I dig a good dive bar, which Daman's Bar and Grill is. I've passed by Daman's countless times and always wondered what's up with this corner spot in an outdated business strip in the Bel-Red area. Yet my curiosity finally caught up with me when my friend and I decided to check it out on a Saturday late afternoon. It was what you'd expect from a dive bar, which is not a bad thing. We came here for happy hour, when appetizers and well drinks are discounted. My friend and I shared nachos with our drinks, which didn't take long to get. Nachos were A-OK. The portion was huge, so was great for sharing, but they weren't amazing or anything like that. It's probably something I wouldn't order again since the chips were kind of stale, ground meat was overcooked and not as cheesy as I like my nachos. My friend really enjoyed them though. The drinks were where it's at and most likely why you're coming here. Our bartender was awesome. She was super chill, no-bullshit kind of deal, and made the drinks with heavy pours of booze and will customize to your liking. I like spicy bloody marys, which this one had a hint of. Plus, bloody marys on weekends are discounted, so why not? Daman's was a chill spot with music that you can play from a touchscreen that you can select and pay on. Bartender was cool AF and the crowd was friendly. You can tell there are regulars here, which is always a must for any dive bar, in addition to the pool tables. If you're liking for more of a dive bar, this will fit the bill when it comes to the environment (older furniture, pool tables, small TV's above the bar, stuff like that). I was so excited for go to my boyfriend's most frequented spot for lunch when he was still working in the office pre-covid. And wow I LOVE IT. We came before Halloween and I loved how they decorated the tables not being used instead of just having them blank or with ugly tape! So cute and festive! Also can we talk about my wine pour?! Can all wine pours be like this? And he always raves about the food and it definitely lives up to the hype and the pickles he always talks about!! SO YUM!! Just look at the pic! Would not recommend the tacos. The carne asada tastes and looks just like roast beef, I think they just use the extra roast beef from sandwiches. The tacos are kind of like street tacos but made with flour tortillas which is weird. Guac was actually pretty good but chips were awful. Clearly out of a bag and stale. I came to town for work, and saw this place going to Panda Express to get food. So I figured I would check it out. The first night was perfect. The whiskey burger was, and the service was ok. So the next day I figured I would go back. Got to playing pool, and the guy I was playing pool against made a comment. When I asked him what he said he stuck the cue stick into my throat. After defending myself the bartender Mia kicked me out and allowed him to stay even after I told her what actually happened! This is bullshit that I get kicked out and he is allowed to stay when I was the one defending myself! Update for this review. I think I am going to look into legal counsel for this incident. My throat is hurting due to having a cue stick stuck into my throat. After being a victim of an attack, being accused of being the attacker, kicked out due to accusations, and then being acted like I was the attacker. I feel almost personally offended that Daman's rating is as low as it is. My husband & I live in the area and this is our local spot we absolutely love. The space is actually much bigger & cozier than you'd expect from looking at the outside, and is well-appointed with bar games. The service has always been friendly and attentive, whether it be happy hour, dinner time, or late into the evening. The food is bussin, like better than most restaurants in the area, with generous portions too. We've had fun with karaoke on Saturday nights too. Not sure if its an off day, but I came here with a fairly large party and the food was without a doubt, Jurassic portions. I'm talking about, each entree could feed two no problem. This places portion size is gargantuan but the quality is really low. The service I had during lunch was also really slow. They only had one waiter for the entire plcae. There were about 15 tables with only one person taking care of all of them. I don't the waiter stopped even once from running around. I felt really bad for her. This is an example of a business that take care of the business not their customers. You get a table, servers are around. You make eye contact with one, bad luck, she has other tables assigned. I see another server, she sees me but avoids eye contact. Probably she's busy. Time goes by, the first server sees me again, no care, help other customers that just arrived. My potential server looks busy carrying just one empty glass from the patio. Those customers that arrive later already have beer and nachos on the table. I do have nothing, not even a "your server will help you soon, she's busy now". I left. After 10 years going every Friday I probably will give them another chance but many places to go around. read more

I have been going to this place for many years, as a former MSFT employee and then traveling up here in MSFT supporting roles I found this place probably 10 years ago. Overall this is a fantastic place to eat. I love their Cobb Salad, always a huge winner with warm and tender chicken and their house made Blue Cheese. The burgers are great, i was in town today and still on my darn low carb diet and having a salad for lunch I had to have a burger. So I got it sans bun (wrapped in lettuce) and with side salad. My friends and I came for the Hawks' game last night and I wouldn't object to going back. Service was alright but we did have to track our server down a few times. Considering the fact that she was the only one on the floor, I didn't mind too much. I ordered the California burger while my boyfriend ordered the Caesar wrap. The burger was good -- had a really tender beef patty -- although it was slightly on the salty side. The wrap had some good flavor too, but only had a few pieces of chicken (breaded, even though we ordered grilled) and five onion rings on the side. The beer was a bit expensive. We ordered two pitchers, one Blue Moon and the other Mac and Jack's, each coming out to over $15. I don't remember the last time I spent so much on a pitcher of beer. Other than that, Daman's created a nice atmosphere for the football game. All the customers, as well as the employees, were in their Hawks' best (jerseys, t-shirts, hats, etc.) and we all cheered together (annoying the ONE Niner's fan sitting at the bar). The idea of the house made sauerkraut (I think that's what it was) attracted me, but they put so much on there that it covers up the taste of the corned beef. Or the corned beef was just bland... I hate this place! I took the wife there last week to de-stress. After we sat down, we noticed a man was passed out on the floor by the bar. Apparently, he had fallen off the barstool and hit his head. About 5 people had gathered around him, checking his pulse and his breathing. I thought I saw blood so I walked towards him to get a better look and the bartender started screaming at me: "Don't hoover! Stand back!" She was a complete fool. So I called 911. Who knows how long he had been lying there. The paramedics came quick, followed by an ambulance, which whisked him away to the hospital. We have a winner! Worst karaoke in Seattle! We're here looking for a Sat night karaoke spot since Getaway quit doing karaoke. This place has every song, songs I love and have never ever seen karaoke tracks for. Sadly, I willl not get a chance to destroy them. Why? I have no idea! The KJ is taking breaks between songs to use his phone, play entire videos on the monitors, playing entire songs between singers...oh, hey! This drunk guy was up 4 singers ago and hopped up to sing the "in between" song...now he's "singing" the next song too! So the rotation is taking forever. No one thinks this is fun. It's sad because this crowd is much less scary than Palmer's, these guys are cool! I could totally come here alone... if I wasn't going to be wasting my time. We got here at 10. Its now 12:30 and I just got up. There is, at best, a 10 person rotation. Pop quiz: 4 (minutes a song) * 10 = ...????? Oh, hey! As I am writing this we suddenly went directly to the next singer without delay. I had to see why...and its the KJ singing. Of course it is!! Dude? Some of us tip. That's all I'm saying. Otherwise we actually had service which is a huge improvement over other places, so no deduction on that. The salad was terrific, in fact the food here is always great.
