I had…read morenever been here before until I learned that IFB was one of the few places in Bellevue that sells Dubai chocolate. So, I had to see it for myself. Located in the Lake Hills shopping plaza, parking can be rough with all the surrounding businesses. However, IFB has dedicated parking spots right out front of the shop for 30 minutes, which was perfect for me. The space isn't very large as the selection is limited. But I was surprised to find a butcher shop inside here as there was a line of people waiting to get fresh cuts of meat from a window at the back of the store. They also sell takeout meals in the refrigerated section, which were mostly curries. The Dubai chocolate, which I came for, was located right by the register. They also sell the pistachio cream if you just want that, as well as other chocolates from Dubai if you don't want the famous, viral pistachio one. And yes, it was good chocolate. Overall, this isn't a store I would frequent unless I need more Dubai chocolate when Trader Joe's predictably sells out of their $4 version.

OK, still haven't stepped in this very busy, Chinese grocery store, but got to eat a birthday cake…read morepurchased from there. If one likes mangos, their mango strawberry cake is a dream. Costing under $60, the large cake was beautifully made and decorated. Like other Asian bakeries (e.g. Paris Baguette, Tous Les Jours, 85 C), the cake was chiffon with whipped cream and was quite good. But what made it stand out was how mango and strawberries were incorporated into the design AND how it tasted. Mangoes were thinly sliced and used like fondant to COVER the entire top of the cake. Then chopped mangos and whole strawberries were added on top to decorate it even more. Fondant is great to make the cake look good, but I don't like it as an edible product (it's like eating pure sugar for me). Ripe mango, on the other hand, I could eat all day...and this version was ripe without being overly so. The cake came well packaged in a travel container, and included a cake cutter, signage, and a candle. The four of us could barely make a large dent in it (maybe a 1/3), even though it didn't use buttermilk frosting, but used really good whipped cream instead. I think it's twice the size of a Tous Les Jour large (which is usually what our family gets for birthdays), and wasn't that much more.

I specifically questioned this, pointing to the "sold out" sign, yet she insisted that they were not sold out and proceeded to package four for me. When she handed me the box, I asked again--explicitly--whether these were vegetarian. For a third time, she assured me that they were. After a two-hour drive home, I opened the box to find that I had been given pork bao. This was not a minor oversight. I asked multiple times and received repeated, unequivocal assurances. At that point, this ceases to be a simple mistake and reflects either a complete disregard for accuracy or a willingness to mislead a customer to move product. Neither is acceptable. Customers rely on staff to provide correct information, especially when dietary preferences or restrictions are involved. The failure here was not just operational--it was a failure of basic honesty and accountability. This experience left me feeling violated, disrespected, and taken advantage of. It is extremely disappointing that such conduct can occur in a business that presents itself as reputable. One interaction like this is enough to severely damage trust in the store as a whole.

So, naturally after finding out they were a legit deli, I ordered myself a sandwich. And although it was simple, it was absolutely delicious! I'm not one for cold sandwiches, but this was probably one of the best cold sandwiches I've ever had. In fact, I ended up buying some deli meat because I liked how good the pastrami was. The store is cute and they make great use of the limited space. It seems like most of the international Imports are Eastern European (and from what I can tell, mainly Russian). The owners were very helpful and nice, and even showed me to some of the house-made pickled items (of which I bought a small tub of sauerkraut).

Got very good service from the deli as well as at the checkout line. The store had a decent amount of hot food selections, Sushi, Noodles, Teriyaki Chicken, drinks and snacks, among other things. Prices are a little high for the prepared foods, but you get what you pay for. The variety of items at this store is good. Aisles can be a little tight to maneuver around if it gets pretty crowded, though.

They have 4 locations in the Pacific NW, with this location in Bellevue having a great selection of fresh foods. They do sell sturgeon caviar here, but we decided to get much cheaper Tobiko (red and black). It went well with the blinis that we had bought from a different store. They also had a nice selection of fresh oysters as well.

With T&T's opening, it seems that the pricing has improved to be more competitive. Particularly with the produce. They also have started posting weekly ads online of their specials to drive shopper awareness. Aside from the sales offerings, I still think the pricing on items seems a little higher than T&T and S-Mart. Shopping experience has improved a little as there are smaller crowds at the store because of the T&T effect. It was and still is a pain to check out as the line can be long. Wish they had self checkout. If you want a quicker shopping experience, shop here on weekdays and avoid coming in on weekends.
