At first the katsu burger looked messy with the mayo, which made the crunchiness to be wanted. That said, it was really frickin good. If it had iceberg lettuce and less sauce we think it would be a solid 10. For the bacon burger, this had a lot of flavors that were simple and great. Service was quick, waited around 5 minutes for the burgers to come out. It's a smaller shop with 4 tables, so seating might be limited during rush hours. Highly recommend it for an affordable meal with lots of options! And if you're a burger lover, this place will not disappoint!

Install ceiling fans to move the air as well would help. Besides the customer is always right. Get the A/C fixed or UPGRADED. Otherwise the place is nice. The tables and chairs appear to be made from SOLID WOOD! Impressive quality. A good layout that is not loud or echoing. The wait staff was awesome. She was so apologetic about the heat. I felt bad for the workers in that hot environment. Service was prompt and drinks refilled in a timely manner. The order was right. It was a little slow to arrive but there was a large party in the main area, right of the front door. I ordered Teriyaki chicken. Sorry that was NOT TERIYAKI! It was BBQ sauce chicken. LEARN what teriyaki is. Try Dr Yoshida's sauce to marinade it atleast. Once I accepted my expectation of teriyaki was dashed, it was excellent. The chicken was moist and tender. Not like some that are tough old birds. It has a good, not to sweet BBQ, tomato sauce flavor. The dinner salad with it's croutons was great. The Thousand Island was homemade and good. The rice pilaf had real, large, tender chunks of carrots and was delicious. When they did not have white rice with the teriyaki I should have suspected something, yet the pilaf was excellent. The portions are HUGE! Be prepared to take some home or be filled! The pies looked great, but had NO room for them! Darn. A side note, the LOUNGE section WAS COOL like the restaurant should be.

The atmosphere is a standard bar experience, lots of coming and goings, laid back and fun. We didn't even realize until we were leaving that there is an actual giant tank with a piranha! Parking was fine but I imagine gets tight when busy.

Right off the bat, the hostess stood out. She was genuinely engaging and welcoming (wish I had caught her name), and we were seated immediately in the bar area. It was a little past the lunch rush--around 2 PM--so it was nice and relaxed, which made for a comfortable, easygoing vibe. We went back and forth trying to beat the lunch cutoff or just lean into the happy hour menu, and ended up doing a bit of both. We split a Caesar salad, which was fresh and really well done. For the main, we had the bacon avocado chicken wrap with tots--great flavor, definitely a solid choice. The only knock was the tots were a little on the cooling-off side and didn't quite hit the mark... although I still managed to finish them. To drink, I went with a Sky Kraken Pale Ale, which was excellent (and yes, there's photo evidence). Hey I'm retired now, I can drink at lunch! Overall, really enjoyable stop--good food, great service, and a laid-back atmosphere. We'd absolutely come back again. Solid 4 stars.

Aside from her, everything else is only average - food is ok, but the new menu lacks a lot. Several favorites were removed and not replaced with something equal. Portions are huge .. and pricey .. would appreciate options for 1/2 portions and smaller burger options (other than sliders). The competing restaurant across the street has caught on to this and it's fantastic! With that said though, the main reason I am writing this review is because of the lack of a sun shade over the front door which causes a painful 30-ish minutes if you happen to be there as the sun is going down. Crazy the owner won't install a shade despite many requests. Lastly, many people come to watch whatever game that is on that night -- but if the bar is full and you happen to get the end corner table by the patio door, you can't see a single TV ... yet there is a blank wall space on the wall to the right with an outlet ready and waiting.... And TVs aren't expensive these days. I suggest if you come, to come to the bar Tuesday-Friday when Shauna is working, but not when the sun is at eye level in the Fall. Be prepared for great service, but likely taking home half your meal. Would not recommend for a family dinner only because it's pricey.
