Very good bar food, we drove by so many times and finally stopped in on a weekday evening. The lady taking care of us was very friendly, even though it was busy, we were able to get seated and served quickly. We ordered onion rings and bacon cheeseburgers. After getting the order of onion rings we instantly regretted ordering the burgers, because the portion was huge and they were so tasty. The burgers were also huge, very good value for money. The atmosphere is a standard bar experience, lots of coming and goings, laid back and fun. We didn't even realize until we were leaving that there is an actual giant tank with a piranha! I'd give the Pla-Mor 4.5 stars but Yelp is gonna make me round up. This place is a fixture in the community. I remember sitting in the back of my parents car as a child driving by this place, and seeing the sign in the window that said "live piranha". They still have piranha. This is one of Washington's best dive bars. The service is always good. The drinks are always strong and served at a fair price. The food is outstanding and also reasonably priced. Come by and try your luck at some pool tabs or come in for the prime rib, special. Taco Tuesday's is really good! Play some golden tee golf and listen to some great tunes or just chat it up with the locals. This place oozes personality! Let me tell you about Pla-Mor Bar & Grill, where I keep POLITELY requesting their signature piranha sandwich (which they claim "isn't a thing" and "was never on the menu" and "sir, please stop asking about piranhas"), all while being distracted by their RIDICULOUSLY impressive alcohol collection. Upon entering (while submitting my daily written petition for piranha-based menu items), I was immediately struck by their wall of premium spirits that would make a master distiller weep tears of pure ethanol. Though I couldn't help but notice how their perfectly arranged bottles would make excellent housing for small, aggressive Amazonian fish. The bar menu (which mysteriously lacks ANY piranha options despite my weekly suggestion cards) showcases an absolutely bonkers selection of craft spirits. They've got bourbon that's been aged longer than most marriages, scotch that's old enough to have its own scotch, and vodka so pure it makes chemists question their life choices. Speaking of choices, would it kill them to add just ONE little piranha sandwich? I'm not asking for a whole school of them. Just a single, lightly breaded, possibly still-snapping sandwich. But NO, let's talk about their small-batch gin collection that's so extensive it needs its own ZIP code. Their craft cocktail program is basically liquid art - the bartenders are less mixologists and more booze scientists. Though I bet they could make an AMAZING piranha-tini if they'd just give it a chance. I've even provided detailed drawings of my proposed "Amazonian Angry Fish Burger." Five stars for the alcohol selection! (Minus one star for the continued lack of piranha options, but plus that star back because their whiskey selection is RIDICULOUS.) P.S. This place is known among locals as the "piranha bar" because of the giant piranhas in a tank inside the restaurant. Unfortunately when we were there, there was only one left but it was massive! Besides the piranhas, this place is just like any other dive bar. They serve dive bar food such as sandwiches, burgers, and fried foods, but they also serve ribeye steak which is unique. I ordered the western bacon cheeseburger ($15.50) which came with fries. It was massive and hit the spot! This is a cool dive bar that's open until midnight during the week and 2am on the weekends. Great food and service! The menu is not descriptive at all so hard to choose. Burgers are amazing. The fireball burger is spicy with a lot of jalapeños, melted gooey cheese and a great sauce. The fish and chips are crispy and well seasoned and the basic bacon cheeseburger was perfectly cooked and well salted. The fries are hot, salty and crispy. The onion rings were hot and crisp, tender inside and well salted too. This bar has been here forever and has always been a great local place to go and enjoy some great food and a great drink or beer. read more

Great divey place with great service and great food. Went there to try this place out the other day and it was pretty solid. Drinks were reasonably priced as was the food. I got the standard hamburger which hit the spot. It's pretty deep out there in Maple Valley so really caters to the locals there, but I drove from Renton and would do it again. Went for lunch next time I'll check out happy hour which is how I can give a 5 star grade. I recommend this place for sure. read more

I very much enjoyed this five star dive bar. Visited here with my cousins. I had beef dip sandwich and side salad with blue cheese dressing! This beautiful beef dip had an awesome au jus, was not salty! I also ordered a sampler appetizer which had mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, and onion rings. This place is famous, but if you ask me, it's famous for being the only bar in the middle of nowhere. I decided to check them out after the rave reviews for the burgers and this is my take. It was a really cold day and it was also really cold inside. Didn't help that it was below 50 and the beer delivery guy propped the door open to the place and cooler for close to 10 minutes. Sorry, I come from a place where you close doors behind you and when you want talk up women and play it cool, just do me a favor and shut the door first. Service was friendly, but slow. I don't dig places where you walk by me several times, before giving me a menu, taking my order or ask how my food is. You always put a beverage in front of someone at a bar, and if you are smart, you chase that with a menu. I'm really tired of asking for menus when I got out. Burger looked great, but I chose the burger dip, that Au Jus looked rich and salty in the photos and I had to try it. When the food came, the dip was flanked with golden brown fries that appeared to be cooked to perfection. First taste was 100% nasty. The fries were golden brown, but not crisp. I think someone either had some set aside that were no longer hot or they could be using the double sip technique to fry potatoes twice for crispness, but again, they weren't crisp either. Matter of fact that had a bad taste like they had been fried in Fish Grease and when you consider it was fish night, the night before, I'm convinced that's the case. If you don't have two fryers, you need to change the grease after fish night, those fries were disgusting. Burger was smokey, I liked that, but without fries, I just couldn't enjoy my plate. No doubt the burger was borderline legendary, but without hot crisp fries that don't taste like fish grease, the burger was half cocked at best. I don't think I'd come back, the fries were so bad, I just can't trust that my meal is hot or fresh. It' unfortunate, but just like the server said. Food taste better with a buzz and since I don't drink, I have to rely o my taste-buds and again, this time, they told me yuck, those fries really left a bad taste in my mouth, despite only having a few. I suspect whoever owns this place doesn't care, but when you got an A+ burger and F Fries, it's like a great taco with terrible rice and beans on the side. This place is one of the best eateries in WA. I read some reviews about the place, and the customers that have the habit of complaining excessively about the food or the servers, maybe they have other issues that are not related to the bar. The hamburgers are among the best by flavor and price, I understand that some other places have better quality meat or fancy walls, but I don't want to pay $28 dollars for a hamburger. Maple Valley is a family place, PlaMor is part of who we are. No fake anything, just pure and delicious food, and drinks, the gorgeous servers are busy as heck, but when they find the time they will stop and talk to all of us. I've mentioned the hamburgers twice so far, the daily specials are to die for as well. Their chef is gifted. Don't judge, stop by, enjoy the food, the drinks, and most importantly don't be afraid to make a new friend (or two) just by smiling and starting a conversation. Paid a visit to this spot a couple times based on a recommendation from a friend. Definitely one of the better bars (for food) I've tried. Service was prompt and friendly and the food is pretty good. I ordered the Western Bacon Burger which was cooked to a juicy medium-rare and the waffle fries were seasoned well and crispy. I don't drink so I can't give a review of actual "bar" things. Overall, if I end up in the area or driving past Pla-Mor, I'll make an effort to swing by for food. read more

Warning burgers are bigger then they appear! I was starving heading here and left stuffed. We caught the chef at the best time - when he was trying out new ideas! Back for the New Year. A fancy new menu, a new bartender in training. We'll drink was tasty. I tried something new. It's usually our go to on Fridays for Fish Friday. Fresh fish and chips and tasty chowder. Chowder is as good as Dukes, but half the price. Today I tried the Western BBQ burger. It has two onion rings and high quality bacon. You can split this burger if going for lunch. Well drinks from 1-3 are $4.25. Not bad at all. Wednesday and Saturdays after 4 get a 24 oz Ribeye steak, baked potato and excellent dinner salad. You can't beat the price. The crowd is 70% regulars ages 20's-70+. It's a true dive bar. The new cook is great. If you're in the area, come try it. Best local dive bar. Hubby still gets the pla-mor Deluxe. It's enough to share when we get the bowl of chowder. Here for the Apple cup. Where are the huskies? It's almost all Cougs here. ThIs place won an award for the best dive bar food. Service can be spotty. Parking is tough. This place is packed almost all the times. The staff works their butts off, but it's always packed! Service from the bartender sucked. we sat for about 10 min at the bar right next to the register and only got acknowledged when we asked if we were sitting in the wrong spot to order food which the bartender replied sorry I didn't see you at all (even though she walked by us like 4 times). she then told us to wait a minute. there was no line and it wasn't that busy. it seemed the only people she was helping were people that were probably regulars there. so if you're not a regular, probably don't expect good or even service at all unless you plan on asking to be helped. the burgers were good and used really fresh ingredients. 4.5/5 for the burgers read more

I had previously given Pla-Mor a five-star review, and yes, their burgers are good, but my experiences here the last couple of times have been pretty unacceptable in terms of service, so I feel I need to revise my previous review. Today for example, my husband and I stopped in to get breakfast and a Bloody Mary. We checked Google which showed they were open at 10:00 am. The open sign was on and the door was unlocked, but when we stepped in, the bar and restaurant area was empty. Sure, Todd was there in the kitchen prepping for the day, but we were not greeted at all. We sat at a table and waited. When another staff member (owner? manager?) came out from the kitchen, I swear she rolled her eyes and grumbled under her breath at the sight of us. She turned around and went back into the kitchen without greeting us either, so it was clear we were unwelcome. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for some of the staff here to be friendly and greet customers, it's an integral part of running a small business. We could easily have spent a lot of money at Pla-Mor this morning - we did end up spending about $70 at another establishment, and we likely won't return to Pla-Mor again. read more

Great burgers! A bit overpriced but they're good so worth a purchase every once in a while. But their appetizers are WAY WAY overpriced. Ordered beer buddies and mushrooms and they were $10 each. I literally got 10 mushrooms for $10 and 18 beer buddies. $10 total for both would have been reasonable. Their whiskey selection is decent. Occasionally it's better than decent. Mainly it's a dive bar with good bar food that's a bit overpriced. read more
