The Yelp page for this place led me astray. There were no oysters nor Brussels sprouts as shown on the page. This is a bar that's part of the Hyatt serving bar food: sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. That being said, I was quite impressed by their food. The fries were outstanding - crispy and tender with just a light touch of seasoning. Their Cali chicken sandwich was also very good - a juicy, large chicken breast on a brioche bun. They also have a good selection of beers and wines. The highlight, however, was their location, which is right by Lake Washington. The tables are self serve. Like other people have said the stand out aspect is the view and the ambience! My husband and I went to the bar to order our drink and go sit by the water, so I can't speak to the table service or the inside. The cycle continues - Dock and Drink is now in its summer mode! If you're looking for lakeside drinking this is a fabulous spot. Five star experience! See, the food has changed. No more sliders, tacos, fries, or any other bar food. There's teriyaki, oysters, and sushi. The first time this spring I got the sushi. It's vended sushi, prepackaged. I ordered the California roll and a nigiri package that had tuna. It was okay. The rice was unusually gummy in the California roll with a drier center than I am used to. The nigiri rice was a bit on the dry side, the fish ok. Personally I think it's between Uwajimaya prepackaged sushi and 7-11 prepackaged sushi if that's any gauge. I really love sushi, I really love Dock and Drink, so I was disappointed in the quality. I had higher expectations based on the experience I typically have at the property and envisioned at least Trapper's sushi quality but no, it wasn't. The second time I ordered the oysters because I absolutely love oysters. I haven't eaten an oyster I haven't loved and I have eaten my fair share of oysters. I was shocked to find one that I not only dislike but couldn't eat at all. Now, if you like super briney, bitter, salt water tasting oysters you will love these. They're fresh. They're local. I knew the Hyatt had expanded dining outdoors during COVID, but this was such a nice surprise to find a spot with plentiful outdoor seating (probably 200 seats), great vibe, good people watching, gorgeous views, & dog friendly. We visited on a Friday night. There was a musician playing through a city arts program, which added to the ambience. We got there around 5:45 and all tables with umbrellas were full, so prepare for full sun at least awhile. Ordering is all via app. They have beer, wine and cocktails. Also a cantina with a few food options, not extensive. Our initial drink order was quick and easy. We ordered a bunch of food. Chips & salsa, of course! Also, quesadilla, corn salad and ceviche. The chips were very good, thick & salty. Quesadilla was pretty good. I'm a huge ceviche fan, and I didn't love the ceviche, especially for $15. It was a small cup of whole shrimp, a couple cucumber slices, soaked in lime and jalapeño. No tomato or onion that I could see. It was basically a cup of marinated shrimp. I won't get it again. In case you were confused like me, this venue is located in Hyatt Regency. There's a parking lot (which validates for a few hours) that makes it a convenient short walk through the hotel to the outside. The venue is set up like a couple food trucks and a bar. There is seating near the bar that's covered and then outdoor seating, which is perfect for a sunny day. If you sit down to eat, you scan a QR code at the table and can see the menu and order through that. It's a great idea in theory for a contactless interaction. Key words: in theory. After struggling with the poor service, I finally placed an order through the site for food and drink. My drink arrived really quickly but my food did not. 45 minutes passed, my friend had received her food that she ordered around the same time, and I decided to ask what was going on. I was informed that the printer had run out of paper about when I had ordered so it seemed like my order hadn't gone through. The employee told me she'd put my order in immediately but that was it, in terms of an apology. Later on, I tried to order another drink via the site but I couldn't get good enough service to place the order. I really don't like to write negative review these days especially knowing how hard hospitality industry are these days. I hope this can be a constructive feedback and it can be improved on in the future. A couple of my girlfriends came here yesterday on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It was a super hot day. We grabbed our seat with an umbrella close by, knowing it is selfing seating. We cranked open the umbrella ourselves, and ordered with the QR code menu. We ordered oysters and 3 drinks. The oyster came quickly and the hostess told us our area will be close later in the evening but we can sit here for now as we still have drinks to come. We asked if we can stay just for an hour and she said yes. As we got our first sips of cocktails, another 2 employees came by and told us to leave immediately. No help was offered and we can't cancel as we just got our drinks. There were no other tables on the other side with umbrella so we sat in the sun. We then continue to open the box and tried our oysters. 5 of them were dark gray and tasted old. This place has lots of potential to be great as the view is spectacular and there's also wonderful live music. Came here around 5pm on a Saturday and although it was busy, we were able to find a table for the 4 of us (including my dog). The line was pretty fast and so was the service. We got the salmon nigiri, unagi roll and a tuna roll, all of which were good although my husband was surprised they came in plastic boxes like at Uwajimaya. Very old school Puget Sound visuals. However, the service is completely broken. Let me explain. They seem to be stuck in the pandemic -era service routine. Firstly, there is no table service (apparently). You have to order through your phone, while logged into their unsecured WiFi (which some Company phones inhibit). Every time I've visited, none of us have been able to process an order this way. When servers come by after waving them down typically more than two times, they usually do not return to take an order, or push us off to order at the bar or service counter. And good luck with that. The service counter treats customers like they are felons. It seems like 2020 "distance service" all over again. And it's executed horribly. It's a shame it's run like this. I came here for the views and mostly that. It is very expensive for what it is. I had a moscow mule and I'm pretty sure it was $15. That is outrageous. Their wines are in cans, they present them in cups but still. Of course, I always expect a bar or restaurant attached to a hotel to be more expensive but that just seemed really reaching. For that reason, I did not purchase anything more from here. You can order food from your table which is nice, but again those prices for sushi are not worth it in my opinion. Disappointed in the selection of appetizers. There should be more shareable snacks. How hard is it to have some chips and salsa, just chip, pretzels, nuts, or something? There are appetizers upstairs. Unfortunately it wasn't open when we arrived. Doesn't have to be fancy. I ordered the meat and cheese box. The items were skimpy and soggy. The nuts were totally inedible since they were soggy. Not enough crostini for items. Crostini were soggy too. Box needs more thought in pick of items and storage. The olives/peppers made the box too wet since it's paper. Cheese was a bunch of crumbs and a small slice of Brie. Plus no utensils or small plates to share. Just have to grab out of the box like a two year old digging for cheese crumbles to put on your crostini. Really wasn't worth the price. Could have gotten luchables and it would have been better. It's Juneuary in the Seattle area, and that means we get very excited for any moments of sunshine and warmth and  we're especially delighted when there are outdoor, lakefront places to enjoy the rare sunny days. As the pandemic slows down, we're also eager for outdoor spots with wide open spaces where we can get together and have drinks and food with friends again. Dock and Drink delivers on views, outdoor seating (250 seats according to information provided when we called to ask about crowds), sun/shade options, and (if you are an Eastsider like me) a convenient location. The summer time version of Dock and Drink offers tapas, tacos, sliders, fries, grilled cheese, and a variety of drinks. Unfortunately, all of the food items are expensive, small portions, and not super tasty. It's not fun to pay $90+ for street tacos, corn salad, grilled cheese, wings, and two (cans) roses when the portions are so darned small and the food is bland. I am aware of the adage that in places like this you are paying for the view, but come on, how hard is it to offer good flavor and decent portion sizes? Imagine what D&D could be if that was the case. In addition to the so-so fare, the experience of getting your food and beverages is clunky at best. You can either go and get your own, but you have to order food at one station and drinks at another. Are they seperate businesses? Is this intended for crowd control? And the other option is to use your phone to scan a QR code and order from the menu online. In our experience, the latter only works 50% of the time with at least one order getting stuck when we couldn't hit submit and there was no clear path to solve whatever was wrong. They do not take reservations, so it is first come first served for seating. There are adorable blue Adirondack chairs right by the water and lots of table seating, low and tall and shaded and open. The staff seemed friendly and efficient. Development around the Hyatt is pretty packed now that all the buildings are built, but the area is chock full of beautiful plantings and great views. I have a feeling folks living in the apartments there enjoy being there. It would be awesome if Peyrassol, a fantastic little family run restaurant on the street nearby, had an outdoor dining option instead. Their food and beverages are amazing and well worth your time and money. Bottom line, we will likely return to D&D for the lake side seating and a beverage but probably not for the food.
