The chocolate dessert had 3 different textures and a lovely rich flavor. The dinner menu is very small. A couple of starters. Two salads but only one available. Four entrées but only 2 available. I wasnt a fan of the lemon tart. Too much crust and not enough lemon filling. This was an incredible Parisian patisserie. Lots of breakfast items to choose from-- savory, sweet, somewhere in between. I came with my sisters-in-law and we had a good time. I ordered the French toast which was very soggy and cold. What I received compared to the description felt like two entirely different things. Food quality is a 5+. service is a 1, hence the 3 rating. It's also very pricey, but the quality of the ingredients suggests that the markup isn't artificial. In fact, I'm a diabetic and I don't get a glucose spike when I eat these pastries which is pretty amazing. I still get into the 160's so I have to go for a walk, but it's nothing like other Americanized bakeries and grocery store pastries. Farine is the same quality, but maybe 1 star less for taste. We came here very much on accident one evening, and left talking about how excited we are to be coming back at some point. We met some friends in Bellevue for a couple of nights, and decided to leave the kids in the hotel, and have an adult date night. We wanted somewhere where we could grab drinks and also Grab a quick snack. This was the perfect spot! They had significant amount of outdoor seating that fed seamlessly into the restaurant. We came in, picked out a croissant (delicious) and or seated promptly. It seems like everybody here is French, knows French or has spent time in France. The combination of accents and knowledge of French cuisine was impressive! They have desserts displayed in a case inside the restaurant. It was a unique combination of beautiful and delicious with options ranging from classic all the way to very specific Middle Eastern desserts. We sampled three and loved each of them! This is the sort of place that you can come withtwo people or 10, and you have an opportunity to try both things that are familiar as well as things that you probably have never seen before. The restaurant doesn't have a parking lot, which makes the only options paying to park in a nearby garage or finding street parking. There is usually some street parking in front of tapster. The service here is terrible. We were seated and no one came to take our order until after we had approached them to take it (15 minutes at least). The food here is decent but not worth the price. The veggie omelette was decently cooked, the eggs Benedict croissants were nothing special. The resturant is pretty with floor to ceiling windows and has a small patio (only for smaller tables). The Salade Poulet was generous with the chicken--plenty of protein and very satisfying. The Salmon & Avocado Eggs Benedict Croissant stood out with a rich portion of salmon tucked into a buttery, flaky croissant. I only wish it came with a second egg, as there was just one, but it was poached well.  The Almond & Hazelnut Croissant was a perfect finish--sweet frangipane for the almond and heavy nutella vibes for the hazelnut. We were seated by the window without a reservation, and our server was a kind, attentive young woman who made the experience even better. It honestly made me crave a proper chocolat chaud with a warm croissant. For food, I ordered the Quiche Lorraine and my friend got the French toast with berry compote. We were both blown away. My first bite was actually the side salad, and I was surprisingly impressed with the dressing. The quiche itself was perfect--and the crust... so good. My friend loved the French toast. It was perfectly soaked and paired really well with the berry compote. My husband and I found this gem when we had a staycation in Bellevue. We really loved it!!! We got seated immediately even when we didn't make a reservation. We loved coming to this place because of the excellent food by chef Giovanni, but furthermore because the service was nothing short of outstanding. Sadly, it's the exact opposite now. Chef is gone and now the range of food and wine is drastically diminished. I'd advise on the quality of what remains but we literally got up and left due to the repugnant attitude of the waiter, who identified himself as the manager and was all too happy to see us leave after some unpleasantries were exchanged. I think this restaurant's days remaining in business can be measured in days or weeks, not months. It's sad because the owner obviously put some real creativity and money into the design of the wine bar side of the establishment, but as many restaurateurs have learned the hard way, the nature of the personnel can make or break a business, and this place has gone from one extreme to the other in that regard. I really like this place's croissants, but please, please, please stay away if you're planning on dining in! My party interacted with several staff, and each of them, for whatever reason, had a negative attitude like they couldn't be bothered and if they did bother it was such an intrusion. There's some strange us vs them atmosphere. I could understand if the place was busy, but it was half empty and there were 5-6 staff members just giggling like a group of high schoolers and not attending to anyone until they were flagged down. Just literally walked into this place because I thought the pastries looked nice as I was walking by. I entered with my service dog to purchase some pastries and I was immediately stopped at the door and told that I couldn't be serviced because I had a dog. I politely told the man and the woman that my dog is a service dog. They cut me off and said that they don't allow dogs period. Mind you they had a sign on their door that says "trained service dogs are allowed." I was confused so I just pointed out to them that they have signage on their door that trained service dogs were allowed and they still said no. Again I politely asked them about purchasing something (which my intention was to purchase and leave). The woman then back tracked and told me I could sit outside but it's currently 45 degreesF out and all their seats and tables were wet from earlier rain. I wish situations like this wouldn't happen and that people would first assess the situation before making assumptions or statements. Honestly it made me feel horrible because it wasn't even that they wouldn't seat me but they wouldn't allow me to purchase anything if I had my service dog with me. I have walked into so many places knowing that people may feel weird about a dog in the establishment so often times I try to just purchase and then leave and go eat outside. But to not even be allowed to purchase it honestly felt like it had to do with more than just my service dog. Like they wouldn't even hear me out as if anything that came out of my mouth was irrelevant. As an Asian American woman I encourage people to visit other French pastry shops because there are plenty that have amazing, understanding, and accommodating staff. This place is not one of them. I used to like this place, but based on my most recent experience, I'd call it overpriced and unhygienic. I recently visited to get some croissants and I was shocked to see so many flies on the croissants! The person working there packed two for me, despite the flies on them and I had to ask him to get me some from the back as I wasn't comfortable eating croissants with flies on them! Also, I saw a small raspberry mousse and I got tempted to buy one. At payment I realized it was 16 dollars! I thought it must be exceptional, but it was just a raspberry mousse, a good one, but not worth that much for sure! There are several other french bakeries in Bellevue with higher quality baked goods, much more reasonable prices and higher health and safety standards. L'Experience Paris is extremely bougie, but because of that, is extremely overpriced. You know it's bougie because they don't list the prices in the display (or even what the items and ingredients), so you don't know how much you're paying until you get to the register. Because of that, we paid $45 for 2 desserts and 1 almond croissant. That's $15 each. A bit outrageous, no? The almond croissant was flaky and had a layer of almond paste that was well-balanced. The apple tart was not as good. It fell apart and the tart shell seemed disconnected from the rest of it. The choux was fine, but no noticeable flavors in the cream other than the pecans themselves. One of their big sellers are Pierre Herme macarons, which is a famous brand from France, and they are one of the only authorized retailers in Washington. I've had them in Paris, and yes, they're delicious, but I'm not sure it's worth the additional cost purchasing them from L'Experience. They also had other lovely gift packs like charcuterie boards, coffees, and pannetones for sale, also at very expensive prices. If you can afford it, I suppose it is a beautiful gift, but can be recreated for much cheaper. The staff were kind enough to explain what the different pastries in the case were, since there were no signs. There is only one single stall gender-neutral bathroom. There is 1 hour free garage parking in the SOMA building, which you can either print out a slip on the machine or use the QR code. The bakery also serves brunch and dinner, but we only partook in the bakery aspect, so I can't speak to the food. read more

This place was real recommended from my husband's coworker who is French. He said this is an authentic French bakery and we decided to give it a try. The cross songs are one of the best things they have. It's buttery, it's flaky, and always super fresh. The quiche is also fantastic and I like the side salad it is served. The greens have a very soft. The last time I was there and waitress was wonderful. I forgot her name but she could speak Portuguese and she's not funny either Brazil or Portugal. What a great French bistro. We joined some friends of ours here on a Sunday for brunch. We had a variety of things on the menu that were all delicious! The eggs benedict was unique on a croissant (never had that before and was absolutely the right way to go). My spouse had the omelet and it was made to perfection. So light, flavorful and filling! Our service was great. Our waitress was attentive, took time to explain things and had a smile the entire time.
