We have an excellent experience watching the game here because of the great service of Jenna. She's so sweet, warm and friendly. It has a new owner and they have an amazing menu selection now compared before. They have Halibut and Cod specials on Wednesdays and Friday nights. The atmosphere is positive, a lot of friendly people! I hope they can add calamari on appetizer selection. I highly recommend this place. read more

The food is decent for bar food. I was there about 1-1/2 hour before closing and it took awhile for the waitress to take my order, even though they were not busy. I also was sitting at a table with a huge hole in the ceiling from the rainstorm and it smelled musty. I didn't realize until I started eating that the smell was coming from the ceiling until I looked up. Why did they seat me there when there was plenty of seating elsewhere? Hopefully they have it repaired if I go there again. read more

Just my vibe. Pub atmosphere, good music playing, good food. A little hard to find as it accessed on the back side of the strip mall building, behind the Bartell's. Doesn't seem to be a kid friendly place, but great for people and couples who want a quiet breakfast (lunch, dinner and daily specials). Servers tend bar and wait tables, pretty friendly. read more

"Mostly Harmless... " Apogee Pub & Eatery. The food is excellent. The service is suspiciously excellent. So excellent, in fact, that one wonders whether the staff are familiar with human eating patterns only through theoretical models and instructional diagrams. My server appeared before I even knew I'd sat down. She had the faint whiff of someone who had studied the menu in a laboratory and had developed strong, evidence-based opinions about broasted chicken. She moved with that uncanny smoothness shared by elite waitstaff, synchronized swimmers, and highly trained infiltration units. Naturally, this raised questions. Concerns. Anxiety... These questions were not helped by the lights I keep seeing overhead. One never expects a UFO to follow maritime navigation rules, and yet the one above Apogee clearly featured red on the port side and green on the starboard, drifting through the night in a manner best described as "brazen," if not "downright cheeky." I've seen these craft often enough now that my only remaining surprise is how casual they are about it. It's like they've checked the HOA guidelines and found no explicit ban on interstellar loitering. The truth, I'm afraid, is obvious: Apogee is a front. Not the sneaky, clever front of a spy thriller, but the kind of front that's so boring and so ordinary that it becomes suspiciously ordinary. Underneath this humble Fairwood pub lies a facility of such staggering dimensions that one could imagine the Columbia Tower under the restaurant, upside-down, subterranean, and possibly humming. I don't mean this metaphorically. I mean the building descends. Way down. To depths where only mole people, ancient gods, or zoning officials dare tread. I'd file a report if anyone would take it seriously, but every time I explain that I'm far more observant when not medicated, people nod in that concerned way that signals they're about to change the subject. We used to love Apogee, and in fact, bought our house loving that it was nearby. We have frequented the place at least weekly, if not more, over the last 12 years. Despite this, the new owner never even spoke to us. I have also witnessed his friends receiving better service than other patrons. Since it changed hands, the quality has changed dramatically. The menu is now mostly bad Tex-Mex. The last bloody mary I had there was the worst I've ever had. The service is the slowest and worst it's ever been, and the food is less than mediocre. The last few times we went, the server all but ignored us until she brought the check. The very last time I went, I vomited in the parking lot, immediately after eating. Unfortunately, that was the last chance I had to give Apogee. I won't be back. read more

So after frequenting this place almost every Saturday night for years my family will no longer be eating here. The pub was recently sold to one of the bartenders and he decided to raise prices but didn't change prices on the menu or warn us during ordering. The old bait and switch which I believe is actually illegal. When called to the attention of the wait staff that the bill and menu prices didn't match the new owner said basically sorry not sorry and did NOT adjust the bill! Be warned. read more

We came in on Friday night as a party of 2 at 8:00. It was busy, but we were able to seat ourselves and have our orders in within the first 10 minutes. We loved the food! Their pizza is really delicious-we loved the combo. Their fish and chips were great without being too greasy or bready-whatever the batter was on the fish was a hit. Both were 5/5! We had a margarita and a gin and tonic. These were okay-they didn't wow us as much as the food. Apogee's is a great place to come and chill out after a hard day's work. We love them! read more

Known about this pub for like 30 years, just never went in for whatever reason. It's quite hidden, but came today for lunch figured I'd finally check it out. The server today was very sweet but seemed like she was ready to go home. Can't blame her for that. I got a personal combo pizza which was quite delicious! I will come back for a bar night sometime in the future cuz I love divey type bars. Only one pool table, but there's darts, arcade golf and an electronic jukebox on the wall so it's got potential for a good night imo. The age bracket appeared understandably 50+ but this was also 2pm on a Thursday. Really not much critical to say, I'll come have a drink sometime and update my review because it's quite big inside and I could see this bar being clutch if I lived nearby. I'll give it another shot sometime, I wonder if they carry el jimador blanco? That'd be great! We shall see. read more

The waitress was a very nice lady who was friendly and seemed to work very hard. I asked about the salad and said I definitely didn't want a Romain lettuce salad. And she assured me it wasn't. I had also ordered the special, which was supposed to be a Prime rib Sliced Philly sandwich. After what seemed to be a very long wait I was brought A large plate of romain salad. I asked the waitress about this and she said oh, they must have switched. It wasn't what I ordered it all. . then my Philly sandwich came and It was horrible. It wasn't prime rib at all, but little burnt pieces of some unrecognizable fatty meat along with the onions and peppers. Probably the worst Philly sandwich I've ever had. I've had a Philly sandwich up the street at the Subway shop and it was pretty good. But this special at the apogee was really pretty bad. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

If you live in the neighborhood and retired, come hang out here. Good people. Lots of first names being thrown around. The staff is friendly. I've been here three times, twice for beers and once for lunch. The lunch did me in. I had a cheeseburger basket with fries. The patty was so dry and flavorless. The fries were hot but not seasoned and very blah. Overall a terrible lunch for the price of $16.50. They have pool tables and you can pay $1 for the balls to come out. Lots of big screen TVs so you can watch games from anywhere. It is dark and musty. 21+ only. I don't think I'll return. Even for a drink. read more

They threw onions and tomatoes on the side to make it look like a sandwich. Burgers were just about the same. Tons of onions that were just thrown on the burger. Their woman's bathroom stinks badly for years... (go the right side bathroom best) Is their a plumber who can give them ideas on how to fix the smell in the left side bathroom? They are trying candles, I would advice against a candle around inebriated guests... They have 2 air fresheners and scented pine cones. This is a kid free diner and bar, it's directly behind Safeway in Fairwood- off Petrovisky and 140th. Wednesday's is halibut night- very good! I add the malt vinegar and lemon- superb! Usually free brownie day. Today they had a huge homemade pot pie- so good! Their BLT is pretty good- usually lots of bacon! Home made chili on Wednesday's- really good! I had to run a lot of errands in different cities where I started in Issaquah, went to Kent and Covington and was on my way to Bellevue and Redmond and drove through and stopped in Fairwood in Renton where I lived many years ago. I had not been in that area for along time and I saw many things and places had changed, but some had not. Apogee Pub and Eatery was still there even though many places had gone away. It seemed like many older and regular customers. I walked by one older gentleman who was sitting at the bar who smelled like he had a hygiene issue. I escaped to another part of the bar. I ordered their special omelet which was great--loaded and packed with many good ingredients. Hash browns were nice and crispy but the buttered toast was too burnt. Service from Missy was very good. It was good to reminisce and stop in an area that I rarely get to nowadays. read more

When we heard Apogee changed ownership, I sent a direct email hoping they would consider opening the restaurant to allow families access for breakfast. No response. Three days ago, my daughter celebrated her 21st birthday. We were so excited to try breakfast there after waiting for years. Yesterday, was the big day. We saw 2 waitresses and a handful of patrons. We finally made eye contact with a waitress and asked if we "seat ourselves" and she nodded. She came over and asked for ID. As my daughter reached for it, she asked "is that a vertical?" It was, since they mail the new license and it takes time to arrive. She then told us she couldn't serve us. We were there for breakfast. We weren't ordering drinks, but she said it was "company policy." I am a small business owner and a strong supporter of other small business owners. Apogee is one of very few breakfast spots in Fairwood and local families could benefit from having a no-fuss breakfast spot that isn't fast food. Maybe the new owner doesn't need the patronage. Perhaps the small staff can only handle a few customers at a time. I don't know why they were so willing to let our money walk out the door, but it ended up being great for us. We spent our $75 at New Local in Kent where our waitress was bubbly and fun. The food was amazing, we ended up having drinks from their tantalizing menu and Santa was there to raise money and collect toys for local children. After being ignored by the Apogee owner, this recent experience and reading Apogee reviews, we decided that we won't be back. There are many very good restaurants outside of Fairwood that welcome their patrons. It shouldn't be this hard to support a local business. read more

Finally tried this place out, trying the "Kobe" burger, side of garlic fries and personal hawaiian pizza. Cons of this experience: "kobe" burger is pricey at $13.69, If you want cheese and bacon its $5.19 more. After tax, you're looking at a $20 burger that's very greasy. I put quotations around Kobe because in my experience doesn't seem very Kobe. No sub caeser salad, but they can get you a dressing on the side for a very, bland iceberg lettuce salad. Personal pizza: got the hawaiian one and man, the dough was so bland and soft. Like school lunch pizza soft. what the heck. Barely any marinara. Never again. Pros: Nice service, the staff are very friendly. Garlic fries for a regular size at $4 was enough to share. These were good! The beers were cheap too, I think $5.19 for stella on tap, and guiness on tap was $5.75. Deals! Next time we'll probably just get garlic fries and get drunk. read more

So it has been about 5 years since I was here last. I didn't want to return after the last visit. I am so happy I gave them another chance. For starters they have remodeled the interior and now it looks like a classy sports bar. I wish they could do something with the outside because if definitely needs improving. Arrived at about 1:30p as a few groups of lunch patrons were leaving. We had our choice of quite a few tables & booths. We settled into a comfy booth. We were greeted and offered menus quickly. Waitress came back just a few minutes later to take beverage orders. They have a nice selection of draft beers on tap. Dad ordered the prawns & chips and loved them. I would consider ordering them sometime. I had a hard time deciding between the many salads they offer and settled on the Steak with house salad. A 10oz sirloin that was delicious! Very tender & juicy and perfectly cooked to order medium rare. The salad was crisp & cold. All iceberg lettuce it would be better with a mix of greens. Mom got the best meal of the day. The Club Sandwich. There must be a full pound of turkey & ham on that sucker! I think you could make 2 sandwiches out of all the meat. She took 1/2 of it and most of her fries to go. Our server Carrie was excellent. She did 2 checkbacks at appropriate times. One shortly after the food was delivered and a second when we might need something extra to drink or add on. I saw many other things on the menu that looked intriguing so I look forward to going back. read more

I really hate to write this review because we've been coming here for 30 years and usually enjoy it. But, tonight it was horrible. The place wasnt crowded at all. Tons of open tables, which didn't use to be the case on a Saturday night. We sat down, got menus pretty quick and then waited about 20 mins to have our order taken. A table that came in after us had their order taken before us but the waitress did come straight to us so not a big deal. Then, we waited, waited some more, and then still waited more. The table where the order was taken before us, they already had their food! So, looking at my watch, we had been there for an hour!! We decided to leave and my husband went to the bar to pay for his beer and I tracked down our waitress who said, "OH, I asked someone to cash you out and she didn't." I looked at her and told her that we haven't even eaten! She looked shocked. As my husband was at the bar paying, she comes out with our food! "I've got your food right here!" No, we're leaving, it's been an hour! Such a bad experience and I doubt we will return, EVER! read more

The Apogee has a new manager. We have been going there for years. I ordered a tuna sandwich there 2 nights ago and it had one quarter of the tuna on it that it usually has. Seriously! Barely enough to cover the bread. I know they must be bleeding money. No pull tabs , servers quitting left and right. Perhaps you should cut portions by a quarter not down to a quarter of the amount. We come from the east Renton highlands for your food . Now we may not make the drive. You are going to drive your customers away with these changes when you haven't established yourself yet. We come for the original wait staff and food portions which fit the prices. Poor planning and cutting portions is not the way to endear your self to customers that are used to good service and good food. It is not customers fault that the permits were evidently not ordered in time. read more

The food here is really good. We have eaten here a few times. In the past the service has not been the best. Tonight we stopped in for a beer. Ended up getting some bacon cheese fries and gizzard's. Now if you have seen my other reviews for gizzard's. I'm not much on them. Now I'm starting to come around. These where good, crunchy and not chewy. The bacon had great flavor and was crispy. Cut into nice small pieces and sprinkles all over the cheese fries. The cheese was a shredded cheddar melted all over. They did a great job 1/12/2019 Came in for the game. We got great service and the food was really good. I am watching the carbs and sugars so my order was...well needy. But their menu accommodates for that. You can order any burger with as a lettuce wrap. And I sub the fries for a side salad . The side salad was lettuce croutons and dressing. It was good lettuce, no white cores. I ditched the croutons and sparingly used the dressing. The burger with lettuce wrap was great although messy. The lettuce was a piece for each side. Just so you don't expect it to be wrapped like a JImmy Johns. My wife got the turkey wrap. Which she gets often and likes it. The bartender made me a sugar free type sprite out of soda water and meddled lime/lemons. She did a great job. read more

This is a no frills 21 and over sports pub (READ: tons of tvs) that serves large portions for breakfast (and lunch/dinner) and is pretty convenient when we just want to wake up & roll. It's standard fare, nothing spectacular. Their menu has a wide variety of breakfast options and they always have a daily breakfast special. The staff is friendly enough, not overly so. There are a lot of regulars there, so for many it's their neighborhood hang out. They do have ample seating and can accommodate a crowd. It's been around for so many years, it's a part of the backdrop of the neighborhood. read more

The Apogee is a charming local American fare bar that has been in the same place in Fairwood for hundreds of years seemingly. As a result the clientele skews older which is a great market for the Apogee since the neighborhood is made up of baby boomers predominantly. Lots of great beer on tap here, pool, darts, and tons of TV's. We often watch Seahawks games here. The food is standard American fare with burgers, wings, jumbo friend shrimp and steaks. Lots of different sandwiches including my wife's favorite the "Superbird". They also have a specialty "broasted chicken" that seems to be popular but it is not my favorite. It's dark in there and when you come outside, even after breakfast, it seems like you are exiting into a whole new universe of brightness.
