CJ and Billy were amazing! great wine and great food! Highly recommend getting a dessert on the way out.

The large windows and the ambience of the space are really what sell it for me. The brunch is also very delicious although seems like it's a little pricey for what it is. The desserts and the dessert case are also delicious and I would highly recommend grabbing a croissant or two. My only gripe with this location is finding parking. There is an attached parking garage under the soma towers, but if that lot is full, it can be tricky to find parking in the surrounding area read more

Service was generally very bad. You had to explicitly ask for utensils, napkins, or sugar/sweetener for the coffee. Even when you asked, often nothing would happen. They forgot the dish of my wife, which added insult to injury. The cheese plate had barely any cheese. We asked for a warm baguette, and it was not warm, plus it was hard. They had only two out of main dishes available. Soup was salty. Salad had little dressing. Child seat was extremely low for the tall table. Quiche was too cold. Safe to say we are not coming again. Do not recommend. read more

Amazing service and great dolce selection! We stopped by as a group after the dinner we had a great time! They had a open seats outside and it was perfect summer night with wines and sweets. We ordered one each of everything from dolce show case and my favorite one was Yuzu fravor. read more

I love Cepae - for their amazing food, super friendly and efficient service, and they are locally owned. The founder and owner, Julien Hervet, was born and raised in France and then moved to the United States to get his MBA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then worked in tech for many years. Julien is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about wine and has a wine shop that shares the space with the bakery/cafe. Support this local gem! read more

They're not currently doing wine tasting! I was disappointed that this info was not made available on their site beforehand, since I drove all the way out here. However, our server was very friendly and gave recommendations for wine by the glass. I do love their decor. They have a small outdoor patio and indoor seating with cute teddy bears! They also serve pastries and macarons! I didn't try them but they looked really good. read more

Cepae Tasting Room - Wine Tasting Room Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

I was stoked to try it out but it was so full there was only space for me at the counter. My visit didnt start out great with the hostess being a bit snotty about me not having reservations. Of course its a Sunday and its busy but I'm visiting from out of town, how would I know? The manager came to help and set me up at the bar. She was lovely, professional and you could tell she had been doing it for a while, she had everything down to the T. My food came out promptly and was great. Their quiches are amazing. If I had a table I would have stayed longer but the stools werent super comfortable. Inside is beautifully decorated, modern and chic. There is a 2nd floor as well but I didnt see upstairs. Parking is limited on the street, but a garage close by is available. read more

We met for drinks and snacks on the gorgeous patio of Cepae as a glamorous going away party for our friend moving to NYC. This super swanky wine bar in downtown Bell puts the C in chic. With its urban design it sports clean modern lines, a long wood and black bar, and lush vegetation growing in planters for a splash of color. Their outdoor patio is refreshing and comfy with plush grey couches and table service. We were able to snag spots on the couches and enjoyed the beautiful day while sipping some wine. They have a great happy hour from 4:30-6 and 9-close that we fully intended to take advantage of. We each ordered some wine off the happy hour menu, though of course they have an extensive selection if you prefer something else. With this being a french patisserie I wasn't shocked that there were a lot of restrictions because of my gluten allergy, but I was pleased to see they do have some options! We ordered the charcuterie and fromage which was beautifully presented on a white marble board with a selection of cured meats, cheeses, and some gorgeous fresh figs. The black truffle chips were also fantastic. The others enjoyed the le crabe and I at least gave it compliments to its lovely presentation. On the dinner and lunch menus there are a few more gf options, but don't expect a ton if you are celiac. Our service the whole afternoon was excellent with our server and wine steward helping us make good choices to accompany our snacks we'd ordered. Quite a lovely place though I wish that I could sample more of their menu. read more

Came for coffee, left with a bellyful of mimosas, charcuterie and fromage. Despite the fact that it wasn't happy hour, we told the staff what we were hankering for and they obliged with this beautiful platter of meats and cheeses. The bread was amazing and it was a perfect lunch selection. Love the friendly staff here and the French ambiance of either a bakery or a wine bar. read more

The addition of this French wine bar to downtown Bellevue is amazing! We planned on visiting the bakery (La Parisienne), but were enticed by the looks of the wine bar. We were greeted immediately and the ways of the wine bar were explained to us. I decided to leave it up to our host and he picked out four French wines for me to sample. My guy had a glass of white wine and then proceeded, later on in the visit, to order the 6 for $6 champagne tasting; I, later, joined in as well. We went home with three bottles (and a "mystery" bottle for free)! I highly recommend a visit here and I look forward to returning. read more

An excellent place to celebrate a sunny Saturday kickoff to the holiday weekend. We started with the cheese-stuffed gougeres. They were fabulous and, with a salad, could make a meal on its own. The three-cheese plate was just right for two; the cheeses selected were flavorful without being too unusual for mainstream tastes. We shared an entree - a creamy pasta with shaved truffle and Jamon. The pasta was undercooked, chewy rather than toothsome. The chocolate mousse was the meal's crown!! We truly enjoyed the champagne and our glass of Passe Partout. A few negatives - the online menus have not been updated, and so we came expecting Happy Hour and a completely different set of food options. The garage parking is unclear. You have to get a ticket as you park, not as you leave. That cost us a $66 fine. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in Bellevue. Not necessarily for the coffee (even though it is good)... but for the pastries. Every single ingredient in every pastry is flown in from France. The flour is from France, the sugar is from France.... the only thing that isn't from France is the berries (which are local). They taste unbelievable. Their breakfast is also amazing! I even like their lunches. I've been going here about once a week since I moved to downtown Belleuve. Aiden is a barista there who is the nicest guy ever and makes you feel at home in the coffee shop. Can't say enough good things about this place! Sometimes they have specials on their wine and it's delicious as well! I've been able to expand my pallet on French wines a bit! read more

Cepae Tasting Room - Eggs Benedict with Serrano ham and fresh baked French bread! - Wine Tasting Room Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

A French wine bar in downtown Bellevue? Hell yeah! Located in the same building as La Parisienne Bakery, Cepae is the sister bar to the bakery, as it's also owned and operated by the same owners of La Parisienne. Cepae is bright and spacious with high ceilings and large windows. There's bar seating, in addition to table seating and an outdoor patio with couches where your dog is allowed! Cepae also has a large TV for your viewing pleasure. In my latest visit to Cepae I tried a rose flight where the employee was able to deliver it to me out on the patio and tell me about each, different wine, ranging from specific areas in France. Great customer service and knowledgeable about their products! The variety of wines here is excellent, as there is a lot to choose from in all price points. Just make sure you ask the staff for recommendations, which they are happy to do. In addition to wine are some food items, including a happy hour menu that's offered from 430-6pm. And of course since they share space with La Parisienne, you can get food from there, too. They also have a wine club where members get discounted wines and specials. I'm thrilled this is walking distance to my place, as there's nothing better than enjoying a glass or two of French wines in a relaxing setting. In fact, it's encouraged to take your time here, as you will never feel rushed from the staff to check out until you're ready to. Just remember that like in France, Cepae is closed on Sundays. Sante! read more

Only giving it 4 stars bc we didn't try the food! However the waitress who helped us was soo nice & very knowledgeable about the wine! Made wonderful recommendations. It smells yummy in there, and the chocolate mousse was being ordered like crazy. We live very far from Bellevue, but if we were ever back in the area, we would return for a glass of wine and some French pastries. read more

Took a lunch break dt bellevue and stumbled into the La Parisienne French Bakery and Cepae after seeing the gorgeous patio outside with door wide open. Big sign says soft opening. I am not an expert in pastries by any means but I did order 2 of my faves to try and compare. Palmier and chocolate croissant. Palmier was not in glass case. Just out on counter near where people pay so that was a slight turn off but Im weird with germs. Still i had to try it. To me - it is ok. I wish it had sugar. But I've never been to France so maybe this is the legit real version and people like it that way. Next...Chocolate croissant = mmmmmmmm. Next time I'll order a regular croissant. I could picture a glass of wine and croissant here out on patio vs my to go order ( beautifully wrapped up in white small cake box that i wanted to keep and not throw out) Everything was presented beautifully and you see white chef uniforms and hats in the background. Wish there was someone up front talking more about the product offerings or giving samples but I think that might come later on. But opportunity especially during bellevue lunch times to have someone up front selling/ sampling/ introducing the menu. Could see this being a popular happy hour spot but limited seats outside. Also- Im still confused on the concept - it is 2 in one space ? I almost opened a separate yelp business for La Parisienne French Bakery Bellevue but saw this was already stared for Cepae. Update... I have passed by now several times since i last reviewed and they always have the patio doors wide open and it never seems too crowded inside. Would love to do a hh here if i didnt have to take the kiddo home. read more

I love this place it is cozy and quaint. My first experience here was at a Yelp Elite event last year and I have been hooked ever since. To stop in for a glass of wine, coffee and croissant in the early afternoon is quite delightful. The wine selection is quite extensive and you can try them by the taste, glass or bottle. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The pricing is quite reasonable and Julien's knowledge of the wines on the shelf is amazing. If you are out in the afternoon and looking for a light snack and glass of wine to get you through, this is the place. If you are out for the evening and you want someplace to have some great wine this is your place. Rather latte or wine I cannot suggest a better place to come and explore what this place has to offer. In downtown Bellevue stop by Cepae, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy read more

Loved this place! So cute, great wine and tea selection! Would highly recommend getting the cheese platter and any of the baked items (which I'm sure you'll smell and be tempted anyway!). Such a cool little spot, very unique. Only complaint is the high table seats are extremely uncomfortable. None of us knew how to sit at them I had to rest my leg down onto the ground and do a half stand lol read more

Just visited Cepae last night as part of Yelp's Winery Adventure tour. This event was for Yelp elites, a night of tasting and bites. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, and you can tell they truly care about the business and educate while they serve with a smile regardless of your experience or wine knowledge. There is free 2-hour parking in the Soma Towers garage which is really convenient as well. It isn't your validation style, you simply park, go to the machine by elevator and print out a 2 hour retail receipt and place it on your dash. Need more than 2 hours? Go back and print another! Just don't get caught over-time, I hear its a $70 ticket. The space at Cepae is beautiful, well-decorated with a good mix of fancy flair while remaining casual and inviting. Surely somewhere you can bring a date, or stop in after work for some wine and bites. The wine selection seems incredible, and I can't wait to come back to try more. I really enjoyed the sparkling rose, perfectly refreshing and flavorful- would love to keep that flowing this summer. The other wine I tried was a fantastic cotes du rhone- dry and well flavored. The cheese, bread, and bites paired excellently with the social atmosphere and wine flow- and made for an overall exciting and enjoyable event. Happily adding Cepae to my list of go-to winebar stops in Bellevue. Cheers! read more

I came here with friends last night and there were some good and not-so-good moments. The Good: my wine was yummy, the wine list was impressive, and my salmon tartine was excellent! The Not-so-Good: We got a pretty pretentious vibe from our server (we know wine, but he made us feel like we didn't). When my friend asked for a little butter with her bread, he made a big deal about how they only have the most expensive butter in the world and even brought out the little butter packet to show her. And the check was not correct - he said he thought they comped one of my wine glasses - but then he brought back my check and he had added the glass back on. After you tell a customer that you've comped something, it's not too nice to add it back on. Overall, it was a pretty spot for a date, and the food/wine was good, but I probably won't return. read more

Great place for a glass of French wine. Nice ambience, knowledgeable staff and most of all, good French wines (bordeaux, burgundy, province, Rhone and so on) that are hard to find elsewhere (except France). Cepae shares the space with La Parisienne a French bakery so the charcuterie comes with the real French baguette I recommend wine flights (tasting five diff wines) because it's fun! read more

My wife and I's visit to Cepae was a terrific experience! We decided to sit at the bar during happy hour. My wife tried a flight of 3 different white wines and I decided to try a flight of 3 different red wines plus adding in their happy hour wine on their menu. You can pretty much try any wine they have available for a very affordable price, especially being in Downtown Bellevue! Most of the wines you're able to "taste" for between $2.00 and $3.00 from what I could remember. Their happy hour menu was quite tasty as well as we chose to get a little tasting place of cheeses, meats, and other hors d'oeuvres...bread with butter was yummy too! The service is top notch, their sommelier, who served us was very knowledgeable and made our experience even better. On a nice day, you're able to sit outside. They even serve coffee from Victrola Coffee Roasters, sell French pastries and other products, and you can purchase unique wines that you're unable to find in most of the big box retailers since they have a direct relationship with the manufacturers. We will definitely go back to Cepae and try some other wines. This place trumps the other wine spots imho... Enjoy! read more

I've been here twice for two events. One, a wine tasting event through my children's school, and second, my husbands 40th birthday where I threw him a private party. Marlene helped me plan my husbands birthday event and her help was impeccable each step of the way. We had 25 friends and family attend and from the appetizers, to the wine selection, to the choice of dinner entrees down to the cakes, everything was delicious, so tasty and received rave reviews from our guests. Whether you're looking for a wine tasting, a delicious dinner or a full on private event, Cepae is the perfect choice. The way Marlene helped us plan the perfect party for our group exceeded all expectations and I would not change a thing. Thank you for such a memorable evening! read more

The wine was great. Burger not so much. First, burger took a while, almost 30 mins. Second, meat had a little funk, like it was too old. Third, bun was toasted to the point of being rock hard. Lastly, burger was way smaller than the bun, which was supposedly made in house, but tasted like cardboard. I haven't tried rest of the menu, but would have probably been happier just eating a charcuterie board as a meal. read more

I first discovered this place by attending a Yelp event and had been wanting to return for quite some time. Well made it twice in November and neither time disappointed! Denise helped us both times and she was absolutely wonderful! It was fun to taste all of the wines the two weekends that we went. I love that the tasting fee is refunded if you purchase a bottle AND all of the bottle prices are incredibly reasonable. It was so fun to talk to Denise about the origin of each of the wines and the uniqueness of some of the wineries. While we cannot eat any of the pastries since we are gluten free, I am tempted to cheat every time I visit! We hope to make it back soon either for another tasting or for a lovely glass of wine from their extensive list. read more

One of the best hand selected wine list in the state, easily one of the best in the country. A very unique concept offering all the wines by a "tasting" and "glass" sizes, as well as retail. They have an amazing menu that they pair the wines to if you ask and always love to share the store of the wine! Their team is very attentive even though it's ran as a bakery for the first half of the day, making you feel pampered at all time. I will definitely be using them to cater my company events and host some their too! read more

120 wines by the glass -- outdoor seating -- amazing. But then the service was very slow -- they were always friendly but I had to go looking for them more than once. The wines, 5oz or 1/2oz, covered a wide area but were mainly French. I was really surprised they only had five Washington wines! Of the 8 wines I tried, they were all very pedestrian with lots of sweetness and zero acidity. Quiet possible I picked wrong -- but even after describing my desired wines the recos were uninspired. That said, the cheese was very good. The butter and bread was fantastic. read more

A slice of France right in the heart of downtown Bellevue! My fiancé and I luckily found this gem on a quick "wine bar" search near Bellevue. We had never seen it before and were extremely eager to check it out. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly staff behind the bakery counter & then by our bartender, Adam who was very eager to help us pick out some great wines to try. With over 120 wines by the glass, it's hard to choose! In addition to the wine, we indulged in a couple pastries and a charcuterie board, which was AMAZING! The French baguette was the best we've found in the states after several trips to France - that's saying something :) From start to finish, it was a top notch experience and we cannot wait to go back! read more

We decided to try Cepae for drinks and dinner last night and it was surprisingly great! I love trying new wines and this place was definitely a great option. The staff was friendly and nice, albeit a tad slow but it was fine overall. We ended up ordering the risotto and halibut, accompanied by the ratatouille and roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious. The reason for docking one star is because the chairs are awful - small, uncomfortable and hard. We ended up moving seats to a lower table which ended up to be ok but the chairs definitely make you want to leave sooner than you'd like! Otherwise, a good choice for something different in Bellevue! read more

Absolutely OUTSTANDING addition to the eastside! The space is modern and sleek in design; high ceilings and lots of windows give it an airy feel that's quite pleasant especially if you visit in the day time. Cepae has a wonderful selection of carefully and expertly curated wines and champagnes from France -- a lovely tour away from the WA varietals. Their coffees and espressos are actually quite good as well -- and a perfect accompaniment to a classic croissant or freshly made on-site pastry. The cheese portions are generous and delicious. The mains are beautifully presented and well executed in the classical French style. Tip: get the gougeres -- they are fabulous as a starter to excite your palette or as as a snack to go with your wine. The desserts are the crowning glory, however. Warning: I guarantee you will try one and end up buying a bunch to take home. read more

Absolutely abysmal. The staff were nice enough but they collectively couldn't find their asses with both hands. The food was ok and the wine was good but as of writing, they still haven't brought the food we ordered and it's been nearly an hour. This is an really wonderful find in Bellevue! I was so happy with my service and the chocolate treats were so good. Very French

The overall experience was pretty uncomfortable. The waitress had a serious bone to pick with everyone. She couldn't get through her initial schpeal because she was so annoyed with a crying child. Then she was condescending about people not knowing the difference between sparkling rose vs champagne rose. She later offended a couple so much that they left before even ordering. The sirloin was good, but not worth $52. The duck was over cooked for both people and doesn't come with any sides - like 1/2 a baby carrot and 1/2 of a single cherry. When we expressed that the duck was unseasoned and asked for additional sauce, the waitress was put out and told us that we are supposed to be tasting just straight duck... no seasoning. She then brought out a plate of desserts without any explanation and just expected us to select something. It was really an unfortunate and uncomfortable experience. They weren't even remotely busy for a Saturday night and we felt really rushed. The service was bad bad bad. read more

Food was subpar. Do not order the duck, but if you must then know that the duck is suggested to be ordered at medium rare, but comes out as well, bland, and dry. It is served with only a baby carrot that is sliced in four thin pieces with one cherry cut in half. On top of that the serving waitress was very condescending and in a hurry, so come prepared to know what you want to order and know the kind of wine that they serve. If you are lucky then you probably won't get the same server as us, didn't get her name, but with black rim glasses. Overall, not a great experience and way overpriced for tasteless food. read more

Ok... finally they have upstaged their menu to make it more reasonable and affordable to their audience. HH from 4:30-6 you can get glasses of wine from $5-7, and food from $6-9. They have a good variety to chose from. Sit at the bar and have Denise serve you and she is awesome. Knowledgeable about her wine and great recommendation. You can purchase a bottle ... so let's say their Rosè on their HH menu is $5 you can purchase a bottle for $13... one downside if you plan on drinking that bottle there it's an additional $30. So might as well take it home and drink. Great place to host events, they can pre-fix your menu for your group and offer great wine pairing. They also offer breakfast over the weekend and have a great selection. Their menu and offerings is perfect for the Bellevue residence, like myself that live walking distance. I recommend this place.
