I am so glad someone recommended this place to me because I would have never stumbled upon this place on my own. The shop is situated in Redmond business park and tucked in the middle. I love that they bake them on the spot. The empanadas are super fresh and good size. Well worth the 15-20 min wait. It seems like a lot of people call and order ahead - smart. My only regret is that I didn't order the chimichurri sauce to go with the empanadas ($1 for chimichurri) because I think that would have made it that much better.
This place rocks. We have been buying the frozen empanadas. Gotta say we've been doing this and the service is always fablous. The ambiance is great since it's a family run enterprise.
I had heard about Rocky's Empanadas for the longest time, so I had bookmarked this awhile back and finally did I get my lazy butt to Rocky's one evening while I was in Redmond. I can definitely see why people love this place. I visited on a Tuesday evening. I was a little confused and lost when I was driving here, as Rocky's is located in a business park in Redmond. You would never expect for them to be located here, as there hardly are any retailers here. It's mostly office buildings from what it looked like around. This place is simply take-out only. I ordered three empanadas: spinach and cheese, the classic meat and grilled chicken. They were a little over three bucks each. After I paid, I was told that it would be half an hour for it to be ready, which I was shocked to hear. I must've made a face because the friendly employee said he could refund me if I didn't/couldn't wait that long, but I said that was okay. For 30 minutes I waited out in the parking lot, as there is no seating inside. It seemed like others who ordered from Rocky's was doing the same thing. While waiting in the lot, I saw several people getting takeout from here. This place gets busy, even on a Tuesday night! I highly recommend not being me and ordering ahead of time. After half an hour though, my takeout was ready and the empanadas were hot. I waited until I got home to eat them, and they were still fresh and hot. I love that they bake these babies soon after it's ordered. Of the three flavors I chose, I liked the spinach and cheese the best. The melted cheese really helped add flavor. The classic meat was ground beef and would say I would've liked this more had I remembered to purchase their chimichurri sauce that they recommend with the empanadas. Without it, the meat tasted a little dry. Much could be said for the grilled chicken; it needed some sauce to it, as it also tasted more on the dry side. The shell/dough of all the empanadas were perfectly baked, with a nice crunchy bite to all of them, but were soft and easy to eat. I would come back and try different flavors, which they have a lot to choose from, with a handful of meat and vegetarian options. But don't forget the chimichurri sauce and order ahead of time to avoid waiting! Glad to have finally checked out this beloved spot.
OH 'Em Gee!! These are BOMB! Empanada heaven! Stopped by on my way home from work to pick up some empanadas for evening snack. Now I'm worried this will become a weekday ritual! I got the spinach and cheese, onion and cheese and the caprese with a side of their spicy chimichuri sauce. They were all finger licking good! Fresh, hot off the oven and each had a shape of its own. So reasonably priced at $3 each. This is a take-out only establishment. Takes 15 min from the time you order, so I would recommend placing the order on the phone and it'll be ready when you get there. Would be nice to see a potato and jalapeño or a curry flavor!
Food is amazing. I loved the steak the most cause you can really taste the meat. The chicken and ham is also good. As well as the ground beef. Got some nice little veggies in the chicken and beef. The price is good for what you get. The sauce kicks too if you get it spicy.
SO EXCITED TO have found a place that serves my favorite comfort food treat. My grandma is from Argentina and made these for us all the time growing up. I have also tried empanadas across many other states including: Gaucho Grill in Los Angeles, the Cuban restaurant in Woodinville, NY and NJ (various Cuban restaurants), and even at convenient stores all over Miami Beach (that are always too greasy and not even 10% as good as Rocky's empanadas.) Rocky's pockets of deliciousness are incredible! This is a family run business located in an Office park on Redmond Way near Whole Foods. Their family is so beautiful, energetic and friendly. Despite never having met me before, Rocky's wife waived to me as she walked into their office. I thought that was super nice. It was also fun to see their little kids playing in the space just outside of their commercial kitchen! Eaten hot out of the oven (without rewarming), I may like these empanadas even better than pizza; These empanadas were hand made perfection. I was so full after eating two of them on my ride home, I had to take a break. After trying the ham and cheese empanada in my car, I went back inside and bought two more to cook for breakfast the next I was pleased to find that their frozen empanadas taste exactly the same warmed up at home the next day. There was literally no difference between the ones I picked up heated and the ones I made the next morning. Clearly, everything from the pricing, packaging, cooking/warming instructions, shaping of the different empanadas to the perfectly sized, balanced and seasoned ingredients has been really well thought out. My favorites were the HAM AND CHEESE AND SIRLOIN STEAK. HAM AND CHEESE WOULD DEFINITELY BE MY FAVORITE with its delicious saltiness and amazing cheese! Still, the sirloin steak empanada with steak and onions was perfectly seasoned and the meat was tender and fresh . I brought some home to my mom (who is Argentinian). She was most impressed by the dough being soft, perfectly fluffy and non-greasy. Although the website says that they don't have the desert empanadas available, they do. I will definitely be back to buy family snacks as well as to purchase appetizers for dinner parties and work events. These would be an extreme hit in my office if I brought them in.

I ordered five to start with and fell in love with the empanada's dough. It's soft inside but crispy on the outside. The empanadas are jam-packed with filling which ensures that each bite will have a bit of filling. I placed my order online using their website which I found super easy to use since it had pictures and a detailed menu. After I placed my order I waited about 15-20 minutes for my empanadas to be ready. I loved the waiting because that meant the empanadas were being baked in the moment. They were so fresh and tasty. I highly recommend you order the ham and cheese empanada and the onion and cheese empanada. They were my absolute favorite.
Lovely empanadas! The dough is amazing; golden and delicious! Favorite fillings: mushroom, ham, steak and caprese. Sauce is not as easy as before, I used salsa instead. Still great take out option! Definitely recommend it!
I have seen/heard of this place through Instagram, Facebook and Yelp and all have raving reviews, and I can see why. We came here for lunch as we were in the area and decided to check it out. First, the location was weird as it's not in a complex filled with non-food stuff, so we were confused if we were at the right place. They currently have online ordering or you can also order there but it can take up to 15 minutes wait time so I would recommend ordering ahead of time. We got the classic beef, the humita, and the spinach and cheese. They also had sweet empanada so we tried the banana du leche. Each empanada was decent size and they were piping hot. The price was super reasonable as well ($3 each). Each one also have slightly different design on them which was cool. The flavor was distinct and the empanada itself was sturdy yet soft. My boyfriend said it was easily the best empanadas he had. I personally like that it's not overly greasy on the inside or outside and it can be a quick meal. Definitely will be ordering more soon.
There is something wrong with you if you do not like empanadas. I don't care where you are from, empanadas are a crowd pleaser. They are one of those comforting foods that seem so simple but are actually hard to get right. Also, every country has their own version and we can argue that Colombian empanadas, or Venezuelan empanadas are better but in reality they are all great and different and we need to jus embrace the differences. As far as Argentinian empanadas go, these Rocky's babies are LEGIT! If you never had them, or if you have to choose just one flavor, you must try the classic meat with chimichurri. My second favorite (my kids #1), is the ham and cheese, third would probably be the chicken. Don't get me wrong, they are all good but those are in my opinion the most typical and safest bets.
This is a great, affordable and fast pickup option for whenever you are craving something warm and tasty. We got the empanadas for dinner so we focused on the savory flavors. We tried the classic meat, grilled chicken, sirloin steak, humita (corn and bechamel), onion and cheese and the spinach and cheese. Each empanada is $3 (besides the steak which is $3.50) and unless you either eat a lot or want leftovers odds are 2-4 empanadas per person is going to be a good amount to fill you up. My gf and I got 8 and had leftovers which I liked because they reheated well the next day. My favorites were the sirloin steak and the humita while the ones I personally probably wouldn't order again would be the spinach and chicken. You also must get the chimichurri sauce on the side as it adds a lot of flavor. We tried both the spicy and the regular chimichurri and honestly the spicy one is not very hot so next time we will probably only get two sides of the original chimichurri. Their pickup system is completely contactless and efficient which was great. I asked the guy what his favorite was and he said he really liked the ham and cheese so I am excited to try that one as well as the mushroom and cheese and some of their sweet ones when I next visit. If you are looking to switch things up and try some takeout other than the usual suspects or if you just like tasty, warm and comforting food on a chilly winter day then you should definitely try this place.
The empanadas here are so good I literally had eight in one sitting OMG!!! I tried three flavors: Chicken, Spinach & Cheese, and Humita (Corn & Bechamel). All were sizeable, amazingly delicious, chock full of flavor and filling, and very flavorful. The dough is thin and baked crispy. The Humita was especially unique, the filling was cinnamon-y and savory-sweet. Also tried the Chimichurri and Spicy Chimichurri dipping sauces, these were chunky and oily, and the spicy one had a kick! I think these are $3 each but I was lucky enough that they were brought into our office party.
Easy 5 stars, unique, delicious, no frills. Had the steak, beef, chicken, and caprese, could've drank the chimichurri. Caprese was my fave (worth what Michael Scott paid for his) but loved them all. Small store front built for grab and go. Only recommendation would be to set up a small table or 2 so eager eaters like me can scarf them down fresh - didn't stop me from enjoying mine at the counter top. Might consider a different door chime :)
First time visiting this store, we bought a half dozen of the empanadas . A mix of the sirloin steak, and classic meat empanadas. We also picked up 3 small portions of their chimichurri sauce. (2 regular and 1 spicy. (Beware ...the spicy definitely had a kick). These empanadas are so delicious! I loved the chimichurri sauce too, although a bit pricey at 1.50 for a small portion. I first tried these empanadas at Metropolitan Market last summer. Will definitely revisit when I need to get my empanada fix! Note: it is better to call ahead and order, otherwise you must wait for about 15 minutes so the empanadas can be baked. No tables/chairs in the store (so it is basically take out. Nice, quiet location tucked away amongst office buildings. The last time i had a really good empanada was somewhere in Argentina. Now i learned about this place! Everything seems authentic and hand-made. Empanadas came out fresh and hot. Seemed freshly baked. The staff is very friendly. Makes no fuss about wearing masks in order to be served nonsense. They just make great empanadas for their customers. What an innovative idea! read more

Gosh haven't found an empanada place since living in the Bay Area - so when I went searching for a bite and found this place near work, I was super excited! And boy, I was not disappointed. I went ahead and pre-ordered online for a later time which was very efficient and easy to do. I tried the classic meat empanada, the spinach and cheese empanada, the caramelized onion empanada, and the mushroom empanada. Caramelized onion and classic meat were definitely my favorite but they were all perfectly warm, very delicious, and reasonably priced. They were ready at the time I scheduled for pick up. I am definitely hoping to go back and even buy some of the frozen empanadas so I can take home and bake another time. read more
This is a little storefront located in a random office building complex. It looked closed when we got there at 11am on a Friday, but there was another customer in the parking lot that said they were open. We placed our order online and then waited the 20mins for the food to be ready. We just wanted to try them, so we got one grilled chicken empanada and one spinach and cheese empanada. We rang the door bell when our food was supposed to be ready and a man came to the front and gave us our little box. The empanadas were $3 each and they were hot and delicious! I can't wait to be back. I'll definitely place an order online and then drive over! read more
I had a strong craving for empanadas, and I came across Rockys. During our visit we had the Classic meat, Sirloin steak, Mushroom and cheese, Caprese, and the Banana and dulce de leche. They did not disappoint, and my empanada craving was satisfied! The owner was super friendly and helpful! She explained how to identify each empanada. They even provide a nice visual aid to help customers identify their food. When finding the place, your car's navigation will be your friend. Aside from a small road sign, the location isn't the easiest to spot, and I kept questioning if we went to the right location. Trust Google Maps like we did, and you'll get there just fine. From what I saw, there was no seating because of the pandemic, but it looked like it would've been nice spot to enjoy the empanadas. We ended up eating our empanadas in our car. A word of advice: order ahead online! You're able to order in person, but you may have to wait a bit. Do some planning ahead so by the time you get to Rocky's, your empanadas are ready. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit. If you're on the search for some good empanadas, look no further than Rocky's. read more

When I spotted this food truck, I had to give it a try as I heard raving reviews about Rocky's and had never had an authentic empanada before. When I stepped up to order, it was only about halfway through the lunch hour and they were already out of two types: the Original Meat and Spinach with Cheese. I had wanted to try their Original Meat, but opted for one Chicken ($2.5) and one Sirloin Steak ($3.5). I noticed that most people in line ordered about three to four empanadas, which I would agree is an ample serving for lunch. Although my empanadas were stuffed with a reasonable amount of meat filling, each one is only about four bites worth. Both empanadas were baked to a beautiful golden brown and I really enjoyed the light flaky pastry. For the most part, I preferred the Chicken, which was mixed with onion and peppers, plus had some tame notes of heat. The chicken had a true grilled flavor, however unfortunately some of the meat was a little too charred and left a bitter aftertaste. The Steak filling was lean, mixed with onion and black pepper. Although tasty, I didn't think it was worth an extra dollar. I'd recommend Rocky's for a quick lunch or if looking to treat yourself to a savory snack. Just come early to ensure that your first picks are available! 3.5 stars. read more

Goodness are these empanadas delicious! Every time we come, we're always telling ourselves that we will get a few, but that never happens lol! For the past couple years, we've been coming here and have had wonderful experiences each time. By now we have tried every single savory one, but haven't tried the sweet ones yet. Out of them all, our favorites are the steak, spinach + cheese, mushroom + cheese, ham + cheese, and humita. In the beginning, the classic meat was one of our go-tos, but over time, the flavor of the green olives became too much. If you're not a fan of green olives, I wouldn't recommend getting them. As others have mentioned, the crust is the winner here. Each empanada has a distinct shape and they even provide a key diagram on which is what. Love that! I love the egg wash they use which makes each empanada nice, golden brown. The technique is excellent, especially the crimping. The family that runs this place is super nice and you can even order them frozen to bake at home! Haven't tried it yet, but even without that, these empanadas reheat well. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, a party tray, or a full-on meal, these beauties at $3-$4 a piece are certainly a worthwhile trip to Redmond, so please give this place a whirl! read more

My friend recommended this place to us. I was a bit skeptical at where this place is located. It's not visible from the main road and look like some warehouse or office location. They only have take out option. I ordered classic meat, chicken, steak and spinach & cheese. Yeeeeah, it was piping hot when I get it. They have different style for different fillings so you can tell which one is which. I love the spinach and cheese one. My husband like the all the meat ones and I also enjoyed the chicken one which has some heat to it. It is worth the drive to try it out. read more

There is a reason this place is 5 stars! What a hidden gem! It is vey easy to drive past this place as it's in one of those office complexes and you can only enter going West on the road. I seek out good empanadas in the many places I've lived and traveled. I love a good baked empanada (not fried please) and these are really fantastic Argentinian empanadas. These are truly the best I have ever tried so far in my life. Trust me. There are 7 flavors: original beef, chicken, spinach, ham and cheese, mushroom, onion and humita (corn). Each is a very reasonable price of $2.50. You have the option of adding the signature sauce, chimichurri, in regular or spicy for only $1.50. The empanadas are wrapped in this wonderfully thin yet buttery, flaky and crisp pie crust. Each is folded perfectly in different shapes which help you figure the filling. Just refer to the handy stamp diagram in the box which lists the filling under each empanada shape! If you walk in and place an order, it takes about 10 mins till the empanadas are ready. Be patient- this means they are very fresh and piping hot. There is not much room to eat there - it's more of a to go kind of place. But we took one of the two high chairs and proceeded to chow down. The empanadas are heavily filled, to our delight. $2.50 for such hefty empanadas is a steal! We tried the beef, humita and spinach. The spinach was ooey gooey creamy and delicious. The beef was good as well. The humita was good but a tad sweet. I can't wait to return and try the other flavors!!! read more
WOW! These are awesome. Came by and got a few empanadas baked at the store and some frozen ones to go. These empanadas are extremely flavorful and taste equally as good baked there or at home. Just 20 minutes in the oven. My favorites were the Ham & Cheese and Spinach & Cheese. The spicy chimichurri sauce is a must, so don't forget to order that. 7 empanadas plus sauce came out to close to $30. These are great to have in the freezer for a quick and delicious meal. Keep in mind they are in a office park and only have a counter with 3 seats, so don't try to bring a party down to eat empanadas. Just pick them up and have an empanada party at home. read more
PERFECTION. My review is based on the service and the food only as I made my purchase at their food truck. Both were impeccable. I ordered three empanadas: a humita, which is corn and bechamel cheese; one mushroom and cheese and a spinach and cheese. The dough on each one was baked heaven, flaky, buttery and baked to the exact moment of doneness. (Yes, I'm making up words to describe this food.) Each empanada was piping hot. The mushroom one was divine. Exact proportion of button mushrooms to cheese. Next was the humita which was delightful. Not much of a corn person in general but I'd eat this again. The roasted bell peppers were spot on. Last, the spinach was so, so yummy and was my favorite. The melted cheese and fresh spinach were just so freaking good. All they have are empanadas. They do it right. The gentleman who took my order and handed it to me out of the window of the food truck was sweet, polite and fast. After placing my order, it was handed to me in less than a minute later. There were five people in line ahead of me, and I saw everyone get their food just as quickly. Cost is $2.50 each pretax. Rocky's is making some nice empanadas here--once you find the place. It's hard to find, and it can get busy at lunch time. This is mostly a to go place because there are only three seats for sitting and eating here. You can get empanadas to go either hot or frozen to bake for yourself at home. Wide variety of flavors and consistent quality. These have ample filling, though some of the flavors could use a bit more of a flavor "pop"--maybe a bit of acid like vinegar or lemon. Crust is good. But it's a little heavy and not as flaky as I would like. Overall, these are a quality product. They are not as good as some empanadas I have had, both in Argentina and from Argentinian friends here in the states. But they are an Argentinian baked empanada made with love. And that's saying alot. Definitely worth a try. read more
