Cutest little neighborhood cafe in a strip Mall near Issaquah QFC ! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, California Eggs Benedict, and Breakfast Quesadilla. We ordered the half portions and it was perfect. The salsa on the Huevos Rancheros was delicious-- smoky, spicy, and had the perfect kick to balance the flavors of everything else going on the plate. The California Eggs Benedict came with grilled onions, which I absolutely loved. (You don't see onions typically in that dish.) Hash browns were meh. My favorite however was the avocado crema that came with the Breakfast Quesadillas. Creamy and flavorful-- they made the quesadillas sing. Quesadillas were scrumptious-- chock full of scrambled eggs, veggies, and green onions, this one is going to be on our repeat menu . We loved it so much that the person who served gave a complimentary cup to go as we were packing the leftovers. On that note I must say that the service was warm and attentive. We came on a weekday for brunch and were amazed to see how full it was. There was quite a bit of wait for lunch hour so this tells me how popular this place is. Great classic cafe! They have a large menu with lots to choose from, from sweet or savory breakfast to turkey dinners. Most of my meals at the chain have been good! This time, I split the migas and the rhubarb French toast. I really enjoyed the migas! It was filling and had great flavor. The French toast itself was good and I usually love rhubarb, but the sauce was not as good as I was hoping. Lots of parking, shared with other stores in the strip mall. This is the little cafe that could. It is easily overlooked tucked in a corner of a QFC parking lot. The decor is that of any generic greasy spoon diner, permanent stools at the bar, classic wooden back booths and typical diner tables. The service was so warm and friendly even though they were slammed and there was a 30 minute wait for a party of 2 on a Thursday morning at 10 AM. The veggie omelette tasted fresh and was not greasy. I chose pancakes for a side and it came with 3 giant pancakes! Eggs benny was cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce was so yummy and the fruit was also fresh and delicious. Still such an awesome place for breakfast. Not too busy at all on a weekday morning as expected but still enough people to create an ambiance. Great food. They even split the Popeye omelette (with hash browns and homemade biscuit) for us and it was the perfect amount of food. A lot of places charge you to split a single meal, so we ended up tipping a little extra to show our thanks but it certainly wasn't expected. The biscuit with butter and honey was superb. Issaquah Cafe is EXTREMELY nostalgic for me, and holds a dear place in my heart. Growing up and attending school in the area, I remember coming here with friends before class whenever we had a late start, and I always appreciated the comfy, home-y vibe that this place offered. Years later and having since moved from Issaquah, I still find myself coming here with friends after the occasional trip to the east side. The restaurant is small and cozy, but often very busy; you're definitely gonna expect long waits on weekends. Service is always friendly, and you can tell that the staff absolutely love their job and the customers that come in. I tried something new this time around, and got the pulled pork breakfast burrito. The pork was juicy and flavorful, and really highlighted the dish. Prices can be a bit expensive, most dishes cost at least $18, but you can tell that they put a lot of love into their meals. Or maybe that's my nostalgia talking. We love that Issaquah Cafe now allows you to add yourself to the waitlist in advance, like Sammamish Cafe, so it is much less of a hassle to get a table. The waitlist on the weekends is sometimes up to an hour, so my family usually waitlists ourselves forty-five minutes before we plan to arrive at the restaurant. Our server, Austin, was kind and attentive. Every time we go to Issaquah Cafe, the staff is welcoming and friendly and we love the cozy atmosphere and Pacific Northwest-inspired decor. This time, we were seated next to a decorative rack of plates and my parents spent quite a bit of time admiring the different plates and talking about how they wanted a similar rack in their house. My only qualm is how long it took for us to get our food. We were in a bit of a rush because we had a 1 pm appointment in Shoreline and were hoping it wouldn't take more than forty minutes for us to dine at the cafe. We arrived at 11:25 and were seated within five minutes. Unfortunately, after ordering we didn't start to get our food until past 12:10 and had to rush to finish it. Thankfully, Austin was accommodating and brought us the bill and some boxes while we were eating. My go-to at the Issaquah Cafe is the fresh berry waffle with whipped cream on the side, along with a side of sausage. I love how savoury their sausage is (my mouth is watering right now just writing about them). I especially love dipping their sausage in a little bit of breakfast syrup. The berries are always delicious, and I love how their waffles are thin like pancakes. My mom ordered the eggs and hashbrowns and she loved how they accommodated her request to make the potatoes crispy. I also stole a bite of her hashbrowns and loved how crunchy they were on the outside and soft on the inside for a perfect juxtaposition of texture. The Lemon Blueberry pancakes are my dad's favourite and he enjoyed them. I'm personally not a fan, but the presentation is great and we always have more than half to take home with us. We were gearing up for the 4th of July activities so wanted to hit up a breakfast spot near the park we were going to visit. We searched and found Issaquah café near by and decided to check it out to get loaded up for the adventure ahead. The parking lot is massive and this joint is tucked into a plaza of shops. The moment you step in you definitely feel it is the quintessential local diner/café feel. Lots of "wood" features, lots of seating with booths, a counter if you prefer that and just a lot of "local" hustle and bustle. Service was absolutely friendly from start to finish. The menu is broken down by burgers, classics (think chicken strips/clubs), omelettes, BYO egg breakfasts, benedicts, griddles, specialties... and I'll stop there but basically any type of breakfast/brunch/lunch item is certainly on this menu. I ordered the two eggs breakfast and it was all standard good breakfast eats. The general consensus for the myriad of items we ordered were all solid breakfast foods. We had 5 pieces of bacon. Cooked to perfection 10/10 Strawberry rhubarb French toast with whip cream. This was sweet enough you don't even need the syrup but oh so delicious! 10/10 Waffle with fresh berries and whip cream. This was also delicous in its own and didn't need any syrup. I'd been hearing about this place forever, so we got up early Saturday morning to get breakfast at 8 am here. Seated immediately, pretty comfy place. Cute decor. But the food was really disappointing. I had the avocado toast, it could barely be cut. By this I mean that even holding my plate and sawing, the toast didn't want to break, looked as if I had a bread heel. Taste was decent, but not worth almost sawing my own finger off. Hubby ordered eggs Benedict, asked for extra hollandaise sauce. Normal amount came, he asked for the additional, food was cold by the time it arrived. His toast was actually very dark and couldn't be cut either. In addition, his egg was soft boiled so no runny yolk. Taste of individual components was fine, but at about $20 a plate, it feels like you should be able to cut through it. (Yes, we've had both these dishes and know how to cut them). Hubby has been here many times, he was so frustrated it was a let down. I was just bummed that a place this legendary wasn't more attentive to the details. Beverage refill was offered after we had eaten, so that wasn't much help. In all it's a bummer that I can't recommend this place. read more

We have been going quite often to The Issaquah Cafe for years and it's always been a pleasure. Many times the tables are full and people have to wait a little while. There has never been a noise problem even when the restaurant is full. Today, there was a group of about 12 younger people who probably worked together and had made reservations so they were all seated together. As soon as they arrived the noise level was disgraceful. They talked so loudly at each other the other people trying to enjoy their breakfast were completely overwhelmed. There was no ability to talk to each other. The only solution I can think of would have been for the manager to ask this loud group to have some consideration for the other patrons. That did not happen and after enduring the extreme noise for awhile, we were anxious to leave. This has never happened before so I won't give them a bad score, but it was certainly not a pleasant experience. The word consideration seems to be lost with the younger generation. read more
