One of my favorite places to get sushi in Seattle! Glad they have a location here, the sushi was so fresh. The place is beautiful, the service is great, I highly recommend and would come back!

Crispy Calamari ($9 HH)
Courtney L.

I've found a new favorite in Redmond! Given Momiji's selection of specialty rolls and their wide happy hour menu, there's no doubt I'll be a repeat customer. Three of us came in on a Thursday at 4:30P. We had booked a reservation, but the restaurant was quiet at that time, so we probably would have been fine without it. The hostess pointed out the QR code for viewing the menu, but also asked if we'd like paper copies, which we opted for. It's way easier to read a physical menu and I appreciate that they had them available! Our waiter came by shortly after with complimentary edamame and filled our waters while we decided what to order. Note: Regarding the happy hour menu, our waiter confirmed that the hot food items from the "Kitchen" section are about 40% smaller compared to if we ordered them from the regular menu. The size of the rolls is not altered. + RTC ROLL ($22): Snow crab mix, avocado & cucumber topped w/ seared salmon, scallions, tobiko, sweet aioli, sweet chili & soy glaze. I love seared salmon, but between both the sweet chili and aioli, it was too sweet for my liking. This roll is on the saucier side whereas I wish the flavor of the seared salmon could have shined more. + MR. PERFECT ($22): Spicy tuna, cucumber, yamagobo & cilantro topped w/ 7-spice seared albacore, scallions & garlic ponzu. This one brought some serious heat! The tuna tasted super fresh, and I detected a mild bite from the cilantro which is generally a unique sushi ingredient. The scallions added a refreshing element as well. It was my favorite item of the night! + GRILLED GARLIC SHORT RIBS ($13 HH): Six kalbi short ribs were marinated in a garlic-soy sauce and topped with green onion. They were tender and had the perfect charred flavor. Any flavor of garlic was quite subtle and the sauce tasted to me like sweet soy, but it was delicious nonetheless. + CRISPY CALAMARI ($9 HH): The calamari was hot and crispy with a light batter. A dip in the green curry aioli added umami and a bit of tang. It also came with a small side of greens tossed in a sweet aioli. I could have eaten the whole thing myself! We also ordered a Spider Roll ($10 HH), California Roll ($9 HH) and Shrimp Tempura Roll ($9 HH). The California Roll actually contained real snow crab, not the imitation filling that I assumed. Across the board, all the rolls we ordered had a pretty thin layer of rice and generous amount of filling. They are worth the value. Service was exceptional. In addition to a warm welcome, we were checked on consistently. One waiter kept our waters topped off (I don't think they ever even reached half-empty!) and picked up our plates as we finished them. Our short ribs and calamari were served first as appetizers, so our main waiter offered us new plates before all of our sushi came out. Talk about perfect timing! I enjoyed the elevated casual ambience of the restaurant and the tables in the main dining area have adequate spacing between them, making it comfortable overall. The lighting was on the dimmer side, except for just a small lamp on the table. Can't wait for my next visit!

Stunning. Was staying in the area with a friend and we had heard of their other location so we were excited to see they had a spot in Redmond! Table for 2 around 7pm without a reservation was no issues. They give you a nice plate of edamame to start which was awesome!! No drinks for us that evening but obviously had to get some crispy tuna rice and these were massive!!! Super delicious. For the main we shared 3 rolls and had about half a roll leftover which was still delicious the next day. Stunning food!

Stopped by Momiji for a quick happy hour today and had a great experience. The space is inviting, with both a lively bar area and comfortable seating. The complimentary edamame was a nice touch to start. We ordered the Redmond Breeze and a beer, along with a veggie roll and veggie tempura. Everything came out super quickly and tasted fresh and delicious. The happy hour pricing is definitely a great deal, and parking was very convenient. It would be even better to see more vegetarian roll options on the happy hour menu, but overall, a solid spot for a quick and satisfying bite!

So glad Momiji has made a home on the eastside, making it easier for me to check out this spot since I rarely go to Seattle these days. It's a win for us, eastsiders. This location is specifically in downtown Redmond, right next to the 2 Line, making it accessible without a car. But there is plenty of street parking around and is walking distance to Redmond Town Center. We visited Momiji for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy. I love the vibe here, with a modern, sleek aesthetic in a new building, reminding me of its Capitol Hill location. It makes for a great date spot, with a separate, bright bar near the entrance and dim lighting in the dining area. My partner and I ordered the black cod miso entrée and the chirashi bowl. Everything was delicious, but the black cod miso plate was fantastic. The cod was perfectly cooked and I absolutely loved the chanterelle mushrooms that it came with in the miso sauce. Chirashi bowl was solid with thick cuts of raw fish. I would love to come back and explore more of the menu.

Sashimi omakase ($60)
Ellen C.

Thanks to the Yelp reviews, I parked at the parking lot that was attached to the restaurant. It's two hour validation at the front desk where you input your car license plate so don't forget to take a picture. I made reservations on open table on a weekday, same day. Restaurant was kind of empty but good vibes. My friend and I both got the $60 omakase. I got the sushi whereas she ordered sashimi. Food came out pretty quick. Good presentation, good sushi. Edamame was given as a free appetizer which was nice. Service was attentive, though too attentive in filling our waters. I probably take one sip and then my water is filled. It was a bit distracting even though I'm sure they did their best in being invisible, but I can see them coming. I would recommend not so many times to come around filling our water. After dinner, stop by salt and straw and they offer the same two hour validation at the parking structure. Can stay for awhile and browse the area.

Came for Happy hour 4-6pm with 5 adults and 1 toddler and was very happy with the price to food ratio! Best deals are Agedashi Tofu and Soba Salad Momiji is such a classic Seattle Japanese restaurant. It's been around forever. I am very happy it's now on the Eastside! Parking is complementary (maybe for 2 hours?) after signing into tablet at counter The calamari I wished was more fried (less soggy) but the portions were good.

Shrimp Tempura Udon

I was excited to see Momiji in Redmond pop up on Redmond Way. The atmosphere is genuinely lovely, modern, warm, and inviting. The restaurant is divided into two sections, a lively bar area and the main dining space. The bar itself looks great and is well stocked, and they offer a nice happy hour, which is always appreciated. A couple of things stood out immediately though. The flooring in the bar section was exceptionally slippery with the shoes I was wearing, a very popular brand, nothing unusual. I have had a severe ankle injury before, and I was honestly nervous walking across the floor. While staff might be accustomed to wearing shoes with more grip, customers will not necessarily know this ahead of time. It is something I would really encourage the owner to take a look at. For food, I was in the mood for tempura udon. The presentation was beautiful, and the tempura came with a few vegetables and two shrimp, which were nicely fried. However, I found the broth disappointing. It was not dashi forward and had a lot going on, including spinach, bok choy, and other greens that felt a bit unnecessary for this dish. After living in Japan, I have come to appreciate a clean, well balanced dashi broth that complements the tempura without overpowering it. The greens introduced that slightly astringent feeling spinach can leave on your teeth, which took away from the overall flavor. I also could not really detect much dashi, and I am not sure if soy was used, but the broth did not land for me. It may simply be their style, but it did not feel traditional, and I probably would not order it again. I also tried a salad that was described as having a ginger dressing, but the ginger flavor was very faint. Overall, I really want to love this place. The vibe is great, and there is a lot of potential. I will definitely come back to try other menu items, but I hope the udon broth and the slippery flooring are things the restaurant considers refining. The service was great and the ambiance felt nice and warm. I would definitely return, but not to order the udon.

A Momiji in my neck of the woods??? Oooohhhhh I'm here for it! My wife and I took in a late night date here. And I gotta tell you, it did not disappoint. We got all of the recommendations from the yelp profile. We were absolutely happy with everything we got. From the sashimi to the ribs and rolls, drink. It was fire. Will definitely be coming back!

I'm SO incredibly happy they're finally on the east side and secretly relieved they chose Redmond over Bellevue. If you're wondering what to order, just look at the rave reviews from their Seattle locations. The food is fantastic! My favorites are the tempura platter and the King Ghidorah roll. It's become our go-to spot since they've opened this location. The food is fresh and flavorful and they usually have something seasonal or new to try too, the ambiance is nice, the staff are friendly, parking is easy. So good! *disclaimer: photo is from the Capitol Hill location.

Happy Hour Sashimi Set ($14)
Katrina M.

Lovely addition to the Redmond area, and located right near the Redmond light rail station. Great happy hour with quality food, reasonable prices, and great service -- that's a trifecta win in my book. When one of our dishes took a little longer to bring out, the server brought us two miso soups in the meantime, which was a really nice touch. Sashimi was fresh, and the drinks were very good as well. This one is going on our regular list!

Spicy Sushi Roll (Don't recommend)
Kumar V.

The first thing that strikes you is that place is somewhat upscale. The ambience is great - very few other places in Redmond downtown will have such an amazing vibe. The places is located at the heart of Redmond downtown. If you have access to light rail, I would recommend just coming by light rail. That's the easiest. It is on the side of downtown Redmond station. Otherwise finding parking is not bad. But the best thing to know will be that you have parking acces for Momoji - you just need to specify your license number at the reception and you can pretty much park in the building. I tried Spicy Tuna Sushil Roll. It was average. I was not impressed. It was like it was taken out of a fridge and served cold. On the other hand Yakisoba Noodles were amazing. Such a great blend of flavours. The chicken pieces had amazing sauce cover. And some of the things in the noodles went super well - such as red garlic strips. The only feedback will be to not include items on their menu that they don't care about making fresh. The roll was a disappoint - even more so because it was like cold cold - not even at room temperature. I am sure there are othe sushi rolls on their menu which would be better. Otherwise both service and ambience were excellent.

Mixed rainbow tower with brown avocado
April S.

We were able to walk in and sit easily at 5:45 on a weekday. The good: Yakisoba, tempura veggie medley of options, yellowtail sushi The bad: Sushi roll, rainbow tower The meh: out of menu item before 6pm Lots of servers constantly on the move and making sure water is filled, but our table server didn't come around after dropping food until it was time for the check. We haven't been here before and it seems very sushi forward with tons of fried and spicy options. I enjoyed the flavor of my yellowtail sushi fish. The salmon avocado roll was disappointing all around--nothing had any flavor to it and the dry nori made it inedible. I found the creamy hotate to just taste like mayo. The sushi rice has no flavor at all, and between the roll and the sushi bite, the seaweed was tough and dry and what was left to chew for any bite. The sushi tower was not well cut with partially minced pieces thrown together with brown spotted and fresh avocado. My honey loved his chicken yakisoba, no notes. He loved the gingery-soy sauce and the tender fried chicken pieces and combo of veggies. I enjoyed the mixture of tempura veggies (shishito, okra!, sweet potato, zucchini, squash, red bell pep) and would ask for a no-shrimp option in the future, as the shrimp didn't have any flavor to me. The sauce was also very light tasting. The vibe was like eating on a loud set design for a life size doll house--very different interior combination. We would come back for the chicken yakisoba and tempura, def not for sushi.

The expectation was set for us that we would get a better experience going to the bar whenever we want another drink/add more food to our tabs. I love that they were honest about this from the get-go because it gets CRAZY crowded on a Saturday night and our tables were adjacent to the dance floor. Excellent people-watching entertainment.
