full. If we ever come here again, we will just share one bowl with each other. Not sure that we will come here again though. The Acai bowls weren't bad but I've had better. I feel it could have been a bit sweeter. I was not impressed with my mom's Avocado Toast. I could see my mother struggling to cut her Avocado Toast so it seems the crust was quite hard. She ended up leaving a lot of the crust on her plate and just ate the middle of the bread. On the website I had seen Avocado Toast, sandwiches, wraps and Salmon Lox Bagel. I was quite dismayed to walk into this place and not see any of that stuff written on the menu. There was a small sign by the cashier that said to ask about Avocado Toast. I guess by the same token, I would have had to ask about Salmon Lox Bagel. Why make us ask about it? Why not just include it on the huge menu that was up on the wall? Might have made life easier when it came to ordering something for my mom who isn't into Acai bowls like us. This place seems to be somehow shared with Bean Around the World coffee shop which is right next door. There's no wall separating the two shops. You can walk from Anchor Eatery straight into the coffee shop next door. We ended up taking our food and drinks from Anchor Eatery and sitting next door at Bean Around the World coffee shop. Assumed it was allowed since there was no separation between the two shops and nobody tried to kick us out of the coffee shop. read more

The mexi wrap was nothing fancy and quite simple, but perfect. Sometimes restaurants go a little too fancy when they shouldn't. This is a pretty solid smoothie bowl place with a good amount of vegan options including salads, wraps and dessert. I enjoyed their smoothie bowl, breakfast wrap and kale caesar, but I wasn't a big fan of their brownie. I would go get dessert somewhere else. The price is a bit high but the portions are okay. Pitaya Bowl (4.5/5) This was really thick which is really important for me. The mango chunks weren't blended though, but I just pretended like they were part of the toppings. The bowl has a good amount of sweetness (I was worried that it would be too sweet due to the apple juice and mango) and I liked the flavour a lot. The granola was pretty good as well though the Bestie Granola from Juice Truck is still my all time favourite. I would have liked the granola to be on top rather than at the bottom, since it got soggy quickly and didn't taste so good after that. They top the bowl with banana (which I hate so I asked them not to add it), coconut flakes (not a big fan of coconut but you couldn't really taste much) and strawberries. I would get this again. Breakfast Wrap (4/5) This is a pretty solid option if you're looking for something hot. The tortilla is grilled nicely and there is a good amount of filling. I loved how there was a generous portion of spinach. The tofu scramble was decent and you get the option of adding on salsa, avocado (costs extra) and hot sauce. I would have liked to see beans or corn or caramelised onions in the filling to elevate the flavour, but it was still pretty good nonetheless. Kale Caesar (4/5) This was a decent kale caesar, though the one at Beetbox is still my all time favourite. There was a good amount of dressing (I hate it when I run. out of sauce) and I loved the crispy chickpeas on top. The kale was fresh but I wish it was a little softer, and I would have liked a little nutritional yeast on top for some extra flavour. Brownie Cub (1/5) These were tiny for the price. These little things were $2 and they were the size of my thumb. The texture was gummy and it tasted artificially sweet. I wasn't a fan of these and I'm kind of mad that I paid for this. I would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area for a smoothie bowl. My dad got the french toast which isn't vegan and he wasn't a big fan of it. I would stick to their smoothie bowls and savoury items. read more

I am obsessed with their tuna poke bowls so every once in a while I need to feed my craving. Always do the avocado add on if you order this! Their smoothie bowls all sound delicious. Have only tried the Nalu bowl but all the combos I doubt you could go wrong. They also do fresh juice. The smoothie bowl was not how it used to be (or how it looks in their pictures) , half the portion, the girl didn't slice banana on top had to go back and ask. For $13 was not worth it. the best poke bowl in vancouver! because it's made with albacore tuna and all organic ingredients. I sure can taste the difference that premium quality makes. my only suggestion is to shred the nori into strips, so that it stays crispy and is easier to eat. serving it in one whole sheet instead, makes it way too soggy when the rice sits on top of it, and then it's too chewy to bite apart. the juices are also fresh and delicious, as are the acai bowls. Such a gem. The building is so old and cute, the fact that it's attached to a Bean Around The World is very cool and their back deck on sunny days is prime. Try their new Blue Crush Bowl and their avocado toast with kraut. It's a community hub. All sorts of people from that area, young and old. If I lived closer I would go every day. read more

I've literally been here almost every Friday since they opened up there doors. I haven't had any of their sandwiches or juices, only pizza, and holy sh*t does Natasha (and staff) ever make a good pizza. MY favourite off the menu is the hawaiian and a close second is the umami bomb. They often have pizza features and did an amazing spicy italian sausage and banana pepper pizza this week. I really hope they add it to the menu. The atmosphere is awesome, the pizza is great, the owners and patrons are all awesome people. Get over there. read more

Came here with my mum as we were craving acai bowls, when we got there the man behind the counter was very nice and friendly towards us. We ordered the Nalu and the Hanuman both tasted good and a veggie samosa which was amazing! I visited this place because it's close to my work. The first time I went, I ordered the Vegan Vice Salad and it was one of the best salads I've ever had. The tahini dressing is delicious and I loved all the ingredients in there. A great first impression made me go back the next day to try their tuna poke bowl since there is so much advertising for it. The first bowl had a dead moth in it. Oh well, it happens. I gave it back to the cashier and she asked me if I wanted a refund or for her to make another bowl. Since I only had half an hour for lunch that day, I asked for another since going to another place and ordering something else would take too much time. I thought the tuna was incredibly salty and in my bowl, around 2/3 of the tuna I got was frozen which was a bit of a shock. I ended up eating everything but the tuna which kind of defeats the purpose of the tuna bowl. This place is pretty overpriced so I had high expectations. read more

I love this place; 5-star for both the food and service!! The 2 owners here are absolutely fantastic; they are knowledgeable, helpful, and truly have a passion in what they are serving. I have only been here for their Smooties, Acai Bowls (which I believe they were the first ones to introduce it to Vancouver) and now.. Pitaya Bowls!! I have always enjoyed the atmosphere here but today I had a weird experience. I went to go pay for my smoothie bowl with cash and the till didn't seem to be working so the cashier politely asked me if I had card. We tried the card but their seemed to be an error on the stores end and after a few minutes of trying the lady told me that it was on the house and I didn't need to pay. I said thank you and headed back to my seat. A few minutes later another worker called me over and asked me if I could finishing paying my bill in a bit of a rude tone. Obviously I am going to pay my bill but as someone who has worked in customer service for many years I feel like after they had told me that my bill was on the house of due to the inconvenience, it seemed a little off to call me back up to pay. The food was whatever, very classic west coast. Casual, nice atmosphere. But what really got me was I over heard a manager speaking very very rudely to an employee. This made me very uncomfortable, the manager even swore at the employee. After she was done putting down the employee I watched how sadly the employee moved after. I was in the area looking for a gluten free option (for some reason Savary Island Pies does not want to offer gluten free, even though lots of people are requesting it) and I saw beautiful sign in their window that says "Wheat Free". I went in and saw an assortment of buckwheat bun sandwiches as well as protein balls and vegan/gluten free cookies. Yum! I got the spicy tuna sandwich, not expecting much, but Holy Crap, that was the BEST GLUTEN FREE bun I've ever eaten. I'm so impressed. It was light, chewy, and best of all soft. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I hate that I love it so much and want to eat there all the time! Everything I've had here has been soooo amazingly yummy and being a gluten free vegetarian, that's saying something! The smoothies are all fantastic and the buckwheat biscuit sandwiches are delicious. If I could afford it I'd eat there everyday, as is, I pop in for a sandwich and smoothie once a week and load up on wheat free treats to tide me over till the next visit. I can't emphasize enough how great this food is - really, I've never fantasized about a gluten free muffin before but the chocolate banana ones at Anchor haunt my dreams! My husband and I went for a weekend in North / West Vancouver and ended up at this eatery. We got there around lunch time so I had a Nalu bowl - acai berry blend with strawberries, bananas, granola and bee pollen (so delicious), and my husband had a butter chicken wrap. We also has some squirrel balls, which are delicious little energy balls full on peanut butter, seeds, cranberries etc. All ingredients are organic and many are gluten free and sugar free. We liked this little place so much that we decided to go back for breakfast the next day. We had banana chocolate chip muffins (still hot from the oven), and we ordered some cookies to go for later on in the day. I also got some sugar free, gluten free granola that is made on site so that I could enjoy it later in the week. This place is excellent! The people that work there are awesome and so helpful! We will definitely be returning next time we are in West Van. read more

To me, the Anchor eatery is worth crossing the Lion's Gate Bridge for, especially for their juices and smoothies. They only used real ingredients, mostly fruits and veggies, and there are no fillers (such as crushed ice, sorbet, or whatever else people stain their smoothies with these days ). The combinations they use in their smoothies are great: I am usually pretty picky and want more of this or less of that at other places, but not at the Anchor. They really nailed it on the juices and smoothies. My favorite juice is the Popeye, and my favorite smoothie is the Green Envy. Mmmmm, Green Envy, I crave it just thinking about it. On top of that, their prices are very reasonable as far as juice and smoothies go. I also love their muffins. They are gluten free (if that matters to you), but regardless, they are the best muffins I have had, gluten-free or otherwise. The Voyageur cookie, a "healthy" cookie, is another addiction of mine. read more

The Anchor Eatery is connected to a coffee shop (whose name is escaping me but it is a chain coffee shop). I had high expectations as I've seen their Instagram and I like driving to West Van in the early morning, so I finally went in at 6:30 last week. I got the peanut butter monkey smoothie and it was not bad. Lots of seating (although I did get squished out of my table seat as this group of old ladies invaded my space so I had to move to the bar) and friendly staff. read more
