Retro but very cool! Food still doesn't appoint! I mean where can you get a full Prime Dinner with a choice of soup, salad or FULLY loaded baked potato on SAT Night (only)! Holy Moly! The Berry Burger my wife tried was good. Sweet potato fries had good flavor. Pizza's are great! Friday nights is alway CLAM CHOWDER NIGHT! Service is fantastic! Michelle always Greets us with a smile. Friendly overall staff. The ambiance is a "Feel Good Feeling"! Like Bing home without the family drama! Overall, always passed this place on my work when moved to Renton, but now it is one of favorite places to go for. Clam chowder fix on a FRI. A nice prime rib steak on (only ) SAT! And everyday other day just some good food! So get some!

Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the wait. My poached eggs were overcooked, and the Jose Special was very dry. After we left, my friends and I all agreed the food was just... mid. Not bad, but definitely not anything memorable or worth such a long wait. I don't quite understand why there's consistently such a crowd if the food isn't anything out of the ordinary. On the positive side, the tea selection was solid, and the prices were very reasonable, which is always a plus. Overall, great service and fair pricing, but the food didn't match the hype or the wait time.

Loved!! Wow we visited Seattle and looked at places for bfast right after getting our rental. Jay berrys came up and it def did not disappoint!! It was so good!! And packed! It's def that local spot and we love that we dined in here. The menu is huge and I still regret not getting their cinnamon rolls. Ahh! Excited to be back when we visit again!!

If you are looking for that out of the way spot, that is also everyone's hangout, this is your spot. Along with a vibrant sports bar (complete with divey feel) is their restaurant with full menu items. Don't forget their Saturday night prime rib evenings. And as an added bonus... they make some of the most excellent pizza in this part of unincorporated King County (closest to Renton that is). There is both sit down down restaurant area, as well as the locally famous bar. Is it divey? Absolutely!! Come for the drinks, the food and your friends. And a very friendly, veteran staff. Stop on by for your favorite drink, and your favorite meal!

Went back to Jay's today. Haven't been for awhile. Still great, friendly service and very attentive. Ordered the fish and chips. Plenty on the plate for $19.99 and to comes with a fairly large salad! My husband ordered the club sandwich and he said it very perfect. We did ordered their homemade apple pie. Review pending on it because we had it "to go".

Came here again for breakfast around 9am Tuesday morning. It easy busy at all! We were able to find parking easily as well as get seated immediately. Service was quick and staff was very kind. Food was delicious!! They give pretty decent portions for a very fair price (our food plus a hot chocolate and coffee was $45 in total). Definitely recommend coming here for that dinner breakfast experience.

Lost a star because of the young man who refuse to give me ice water. He asked if we needed more coffee and I asked him if I could get some ice water, because it was getting warm. He joked and said "No. you have medicine and I don't". I had a half of glass of mimosa, so I think that is what he was calling medicine. I did not care for his attitude. I finally caught a server walking by & asked he for water and told her I was really warm. Less than 1 minute she showed up with that ice water. As busy as it was she made time for my request...I thank her if I knew her name. Our breakfast was delish as usual and service was good with Cindy. The ambiance was loud & busy. This kid ruin it a bit with the refusal of ice water.

Kids love this place, and not just because of the awesome service, the biggest kids menu they've seen, and the overall vibe - but they genuinely love the comfort food foundation of this cafe. For the adults, the portions are huge and the prices are really good, especially given the horrendous foodie delusion throughout much of Seattle and the corresponding entitlement pricing. Jay Berry's is the exact opposite. Can't recommend it enough.

    Happy hour Nachos!!!!!

Always a favorite! Lucky to live close by as the service is outstanding and the beer is always cold. We popped in for happy hour and had a few Manny's and their HH nachos - which are really good. Summer is our favorite w the patio but inside is always a hoot. Don't skip breakfast if you have a chance.

Good food, great selection, friendly staff, homey feel....just get there before 9 am on weekends. I'd forgotten that I used to frequent this place every so often. A decade later, it's still standing and still great!

I visited again cause I couldn't forget the their tots and benedict plate. I also ordered a pancake on the side and it was bomb. I have to come back again to try their classic breakfast since Im still dreaming about the pancake I had. Note: I arrived at 8:30 in Saturday morning but restaurant was full already lol.

I've driven by this place and am so happy I decided to go here. A neighborhood gem for sure! When you come in there is a small hallway. Restrooms on the left and a bar on the right. Immediately met with a smile. At the front desk is a huge cinnamon roll. The menu is huge too. I get overwhelmed with large menus so decided to order a breakfast sandwich which gave me chance to try their cheese sauce, called a formaggi sauce. I was weary and didn't order the eggs Benedict because I love hollandaise sauce. The Rooster is a breakfast sandwich, scrambled eggs, bacon, on a French bread style sandwich and you dip it into the famous formaggi sauce that is all over the menu. OMG! Delicious!!!!! Not too heavy, cheesy, not too cheesy. Absolutely perfection. And the eggs cooked to perfection. So yummy and soft without being runny. Or a pancake which looked delicious on the kids table next to us. Fluffy and sweet. Next time the eggs Benedict. With the formaggi sauce, which is so good! , not hollandaise. Look it up. You'll love it. Add to the menu $5 mimosas and $5 bloody Mary's. I had one of each. Don't judge, treat yourself. My friends all were super happy with their meals. I had a bite of a sausage. Delish! Service? 10/10. Now I can't wait to go back. Need to have some more delicious food with their amazing sauce. Treat yourself! SYOY!

You can't go wrong with starting your morning at Jay Berrys Cafe! I love "breakfast bowls" so when I saw The Coalfield Corner Special on their menu, I knew I had to try it. It was delicious!

Curiosity eventually won, and I'm glad it did. First off, the place itself is on the smaller side, maybe around 15 tables plus a bar top, but it's well organized and efficient. You're immediately greeted by an employee who asks how many are in your party, and before you know it, you're seated with a menu and water in hand. Smooth operation so far. I went all in and ordered the red velvet waffles (because obviously), paired with a milkshake, and my partner ordered the corned beef hash. The wait time was about 20-25 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how full the place was. When the food arrived, it was clear why people keep coming back, the portions are generous and easily shareable. The red velvet waffles were amazing. Rich, fluffy, and absolutely worth the order. The corned beef hash was clearly made from scratch, you could tell the corned beef was hand-cut, along with the potatoes and peppers. No mystery meat here. It's served with crispy hash browns and an egg cooked however you like, which is exactly how it should be. Service was great too, super friendly, genuinely nice, and very on top of things. You can tell this place has been around for a while because the staff all seem to have their rhythm down. There's a groove, and it works. All in all, this is a solid spot for breakfast or lunch, and now I understand why it's always busy. Just one important note: they're closed on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

Our waitress was very sweet, and as far as I could tell, the only one serving tables, so service was a bit slower. Food was tasty and just what you would expect for diner food. Prices and portions were great as well. Around $43 for everything ordered (food is pictured). Definitely would come back for a nice and relaxing breakfast.

I got the smashwich and fruity pebbles rice krispy. We also got the matcha shokupan donut to share. Everything was excellent. Only downside - I think their space is somewhat awkward for seating and overall flow.
