Located on a golf course, many signs along the long drive onto the property tell drivers this is private property, members only. Yet the restaurant is open to the public. Parking is just past the building, across the road. A stairway leads up from the parking area to the crosswalk in front of the building. The interior is a large, open space. High ceilings. Big windows let in the light. No real décor to speak of though. Just one large etched glass window wall and big walls with a random, too small picture. They are missing an opportunity to create a warm inviting space. We sat at a high top table by the window and our waitress came over to take a drink order. She was adequate to the job. When the drinks arrived some time later we placed our lunch order. We were visiting with family we hadn't seen in some time and were not paying attention to the amount of time it took for the food to arrive, but it did feel like it took more time than the number of guests and the orders placed would require. They may have a one person kitchen at lunch which would account for this (I'm not sure, just guessing). The food quality was good as was the portion size. The menu includes healthy salad options and comfort food sandwiches plus some 'mains' that also fall in the comfort food category. Once our food arrived the waitress asked if we needed anything else and stopped by again when we were mostly done to ask if we wanted another drink or a box. I'd come back if invited. HOLY WOODLAND WONDERS! Let me tell you about The Grill in the Woods, where their elk steaks are so magnificent they've somehow attracted an unusually large number of track-suited gentleman practicing combat sports in the parking lot! Upon entering (while carefully navigating around three different impromptu judo matches), you'll notice their "Premium Wild Game" certification hanging next to what appears to be a "Best Eastern European Athletic Gathering Spot" award. The elk is so tender it brings tears to the eyes of men named Vladimir who keep doing roundhouse kicks by the dumpster. Their signature elk ribeye (sourced from "totally legitimate hunting expeditions") comes with a side of trying to explain why the parking lot has more Adidas stripes than a sporting goods store. The meat is aged to perfection while various gentlemen in matching Fila ensembles practice their throws against the building's exterior. The chef (who keeps having intense conversations in Russian with guys doing squat kicks) insists their elk procurement process is "completely normal" despite the convoy of black SUVs that arrives every Thursday at midnight. The meat locker has less security than the group of men doing synchronized martial arts warm-ups by the handicap spaces. Five stars for the elk! (And three black belts for whatever's happening in the loading zone!) P.S. If you hear someone yell "BLYAT!" that's just their... um... traditional elk preparation cry. P.P.S. Their wine list includes both fine reds and what appears to be an emergency supply of vodka for their "athletic parking lot clientele." P.P.P.S. Each table has a small placard reading: "Please do not feed the elk steaks to the mysterious men practicing sambo by the host stand." Warning: Do NOT ask about the correlation between their elk delivery schedule and the increase in track suit sales at the local mall. Double Warning: The management would like to remind you that their "No Grappling During Dinner Service" policy applies to everyone, even guys named Dmitri. Triple Warning: Yes, that's a professional wrestling mat in the parking lot. No, it's not part of the restaurant's amenities. Final Warning: Their slogan "Best Elk This Side of the Urals" was apparently not meant to be this accurate. P.S. The valet service has been suspended due to an ongoing territorial dispute with the impromptu martial arts academy that's formed by the bike racks. P.P.S. Their security camera footage is regularly requested by both the Fish & Wildlife Department AND the Olympic Judo Committee. P.P.P.S. The weekly special board now includes both elk preparations AND a schedule of parking lot sparring matches. Note: Management has clarified that the "Buy One Elk Steak, Get One Free Tracksuit" promotion was NOT their idea and they don't know how it started. Extra Note: The mysterious group of men insist they're just "elk enthusiasts" who happen to be really, really good at combat sports. We had not been into this establishment since COVID. We went for dinner and I could not believe how much it had degraded. The staff was allowed to wear a black shirt and jeans. Our waiter's shirt let you to see the underside of his stomach as he stood taking our order. The floors were covered in an oily film that made my feet slide as I walked in lobby and then to table. I don't really understand all the bad reviews here. This golf course is one of the top golf courses in WA. Also, the restaurant here is the bomb. I come here just to have a brunch/lunch/dinner. You won't have the quality of food here anywhere else. Jenna (sorry if I spell it wrong) is the best best waitress I've ever met from anywhere else. She will take care of whatever you need right away. I see lots of folks coming to this place because of her. She always goes above and beyond. I am so haply to have this course near by. This course should raise the price at least up to $150 during prime time compared to WA national and even chambers bay. I am telling you that you will definitely have great time here if you plan to golf and have some good food at the same time. read more

The salad was advertised "with bacon" and there were literally 8 slivers, less than a 1/4 slice of bacon. They were also very stingy with the unremarkable blue cheese dressing. This place has some of the best staff around, and a great beer selection. The recent remodel is great but the menu is what limits this place to 3 stars. Menu has some really good items, but zero appetizers, no soups and none of staples like fish and chips or a steak. Hopefully things will get better, used to be in our weekly rotation but with the limited menu it is now monthly. read more

We came a little late on a Sunday.. about 630pm. It was quiet inside and very lowkey. Our bartender/server was Doug. He was very friendly and helpful. The potstickers as an appetizer was so great and the sauce was amazing. We both ordered the Druid's steakhouse burger, which was enormous. The flavors really blend well and man were we stuffed. Never would have thought I'd come to a golf course to try a restaurant without actually playing a round, but here we are. I can't say anything about the service, nor compare to the 'post-remodel' as I've only stopped by this year for take-out, but the restaurant is bright and feels open with large windows overlooking the course. Staff is friendly and patiently walked me through some items on the menu. Their signature steakhouse burger is actually quite amazing; juicy and flavorful cooked to medium-rare. The steak fries and sweet potato fries are decent, run of the mill stuff. Their smoked brisket nachos looked amazing, but left more to be desired as the portion was more appetizer than shareable (I assume shareable to be large and 'shareable'). I don't drink so I can't say anything about the bar or it's selection. Minus one star because parking can be difficult and those god awful speedbumps are not lowered/exotic car friendly. read more

My waitress was Marena, I have to say I am disappointed. She barely stopped by my table, which could be understandable if it had been busy, but it was very slow. I had to go up to the counter and check myself out with a different waitress and ask for to-go boxes from a different waitress because she had not stopped by our table in 15+ minutes. The other people working were wonderful and very helpful, and yet I still feel undervalued as a guest. This was our first time going to Grill in the Woods and I'm sorry to say it will be our last time. My husband and I saw this place online and thought it looked really nice for a quiet dinner with a pretty view. The view is great, the food okay and the service needs a lot of improvement. To make it as short as I can, our server never asked us how our food was, never asked if we'd like a second drink, never cleared our plates and she actually sighed at my husband when he asked for a side of ranch dressing and some malt vinegar for his fish and chips. He actually had to get up from our table several times to flag her down. My husband also had to chase down our server for our check after we waited over 15 minutes after completing our meal. I ordered the Chop salad which boasts charred corn, thick sliced boar bacon and shaved asiago. My salad actually had cold corn (seemed to be from a can), the bacon was all fat (not an exaggeration) and the cheese was shredded and from a bag, I'm sure of it. On February 9, between 7 and 9 pm, My wife and I decided to make dinner easy tonight and chose the grill in the woods at druids glen golf course. We live in Remington, so it's only a 2 minute drive from our house. It's been a few months since we've been there, as we've been working through the death of one of our children. The last time we visited, we had a great experience with friendly staff, including the bartender who made and delivered our drinks. Tonight was much different...... there was an entirely new staff than last time. The person that met us to seat us was very young. He was talkative, but strangely kept his hands buried in his pockets. Once seated, we were immediately met by Melissa, our server. Melissa was new, in fact, she admitted she'd only been there for 3 days. We ordered our drinks, a margarita, standard, nothing fancy and an Empress 1908 Gin and tonic. The drinks arrived quickly, but not before Melissa returned and asked if my wife wanted a "vodka margarita" which we were confused. We've not heard of a Vodka Margarita, and we stated margarita were usually made with tequila. Melissa was very attentive, and was really the star of the night but it did not appear she was provided much support or training prior to her shifts. My Empress drink, was very weak, and was served in a tall glass. We could see the drinks being made and the young lady bartender displayed no routine in how the drinks were mixed. We watched as she made other drinks, and each glass seemed shorted by alcohol, with no consistency in the way she poured the drinks. My drink received just a brief shot of Gin, and only a quick splash of tequila for the margarita. When the drinks were served, my gin was nearly clear, and barely tasted of the purple 1908. My wife also complained there was so much mixer, she couldn't taste the tequila. Melissa served our food, and although we seemed to be left alone, she was apologetic and took care of us. Towards the end of our meal, we each ordered a second drink.... My empress this time was served in a smaller glass, and had a little more color, but if I'm paying the same price, I should at least be receiving the same volume. Unfortunately, I poured my smaller glass into my glass from my first drink, and it was only 3/4 full. My wife's margarita was so full of mix, that it was too sweet. We called Melissa back over and my wife ordered a shot of 1908, and tequila for our drinks at $6.00 a pop, just so we could enjoy our drinks. Sadly, we overhead the young bartender expressing her dissatisfaction to others at the bar, including other servers, that we didn't care for our drinks. Seriously this was unprofessional and unnecessary and coming from someone who on face value appeared to have no training or experience in making drinks, let alone an understanding of emotional intelligence (self awareness). We have been coming to this place since we moved in to Remington - 12 years ago. We've seen people come and go, name and menu changes. We saw Covid take its toll on really good servers, but we keep coming back. The truth is, we probably won't be back based on the mockery of the bartender. We were the only people in the bar area. Only one group of 5 was in the restaurant area on a Friday night, which should be your money maker nights. I can only guess that others have not had a very pleasant experience. read more

I hate having to leave this review, but I just took a look at my previous pictures and review from a few years back when this was Druid's Taphouse. My husband and I remember frequenting this restaurant even before that in 2007 when we first moved to this area. At that time, it was an actual steakhouse with different cuts of beef, plus other high-end entrees. Now, it's just bar food and not good bar food at that. It sucks saying this, because the staff is great. My husband and I know most of them from going here for years for just golf and drinks. I won't name the ladies here, but they know who they are and they do a fantastic job - the only reason for the two stars. I don't know what you picture when you think sandwich, but I at least hope for something between 2 slices of bread that can be picked up and bitten into. This was a 3/4 inch cross section of a sandwich. And that is all it was. For $16. No more than a third of a real sandwich, and impossible to pick up to eat because as I mentioned, this was a thin cross section of a sandwich laid on its side on a plate. For $16. It was tasty, and if it was a six dollar appetizer no problem. I felt insulted and taken advantage of.
