Great food, excellent service during our lunch today! Staff was friendly and helpful in choosing our meals and let my girlfriends and I linger a long time. The chicken avocado was delicious and the tater tots couldn't be better! My friends had the habenero prawn pasta, which wasn't too hot, and the chicken strip and fries meal. All were good size portions and also delicious! For chairs they use office chairs which is unique, but I appreciated it as it's easier to move in. My only complaint, which is minor, is that some of the chairs are worn so they had some tears in the chair back. If you can look past that, then you should stop by as the food is worth it. read more

I gave Steve's Bar a great review over a year ago but I had a very bad experience there 6 mths ago. Bad gray baked potato. over done steak returned then almost raw and tough. My partner was unable to eat the steak. They didn't offer to do anything for the bad food. I gave them a 2 rating on Google . ONE for food and two 4s for service and atmosphere. I went there again this past week to give them another chance to improve my experience. I was with two girl friends. The bartender came over and told me that they wouldn't serve me because I gave them a ONE review. I was shocked and so were my friends. We all got up and left and will never go back there. So if you give Steve's a bad review, expect to be kicked out of the bar for that review. We will tell all our friends that Steve's is a mean place that can't take any critical comments about their food. And kick you out if you complain at all. read more

First time in for brunch and it was great! At 10:30am on a Saturday we had plenty of seating options to choose from. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance is laid back funky. Our order was delivered exactly as requested and in a timely manner, and the Benedict was very well done with a crispy English muffin, creamy hollandaise sauce, and perfectly poached eggs. With its tinted windows and unassuming facade, you would never guess that Steve's Bar & Grill serves delicious breakfast food. I was craving chicken fried steak and eggs and got exactly what I wanted when I went to Steve's Bar & Grill for lunch. The eggs, hashbrown, and chicken fried steak were all cooked well, but the star of the dish was definitely the country gravy. I was a big fan of whatever spice (paprika?) they sprinkled on top of it. I also got a bite of my girlfriend's lobster benedict which tasted great as well. The price for these two dishes were also very reasonable imo ($14.95 for the chicken fried steak and $17.95 on 10-21-23). If I ever get a craving for either of these dishes, I certainly will be back for brunch. read more

I like dive bars, so was glad that a dive bar was around the Bel-Red area, which isn't too far from where I live. You wouldn't even know this place was around unless you passed by it in its busy business strip. After a day of wine tasting, we decided to keep the party going with one last stop at Steve's Bar & Grill. We visited on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy, but not crowded. I loved the vibe here, as everyone, including the staff was so chill and laidback. It's a fun place, with dim lighting and lively music. Like every dive bar, they had a good list of local taps and then some, with a full bar and pub fare. It's a place where you can tell they have regulars and there's a reason for it. My friends and I shared the nachos and tots, which were A-OK. Nothing too special about the appetizers here. I did like that they had Bodhizafa on tap. The menu had a lot to offer, with standard bar food, but they also had nightly specials. Very small interior, but even so, they did a pretty okay spacing out people (ventilation/airflow wasn't really existent though if that bothers you) Overall though, this was a good little hangout - slightly dimmed lighting and a more calm ambiance than you would expect from a dive bar. Both were very tasty. Excellent tater tots. Clean bathrooms. We went around 11am on a Monday. Not too busy then. When we left about 45 minutes later-it was getting crowded. The cook brought our food out and I saw him help clearing plates. He always has a smile and seemed to really enjoy & take pride in his work. Well I stopped in here today when I saw this place as I was walking by. It is in a strip mall with an unassuming front. As soon as you open the door you walk into a comfortable, Old school pub. The bar is fully stocked and the beer is cold. I enjoyed a kolsh. I was not yet hungry for a for lunch but I wanted to try something. I end up getting a cup of their enchilada soup. This was so good! A hearty broth with veggies and pieces of chicken. Tortilla strips and avocado with cilantro topped it off. Very good. Their bartender/server was super attentive and helpful about the food. I brought my husband back in the evening because I saw they had a prime rib special. On Wednesdays! We walked in and found a seat right away. It was a different bartender but she came and was attentive immediately. We both got the prime rib dinner. It comes with a baked potato, loaded or not, and fresh broccoli spears. 2295$. We were very excited. My husband tried the soup to start because I recommended it. It was very good and he enjoyed it. When our prime rib came the first time it was completely well done and unappealing. We had ordered medium rare. The waitress took them back immediately and apologized. A short time later she came back with two more pieces that were medium rare. The prime rib had good flavor although it was a bit chewy. It came with creamy horseradish sauce which I like a lot! The say Jus was tasty and hot. And the potatoes were loaded with bacon cheese and sour cream with some chives. I husbands potato was nice and fluffy. Mine was a bit dark and overcooked. The broccoli was fresh crispy and tasty. Overall a nice meal. I may come again next time I'm in the area to try the prime rib again. Maybe we came a bit too late? It was 7:45 in the evening. Came here for dinner before a work party with a party of 10, depending on the day they take reservations but always call at least when you are on your way to let them know a big party is coming. They have SOUR BEERS! The food was really good. Reminded me of after school fries. I got a BBQ Burger and it was nice. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and crisp. I had to cut it in half to eat the burger. The burger came with a side of fries. My coworker got their classic cheeseburger and OMG it looked so beautiful! The cheese melted so nicely and he said that it tasted so good. It was pretty busy and our waitress was super attentive and sweet. The music was a good selection and the atmosphere was very chill. We were strangers to the locals who seemingly frequent the bar, and we didn't pack our Seahawks gear for that weekend, so we may have received a few questionable looks. :) We showed our support for the Hawks, though, and all was good. I wish I would have known about this bar pre-covid when I moved to Bellevue. The staff is so kind, the vibe is awesome, but... Holy shit guys, staff the place. As a former server I know the benefit of maxing tables, but when you've got one FOH person (every time I've been here) handling all the tables, you're ruining the customer experience. An hour for food. 15 minutes for a drink. It sucks, no matter how hard the staff is killing themselves. The food is fine. Drinks are great. Staff is mega friendly and accommodating, but "Steve" needs to get it together and hire another FOH person or come in here and support "him"self. Excellent choice for a happy hour meet up with friends! They offer a small happy hour discount on draughts and have a menu full of great food options. I ordered the stuffed artichoke - I wasn't sure if it was going to be artichoke hearts or an actual artichoke so I asked the server. She assured me it would be an actual artichoke - and I was super impressed when it came out! I don't think I've ever had this dish as a restaurant, let alone a dive bar & grill off the Bel-Red area! For a small bar this place packs quite a punch. The owner, Steve, is from the California area way back and they have some wonderful, family recipes for their Italian cooking. You will always get a great drink from the bartenders, as well. If you are fortunate enough to meet the owner, Steve, he'll remember you for the next visit or when he sees you out. I'm with so many - had a friend not brought me here I would never know that it was there. My knowledge of Bellevue is restricted mostly to downtown. This was very nice! It's not fancy or beautiful. The seating is old, the decor a bit cluttered, but it's comfortable. It's somewhere you just feel like you can instantly relax. Nothing pretentious and I immediately liked that. We were quickly greeted by a woman who seemed to be running pretty much the entire place. Throughout the visit she was attentive, very friendly, and joked with us. I instantly regretted eating lunch before going here because the menu was full of various comfort foods that I would have liked to try. Hopefully another time! The drinks were fantastic. Visiting this bar for the first time is like going to a wedding where everyone knows each other, except you. So it can be a bit overwhelming taking in all the camaraderie. However, this is not to say that the bartender does not pay attention to newcomers; the service is in fact prompt and nice. They make a good Old Fashioned, and the burger/tater tots combo is likely to satiate the biggest of appetites. Very impressed with this hole in the wall. Super friendly staff and bartender. Stopped in around 7 on a Friday night and it was hopping. Lot's of regulars. Excellent drink the bartender made me! She made me feel like I belonged which was very refreshing as other bars in Bellevue don't have this "inviting feel." We order a few snacks. The bruschetta and mozzarella cheese bread. EXTREMELY surprised by this place today. After a baseball game, my team tried to go to a place called Daman's Tavern in Bellevue but came to find it didn't open until 4PM. It was 2. Of course I went to my YELP app to find the next closest Pub/Bar type of place and Steve's was .5 miles away. 5 minutes later we show up to a strip mall where Steve's is literally a hole in the wall in between a nail salon and a vacant space for rent. Place is decorated with your grandma's furniture and there are consistently between 3 and 5 people smoking outside. In fact the bartender was walking out for a smoke when 6 of us walked in and she said darn it I better turn around. I am the bartender. I love this. If you are going to a dive bar, everything better scream dive including the bartender who catches a smoke out front every half hour or so. And she couldn't have had a better command of what was a full bar of regulars and us. Was extremely personable, competent, and simply great at her job. They did have high quality beers on tap including a Mac and Jacks which I ordered. Now I was hungry and the internal burning question for a foodie like me was "Do I order food in this place?" I decided to trust their 4 star rating on YELP and sure enough, they were right. All of us ordered food and everyone was satisfied including me who ordered a blackened chicken sandwich. The drink I eventually received was good but I wanted to order food. There were no menus in sight, no food on any tables, and was never asked if I wanted food. Love this place. It's a neighborhood bar, nothing fancy, but the food is really good at a good price. Way above average bar food. The whiskey sea food chowder is delicious when they have it. Their prime rib dip is the best around because the meat is left rare, tender, and juicy like it should be. The white sea food pizza is delicious. The cooks really know what they are doing here. The rest of the staff are a ton of fun and take good care of you. It turns out one of my friends has been coming here for twenty years or something so knows everybody. All the locals know each other.
