We came in on Saturday at 2:00 in the afternoon for a chill bite. We were craving our local greasy spoon. Our order was pretty straightforward-got a coffee and a hamburger with fries. So simple, and so good. Their food is good and our food was fresh. We were able to sit for a bit and be comfortable. Our waitress ROCKED-she was so professional and also creative-we loved the art that she shared with us. I love Rubattino's!

Crave-worthy hash browns and VIP toast! This hidden gem is your new brunch BFF. Ditch the chain restaurants and dive into this charming hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint. The diner vibes are real, the prices are wallet-friendly, and the portions are king-size. But the real hero here is the hash browns: crispy, fluffy edges with a perfectly soft center. Every. Single. Time. And can we talk about the buttered toast? Like, buttery perfection. Seriously, who butters your toast anymore? These guys get it. It's the little things, right? This spot is my go-to brunch haven, but it's definitely underrated. Spread the word! You won't regret it.

Food is typical diner fare with generous portions; service is excellent; prices are incredible. How do I not know about this place after living in the area for years?! Probably because I used to go to Randy's. (RIP Randy's.) While many restaurants pride themselves on fancy corned beef hash, I like the canned stuff. And when restaurants do serve the canned stuff, they get apologetic or defensive which is so unnecessary. Rubattino's does serve the canned stuff (hurray!) and they said that it's their one of their top three sellers (along with chicken fried steak and biscuit & gravy). The restaurant opens from 8a-2p everyday, serving just breakfast and lunch. The bar, aka the Owl room, opens til 10p sun-thu and 12a fri-sat. They also have a banquet room next door for small parties like birthdays and graduations.

Rubattino's is a place I always have to visit everytime in Renton. If at night I'll hit up the dark dive bar and listen to the jukebox all night with friends. But breakfast in the daytime is a true treat. I love the small town charm, old shake machines, vinyl booths and mostly the lovely waitress STACY! It's a very simple menu of American faves, but just an all over "feel good" down home place. Gotta check out that chicken fried steak or corned beef hash which is right outta the can.

Been going to the Owl Room for 20+ years and walking in there is like going back in time to the 1960's or 70's. Most everyone you meet seems to have had a rough life but are as friendly as can be. These people seem to live life for the now and could care less about tomorrow. Sounds good to me. Carry on Rubattino's!

I feel like I wanna throw up! It looks as if they did it on purpose, I feel sick .

I used to love this place their food is definitely good but I went there earlier today and discovered hair in my food, unfortunately I got to go boxes and didn't check my burger til I got home. I called and the bartender was very rude and acted like she couldn't help me ! I will be letting the health department know asap. Overall this is not a place for people of color ..

She has been going on and on about this "Fire Breather" burger for a bit. First things first, exceptionally clean and friendly place. Seated quickly and very attentive to us and the rest of the patrons there. Broad selection of food and adult beverages. Breakfast till 1:00 pm on Sat/Sun so it was hard for me to decide what I wanted as I had my mind set on the "Pub Club" but noticed that they had Chicken Fried Steak, oh the choices.... Not disappointed on the "Pub Club" it was Yumi! It was full of all the things that make a "Club Sandwich", the kicker was it had "pepper bacon" on it! My sandwich was piled with meat cheese, tomato, and lettuce. Now this is where it gets interesting, I added some of the aforementioned "Fire Breather Sauce" to it, just a bit. It is freakin Habanero Pepper Mayo(ish) sauce, WOW or should I say YEOW! Not just hot but exploding with flavor. As stated, my lunch partner had the "Fire Breather" burger w/ added Pepper Bacon and Avocado. It was more than a mouth full of dripping yum. Meat done perfectly, nice fresh avocado, thick pieces of pepper bacon done to perfection. After seeing and eating the pepper bacon I decided to take home a BLTA with cheddar cheese. The onion rings were some of the best I have had in a while. Beer was cold and wet! Overall, a great meal and you will too. The words of the day today are "Pepper Bacon"

Our server recommended the corned beef hash. It had bits of corned beef. I tried the Fiesta Scramble. Nice thick sourdough toast. The scramble was tasty. It came with jo-jo type potatoes (which are not a fav). Hubs got chicken fried steak. He's a bit of a connoisseur and said it was decent. This was a nice low key spot for weekend breakfast. It is 21+ only.

The diner feels so cozy and homey - old photos of the owner and customers and magnets his guests left are a nice touch. Friendly and attentive service despite the busyness.

You order at the front before being seated which means food arrives shortly after sitting down. With that noted, I wouldn't return to wait that long. First visit, to try a relatively famous spot, sure. Inside is a bit tight, but conversation can be had. My friends got the lumpia-silog and bistek-silog. Lumpia was tasty, but not particularly outstanding. Bistek was dry. The beef was tough to chew, seasoned alright on the outside but likely overcooked if not old. I opted for the oxtail silog which was delicious but pricey. Oxtail Silog - for $29, this plate definitely gets a double take. After waiting in the hour line, I figured I should commit for a tasty meal. Oxtail comes in a side bowl alongside a bit of hearty broth which the rice absorbs well. Meat is tender, falls off the bone, but pulling around oxtail bones isn't the simplest, so definitely have to bite around crevices. All in all, this plate was delicious but think it comes with a huge tourist tax I've had better value for oxtail plates. Ube Pancake Stack - four sizeable pancakes. Some pictures, including my own, don't do these justice. I can definitely get behind the hype. They're drenched in a rich ube sauce and there's plenty to go around. Honestly the ube flavor is present on the pancakes, but it feels relatively faint because the sauce is extremely sweet and flavorful, minimizing the pancake taste and expanding the gap between flavors. That being said, I think I would enjoy the pancakes with less sauce (or preferably, on the side).

I'll be honest--the service felt a bit odd when we first walked in. We were told we could wait a while to get seated at the dinning area or that we could seat ourselves at the bar. Since it was our first time, I wasn't sure if that meant the actual bar counter or tables in the bar area. When I asked for clarification, there was a bit of an awkward pause before someone finally explained we could sit at a table in the bar section. That said, once we got settled, the experience improved. The server who took care of us was very kind and attentive. I ordered my usual go-to at breakfast spots: chicken fried steak with a biscuit. It was really good--definitely hearty and comforting without being overly greasy. That said, it is a heavy meal (fried food plus gravy), so be prepared for a post-brunch nap. The biscuit looked a little underwhelming at first, but it actually tasted great. The overall vibe of the place is very much a local dive bar feel, and the service style matches that. As long as you go in with the right expectations, it makes for an enjoyable, laid-back brunch. Also worth noting--there's a decent amount of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, a solid spot for a casual, no-frills brunch.
