It's Juneuary in the Seattle area, and that means we get very excited for any moments of sunshine and warmth and  we're especially delighted when there are outdoor, lakefront places to enjoy the rare sunny days. As the pandemic slows down, we're also eager for outdoor spots with wide open spaces where we can get together and have drinks and food with friends again. Dock and Drink delivers on views, outdoor seating (250 seats according to information provided when we called to ask about crowds), sun/shade options, and (if you are an Eastsider like me) a convenient location. The summer time version of Dock and Drink offers tapas, tacos, sliders, fries, grilled cheese, and a variety of drinks. Unfortunately, all of the food items are expensive, small portions, and not super tasty. It's not fun to pay $90+ for street tacos, corn salad, grilled cheese, wings, and two (cans) roses when the portions are so darned small and the food is bland. I am aware of the adage that in places like this you are paying for the view, but come on, how hard is it to offer good flavor and decent portion sizes? Imagine what D&D could be if that was the case. In addition to the so-so fare, the experience of getting your food and beverages is clunky at best. You can either go and get your own, but you have to order food at one station and drinks at another. Are they seperate businesses? Is this intended for crowd control? And the other option is to use your phone to scan a QR code and order from the menu online. In our experience, the latter only works 50% of the time with at least one order getting stuck when we couldn't hit submit and there was no clear path to solve whatever was wrong. They do not take reservations, so it is first come first served for seating. There are adorable blue Adirondack chairs right by the water and lots of table seating, low and tall and shaded and open. The staff seemed friendly and efficient. Development around the Hyatt is pretty packed now that all the buildings are built, but the area is chock full of beautiful plantings and great views. I have a feeling folks living in the apartments there enjoy being there. It would be awesome if Peyrassol, a fantastic little family run restaurant on the street nearby, had an outdoor dining option instead. Their food and beverages are amazing and well worth your time and money. Bottom line, we will likely return to D&D for the lake side seating and a beverage but probably not for the food. This is more of a drinks and snack place than a nice dinner experience. read more

Overall, about 3.5 stars. The food was decent. The highlight were the fries. I ordered the buffalo chicken slider and truffle fries. They were good, but a bit over priced for me personally. I did like how we were able to order by scanning the code and able to order and pay from our phones. They are efficient in bringing out our foods correctly. Dock and Drink is a great spot when the weather is nice. Sitting at the waterfront with my dog and friends is awesome, and there is lots of people/boat watching to be had! The drinks are expensive because of the location/ambiance and the fact that it is connected to a really nice waterfront hotel. The kids that work there are all, for the most part, what come to mind if you think of kids that grew up with boats who live off daddy's money- and are pretty rude (been there three times). I have friends that live nearby and its really fun to hang out there but the drink experience is lacking! read more

I was here for a Yelp event and bought an additional cocktail from the bar. I chatted with the bar staff and waitresses while at the bar and they were nice and friendly. Dock and Drink is a hidden treasure at the Southern tip of Lk Washington at the Hyatt. The venue is very unique. I can see how this place is so busy in the Summer with boats docking about 30 feet from the bar. Ahoy mateys! With all the rain we've been having lately, I was happy to be in the tent-enclosed area as it was dry and well lit. All the staff I interacted with while there were very friendly and attentive. Now I know of a new place to dock my boat in the Summer for a quick refreshment (I guess I need to buy a boat first!). read more

I came a couple times over the summer as they have a huge outdoor area and a great view of the lake. Parking in the garage was free and it was an easy spot to go to. Ordering is both easy and hard - you sit at a table, scan and order online all through your phone and they bring it out to you. While it was nice to be able to do that the minute you sit down, the ordering flow is a lot of steps and feels tedious. Everything I've had here was good though - quesadillas, tacos, etc. Kids love it too. Overall, I think this is a great place to go especially in the summer when you want to enjoy lake views and have plenty of room to sit, enjoy your food, and chat. read more

Scenery is fantastic. Cocktails are delicious. Service could be better. There's a lot of tables here and it's very busy, the staff seems short handed. I came with a party of 6 and had to poach for a table to accommodate. We weren't served any waters and had to go up to the bar to get drinks. As far as food, I was pleased with my Greek salad and enjoyed the basket of fries also. Burgers were only available as well done. This is a good place to people watch and enjoy some sunshine, but I wouldn't expect a quick bite. read more

The view is beautiful but I'm not a fan of their mandatory 20% service charge when they couldn't even bring the drinks to my table and you need to bus after you dined. They also did not provide a receipt even after I questioned their charge. The foods had nothing to do with them. They just grab them from the food truck parked close by. The view and the walkway is open to public, so I probably will not return to this venue. read more

Great spot for sunset and water view outdoor dining! We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and friendly service as well. We ordered the truffle, poutine, loaded(personal fav) fries, Buffalo chicken slider, popper grilled cheese sandwich, and fizzy peach mocktail drink. The fries were delicious and very filling as a meal itself. Some of the food pricing was a bit expensive for me personally. Hoping that they offer more options on their menu soon! Nice place to sit by Lake Washington and enjoy the views and boats as they pass by or stop at the dock. The menu is limited but I enjoyed my quinoa salad. It was fresh. A damn QR Code with no server interactions, $15 drinks(no matter what drink)and added 20% gratuity for EVERY transaction, trash selection of food choices, servers that don't care, no atmosphere, it just seems like people do not know what to do with this great venue. You need a happy hour, a good seafood selection being in the Pacific Northwest and having a venue on the water, you need fish and chips, you need chowder, you need a good oysters from Taylor Shellfish farms, you need crab, you need Lobster rolls, you need a DJ to keep the atmosphere going and for people to want to come and have a great time, you need a great brunch with specials on Bloody Marys and mimosas, you need a reasonably priced well drinks, beer and wine that is served in glasses not in cans. Hallelujah! Dock & Drink is back! Great menu this summer. Vegetarians and vegans are covered.... gluten-free vegan requires a little work... would be great to see a gluten-free bun or gluten-free fries option, or a quinoa option instead of Farro on the grilled veg salad. But... I'll take it! Way better than the poke menu last summer! And as much as I loved the butternut squash vegan tacos, I love the Mediterranean theme this summer. Love that this place reinvents itself as the seasons change however I would like the managers to revisit their decision to not have TVs for their winter version. Mostly on Yelp for good reviews but every 3 years or so I feel it's my duty to warn people. This place is all about location. You're paying for the view which honestly can be better in Kirkland or Seattle waterfronts. I had the al pastor taco. For 5 dollars per street taco the meat was extremely bland. The carne asada quesadilla for 7 dollars was a bit better meat wise but the cheese selection not so much. It tasted like white American cheese. The ceviche was fresh and had nice ingredients but again lacked some salt & seasoning. I had 3 different drinks and they were okay. Wish I could get my $80 back. I haven't been this disappointed in a restaurant in years. Glad I drove instead of boated to this place. For boaters a better place on lake WA to Dock & drink/dine would be Blu Water bistro. read more

I'm not sure if the policy will be changed in the future but right now they have no way of adding your name for a table. We ended up leaving after 20 minutes because people were literally hovering over tables to be the next to sit down when another party was finished. It was chaos and felt like a middle school lunch room. This was our second time here. The first time was on a weekday. We decided to bring some friends back to try on a weekend. Really good place to Dock and get Drinks/food. However, the food lacks flavor and its overpriced. We get it! You pay for the convenience of docking and getting food in such a nice area. But, this place is not what it used to be. We stopped frequently last year during the pandemic madness and service was good, fast and efficient. This year, its chaos and it turned into a daily unorganized summer party. We stopped by a few weeks back and ordered a few drinks. Their margaritas are not made fresh to the order. We got four margaritas in a pre-made "drinking bag" and they had a strong BPA/BPS taste. We were very disappointed with the service, the plastic smell/taste of our margaritas and the 40 minute wait for three $5 dollar mini tacos. We ended up tossing our drinks. Parking continues to be a problem. Servers claim incorrectly that parking is free all weekend. It is not. You will be charged Fridays even though the server claimed this very evening it was! Also getting your parking validated often does nothing and they will charge you anyway. The hotel makes excuses for the parking people and blame shifts. The restaurant has no clue. And you pay the price. Pro tip: go to the front desk at the hotel and ask for the manager to cover your parking. They will. This is a classic example of poor communication between the hotel the restaurant and the parking garage. Perhaps management should up their game and learn to set proper expectations with visitors. My new hangout spot! It's so great here that I want to keep it to myself haha this place is the perfect hangout spot outside and right next to the beach. The have a band play here during the weekends which is awesome. They also have food you can order from a food truck. I highly highly recommend! read more

This is a solid place. Predictable, safe, respectable and nothing will annoy you. Its exactly what you hope or expect when you are staying at a Hyatt and don't want to leave to find food. It's a modern room designed as a lounge. They had an outdoor area that was covered and heated. It was 50 degrees and raining and I was comfortable with no coat. The drinks were good and the bartenders were funny and willing to have a conversation. Service was good. They had a nice house Cabernet that I sipped on and enjoyed. I also had the meatballs, a flatbread and charcuterie. None of these apps rook risks or were very innovative, but they were consistent, tasted like they would appease the broadest number of people. Overall, solid. It's a place where if you went to each table and asked them how it is, everyone would give you the resounding "it's good" while people nods their heads. You'd hear no complaints, you'd hear no people saying it was the best meal of their month. I'd go again if I stayed there or wanted an early evening casual sit down to network or connect with an old friend in a fun quiet lounge. read more

I was excited to try Dock & Drink for SRW but overall I was highly disappointed. We arrived at 4:57pm for our 5pm reservation. We entered on the dock area rather than the hotel entrance. We told the staff we saw that we had reservations, they just told us to sit anywhere we'd like. Afterwards our server came and gave us our menu. I asked for the SRW menu, she said she would give it to us but we couldn't order from it until 5pm to which I responded with it was 5pm. She gave it to us and walked away. While waiting to order, a host asked us if we had reservations and what the name was to check us off. The server came back and we proceeded to order from the SRW menu. She told us we couldn't order from it. I was irritated at this time and told her it was past 5pm. She just responded with "oh." We spent the next 20 mins waiting for our appetizers; 30 mins after appetizers dishes were cleared from our table for entree; 20 mins after our entree dishes were cleared from our table for dessert; and 20 mins after our dessert dishes were cleared from our table for our check. Our server was not attentive at all and we kept having to flag her down for more water (cause I needed water to chew down the horrible food) and as she served other guests (predominately white), she didn't treat us with the same treatment. What a shame as she herself was AAPI. Ordered the following: Caesar Salad: very few lettuce and tons of Parmesan (see pictures) it was swimming in it. Very little dressing, I just ate lettuce and Parmesan. Margherita Pizza: I love Margherita Pizza but their version of it was disappointed. They handed me packaged Parmesan and chili flakes (like the ones you'd get at Costco!). The pizza was made with flat bread. It was too sweet and they used cherry tomatoes. Short Rib Ragu: Super sweet, just pulled pork thrown in. Not short rib at all. Pasta was soggy. Carbonara: Super sweet from the sauce & pasta was drenched in the sauce that it was soggy. House made Strawberry Gelato: It was hard as an ice break. It was more of an strawberry sorbet than it was gelato. Chocolate Torte: The smallest size of cake slice I ever received in a restaurant. The chocolate decoration that came with it was bigger than the slice itself! The chocolate decoration tasted like crappy milk chocolate. It was so gross. The cake itself was super rich, I wished it came with more raspberry sauce to offset. The food was just okay. Service was crappy. I would never come back. read more

Dock and Drink is a hidden gem in Renton. My husband and I loved going here during the summer time when it was all outdoor seating with a wonderful view of the water and comfortable patio table and chairs. We brought our dog as well and enjoyed a family outing with stiff drinks and delicious food. They are VERY dog friendly, which we love love love. It can get crowded but it doesn't ever feel overwhelming. Service is always very good no matter where you go, whether it's the bar, the Cantina for tacos, and at the tables where you are taken care of by a server. Sheena is the assistant manager at Dock and Drink and customer satisfaction is her #1 priority. Her work and service are very impressive. I can't wait for it to be open during the summer again but until then, we will be trying out their heated outdoor seating in tents during the cooler seasons! We are very excited to try it out! Came in for dinner because they currently have outdoor seating. The atmosphere is really cute for a tent, makes you feel fancy even if it is in a tent! The food is fantastic. I really enjoyed the Butcher's cut. Seasoned well, cooked to perfection. The clams are to die for, very simple, fresh, bursting with flavor. I recommend ordered a baguettes to soak up all the extra sauce!! Service is always fantastic there. They are very clean, everyone where's masks and social distances. The tables are spaced well so there is enough space for everyone without being overcrowded and allowing for ample air flow. read more

The only thing is they don't have HH and I know we're in a pandemic and everybody is struggling but maybe instead of HH they could have specials or idk themed nights idk I'm grasping lol. The drinks were club prices so if you're cool with that then great. They did have a menu which I believe was the waters table menu (restaurant at the Hyatt). The food was okay. It's right on the water, and don't worry they got the heater on HIGH! which I loved. Too many places are doing the outdoor tent seating with barely any heat so I appreciate Dock and Drink for sparing no expense at keeping their customers warm. We were happy to find this bar open on a Sunday. Tons of seating and big screens everywhere for the game. We sat on the little couches in front of the bar and had a few cocktails. Live music on Thursday and Friday is awesome, however you could get more people if you offer up local sports teams on television before and after the performances. The food menu needs to increase. I really have mixed emotions about my first visit to Dock & Drink. Maria, upstairs in the restaurant was amazing. She sat me at the bar for a glass of wine while I waited for Dock & Drink to open at 3PM, (google times are very wrong.) once seated outside on the patio, water front the atmosphere was amazing. Clean, fresh, inviting, sunny and warm. I ordered a glass of Sav Blanc, 17 minutes later, instead of asking me if Chardonnay would be fine she just brought it to me. Then walked off. (Can I order food?) I ordered the quinoa salad add chicken and feta cheese. 23 minutes later my salad came to me with out the chicken or the feta. They took it away and 17 minutes later brought me the salad with chicken but the feta was missing in action. I don't even bother. The salad is great. I would come back again for the salad if I could bring my own utensils. The camping, plastic, in a wrapper with a wet wipe sized napkin just doesn't cut it. I'd love for my fork to hold more than just a black bean or corn kernel at a time. The staff was super nice. I am definitely cutting slack today as it's one of the first warm days in Seattle on the water. But I have to be honest there are a few deciding factors that don't sit well with me. I will be back.
