I was not impressed the flatbread pizza taste like crackers with tiny bits of canned chicken and drowned by ranch. I had been hiking earlier that morning and was extremely hungry. I was left with a tummy ache and gross out. But the service was great. I wish I got a burger instead they looked good. But flatbread needs a redo sorry. A-OK food, wonderful customer service. My colleague and I visited Hop n Drops after meetings around the Maple Valley area, and it was a nice experience, mostly from sitting outside on the back patio. But the food fell short for me. We came here for lunch, and the place was steady. There were some patrons dining inside, but most everyone was sitting outside and taking advantage of the sunny weather, as were we! Customer service was fantastic here. The hostess even watches for those entering the restaurant and holds the door as they greet you. The menu had a good amount of different items to choose from. I was conflicted getting a burger, which I heard was good, but didn't want anything too heavy since more meetings were to come. But I wanted fries because I saw on some pictures on Yelp that the fries looked like they were double-dipped/extra crunchy from the golden color, which is my vice. I asked our server for her favorite salad and she recommended the chicken tender salad, which is what I ordered, with a side of fries! (I had to.) Food didn't take long to get. And when I saw the fries I was disappointed to find that they weren't as golden or crispy as I thought they would be. I guess those posted pictures I saw were older; thus, gone are the days of double-dipped fries? Darn. $7 for a side of average fries. Take that to the bank or not. At least their ranch is good. No, really. Instead of honey mustard dressing for my salad, I had ranch with my salad and it tasted like the ranch was housemade. The iceberg lettuce tasted fresh, which I was happy about, since I am not a huge iceberg-lettuce-in-a-salad fan. But I was more so disappointed in how tiny the chicken was cut up, as I like more chunky chicken pieces in my salad. However, the proportions of this salad were off. I barely tasted the boiled egg that supposedly came with this salad. I don't think they used a whole egg or maybe even half. Bacon was also few. Overall, I tasted more lettuce than anything else. For a $14 salad, I could've found a more nutrient-rich and filling salad for less. Unfortunately, I would not recommend getting this. I can see why Hop n Drops is popular though. Everyone around was getting a burger, which may be what to get here. Plus, they have their own beers and cocktails, so I'm sure this is a fun place, especially with such friendly staff. But I can't say Hop n Drops would be my first choice for food when back in the area. read more

We have been eating here since 2019. For a period of time this was our go to family spot for dinner. Service has always been awesome. We noticed the food wasn't coming out consistent, often times the tots were coming out either burnt or too salty. Hard to justify spending over 17.00 for a burger that falls apart and salty sides. This is my first time at the maple valley hops. Food was good and the experience was good. I wasn't blown away but I wasn't royally let down. I was back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. I believe that 5 stars is when the food is good and the experience is great. I don't have anything substantial that caused me to have a bad experience here. It just wasn't a "great" experience. Our server was good, our food was good, our experience was good. This is one of those occasions where, when in doubt, don't give a false positive. That said, I chose to give 4 stars because I would come back if I were in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. For the yelp community, this is a good place to dine and drink. Nothing terrible here. Not a sub par experience but an all around good one. To get to that next level you need a great customer experience. I didn't get that feeling here. Food: so greasy the burgers fell apart and was more like a burger salad, yet had the most bland flavor of any burger I've ever eaten. The fries were somehow stale like they were microwaved. Oh and those $12 Icy drops, had 2 of them and can say safety there was no alcohol in those drinks. Service: abysmal to say the least. Sure they'd check in but it seemed like the worst thing in the world to them to do their job. No one there wanted to be there. Been coming here for years, was my go to in maple valley. Next thing I know the food and service were worse than McDonald's, but the worst part of all of it was the price jump. Within a couple months their prices went up like 25%. 4 drinks, 2 entrees and 1 appetizer and the bill was $128! Decent prices Sat in the bar but did not order alcohol. The server clearly wanted us to leave. She cashed us out and brought our check before we finished eating. Clearly a sign to leave. She hovered constantly and not in a pleasant way. The Cajun chicken had no seasoning or flavor. Lettuce and vegetables were fresh. The sautéed shrimp clearly cooked on one side only. This was the first time I have been here (or any Hops N Drops for that matter). This place is sort of like the RR only it costs a little more and doesn't suck. You get what you pay for here. I feel like it was certainly money well spent. Everything was absolutely perfect (and family friendly to boot). Service was prompt and friendly, the food came out quickly and was still hot. I got the Jalapeño burger with a slice of pineapple and fries. The burger was perfect and juicy. REAL Jalapeños and not crap pickled ones from a jar. For once, a burger advertised as spicy ACTUALLY HAD SOME KICK! :) The fries were crisp and fresh. My wife got the French dip and my daughter got a BLTA (without the T). I can't account for how good it *actually* was since I didn't eat it but I can say that they both raved about their sandwiches and didn't talk much while mowing them down. Instead of fries, my wife got a side salad and that too looked very fresh and appetizing. I got a hoppy beer that was to die for as well.. how could I resist with that in their name. Ordered breakfast for the family through DoorDash. The hash browns on two dishes were almost completely RAW. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy were exceptionally doughy, with uncooked spots in them and the sausage gravy was enough to turn your stomach. We have been customers for years and eaten pretty consistently there (almost weekly) for the past year and a half. The quality has been slipping, but this is unsafe food coming out of the kitchen. We drove by this place when exploring the area and just the name "Hops & Drops" became our new "Boats & Hoes." So, after repeating it like a million times, we finally tried this place and it is incredible. For a while, we went every Friday night while putting the menu on shuffle. Not one decision was disappointing. I even just ordered what was pictured on the website without knowing what it was and that was excellent (turned out to be the Fiesta Mac, I think). Okay. Now for the straight-faced recommends: Buffalo Mac + Cheese: I add jalapenos every time and usually eat it while standing up because that's how far I got through the front door after picking up food. Southwest Chicken Taquitos: Yes, this is an appetizer, but it will make one person very happy. Spicy Shrimp Po Boy: My wife's favorite. She's all about seafood (coming more from the sushi restaurant perspective) and has ordered this on repeat. My favorite part, really, is when we call to order. I would say this is a 5 star experience however the breakfast menu is nothing to write home about. It is standard, not super amazing in any way and pales in comparison to the lunch and dinner food. The service all around however is on point. 5 stars for their lunch/dinner food!! COVID update. They've increased their prices. Somehow for two non-alcoholic beverages and two meals the price came to a grand total of nearly $60, not even including the tip. Now, this is just ridiculous. Definitely not returning back here anytime if they continue to rip people off. Lastly... i notice on the appetizer menu that onion rings were $11. You know It prolly cost them 50¢ for the food supplies, then an additional $1.00 in labor for their $15/hour cook to deep fry these. Christ, that's over a 600% increase. I know we are in the weird times though this strange increase in food pricing is rather ridiculous. Hope they get it together and figure they need to not rip people off for mediocre food. I came to this establishment with high hopes and was majorly disappointed. My girlfriend got the chicken Caesar salad it came out and had no seasoning on the chicken. I ordered the Mac and cheese it came out in a cast iron skillet and I was excited but after one bite I realized I had my hopes to high. I remember when this place opened a few years ago. I was briefly in here for a few times, and I genuinely was impressed. Today I returned and realized that things have drastically changed!!! When we came in, the front received us and walked us to our table. It was still dusty with crumbs and the menu was filthy! We were greeted by a great server and was able to bring us waters. Over all the entire meal was decent. I do NOT recommend the chicken fingers, they were so so so bizarre looking, almost like chicken worms fried! Needless to say, I'd genuinely recommend this place for a few reasons! 1. The drinks and flavored lemonades are delicious! The mimosa with raspberry had floating pieces of raspberry. 2. The western burger was the perfect blend of barbecue and the crispy onion rounds were outstanding!!! Truly a perfect layer and even the fries were great! 3. The chocolate cake was CHOCOLATE! I was in shock and between the two of us, it was impossible to finish. I was in love. Hello all, well this was a let down front he word go. We went to Hop Jacks with the intent to have breakfast and found out that they only serve breakfast on Sat and Sunday. We drove 10 plus miles to eat breakfast only to find that we had to settle on lunch. The food was hot, but short on flavor, and our server treated us like she was too busy for us. I think given the chance to try this again, we might enjoy Hop Jacks better. I have 3 out of 5 stars because it could have been just me. read more
