Went to this restaurant via a recommendation from someone. My first experience with Venezuelan food and it was a 5-star experience. I deliberately stayed away from the fried food because who doesn't love fried food. I felt that was too easy. I wanted to embrace the entire culture experience. The ambience is low and warm lighting, great seats, and clean restrooms. People don't talk about clean restrooms enough. I need to know. Service was nice and kind.
I came on a rainy afternoon. There was only one customer and a waiter at the bar. It felt a bit dark inside, but maybe it was going for this ambiance. I ordered Arepas Pabellon Criollo - arepa with shredded beef, cheese, black bean, plantain (1 piece) and rice. The shredded beef is flavor, and the whole thing is very filling. I also ordered a side of fried plantains, which was alright.
Paparepas serves a delicious Chicken Arepa that really stands out. What I loved most is that you can add up to five fillings, so it's easy to customize it exactly the way you like. The arepa was flavorful and very satisfying. They also have some great shareable items. The yuca golden cheese bites were fresh, crunchy, and a perfect appetizer. The restaurant offers three different sauces ranging from mild to hot, and they pair really well with the food, adding even more flavor. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions, which makes it a good spot if you want something tasty without spending too much. The staff was polite and welcoming. The interior has a traditional feel and is on the darker side, which gives it a cozy atmosphere. There is also a parking lot available, which makes it convenient to visit. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back again.
Been meaning to try this and the time has finally come! I love Arepas! We went during a quiet mid-day Wednesday and only a few people were either having late lunch or early dinner. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you, once you enter it's another vibe. The ambiance and vibe were chill with a lounge area next to the bar or you can opt for a quieter spot on the other side (not that the bar was loud). Our waiter was attentive and took the time to explain the items when I asked. Thanks to a fellow yelper, I was able to order the Arepa Pabellano - it's not on the menu. At least I didn't see it. It has plantains, fresca queso and black beans with shredded beef. I opt out on the beans, but it was still very delicious. The portion is humongous! My boyfriend chowed down his like it was nothing along with the cheese sticks. Don't need to say that, he, enjoyed it very very much. We will definitely be back! (plenty of parking if you're wondering)
Greeted and sat promptly (only customers when we arrived). Started with Flores y raices cocktails which were aesthetically pleasing and had a nice balance of flavors. Ordered bocados de yucca con queso which we loved so we ordered a second set, although centers were cold (fried frozen?) they were still tasty. Had tried their pabellon from their food truck which I love so I had to get that. Very tasty combination of plantain, rice, beans, and cilantro sauce. More patrons came in and staff did not check back otherwise we probably would have ordered more cocktails (water did not get refilled).
First time visit and will definitely come back! Our server was very informative about the menu, food arrived hot & fresh with a warm atmosphere. Happy hour Monday-Friday!

Founded in 2017, Paparepas recently opened in early 2025 in the Cascade neighborhood and made its triumphant transition from mobile cuisine to brick-and-mortar staple to the delight of many local neighbors and adoring fans. They have also expanded to Kent and Seattle! People do make special trips to come on over to eat their special brand of cultural flavor. From Tapas sharables like their Ceviche de Maracuya (Rockfish with citrus flavors and served with plantain chips) to full on entrees. Service was also done quickly! I ordered an Arroz Con Pollo (served with rice, black beans and a small side to roasted pla tain banana)! Yummy! Don't forget to also order signature cocktails and other beverages to accentuate your meal. Don't wait until the crowds come. Good food. I liked my creamy chicken with cheddar the most. It was also the least salty. Pork with cheddar was the saltiest. I wished the cheese came melted when served. Lots of tables available and there was karaoke. It took us a while to check out though.
Our party of four arrived around 5:30 PM on a Wednesday and were the first ones there; things picked up after 6:00 PM, though it remained comfortably busy. Finding the place was a bit tricky--thanks, Google Maps--but the experience was well worth it. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and every single one exceeded expectations. The appetizers, mains, and desserts were fantastic--highlights included the Camarones al Ajillo, Salmon, and Al Pastor. The Tequenos and Fried Plantains were great starters, but the desserts stole the show: the Churros were decadently filled with cream and paired with ice cream, the Pistachio Cloud tart was delicious, and the Quesillo tasted just like my mom's. Cilantro sauce is a must try! We even took some to-go orders because we enjoyed the food so much. While we didn't try the bar since no one in our group drinks, the service and atmosphere were wonderful. We'll definitely be back!

This was our first time here but I have seen their food trucks and advertising and wanted to give them a try. It honestly doesn't look like much from the outside and the location seems a bit off the beaten path but I'm not from Renton and don't know the area. The interior looks nothing like the exterior. It is very clean and inviting with plenty of seating plus a bar area. We were met right away and seated and when it came time to order, I asked our server to give us recommendations. She told us we should try two of the appetizers plus three main courses which we did. Everything was AMAZING and delicious! The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our time. We ended up having dessert as well and were so full when we walked out! I absolutely recommend this place!
10/10 experience at Paparepas Venezuelan Food! The pico de gallo with chips was hands down the highlight appetizer -- super fresh, flavorful, and honestly the best pico I've ever had. The garlic Parmesan fries were good too, but that pico really stole the show. We tried the shredded beef and cheese arepas (my first time ever having arepas!) and they were so warm, homey, and delicious. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, there was live music, and the ambiance was perfect for date night. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. The churros were amazing, and they even gave us a complimentary heart-shaped flan for Valentine's Day -- such a cute and thoughtful touch! We'll definitely be back
Everything down to the last drip of green sauce was top tier! My friends and I visited Paparepas recently and are still raving about this place! The service was great and the ambiance was so cute and chill! My all time favorite was their empanadas! Although every single dish we ordered was so good! My only regret is not asking for more of their famous green sauce and probably licking the plates when we were done lol Can't wait to try their happy hour!!!

I was curious about this restaurant for months before eventually coming in and regret not coming in sooner! The restaurant ambiance is unmatched and it's obvious they put lots of consideration and care into their design and food. We were so impressed with the empanadas (cheesy chicken and beef) and special sauces. The chicken salad arepas was packed with protein. We can't wait to come back to try their other dishes! Live music is from 7:30-9:30 pm Fri-Sat, followed by karaoke. read more
Paparepas, a Venezuelan restaurant, have several locations in the Seattle one; we went to the Renton one. Their flavors are excellent. Though we both liked our entrees, we both thought the protein quality of the mains is just ok. The winning dish is the mini arepas, hands down. I would order those mini arepa for my entree easily. This location is roomy. Service is warm; our server was helpful answering questions. The Food: Arepitas Fritas, $17 - 5+ Stars Four mini arepa in the appetizer section, these start with the same cornmeal (masa de maíz) base as the normal arepa, then topped with cheese, slow cooked beef, quail egg, and pink sauce. These bites are sooooo good! They sell the full-size arepas also, which will likely be a future meal. :) Platanos Fritos, $8 - 5 Stars Gotta love Latin foods with their plantains. Simple and delicious. Theirs are perfectly prepared. Camarones de Ajillo, $19 - 3.5 Stars These shrimps are cooked in garlic, herbs, and cream. The herb butter sauce is excellent, but the shrimps' quality is just ok. We liked it enough but will not order again. Asado Negro Tips, $23 - 3.5 Stars 8 oz of NY strip are cooked cubed in asado sauce, served with yuca fries and quasaca, a mini tomato and avocado salad. Again, the asado sauce is excellent, but the steak pieces are on the tough side. The yuca fries didn't stand out. This is also a 'liked it enough but won't order again' dish. read more
This place is a great find in a small residential area strip mall. Once you're inside, you feel like you've stepped into a modern urban cafe in a big city. The staff is always great, genuine smiles, and always offering help if you ever have a question. The craft cocktails are very creative and deserve a try if you stop in. Great presentations! The food is amazing, and we've been 3 times now and tried something different each time. All is well plated and great flavor. This last visit we ordered the ceviche appetizer that came with sweet potato fries and plantain chips. Neither of us can stop talking about it. Looking forward to our next visit!! read more

Amazing vibe, ambiance is awesome. Live music and felt like I had left Renton. The staff was super positive and sweet. Food was great as well. The service & dishes here are amazing!! The meat is tender and the rice & beans are so flavorful. My spicy margarita was delicious as well and pretty strong. The churros are filled with tres leches, chocolate, strawberry and a white cream that was very sweet. The ratio of filling to churro was perfect! I like how they were crispy but not too oily. Decor & ambiance here is very nice I love the paintings. I will definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

This new Venezuelan restaurant is amazing! The food was very good, I got the Pollo Santa Fe and it was delicious! The sauce over the chicken was very good and seasoned just perfectly. and the green beans were soft and tender! They have live music that plays every Friday night, which we were able to listen to and experience. Would definitely come back! read more

Me and my boyfriend are visiting seattle, and stumbled into this restaurant just by chance, but it has surpassed everything we have eaten so far. The food was ridiculously good with reasonable prices, and fantastic service. Pamela was our server and she was so kind, attentive, and gave us really great recommendations. Pamela (or the kitchen) timed out our food perfectly, so that one appetizer was cleared as the next came out. Also the atmosphere was awesome! Super clean, really great artwork, and warm lighting. I've been waiting to try this since I know the Kent location has very positive reviews! This location didn't have online pickup when I tried it (it does now), but parking and ordering was very simple. It's located on the side of the Cascade Shopping Center that is mostly vacant, so there's lots of places to park. It's 100% of a sit-down restaurant and there's lots of seating available, including a bar area. It had a pretty cozy feeling with the warm-colored lights and natural lighting. It really did seem like it was expected for people to dine in because there's no counter per-say for quick to-go ordering. I waited a minute at the entrance because there wasn't a place to go to and ask if I can just get it to-go, and there was only employee going around servicing diners. I did just end up going to a table to wait and they gave me an acknowledging smile before getting my order a couple of minutes later. I ordered the Beef Arepa and the Reina Pepiada Arepa (chicken salad + avocado) and it took about 10-15 minutes to come out. The attendant did ask what sauces I wanted (spicy, curry, and cilantro) and I opted for the latter two. It was my first time having an arepa and it did a really good job of holding in the moisture of the fillings while having a dense, not very starchy taste. It's a bit hard to describe because there wasn't much of a taste to it (not a bad thing) but it complimented the fillings really well. The beef and reina pepiada arepas, I believe, were intentionally cooked without much seasoning so people could use the sauces to match their tastes. The beef arepa was more seasoned than the reina pepiada arepa, though the latter had a bit more natural sweetness. I think what was a shame was that their cilantro sauce is definitely a stand-out. It matched well with both arepas that I wish there was an option to have them pre-coat them in it before packaging. So it did end up leaving much more to be desired because the sauce packet is tiny and isn't enough for one arepa, let alone two. The curry sauce was fine. It was a very faint curry taste that didn't add much to the arepa flavors. So overall, I could see myself going here and the prices, serving sizes, and service were all reasonable. I hope that they can implement an ordering counter for non-dine-in customers (and a couple of stray chairs for people to sit in) and a self-serve counter for sauces in the future! read more

This place was amazing we went twice in the same weekend after finding out about them! Food and drinks were amazing as well as the customer service. Everything we've tried off the menu so far has been really good! Ask your server for recommendations if you need to, everyone was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back read more

Have you ever wanted a simple menu that doesn't have 100 options for food but the options they do give you are all amazing and traditional with a twist possibly? This is it!!!!! I'm a Mexican American and honestly instantly fell in love with all the food we tried. We didn't have a single bad food, in fact they were all in our opinion a minimum 4/5 for taste with majority being a 5/5. Love the ambience, the price for the food, the portions and the amazing taste . Come here and you honestly won't regret it. This place deserves the success I hope it will receive. Do yourself a favor and order the mini arepitas. read more

I'm so excited that Paparepas opened up in our neighborhood. I've been several times now with various groups, and individually the prices are reasonable for amazing food in generous portions. The cocktail menu is well thought out. It's a smaller dining room but it is clean and we'll appointed. Service is good, albeit I would not recommend coming here in a hurry! We recently discovered they're doing a $28 all you can eat on Mondays that allows you to try all the flavors of their empanadas and arepas (although the pulled pork arepa is still the best), order extra of their curry sauce too, it's phenomenal. read more
