We were out running errands in Maple Valley and decided to stop into Hops n Drops since we've had good experiences at other locations--and this one didn't disappoint. Right off the bat, the hostess stood out. She was genuinely engaging and welcoming (wish I had caught her name), and we were seated immediately in the bar area. It was a little past the lunch rush--around 2 PM--so it was nice and relaxed, which made for a comfortable, easygoing vibe. We went back and forth trying to beat the lunch cutoff or just lean into the happy hour menu, and ended up doing a bit of both. We split a Caesar salad, which was fresh and really well done. For the main, we had the bacon avocado chicken wrap with tots--great flavor, definitely a solid choice. The only knock was the tots were a little on the cooling-off side and didn't quite hit the mark... although I still managed to finish them. To drink, I went with a Sky Kraken Pale Ale, which was excellent (and yes, there's photo evidence). Hey I'm retired now, I can drink at lunch! Overall, really enjoyable stop--good food, great service, and a laid-back atmosphere. We'd absolutely come back again. Solid 4 stars. read more

My friends I was visiting over the weekend brought me here for dinner on my first night in Washington State! Spacious and fun atmosphere, where families and friends can grab drinks and a good meal! Their appetizer- cheese dip and chips were delicious and a great start to kick off our meal. They had very interesting drink choices along with many of their beer options...I had to try one of their interesting drinks that tasted like pina colada martini- Dole Whiptiini! Their fries were battered crisp to perfection, the potato salad had all the picnic potato salad taste- flavor balanced perfectly in each bite, and my French dip sandwich was hearty with a delicious sauce to dip in. Pretty nice place to come for a quick bite. I came in the evening, around 8, and the place was pretty empty. Because of that service was pretty quick and decently attentive. I recently have been taking my gluten and dairy sensitivity more seriously and really appreciated the option of a gluten free menu. The people I was with ordered fried pickles (not gf) and I did try one of those and can say that they were fantastic!! So crunchy and hot and had fantastic ranch dipping sauce! For my main I ordered the bacon burger with a gluten free bun. It was quite delicious! It does come without cheese and is a bit dry because of that. However, if you were to dip it in some ranch or something that makes it really good! The gluten free bun was so yummy and had a nice toast and breadyness. Not my first time here but my first review. Been here several times for some burgers and Lemon Drops, but this was my first time here with my wife! We recently moved nearby in Maple Valley, and just wanted to grab a bite and drink, and thought none other than Hops. I've had plenty of burgers here but never any tacos. So I ordered the Fish Tacos, which came with Alaskan tempura cod, with cheeses and Chipotle salsa, flour tortillas, and some chips. Of course, we ordered the unique Lemon Drops, complete with their own ice cups. The taste was so divine. My wife ordered he Deluxe Burger w/ Fries, and man that beef patty was juicy and thick. We had great conversations, friendly service (our server was quite the comedian), and overall a relaxing environment for the evening. Enjoyed a Lemon drop in a neat frozen ice cone! We also tried the Thai Sriracha shrimp and queso dip on the Happy Hour menu. Both were delicious and we cleaned our plates. Visited a friend this weekend and she took us here for food. Great burgers, service, and atmosphere. Some food items could use improvement but overall good experience. My boyfriend and I ordered the mozzarella sticks as an app; for our mains, mushroom burger, french dip, side of mac and cheese and side of garlic fries. Mozzarella sticks were huge and perfectly crisp. Couldn't tell if they were frozen or homemade. Mushroom burger was a 10/10, super tender, flavorful, and portion size was nice. My boyfriend enjoyed his french dip, and his side of garlic fries were addicting! Best garlic fries I've ever had. Now with the mac and cheese, however, was really disappointing, mainly tasted like penne tossed in butter with melted grated cheddar cheese. It was boring and the texture sucked. We almost ordered a full size of one of their macs at the beginning but yeah no this was not it. We didn't get to try any of their brews since we were so full, but there's a great selection including a full bar. Overall would recommend, I'm still thinking about how good that burger was... Menus are available on the website as is ordering for pick up or delivery. We were a group of four adults and brought to a large booth in their pleasant dining area. There was plenty of room for our party with room to spare. Definitely would fit a fair sized family in one of these high back booths. The dining room is clean and the staff pleasant. Besides the hostess we interacted with our waiter, food and beverage runners. Everyone was pleasant, efficient and helpful. Staff stopped by a few times to be sure we had all we needed during our visit. The menu includes bar type comfort foods: Patty melt, grilled cheese, burgers, sandwiches, tacos and salads. Adult beverage suggestions to pair with your food choice are listed along side some of the menu items. Besides a full bar, they offer beer on tap and wines plus flavored lemonades and iced teas. Ordered via Ubereats to have breakfast in bed. Couldn't check in on Yelp because we are too far away. Oh well. Uber driver arrived sooner than expected. Food was warm, but toast and crispy hash browns were soggy. But for the most part everything was pretty tasty. I noticed the receipt to restaurant sent us vs. Ubereats. Although I have uber one, I was charged almost 20.00 for tax and fees, plus .49 delivery fee. Not sure why because this restaurant is only 15 mins away from my house. The one complaint my husband has was the sausage patty over powered the taste of the gravy. Other than that everything was good. I went to the place a couple months ago but forget to write a review. I gave only three stars then. We were with a group of women for a night out. I don't remember why only three stars. But for this order I gave them more. read more

We've been regular customers at the Maple Valley Restaurant, often visiting several times a week. On a recent visit, we ordered the Happy Hour half turkey sandwich and requested the dressing on the side. The waitress placed the order as requested, but the manager came over to inform us that the sandwich is pre-made in the morning and cannot be altered in any way due to corporate policy. We were surprised to learn that some menu items are pre-made with no flexibility for customization. Unfortunately, this policy meant the one item I wanted wasn't available in a way I could enjoy, so I opted not to eat. While we understand the need for efficiency during busy hours, it seems reasonable for a restaurant--especially one with many loyal patrons--to allow for simple modifications. As small business owners ourselves, we know the value of accommodating customer preferences when possible. Being told that the only alternative was a full sandwich (which I couldn't eat) was disappointing. It's situations like this that may cause us to reconsider if and how often we dine here. read more

Sure, sure... that's why there's a suspicious amount of carrots being delivered at dawn. Upon entering (while watching a staff member hastily stuff what DEFINITELY ISN'T a rabbit hutch into the supply closet), you'll be greeted by a host wearing a SUSPICIOUSLY LARGE "NO RABBITS HERE" button. Methinks they doth protest too much. The menu (which has been laminated to hide what I ASSUME were the original rabbit-based items) comes with SO MANY sworn affidavits about their rabbit-free status that it's getting weird. Their signature "Totally Not Rabbit Burger" was obviously renamed from something more... hoppy. I see you, Hops and Drops. I. See. You. The walls are PLASTERED with anti-rabbit-eating propaganda. Like, an UNCOMFORTABLE amount of "We Don't Serve Rabbit" posters. Why so defensive, hmmm? And what's with that suspicious thumping sound coming from the kitchen? Just "the ice maker," they say. Riiiiiight. Their beer list includes a section titled "WE ABSOLUTELY DON'T SERVE RABBIT" in such large letters it's basically screaming "WE TOTALLY SERVE RABBIT." The bartender, wearing a shirt that reads "Trust Me About The Rabbit Thing," keeps nervously glancing at the walk-in freezer. Five stars? Yes, if you're into ELABORATE COVER-UPS! P.S. If you say "What's up, doc?" three times in the bathroom mirror, they say a manager appears to show you yet ANOTHER notarized document about their rabbit-free status. Suspicious. P.P.S. Their weekly "Definitely Not Rabbit Stew Special" seems... questionable. P.P.P.S. Their website has a live feed of happy bunnies frolicking in meadows. TOO happy. Almost like they're trying to establish an alibi. P.P.P.P.S. Each table has a small placard reading: "We don't serve rabbit and we're not being coerced by Big Bunny to say this." That's exactly what someone being coerced by Big Bunny would say! Warning: The more they deny serving rabbit, the more suspicious it gets. Why does the chef have a subscription to "Rabbit Farmers Weekly"? For the articles? Double Warning: That herb garden out back has an AWFUL lot of rabbit-favorite plants. Coincidence? I THINK NOT. No lack of courtesy and smiles here at Hops n Drops- gentleman at the door opened with a welcoming and again when we left. Waitstaff were happy with smiles and suggestions for us. Lindsey knew her menu and was a pleasure to have as our waitress. We started off with drinks, the raspberry cooler is served in a cool little ice cup, no skimping on alcohol and was yummy. I had the Tony's BBQ Mac that was full of pulled pork and cheese. I liked the add on of pita to scoop with. We indulged and had donuts for dessert, small cinnamon sugar covered goodness that may only be over the top if they added some caramel sauce for dipping. This is a cute little 'burger joint' that always seems to be hopping! I preferred when you could get on their waiting list, but that is apparently no longer an option. They have a great menu that also includes smaller portion options WHICH I LOVE!! Like many, I'm a big fan of their iced martinis, especially the gummy bear flavors. She is very nice, when she found out it was our first time, she brought us out as small plate of their house made chips to try. Those chips are so good! We started with a Dr. Pepper and an Ice Lemon Drop cocktail. The cup of the Lemon Drop is made of ice. Pretty cool. My dad and I shared the hamburger for two. Had an excellent lunch here with hubby & my parents. We had a great sassy waitress. Sorry I didn't get her name. Short blond hair somewhere between 50-60 years old (?) I had the steak fajita salad and was happy with everything about it. Meat quality, portion size, amount of dressing & vegetables. Hubby had the shrimp Poboy sandwich and liked it a lot except that he thought it would benefit from a different type of bread. He got it with an extra side of the chipotle sauce. Highly recommended doing this if for no other reason than to dip your tater tots in. . Dad got the shrimp tacos and they looked like they had the right amount of shrimp per taco but I would have liked a little more shredded cabbage in them. Mom got an excellent turkey club sandwich that she could barely finish half of. Her fries that came with it were a nice portion that she shared a few with Dad and me and still had some left to go. Went in with friends yesterday for lunch and loved it. They have breakfast from 8-11am and the menu is big- they are strict about not ordering for lunch around that time. Coz we didn't know, we waited while grabbing drinks for the clock. Our waiter was so nice and gave us the lunch menus to be ready with the order. We got the 3 chicken Cajun fried sandwich (2 of them) and a prime rib dip which was amazing! Garlic fries was the most popular per waiter so went in with that for my burger. This is one of my dad and step moms favorite places to eat and they describe it as a nicer Applebees. When I saw the menu, I agree as they have an amalgamation of different food, all mostly American style. They are super famous for their lemonade and have a huge variety of flavors. They are also known for their drops, which are the lemonade flavors with vodka is an ice made glass. I had the blueberry lemonade and it comes in a HUGE glass. The blueberry was an amazing choice, it was sweet and delicious. They also put blueberries in it, must get one! To start, we had the queso dip. It was okay, I am a bigger fan of white queso over yellow but it was decent. We had the jalapeños on the side, which was a good call because they do not cut them up. There is taco meat, onions, and sour cream on the queso. They give you a large amount of queso for a small amount of chips. However, their chips are amazing, they season them and they are some of my favorite chips I've had. For dinner, I have the Cajun shrimp tacos. The shrimp was grilled and seasoned well. I wish there was a little less guac sauce as it over powered the other flavors of the taco. The plate came with the same chips and some salsa. The salsa was super tomato sauce like and bland, but the chips again were good. The Mac and cheese was delicious and not too heavy. The BBQ wrap was probably my favorite on the table. Been here for several months now and I see this place every day as I drive by. Decided to place a takeout order last week. It's located adjacent to the Fred Meyer shopping center in Maple Valley, and easily within walking distance of where I live. Ordered the French dip and tater tots as the side. The restaurant did a good job of communicating with me and it was only about 25 minutes later that I went to pick up the order The French dip was on a brioche roll, and the meat was tender and delicious. Sautéed onions were done perfectly. And what can you say about tater tots? They were delicious also and a nice change from french fries. A friend raves about this place, but he's a drinker and I find people that drink tend to give favorable reviews to food that isn't as good one would expect. Pictures showed sliced fried potatoes with eggs, meat and cheese. I got golf ball sized Yukon's, cut in calf and lightly friend, not even fried crisp. The eggs were dry, probably from being under the broiler and there was so little meat, I had to check my dish several time to verify it wasn't left out. Overall, the meal was filling, but it wasn't good, I wouldn't even call it average and as advised, there couldn't have been more than a tablespoon of meat in that scramble. I had weekend breakfast here and the service is prompt, efficient and yet friendly. Very good. The breakfast is good but I especially loved the smash potatoes. Really great potato flavor comes through. The scrambled eggs were done perfectly and the English muffin came nicely buttered with some jam packs. Very good breakfast. Retried Hops n Drops with a friend for lunch. I started with the Raspberry Cooler which was fine but not worth the $12.50 they are charging. I think the flavors should be more pronounced. My friend settled for the lager on tap as they were out of her first choice. They were out of a couple beers. For lunch I went with the tomato basil grilled cheese with tots. My friend had the BLT&A with tots. My grilled cheese had previously been removed from the menu which is when I stopped coming here. Happy to have it back. They did an excellent job with both the sandwich and the tots. Toasted bread with tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella and balsamic. Sweet, savory and comforting. The tots did not need any dipping sauce as the were salted just right. My friend enjoyed her BLT&A. It was served on a ciabatta roll which I think is the perfect vehicle for this sandwich. Love going here with friends just to catch up, drink, and eat some damn good food. For drinks, the Gummy Bear Martini is a drink i always recommend for people whenever they come down here. Its such an interesting concept of how they make the drink and how its served. You can get in just one flavor or mixed flavors. Personally, we love mixing Peach and Blackberry together. If you arent a martini person, but more of a beer person such as myself, i recommend their personal pale ale, Hop N Drops Pale Ale. Its light, airy, and smooth. For food, if we just came from the bar and want to dine for a bit of good food, we usually order onion rings and their quesadillas. Their quesadillas do NOT disappoint. Its four big pieces for two people to enjoy. Sometimes they tend to run out of onion rings towards the end of the night, so whenever that occurs, we just order up a basket of tater tots. If youre not here for appetizers and want a meal to fill you up, i recommend the Jalapeno Burger. Huge burger with a jalapeno on top. It can get a little messy and spicy so if you dont want the runs nor the mess, I recommend the street tacos. Doesnt quite taste exactly like authentic street tacos but their taste is definitely borderline a reminder that you need to pick up some good street tacos. Last notes for your convenience: Parking-wise, the parking lot here gets packed real quick during dinner time, that you might have to park towards Fred Meyer. However, the later the hours, depending on the day, the crowd will lessen. The staff has always been nice and brings out our food in a timely manner. They have also been respectful of our time here. Whether it be three hours or more, they accomodate accordingly so that you can keep chit-chatting/gossiping away... until they close. We came in on a busy night and the female brunette server was so attentive, nice and just a breathe of fresh air considering service at places since covid has been not the best (which is understandable given the circumstances) really wish I remembered her name.
