    Turkish latte
    Don B.

Nice little spot to stop for food and coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful in offering advice on the menu. Had the Sujuk & Eggs which was a scrambled egg with Turkish sausage that tasted great and the sausage had the right amount of spice. No, it's not hot, just has spice. Also had the Turkish latte which had a nice kick that you would expect from this style of coffee. Great place and would recommend if you're in the area.

How wonderful to find high-quality authentic Turkish food in the seattle area!! I stopped in on a whim and couldn't have been more pleased. I can't recommend the lentil soup, muhammara, or carrot and garlic appetizer enough! Everything we had here was delicious and we need to go back to try more! The cheesecake was a DREAM and I've told my husband he needs to get me a full Berna's cheesecake for my birthday. Also if you have never had an authentic Turkish Delight, this is the place to try them. I wish Berna's nothing but success and will be making the trek from seattle to eat here again soon.

I absolutely loved my experience at Berna's Bakery! The food was amazing, especially the Turkish breakfast, everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully served. I really appreciate that all the food is halal, which makes this place even more special. The atmosphere inside was incredibly cozy and warm. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed like I was at home. The staff was kind and friendly, and the whole place had such a comforting vibe. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this bakery to everyone!

I really enjoyed this spot! The menu is a little different, so I wasn't exactly sure how to order, and the checkout girl wasn't able to explain the dishes. My only critique would be to provide guests with a bit more guidance on what each dish includes. For example, I didn't realize the eggs came with bread, so I ordered pastries as well. That being said, the food was amazing! Everything I ordered was delicious, so I think you really can't go wrong here. Once more photos are posted of the menu items it will be much easier to visually see the options, so I added mine to help you. :)

The food was good, but the service was extremely disappointing. From the very first minute the staff were unfriendly, almost as if I owed them something. I was also overcharged -- I paid $33 for two coffees and one pastry, and since they don't provide a receipt, you have no idea what you're actually being charged for. Later, when I ordered another dish, the waitress came over and said she had "just realized" that I had been overcharged earlier because they added a dish that didn't belong to me. She never showed me a receipt, never told me how much I overpaid, and I still have no information about when or if I'll get my refund. When I was leaving, no one said a word -- they literally turned their faces away. The whole atmosphere felt unpleasant and unprofessional. And the ironic part is that I had left a generous tip at the beginning.

Great food and service. Bread is freshly baked by owner every day. Nice to have this gem in Gilman square

Berna's is phenomenal! The closest I've had to traditional home cooked Turkish dishes since Istanbul. The place is open, airy, and beautiful. Even when it's busy, it never felt like a long wait- the ladies came by and made sure we were filled on tea. It's popular for a reason! I've been a few times and had the pastries, but this time I was blown away by the breakfast platter. My happy place truly is with family and friends enjoying Turkish tea with warm bread, fresh fruit and honey after sharing eggs and sides. Savory: - Eggs with Sujuk (Turkish spiced sausage- the best!!) - Olives - Hummus - Menemen (Turkish eggs) - 3 cheeses Sweet: - Fresh fruit - fresh cream with honey and honeycomb - incredible homemade blueberry AND apricot compote Included also Turkish tea or coffee and the most incredible assortment of homemade breads including soft loaves and simit (like a bagel)

    Dining area.

High quality food, every day fresh. Always fresh pastries. Authentic and delicious meals. Outrageously amazing coffee. Friendly and unobtrusive service. I can either make own choice or rely on personnel - always delighted! Interior done using fresh and light colors. Clean and pretty. A lot of space and light. Music is authentic and sound level is comfortable for conversations. Love it!

I read that she uses fresh, wholesome ingredients.. something I appreciate. So I contacted Gail for a custom order of 1/2 dozen assorted cookies and 1/2 dozen cupcakes. I just asked for just an assortment of what she had fresh that day. I believe the cupcake flavors were chocolate with cake batter frosting, chocolate peanut butter, coconut and possibly lemon or red velvet. As for the cookies, my friend got chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and peanut butter. Gail was so easy to work with through emails. And when she delivered the goodies, my friend wasn't home, but Gail called me for instructions and I gave her the okay to set it on the porch. She even took a picture for me to show that it was delivered. Couldn't really try the cupcakes and cookies, but my friend loved them! She said they really delicious, fresh and moist. I definitely recommend Taste of Amazing!

The ordering process was easy. I emailed her, told her I was thinking pork tenderloin, gave her my "dealbreakers" and she went to work. The pie and cupcakes were impulse buys, but I am glad that I did! She delivered the food items on Wednesday, and we ate the cupcakes on Friday. They were still moist and delicious. Not too much frosting, so that you could get a good bite with all of the flavors. The pie was essentially for my dad. He loves apple desserts. This pie was crumbly, and the apples still had bite. Plenty of cinnamon (he was concerned) and the sauce was sweet. I totally loved that Gail put the directions right on the package. There was no way I could mess this up! She was a total lifesaver, and I am so pleased that I decided to give her a try. I gave my parents a gift certificate for Christmas, so hopefully they get a chance to try out some more of her entrees. I'll be keeping her on speed dial when I need a little "assistance" in the kitchen!

This place has such a cozy, welcoming vibe with plenty of seating to sit back and actually enjoy your drink (bonus points for offering real "for here" cups!). I had a savory biscuit with cheese and herbs that was great and the perfect pairing with my cortado. There were tons of other tempting options too, from pastries to bagels and more. Overall, just a really nice spot with great offerings and a relaxed atmosphere. Such a great find--I'll definitely be back!

I don't love how greasy their croissants and sandwiches are. I wish they had better breakfasts or served food with protein that was less oily. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a sandwich I've gotten from here, and I swear I try them at least every other month. The vibes totally make up for their gross sammies and are my favourite thing about this place!! I love coming here for a reading date or to craft and yap with friends. I thought this was the better of the two cookies. I could feel its density throughout - there was a ton of weight to each bite. I also really like how the outside was baked hard and not soft, like the Cannoli one The icing was decent but I would've expected more of it. My favorite part about this was the white chocolate chips - which felt incredibly satisfying to bite into and tasted really good Wish the cookie contained more of them Out of the two, this was really the only one that had a crunch The Cannoli cookie disappointed me. First, the filling was really minimal compared to the rest of the cookie. It felt like it was 90% the outer cookie and 10% the cannoli filling on each bite The outside was ok - it was somewhat crumbly but tasted fine - but there was just a lot of it - and since there were no chocolate chips or any other fillings in the meat of the cookie other than just the dough - it got a bit old just getting like 90% dough You really don't taste the filling at all until you get to the edge of the cookie - where it combines well with the chocolate chips At this point, where I could actually taste the filling, I found it to be quite flavorful Unfortunately, I missed out on this taste for the majority of the remaning cookie Overall, I thought these cookies were probably good overall, but not worth the $5 price tag for each and certainly not worth the 600 and 760 calories respectively for each one

Each of us ordered a slice of crepe cake, which felt like a perfect way to end the night. Out of the seven slices, my husband's slice was still frozen in the middle. I walked up to the counter where two young guys were working and politely asked if we could get a different slice, since everyone else was already seated and eating. Instead of acknowledging me, they immediately started speaking Chinese to each other without even a simple "one moment" or any indication they were discussing the issue, so I eventually just walked back to our table. About five minutes later, after they had apparently consulted with a woman in the back, one of the guys finally came over and told us they would not exchange the slice because my husband had already tried it. We were all just sitting there, honestly dumbfounded. A basic level of customer service would have been to apologize and swap one slice of cake, especially when you have a whole group there to celebrate. You didn't just refuse to replace a frozen slice of cake--you lost seven customers over the way you handled it. We will not be coming back.
