Hadn't been to Pomegranate for a minute but the Seattle Restaurant Week menu included fried catfish, so that settled that. Since it's located inside a business park one of the first things you notice is how nicely the restaurant is appointed, especially the bar area. We decided to eat in the bar and watch the M's game, great choice. Super friendly bartender, on point all night long. Catfish was served with collard greens, fries and a cornbread wedge. Perfect combo. Instead of trying to describe it I will let the pictures tell the story. BTW this is exactly how SRW should be utilized. Loved our recent happy hour visit to Pomegranate Bistro with coworkers! The casual, welcoming vibe made it a perfect after-work spot, and we had no trouble getting a table at 4 pm on a Wednesday. We started with a $20 bottle of rosé, along with a few cocktails--the pomerita (which was delicious and definitely packs a punch!) and a whisky cocktail. Pomegranate Bistro was a great experience! I walked in close to closing on a Saturday night and I was seated right away. The lounge is a nice space and feels just as nice as the dining room. (I had a choice between main dining area & lounge & I chose the lounge). The host was very nice! The menu has a lot of really great selections. I chose the Al Pastor flat bread. Stumbled in here on the way to a hike on a Saturday morning! Their patio seating is pretty nice, but were also forced to sit outside due to having a Service Dog which per the "ADA State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is allowed to go". ln that sense, they definitely violated the ADA laws by forcing us to sit outside and not allowing us to sit inside so I'm unfortunately docking stars down for that since they need to properly educate themselves. Our service dog was leashed, and also under control per ADA requirements. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and my friend ordered a burger and friends. Pretty fresh food and plenty extra to take home with us to snack on later. Service was pretty on point with checking on us and topping our waters off. What great place! My son and his family brought here to celebrate the grandmas' birthdays. This was the first visit for my husband and myself. The service was outstanding. They were very attentive to us. We were a party of 8 that included 3 children. The kids had all been here before and were happy with the food. There were also placemats and crayon keep the kids busy. The menu is outstanding. It truly offers a good selection of comfort food. The orders at our table included several Benedict's, traditional breakfast, and biscuits and gravy. We also ordered the puffs and giant cinnamon roll to share with the table. All of the food was delicious and large proportions. Came here for Seattle Restaurant Week after not going for a while and I am so happy this got me back in the door! I started off with one of their special margaritas. I forget the name, but it was pink and FABULOUS! My friends loved their drinks as well. I got the gem salad as my appetizer. It was fine. It was just a salad, nothing very special about it. I wouldn't get it again probably. My main course was the salmon, which was perfect. Cooked perfectly, great flavor, and the miso glaze was lovely. I also loved the crispy rice it was served with. I found the steamed bok choy on the side to be very bland, and the server was eager to share this feedback with the chef so they can make changes, which was so kind. I finished with the gluten free coconut cake. It was kind of hard and dry, but I still enjoyed it. I was just happy about the gluten free option. The service is impeccable. Very kind and just on top of everything, we were well taken care of. The vibes are cool - we liked watching the kitchen/catering area in the back, but were slightly frightened by the large faces on all the lamps/artwork. Been to this spot many times, but usually for brunch. Ate here for lunch for the first time and was not disappointed. I ordered the Pom Breakfast Sandwich, which was very flavorful and a big portion. I also ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries which were amazing. My friends ordered the Chilaquiles and Tres Quesabirria Tacos, which were both enjoyed. There seems to be some discrepancies about whether dogs are allowed at the restaurant or not. Yes, Pomegranate Bistro is absolutely dog friendly. I brought my dog and sat on the small, cute patio area they have on the side of the building. The server even brought water out for the pup. Went as part of a group of 10 for a Saturday brunch. I haven't been here since pre-Covid lockdown so was eager to have their delicious Eggs Benedict. Sadly, it fell short! The biscuit was much smaller and dry. The poached eggs tasted too strongly of vinegar. The ham was mere shreds--not the meatier pieces of the past. Hollandaise was not warm. The potatoes that were supposed to be served were completely different from what the menu specified (and the server didn't say there was going to be a substitution) and they were cold. I didn't return my plate because I didn't want to wait for food while my nine other friends were eating. Was it because we were seated at a 10-top? We were the only table there besides two tables with couples. Not crowded. Three of us had meals that were disappointing and not what we've had in the past. Pom, what happened?! I visited here recently and had a more than lovely experience! This wasn't my first time coming here, but it was my first time coming for brunch and visiting the in-house bakery. Atmosphere was incredibly cozy, with the option to sit outdoors and the service was great. The showstoppers of the visit were the restaurant special Savannah Hot Puffs, and coconut banana muffin from their bakery. The hot puffs were reminiscent of fried cream puffs, slightly custardy in the middle and golden and crispy on the outside. They were served with a creme anglaise and lightly sweetened whipped cream which was heavenly!! The muffin was something I was pleasantly surprised by because I don't typically like coconut. But the texture of this treat was incredibly moist, and the toasted coconut added texture and a slightly nutty flavor that was addicting. Other dishes I tried included their chicken and waffles, (moist chicken and loved that it came with hot honey and natural maple syrup, personally would've preferred a crispier waffle.), homemade biscuit (flavorful and less crumbly than a traditional biscuit, enjoyed the freshness of the jam), and the granola fruit bowl (good portions and well balanced). From the bakery I also took home conchas, macarons (pineapple flavor was awesome), mini gingerbread cookie sandwiches (perfect amount of filling and gingerbread flavor was prominent without being overpowering) and their chocolate cake (decadent!!) The moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and seated by Brian, the General Manager, who also checked on us throughout our meal. Peyton, our server, arrived promptly at our table to take beverage orders and answer questions. She was friendly, professional, and attentive but not pushy, basically everything you want your server to be - there when you need her, giving you privacy when you don't. I had the Pomegranate Glazed Pork Chops which quite literally melted in my mouth, served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes that I had to fight my granddaughter for. Lol. My husband the born and raised Texan, had the Shrimp Grits which he declared "Just like Momma used to make!" My granddaughters had the firebreads-like pizza only better-and cleaned their plates. Check out the cookies, pastries, and cakes (Oh, my!). You will probably be too full to eat them there, but they make an amazing to-go snack for later in the evening. Decor has an understated but somewhat upscale vibe that far surpasses the bistro's rather unassuming outside persona. Our group of six was well taken care of by a friendly and efficient staff. We had signature flatbreads (somewhat salty) and fried chicken at our table, and I had the Low Country Shrimp and Grits. Grits were extremely creamy and the finish was somewhat mild, but flavorful. The Bistro has a good wine list and the iced tea I enjoyed was good in a "southern" way. We shared a large homemade cinnamon roll for dessert and it was excellent. Brunch is one of my favorite meals, but unfortunately this location didn't deliver for me. Chicken & Waffles: Because this traditional brunch item is so well known, I always expect some sort of flare when I try a new one. However, there was nothing unique or recognizable about this one. The chicken although moist, isn't very flavorful. This is a big no no, especially because the breading on the chicken doesn't stay on once you take your first bite. So you are left with separated breading and a bland piece of chicken. Lastly, the "hot honey" sauce. Just no! It's more like a sweet and sour marmalade, and would make more sense with eggrolls... Salmon Benedict: Another classic - All you taste is salmon...which you wouldn't think is a bad thing, but for $26 you would expect a Benedict to hit your mouth with a burst of flavor. Personally it just feels like a lot of prepurchased items thrown together on a plate, with no creativity. The saving grace of this place was our waitress. Also, I hope they do something about the seating, because the single chairs are dang uncomfortable. I have to admit my sons burger looked fantastic but I value my fingers so I avoided snagging a bite. He said he throughly enjoy it and I suspect that was spot on. It appeared juicy but not messy. I'd seriously have to consider that next time. Food envy is a real thing I did try some fries. They were ok but the dipping sauce was very nice. I don't like ketchup in general but this was not bottled stuff. My grilled cheese was also good. The bread was nicely grilled and had a good flavor. I usually doctor up a grilled cheese, jalapeño, pear , apple slices or tomatoes so I can be pretty picky. While I did prefer the tomato soup but that pretty typical and not a reflection ton the sandwich at all. What I really appreciated was the grilled cheese could stand up to being dipped into the tasty soup. The bread was grilled just right and not hard. My friends and I met here for brunch this past Sunday and we had made reservations so seating was quick and easy. Our server was considerate and attentive taking our orders. I am a vegansaurus, so, there were not many breakfast items I could enjoy outside of granola, fruit, or salad. It would have been nice to see more whole food plant-based items on the menu, however, my friends seem pleased with their traditional brunch options.
