This wasn't our first time at Jay Berries it's actually become one of our favorite spots to visit for breakfast after church on Sundays. We've been there quite a few times, so we already knew we loved it... but this visit reminded us why we keep coming back. We arrived pretty close to closing time, and even then, they greeted us with genuine kindness and were more than happy to seat us. That alone meant a lot, especially since not many places nearby stay open late and we were very hungry. Unlike the busy Sunday mornings we're used to, seating was quick and easy this time with no wait at all, which was a nice change of pace. For dinner, I ordered the steak cooked rare, my son got a burger and fries, and we shared the calamari. The steak truly stood out. It was cooked exactly the way I like it. perfectly rare with a beautiful, tender center. What I appreciated most was the seasoning. It was thoughtfully done: flavorful enough to enhance the meat, but not so heavy that it overpowered the natural taste of the steak itself. The food here was sooooooo good. The breakfast pizza was decadent, indulgent, and umami--it kinda tasted like a really good quiche. We also got Berry's French Toast and it smelled like a donut and almost felt like eating funnel cake. Everything was so yummy. Our server Nicole was also very attentive and kind! I was weary and didn't order the eggs Benedict because I love hollandaise sauce. The Rooster is a breakfast sandwich, scrambled eggs, bacon, on a French bread style sandwich and you dip it into the famous formaggi sauce that is all over the menu. OMG! Delicious!!!!! Not too heavy, cheesy, not too cheesy. Absolutely perfection. And the eggs cooked to perfection. So yummy and soft without being runny. Or a pancake which looked delicious on the kids table next to us. Fluffy and sweet. Next time the eggs Benedict. With the formaggi sauce, which is so good! , not hollandaise. Look it up.
