Yum yum! Growing up in Renton, I never thought there was a solid burger spot. But now that I'm back up in these neck of the woods, I've discovered Red Wagon Burger and it does not disappoint! I enjoyed it here. Their 1/4 pound cheese burger was delicious. Great patty with the perfect amount of texture on the bun. And deliciously crunchy and seasoned fries. And the prices are fairly reasonable albeit since the burgers are huge. The service was also fast and sweet which I loved and it seems like a solid family run establishment that cares for its customers. I was really surprised by how much we enjoyed our burgers. I was prepared to have a mediocre burger but they really delivered on flavor here. Our food came out so piping hot and fresh, I almost burned my tongue on my steak and cheese. Not complaining at all! Onion rings and fries were good but nothing special. The burger was so juicy and delicious. Definitely will be back! My only complaint is there no pricing on the menu board or on their printed menus. So I had to ask how much everything was. Kind of frustrating when you're on a budget. They did have daily specials posted on paper by the register and those were a great deal. We will definitely be back. A great local spot. This place is the definition of don't judge a book by it's cover. One of our favorite burger joints in Washington. We have been to the Renton location twice and also the location in Tumwater. The service is always super friendly and welcoming. I ordered the burger, onion rings and soda separately and she offered to make it a combo. Always a good sign of customer service. On this visit, I ordered the Blue Cheese Bacon Burger with Onion Rings. I am not a fan of coated fries so I really don't enjoy the fries. The fires are always hot and crispy, it's simply a matter of personal preference on the battered fries. The burgers are huge and very messy. This trip I decided to order mine without the house make special sauce and it made a big difference. My Burger was far less messy than previous experience. Of course, I always order a burger with extra pickle. The blue cheese was piled on high and all of the veggies on the burger were super fresh. The burger was absolutely delicious. The onion rings are beer battered rather than breaded which always makes a huge difference. They were crisp, hot and not greasy at all. They are outstanding. My favorite dining partner ordered the Mushroom Burger. While very messy, he said it was delicious. He is a big fan of the buttery brioche buns they used. 10/10 we will definitely be back again next time we are craving burgers. read more

I was doing some grocery shopping at Viet Wah and got hungry. Noticed Red Wagon the last couple times I've been down there so decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! I got the 1/4lb bacon cheeseburger and it was fantastic! Patty was hot and juicy, veggies were crisp and fresh and well composed. It doesn't matter how you have the burgers here, they're all just so good! This is my second time eating here and I loved everything about it, though I did take out this time. There's ample seating inside though the place does feel quite small. There's a counter nearby where you can grab utensils, napkins and even gloves in vase you don't want to eat your burger with your bare hands. You can order either at the register or at the nearby kiosk. Either way, the order comes out very fresh and the servers are very respectuful of preferences in your burgers! This time I got their Red Wagon bacon cheese burger with a side of cheese sticks. Even when the burger got a little squished when bringing it back to a friend's place, the burger was still top notch! The burgers can get very messy but that of course doesn't matter here. This place is pretty much my #1 spot for an awesome burger! What a pleasant surprise!! I drive by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a try. I was hesitant when walking in as the place was empty at lunch time. But I put my hesitation aside to support a local business. That place was clean, well maintained and smelled like a burger joint! A pleasant woman was running the place, took my order and I grabbed a table. A few minutes later one of the tastiest bacon cheeseburger I have had was put in front of me on a wooden plate with a basket of perfectly cooked fried. Brioche bun was soft. Bacon was REAL bacon, not that precooked garbage. The "special sauce" was tasty. The burger itself was cooked well and still juicy. Fry basket was a nice touch. I can't imagine how hard running a small business like this must be, so mad props for not going cheap on the final product. Amazing all around! Friends told us to try this place. We finally had our first visit today. Service: Friendly, efficient, kind. You order on the computer that's near the register. They bring out your food when it's ready. Food: AMAZING! Burgers were HUGE! Fish and Chips were huge too! I cannot believe the fair prices on such large, generous portions. After hearing so many raves about this place on the neighborhood site and FB, we trekked our way here to try it out. Upon entering, you can order from the kiosk or the employee to the left of the store. We opted for the kiosk ordering as we like to input the order without feeling like an inconvenience for not knowing what to order. There was a few tables to dine in at, if you choose to. The establishment is pretty clean. It didn't take too long for the food to come out. The employees was really nice. Everything was good, except my burgers felt heavily salted, so it didn't make the burgers as enjoyable. Almost as if someone got heavy handed on the seasonings so that was a little disappointing. The hamburger arrived in perfect shape. I cut it in half with a knife and it was easier to hold and eat. Burger taste was good! However, no services are provided here. I RARELY give 5 star reviews but this burger and fries exceeded my expectations. I ordered a large fry, a bacon cheeseburger and a double cheeseburger. Both had 1/3 lb patties but there were options with 1/4 lb patties. So reasonably priced! I don't know how they are making money. The fries stayed crispy for the 15 min drive home!! Which is amazing given how most fries are soggy even when fresh. The burgers were STUFFED. I did not even take a photo after cutting into it. It was nicely layered with lots of bacon, onions, lettuce. Best burger I've had in a long time. I will be a repeat customer. The front counter staff was so nice. At a quick service place, I do not expect anyone to go around to the tables to ask how everything is. Location: Conveniently located right off of Sunset blvd, this is a quite the diamond in the rough! The plaza is somewhat rough looking, but plenty of people going in and out to not shy away from it. There's a huge parking lot, which is great for larger vehicles. Handicap parking is available right in front of the establishment. If you're familiar with the goodwill off of Sunset blvd in Renton, it's in the same plaza. Food: They got burgers! The burgers are juicy and flavorful. It looks like they use handmade patties. If you have a smaller appetite, make sure you go for a single patty burger, it's plentiful. I ordered the double cheeseburger and I am stuffed. We ordered a small fries and fried pickles, but couldn't finish it all. The small fries are more than enough for two people. The fries and fried pickles remind me of funnel cake battered fried food. Both are delicious and crispy. Ambiance: It's a casual spot. Not sure I would take a first date here unless they really love burgers because it's gonna be super juicy and drippy, but of course, to each their own. Would i recommend? HECK YEAH! Inconspicuous burger place in Renton with massive portions. They also give you coupons in the mail if you're a local so if you've been sitting on this place, don't fret! It's worth it - I promise. They have dozens of different kind of burger combinations as well as other types of food but you should really go for the burgers. This place is dangerous. My weakness in life is french fries, and Red Wagon gave me a basket full of one of the best fries I've had in a long time. And the burgers? We tried the BBQ Burger which was big enough to split between 2 people. Yum! The burger was juicy and substantial, and the BBQ sauce was perfect; not too sweet. What takes these burgers to the next level is the buttery bun! Super soft and buttery on top, yet slightly grilled underneath. Ugh, making this review is making me hungry again. Checked this place out after hearing about the hype. Got their name sake burger, fried pickles, and my friend got the mushroom burger. The Red Wagon Burger($13.99) comes with house sauce, pickles, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and American cheese. The Mushroom Burger($11.99) comes with house sauce, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms and provolone cheese. The Fried Pickles($7.49) were not good. Not only was it a bit on the saltier side, but it I think they didn't give it enough time to for the oil to drain after pulling it out of the fryer. Refer to my pic where you can see the puddle of grease at the bottom of the basket after pulling out the the pickles and laying them out on some napkins. The napkins were soaked in grease. Speaking of napkins, the lady didn't give us any when she gave us our food. I had to come up to the counter to request them because they had it stored behind the counter. So you can either order through the cashier or do the self check out kiosk to the right. Overall, the burgers here have the half pound beef patty and is cooked medium well from my observation. All items are priced separately. There are no combo meals. It's a bit pricey but the size of the burgers can justify that. I wouldn't recommend the fried pickles unless you like extra grease. I would come here to eat if I am in the area. No need to go out of your way for an above average burger. Definitely better than your standard fast food burger though. So glad there's a good burger shop in Renton! The burgers are HUGE and loved the fresh vegetables in them. Assembled well making it easy to eat despite the size. The bacon cheeseburger- delicious, would order again! The pepper jack burger - the patty is a little too salty and wish the sauce or burger was spicier but overall good. It is a self service cafe with self check out and option to check out with a cashier. Once you've ordered, they either call your name or if dining in, they will serve it at your table. I've had four burgers from here so far. The cheeseburger is my favorite. I like the fresh veggies on these burgers. The bun is buttery and toothsome without being greasy. The french fries are pretty good, too. One order is enough to share. There's an extra charge on fry sauce (lame!). The service is nice. Since it's sorta new maybe they are still getting their bearings; it's not a problem. And maybe bc it used to be a teriyaki shop and I've known it to be one, the room has the ambiance of a teriyaki shop. The parking is slightly sketchy but it's on the end of the shopping strip, so it's easy to find. I order 15min ahead of time and the food is always ready for me. Recommend. read more

This place is actually unfair. As in, it's unfair how I don't live right next door so I can grab one of their burgers every day. I came here after I saw the hype on social media so let's break down the three things that people raved: price, size, and taste. Size: I got the double cheeseburger and their patties, buns, and toppings were nicely stacked. The burger width would comfortably fit a typical adult's hands but the height may make it hard to hold together. Squishing it will lead to the juices oozing out so maybe you just eat it in small bites? Which leads to my next segment. Taste: This is not a burger you'll want to eat in small bites. It's actually super delicious. The fluffy bun actually has a taste to it, which is reminiscent of store-bought Hawaiian buns. The patties are firm, thick, seasoned well, and grilled perfectly. I'm usually not a fan of pickles but I think the ones they used don't taste too sour and complemented the saltiness of the patties. The cheese slices were prominent but balanced well with the overall burger. So in short, you'll do the burger justice by demolishing it completely. Price: Expect to pay $12-15 a burger. The size and taste well fit the price range. And honestly, there are burgers in that price range or higher that don't deliver in the way these Red Wagon burgers have. Getting a meal combo for an additional $4.50 seems like a bit much but I didn't have a chance to try their fries. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try their milkshakes or cheesesteak as they were sold out (I got there around 7PM). With the lines and wait time, I think it was about a 20-30 minute wait which I don't think is bad given how people just kept coming. The parking lot has generous parking, partly due to the closing of the Saar's. I'll update this review if I ever get to try their other items.
