I usually enjoy the food at Nordstrom Grill because the quality is consistently good and everything tastes fresh. The menu is solid and it's usually a great place to grab a casual meal while shopping. That said, the service during my last few visits has been very slow. Most recently, it t took 28 minutes to get a salad and another 15 minutes just to get soup, which felt excessive for relatively simple items. The food itself was great once it arrived, but the long wait definitely affected the overall experience. Great food, weak service so i'd recommend going here if you have a couple hours to wait around. read more

I was actually quite pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I had set the bar low because it's a cafe in a mall and we all know about mall food. But Nordstrom Grill is definitely high quality. I ordered it to go and it came very nicely packaged in an eco friendly container (thank you for not using the annoying black plastic containers!). I ordered the side salad, plus grilled cheese with tomato soup. Grilled cheese was definitely more on the oily side so I might pass next time but I thought the quality and presentation was impressive for a cafe. The tomato soup definitely tastes made in house and the croutons on the salad were also made in house. The greens and tomatoes were fresh and I loved the green goddess dressing or whatever it was on my side salad. It was delicious! I would definitely come back to try other things like a salmon dish or the ginger sesame salad. This place exceeded my expectation and I think it deserves a solid 4. "You can't go home again, or, the case of the abominable french fries" I am a huge fan of the Nordstrom Grill. I usually go to the one downtown, but occasionally I visit the location here at Bellevue Square. My experience tonight has me thinking that there is something seriously wrong with this location at this time, and I do not recommend patronizing this location until they get their act back together. THE ROSES: the kitchen still executes some dishes, really well. Their classic lobster bisque is delicious as always. My burger was well well executed. My Ketel One martini, while possibly overpriced ($30 with tip!), was still well executed and delicious. THE THORNS: my problems with this location of the Nordstrom Grill are twofold: firstly, they seem to have forgotten who they are. The front of the house staff is frankly too casual. The hostess was dressed in a leather biker jacket, a Breton striped top, black jeans, and sneakers. if she wasn't standing occasionally at the hostess podium, you would never think she worked there. Table service is sadly indifferent at at best, and frankly not that professional. Halfway through dinner our server went MIA, and other servers ignored by efforts to make eye contact. It's a level of service I would be OK with if we were talking about the neighborhood brew pub, but not the Nordstrom Grill. Doesn't the Nordstrom name stand for anything anymore? The biggest problem though is the french fries. I ordered a burger with fries specifically because I really wanted some nice fries. I had just come back from France and was missing their wonderful frites. Surely the Nordstrom's Grill can make some good fries, right? Unfortunately, no. The fries looked good. They were seasoned perfectly, but they had the texture of chewy cardboard. Seriously, gentle readers, I have found old French fries under the seat of my car that tasted fresher than these! Speaking as someone who has eaten a lot of well executed fries, and when I feel like breaking out the deep fryer, can make some damn good ones myself, I know exactly what happened here: these french fries were STALE! They had been made some time ago, and apparently left under the warming lamp since the Biden administration. I'm sorry, but this is simply inexcusable at these prices, and for a product that is being sold under the Nordstrom name. Seriously, whatever happened to the standard, 'If you're not proud of it, don't sell it'. How long does it take to drop a portion of fries to order for chrissakes? I've had better fries at McDonalds!!! WHY ONE STAR? I agree, a one star rating is very extreme. In a less expensive place with a lower pedigree, I would've given my dining experience two stars, but gosh, darn it, this is NORDSTROM! The Nordstrom name has been synonymous with quality and customer service for generations. This location of the Nordstrom Grill is slumming. It is coasting. It is mailing it in. It is punching so far below its weight it is simply inexcusable. Therefore, I am awarding it one star in hopes that someone at Nordstrom reads these reviews and will take the appropriate steps to correct whatever is going wrong here. THE VERDICT: Indifferent service, and a lack of attention to detail regarding what comes out of the kitchen has brought a once quality dining establishment down low. I strongly recommend Nordstrom seriously consider sacking this location's management and giving this location a serious personnel reboot. The elan and pride of craft that is normally associated with the Nordstrom name simply is not anywhere to be seen here. The commitment to excellence that pervades the rest of the store seems to stop at the entrance of The Nordstrom Grill Do not recommend. The Nordstrom grill is great because it's a restaurant inside Nordstrom - but that's about where the greatness ends. The food is okay at best and the prices are ridiculous. Service was good all the way up until we actually got our food, and then it was like we were forgotten about. We had to physically chase someone down to bring us our check. I had the French onion soup which didn't have much cheese just a ton of bread and some truffle fries which were decent, but neither were worth the price. If you can hold your hunger I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

We stopped in because my friend needed to pick up bday gift for my son. Ive never even thought to eat inside of a Nordstrom. We were greeted and seated and it wasn't very busy. The initial check in from our server was good then once our food came out she seemed to vanish. We had to ask the bus boy for water refills and to go boxes. I had the Cobb salad with salmon and the salad was delish but the salmon was very salty. We also started with the calamari but i don't enjoy fried foods much any longer and I had a few and passed. Nordstrom grille is a huddle gem in Bellevue Square. Lots of restaurants in the mall have wait lines over 30+ min, this is a great place to sit down and grab some lunch. (We didn't have to wait at all). I ordered the braised beef sandwich with side salad, a cup of split pea soup and my boy ordered salmon. The soup was very good, full of flavor and great texture. My boy's salmon was slightly overcooked but I figured the chef wanted to be sure the kids meal is fully cooked. The beef sandwich was a bomb. I wasn't expecting food if this great quality. Service was very friendly and helpful. There is not much ambiance but got multiple TVs with diff sports on. A great place to take a break from shopping with No or very short line. A busy place but the 5 of us were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a crispy chicken sandwich, a high fancy roast beef sandwich and a couple hamburgers. I like that they cooked the hamburgers to order. And we were able to get a salad instead of fries. The salad was large and pretty good but perhaps too much dressing. Better than not enough. My hamburger was cooked as I asked but the meat was flavorless. I've had much better hamburgers. The fried chicken sandwich was reported to be okay. His fries were good. The roast beef sandwich was so so. I think the French dip would have been better. The two who shared a hamburger did finish theirs, but the other three ate only a half of theirs. A combination of lot of food and not especially delicious. If you are hungry and tired from shopping as we were, eating here is a reasonable option. Located on the second floor of Nordstrom is this establishment! I've never eaten inside of a Nordstrom establishment before so this was a very interesting first experience for me. We went around 3pm on a Friday and got seated right away. The hosts were very friendly and easy to talk to. It wasn't too busy either, so that was nice! Upon getting seated, we were greeted pretty quickly by our server as well and she was very friendly from the get-go and was very knowledgeable about the menu! We also found out it was Happy Hour! So $10 cocktails was the way to go for our drink of choice besides water for this late lunch. Haha. I forgot the name of the drinks we ordered, but they were both very refreshing and really well made. I did manage to get a photo of them, so if you want to try them, just show your photo to the server. Not all of their cocktail options are on the happy hour menu, but there are enough to select from! We ended up ordering the artichoke spinach dip & a cup of crab bisque as appetizers to share (you also have a choice of a bowl for the crab bisque). Both were honestly a 10/10!! Both very rich with flavor and we finished those quick! Haha. Definitely recommend them! For our main course, we ordered the prime French dip w/ salad and the Nordstrom burger (medium well) w/ fries. Both came with a housemade garlic dill pickle. The choices for your sides are: fries w/ kalamata olive aïoli or salad. The Kalamata olive oil aïoli was a very interesting sauce I've never had before. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite either. I only dipped the fries with it twice and we both didn't really use it after. But to each their own! You might like it more than we did. The servings are also big which we weren't really expecting. We ended up having to take some of our food back home. But back to the food... The prime French dip was really good!! It had enough meat and the bread was fresh! Their au jus was also made really well. The salad was okay though, I didn't enjoy it much and wish I got the fries instead. The Nordstrom burger was actually really good to our surprise. The fries were also well seasoned and crispy that we cleared out the whole fries from that dish! Overall a solid first time experience! Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their food as much as we did. The service was excellent as well! They frequently checked-in on us to make sure we were taken care of. It sure was an interesting environment to eat in because you're literally eating next to people who were shopping and shifting through clothing racks, but I didn't mind much. I enjoyed my experience. This is one of my guilty pleasures when I go shopping at the mall. Always park close by so I can swing by for the crab bisque. Salads are good, I don't know if you'll be blown away, but it is leafy greens. I can honestly say that the artichoke dip is one of the best things on the menu. Make sure you get the dip!! Sometimes you spend more time than expected at the mall and you decide that you should eat dinner somewhere. Howver if its a Friday or Saturday night then you will find that the wait list for everywhere you want to eat is an hour long. Fortunately there is the Nordstrom Grill and more fortunately the menu is really good. We went for the French Dip, the French onion soup, and the salad. All were well prepared and I would not hesitate to recommend. There is also a full bar and they made a very nice Negroni. I would definitely return. At least half of the time that I am at Bellevue Square I choose to eat here. I like the coziness and convenience that this restaurant offers. It has a small but nice menu with very good selections. My favorite dish is the Nordstrom Burger. It is a good size portion and comes with skinny fries. The special sauce that comes with it is my FAVORITE. If you like olives so you going to like it. But if you don't tour surely will hate just like my husband LOL We never had trouble waiting for to long to be seated even when the mall is packed. Staff is super nice. A while ago my daughter was being difficult to eat and the staff refill her little bowl of fruit twice and they did not charge for it at all. Those little gestures make a huge difference for me. The kids menu had lots of options and I was impressed with the size of the portion, very generous! Nice time I come back here I got try different items. Decided to enjoy dinner after shopping. Always love to have lunch or dinner at either restaurants in nordstrom. We were greeted and served by this wonderful very energetic young man. It is a very rare nowadays to be able to enjoy wonderful food accompanied by great service. For appetizers, we ordered crab bisque, crispy calamari, crab artichocke spinach dip and roma tomato basil soup, and of course the heirloom tomato and burrata. Next for entree, Alderwood wild salmon over Asian pear salad, mushroom ravioli, special menu: ribeye and lamb with sweet potato and Farro. They all are delicious, just a tad in the salty side. To me it was a diner food inside Nordstrom. The food wasn't anything special at all. But yeah I would rather eating there if I am at the mall than having fast food. The service as well nothing special at all. It was the joke that we shouldn't ask our waiter anything as she seemed she is in bad mood. I honestly don't know if she was having a bad day or what. I did tell her about the celiac disease and I can't have gluten yet my burger showed up with bread and she was like oh yeah no bread let me take care of that. When I told her they have to make new one or I will get sick. the manager over heard me and he apologised and made sure they make new one and being careful. The place itself is fun as you are in the middle is Nordstrom so literally the smartest idea ever. My friend arrived around ten minutes after the food was served. However, I've been feeling uncomfortable in this ten mins while my server has been looking at me and talking to her colleagues about me until I told her I'm waiting for my friend. We ordered the French dip, the food was pretty good. Lots of meats and not dry at all. When Sophia, my server, filled our water the second time, she gave us carbonated water. Excellent dining experience after a heavy day of shopping at the Anniversary sale! I always love going to the restaurants inside all the Nordstrom's, the food is always really delicious. Food - they really deliver in terms of quality, taste, quantity and value. I ordered the prime Rib Dip -delicious; Fried chicken sandwich with fries ( ask them to make them extra crispy, no soggy fries for me!); turkey avocado sandwich with Caesar salad and the burrata with tomatoes- all delicious! Clean place, I like the re-do of the decor. Generous portion of the side of fries. The fry dip was very flavorful but it wasn't different enough from the tapenade so I give it an A for uniqueness. The bread was warm fresh and DELICIOUS, olive tapenade for filling was not too rich and sharp, it was perfect and I could have made a meal of it. I always ask for Tartar and ketchup for my fries and funny enough.... the fry sauce tasted like a mixture of the tapenade, the Tartar and the ketchup well, I guess it was a mix of all wonderful things! My crab and shrimp salad... really good. Yummy dressing, slightly heavy on the dressing, next time I'll ask for it on the side. The shrimp... let's talk about the shrimp. Maybe it's intended to be double fried. It wasn't heavy, I was just really really fried. Realllly fried. It didn't look appetizing in the plate and it was a lot to work on. I like fried food and I got tired of my meal halfway through. Really enjoyed our waiter, wish I got his name. Asian guy with small gages in the ears. This is still one of my favorite places to dine at Bellevue Square and I'm so glad the Grill is back! This was my first trip back to this restaurant since the redo and covid. Pros - while I miss the homey feel of the original space, I do love the modern update and it's bigger! - was pleased to see one of my favs, the seafood crab and shrimp salad, still on the menu! I always get the dressing on the side. - I didn't specify but my shrimp were perfectly cooked, not fried and huge! - a glass of Pinot Gris was the perfect compliment - service was prompt at lunchtime and pleasantly friendly. Food quality grading is 'OK' from the King county inspector, which is verging on not to standard. Despite that went to eat. Pretty horrible food quality and flavor. Been there multiple times but this is super low, definitely avoid until they do something about it. read more

Yes! Finally! Nordstrom Grill is back at Bellevue Square. More open than the original version, this one is light and airy. Great bar for a single or a pair. Shared a glass of rose with my friend, and a delicious cup of split pea soup (soup of the day). One star off for slow service during the shift change at 3pm and no soap in the ladies room. The first time at lunch I had the turkey and avocado club and the portion was huge and very tasty!
