The best happy hour on the east side!! There is also a validated parking lot. Pork Quesadilla - the pineapple adds such a great sweetness and the pork is so flavorful! The cheese pull is too good. Chorizo Nachos - these are HUGE for $10 happy hour deal. Loaded with guac, cheese, beans, meat, and sour cream, what more could you ask for?! I tried pork on here, but it seemed to dry out, so chorizo is the way to go. It is a bit salty, so drink water! Also, if you sign up for rewards, your first nachos are free‍ Jalepeño poppers - they were ok, I wouldn't get it again. But for $6-7, what a steal! read more

Had a great experience last time and came back today, and ended up with disappointment. - habanero prawn was extremely spicy to the level that it's overpowering and not enjoyable anymore, unlike last time when it tasted like a spicy tomato soup with more balance - Baja taco fish: the fish was extremely overcooked and the crust was no longer crispy. It was served not hot but cold hard and stale - al pastor taco: the pork was hard and chewy, and extremely dried out What a big miss. Why was everything out of balance/dried out/over cooked (which was even visible)? This restaurant lacks consistency and quality check. I gave it five stars the first time, and now giving it one star for the quality of food served today read more

I've only recently started spending more time in the Redmond area for work, and Matador has quickly become one of my favorite spots to unwind after a long day. Most of the time I'm dining solo, and this place just has a great vibe. The music is always on point, the artwork and decor throughout the restaurant are awesome, and it's one of those places where you can relax, enjoy a good meal, and feel comfortable whether you're by yourself or with a group. Daniel (I believe that was his name) was outstanding. He made sure I was taken care of the entire time, stayed on top of drinks, and checked in just enough without ever being overbearing. Great service like that doesn't go unnoticed. As for the food, I always order the Carne Asada (steak) Burrito and have them add guacamole inside. It's become my go-to and has never disappointed. Great food, great atmosphere, great people. Matador has become a regular stop for me whenever I'm in town, and I look forward to coming back every chance I get. read more

I love coming here for late-night happy hour! The food is always delicious, and they have such a great selection of food and drinks on their happy hour menu. It's definitely a fun spot to come with friends, especially if you're looking for good food and drinks without spending too much! It is 21+ after a certain time read more

Great food here, but service is always a crap shoot! I think it's bc I get seated in areas where my servers seat their friends or regulars ~ idk! While I enjoy their Tex Mex, I also REALLY enjoy their Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger! (I know, I know!) I always order a margarita with it though! Ha! read more

We love this place. The food is consistently good and their specials are incredible. I always love their Summer menu and their street corn. We've had a lot on their menu and it's all been great. Take a look at our pics to get an idea of some of the items we've had. Looking for a place to gofor Happy Hour? They got you covered and they have a pretty good menu and drink selection. If it's sunny, head out back to their covered patio for a nice outdoor meal. read more

Came for a "post long-run" meal on a Sunday, must have arrived after the lunch crowd because the place was almost empty, and whenever I pass by here otherwise there's almost always folks waiting outside. ‍ Opted for bar seating, chatted with the bartender about the menu and settled for the grilled fish tacos. Didn't check the actual menu item, so I was quite surprised when they arrived with rice and beans. Ah well, I needed the calories and carbs for sure. Place was almost eerily quiet due to so few patrons, and most were either on their phones or reading a book, so not sure how the ambience is on a regular day. Food was ok, but there are better tacos around Redmond if that's what you're after. Ok place, decent prices, good service. read more

Great spot! One of the few spots that are open till late at night and quite packed at that. The drinks are great, highly recommend the cucumber jalapeno margarita and pineapple habanero margarita. They have a lot of vegan options and beyond meat substitute options. The street tacos and vegetarian matador bowl with habanero sauce are a must try. They have complimentary chips and salsa and happy hour from 10pm to close which is awesome for a group hangout. read more

The Matador in Redmond is one of my favorite locations. The space is bigger than the Ballard one, so it feels a lot more comfortable when it gets busy. It's a great spot for dinner with friends, group outings, or even just sitting at the bar for drinks. The atmosphere is always fun and lively without feeling too crowded. The food here is always really good, and the portion sizes are great. I almost always end up taking leftovers home, and a lot of the dishes are perfect for sharing. Their happy hour menu is also one of my favorites. Good prices, good portions, and it's nice whether you're going with a group or just stopping in for something small. They also have a really good bar with lots of drink options, and the margaritas are always solid. Service has been consistently good every time I've gone, and everything usually comes out quickly even when it's busy. Overall, a really reliable spot in Redmond for good food, drinks, and a fun atmosphere. read more

Matador pleasantly surprised me! The place has a really cool vibe with a serene, relaxed ambience, and the service was excellent. Our server Andrew was awesome and took great care of us. The drinks were on point -- I ordered a top-shelf margarita and it was perfect. For food, I had the chop salad with chicken and it was amazing. We also ordered the Matador bowl, which was really flavorful and delicious. I asked for a spicy salsa on the side and they brought out this smoky, spicy salsa that was absolutely incredible. Overall, great food, great drinks, great service. Definitely coming back! read more

Favorite Mexican food date night place! They can be pricey but the entrees are super big and great for sharing with a few apps. Personally, I come here more for the happy hour deals. Beautiful restaurant with slightly pricey but tasty Mexican food great for a not-super-casual meal. We ordered braised carnitas, enchiladas, and a matador bowl which all were crowd pleasers. They were bigger portion sizes well. read more

Foods always solid for a late night bite. Service is great, we're usually in the bar and they're on top of their service. It's a busy bustling restaurant so it's usually louder and busy but not bad enough to not have a conversation. I don't think it could be beat for food later into the night. read more

Matador Redmond - Brussels sprouts! - Mexican Near Me - Redmond, Washington

=== Overall === A decent spot to watch the game and eat chips and salsa and a couple tacos in downtown Redmond. Maybe skip drinks. === Food === Street tacos: Good, and the chicken was surprisingly flavorful. The limes they gave to squeeze didn't have any juice in them though :( Lots of onions on them. Margarita: This was my first time ordering a Margarita but I thought they were traditionally served in special glasses and had a salt rim. I ordered a passion fruit margarita and was charged for one as well, but the drink I got didn't taste anything like one nor look like one, no salt rim or passion fruit flavor- tasted like strawberry. Drank like 3 sips and paid for it anyway because our server wasn't around much at all. Burrito: Decent, but very large and a little hard to eat. Chips and salsa: Probably my favorite thing here lol, good flavor. === Service === Service was okay, but they didn't come around much. Didn't check up on us and we had to flag a different server to ring us up after we sat around for a long time. === Ambiance === Pretty nice inside and that's what made us want to try. A lot of people watching the sports games on the TVs inside which was fun. read more

Went in on a late night, it's open till 1am. Late night happy hour ( on food) score. Ordered black berry margaritas and house margaritas. Chips and salsa yummy. Ordered guacamole and salsas and impossible street tacos. Everything is so delicious and service was good. Btw we ordered the second order of impossible street tacos. Love the decor and fire pit in the middle, felt so comfy on a cool night. Enjoy the food, drinks and ambiance. read more

Five of us went for happy hour. Drinks - Habenero Pineapple Margarita, Cadillac Margarita, Strawberry Mango Margarita, and a rum and coke. The food was street tacos - pork, Grande Nachos with Beef, Chicken Quesadillas, Crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Haba Shrimp. The food was good but not spectacular. The biggest hit was the Sprouts. Smoky and crispy with good flavor. Everything else was cooked well just not inspired. Excellent service. Table of five arriving at 4:30. Got seated in five minutes. Upon leaving there was a more significant wait. read more

Food Matador offers consistently high-quality dishes with bold flavors. The beef fajitas were exceptionally well-prepared, tender, and flavorful, though slightly heavy on the oil. The beef tacos were outstanding, featuring a well-balanced combination of soft brisket and perfectly crisp fried onions. The variety of accompaniments--salsas, guacamole, and pickled toppings--added both customization and depth to the overall dining experience. Even as a takeout order for a large group of 10-15 people, the food maintained its flavor and quality despite losing some heat during delivery. Service This visit was for takeout, so service cannot be fully evaluated. However, in previous dine-in experiences, the staff at Matador have been consistently attentive, professional, and welcoming, enhancing the overall dining experience. Atmosphere The restaurant's atmosphere is one of its strong suits. With its warm, inviting design and vibrant yet comfortable energy, Matador is well-suited for a range of occasions--whether a small corporate gathering, a group of friends, or a casual night out. Value Pricing is on the higher side compared to standard Tex-Mex restaurants, but the quality of the food, the thoughtful preparation, and the ambiance make it a worthwhile choice for special gatherings or when the experience itself is a priority. Overall Matador delivers a consistently strong dining experience, marked by flavorful dishes, a welcoming atmosphere, and reliable service. It remains a worthwhile destination for both casual and special occasions. read more

Great spot to have drinks with friends! The interiors are great, the noise level is quite high. The food was good, I enjoyed the Ribeye Tacos I ordered. The Dip Flight was ok. The service could be improved though. It took 30 mins before our server took our orders. I requested for a soda refill and that took about 20 minutes. read more

We decided to try this place, and it was a great choice! They have outdoor seating, but it's only available until sunset. We started with a watermelon drink , it was refreshing and really good. They also served complimentary nachos, which was a nice touch. For appetizers, we couldn't decide between the shrimp options, so we asked the staff for a recommendation. Since we wanted something spicy, they suggested the Haba Prawns, and they didn't disappoint! For the main course, we had the Enchiladas Divorciadas and the Habanero Enchiladas. Both were tasty, but I personally liked the Habanero ones more. Overall, the food was flavorful, and the menu had a lot of interesting options. And the ambiance is kind of dark. read more

Great happy hour deals with friendly staff! The bar fills up quickly so make sure to arrive a bit early

Owner I hope you read this review Tonight Tuesday went to Redmond with a friend. I had the steak with the rice beans corn - I could not chew it - it was so gummy - but brussels sprouts were out of this world we had two orders. I don't know why this place received bad reviews from others but I like this place. The parking lot is small and the service is kind of slow but that is because this place serves a lot of food for a cheap price. I was able to get a gigantic order of nachos for $7. It was loaded with protein and toppings. I didn't even finish half of it. The Cadillac margarita was pretty good as well. read more

The food is amazing! One of my favorite spots in downtown Redmond, it can be a bit expensive but the ambiance is quite nice too

I've never been treated so rudely in a restaurant I brought the family in so we could all have dinner and we asked her if it was happy hour, I figured we could get some appetizers before we order dinner. and she threw the menus on the table and walked off and didn't say nothing if you don't want people to come here for happy hour. You shouldn't offer it. ! We all left read more

A downtown Redmond classic! The interior is mood and classy, and the service is always prompt and polite. Great for a special occasion dinner, but my favorite way to go is their happy hour. If you go during happy hour, the bang for your buck is unmatched. One order of nachos (with extra chorizo, thank you very much!) is the perfect amount of food for a few girlfriends, if you add one or two other small bites. Trust me, the nachos are massive, and they're the best restaurant nachos I've ever had. Their tacos are also pretty good -- you can order different meat in each if you get a set, if you want to taste test. Would recommend for a happy hour hangout with friends! read more

Great location near everything in Redmond and the best part about it is that they have a parking lot, and a decent sized one at that. It's a cool space inside, lots of booths, which I love. There is more seating in the back so pretty spacious. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good but I felt like you don't get much meat on the taco salad. It was tasty, though. read more

Jackie was an amazing server! She gave amazing recommendations and made our experience so much fun. Would definitely come back again.

I've only ever been to Matador for their Happy Hour, and it's my go-to place if I need a big meal late at night with friends. The prices for the HH menu items are *such* good value - the quesadilla is large and definitely enough for a meal, and the nachos (also less than $10) are honestly enough for 2. I also like their brussels sprouts and tacos, though I get them less frequently. The main downside for the food I have is that it's a bit oily, so be aware of that. read more

The food here is just alright but nothing special. It gives off more of an upscale vibe than your typical Mexican restaurant and they have a large selection of tequilas so if that's your thing you may enjoy it. There are much better Mexican options around the area though iny opinion. read more

This place is pretty good, but it's not my favorite Mexican or tex mex restaurant. The service is great and they make great cocktails, specifically mezcal margaritas. My gf and I enjoy their happy hour. They have a good HH menu. My go-to order is typically the carne asada or the enchiladas. Their nachos are super popular and the portions are huge. Not even two people can get through the entire nacho tower. I also prefer to eat the food here and not get to-go. It's just not the same. read more

Love this place for late night happy hour, they're open until midnight on Fridays and have a great happy hour menu that starts early with cheap eats around $6-7. Compared to RBG down the street that starts HH at 11PM. However, it is very difficult to accommodate any groups over four people. I will say seating is very limited and they often have a long waitlist so you have to go early, give them your phone number and they text you when the table is ready. We haven't been able to successfully accommodate a party larger than six people at a single table and often have to break the party into 3-4 tables or wait 30 to 40 minutes. Sometimes we have to wait 30 minutes for a table for four! They have a small parking lot right behind the restaurant that we often get parking at or could park on street or one of the other empty lots. That being said, compared to all the other late night happy hour options, matador definitely has the best bang for your buck and quality of food. We always get some variation of their $7 grande nachos with added meat on top for an additional $3.50. The portion sizes are massive and 3 to 4 people could easily share if not that hungry otherwise two people could easily just get full on sharing one plate. read more

I've always been a fan of the Matador chain and their giant happy hour pile of nachos, complimentary chips and salsa, and stylish interiors. For some reason the reviews are always mixed. We came for happy hour on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Baja Fish Tacos ($7 for HH) were delicious, as were the Steak Tacos ($7 for HH). My BF did comment the main menu seemed to be on the high end price-wise (his go to are fajitas and they are $30 something dollars here). Staff were polite and attentive. read more

The Matador is always consistent with what you can expect with their food, and service. We came in after a long day at the office, about 30 minutes prior to close. We grabbed a few seats at a high top table by the bar and were quick to order our drinks as we were being mindful of the time. We were brought chips and salsa, and drink orders were taken promptly as well. Our server was a little cold at first but, after a bit of conversation she warmed up and was a pleasure. She also probably just wanted to be done with her night and go home (and there were still a couple of table with folks eating full meals which was probably a bit annoying) Ambiance was just what we needed, a quick couple of drinks, their amazing chips and salsa (always consistent, never fails) If you work in the Redmond area, I don't need to convince you to come to the Matador because, let's be honest, you're already a regular lol read more
