We were in Factoria and had dinner at Tapatio Mexican. We hadn't eaten here in a few years and enjoyed our dinner. We got Quesadilla Mexicana with Chicken, and Enchiladas Guadalajara with Chicken. The Quesadilla Mexicana was good. We were recommended the Enchiladas Guadalajara and it lived up to expectations. I loved the sauces that came with it. read more

This is a spot my boyfriend loves from his childhood, so we go here every so often! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has really cool vibes, lots of art and color, a really cool spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is awesome. Super kind and helpful and we usually get very fast service. I am gluten free and they are pretty good at helping me navigate the menu with my allergy. I generally get one of their garlic shrimp dishes, which is always so good, whether I get takeout or dine in. I will say, the portions are MASSIVE and hard to finish. Lots of cheese and other fats. So it is delicious, but I might not recommend this spot to anyone on a diet. The chips are delicious and fresh and the margaritas are huge. If you are looking for a classic Mexican food dinner, this is a great spot to try out and enjoy some grub. read more

Good restaurant for large portions at a cheap price! I got the 2 item combination, which was only 12.25 and was quite filling, especially because it came with rice and beans. The actual items in the combination are pretty minimal - many of the items were essentially tortilla around meat, with all the accoutrements on the outside (lettuce / tomato). We've been coming to Tapatio for years now and the food is always consistently good. They have happy hour until 6:30 which includes food and drinks and is one of the best places for happy hour in the area. The service is always polite and they give you free chips and salsa, which is a nice touch. The prices are very reasonable for the area and my kids really like the deep fried ice cream. The decor is also vibrant with different scenes on the chairs some of which have a Seahawks theme which is fun. They also have a few TVs in the back and a full bar. I came here after driving up from Portland in the morning, and was FAMISHED! I was supposed to meet up with someone, but they needed more time before I could show up, so I wanted somewhere kinda quiet where I could get a bite to eat, and relax for a bit before leaving. I found exactly that at Tapatio Mexican Restaurant. I ordered a plate of tacos, and found a nice cozy corner to chow down. The tacos were pretty solid, middle of the road. The server brought me some of their house sauce to add on top, which definitely kicked it up a notch (and was appreciated!). I chowed down pretty quick, and then proceeded to hang out for about 20-30 minutes while I finished up my drink. Nobody rushed me, or gave me any looks. They weren't busy, and since I wasn't taking up any needed space, they didn't seem to care that I was just sitting there killing time. A blessing for me, cuz it was hot outside! I'd definitely come here again the next time I'm in town. I sometimes stay in a hotel nearby, so when I do, I'll be back! There's plenty more on the menu I want to try! read more

We enjoyed our take out meal. The spinach enchiladas and enchiladas Guadalajara were both tasty and full of flavor. Having the chips and salsa included was an added bonus. The salsa was muy picante, as a word of warning. On the down side, I was disappointed they included plastic forks and paper napkins, which I didn't ask for. There's been a law in Washington this year that restaurants can only include single use disposable service items if the customer requests them. First timer at Tapatio in Factoria. Not to be confused with Tapatio a few miles down on coal creek (also a good choice.) At first glance I thought they were a chain but upon looking their websites up, can confirm they are 2 different restaurants. I ordered the 2 item combo plate, with chile relleno and a chicken chimichanga. It came with rice and beans, chips and salsa. For $17 it's a bang for your buck, good food and healthy portions. I will definitely look to order from them again in the future to try more of their menu items. They provided very fast service and the staff was super friendly and chatted with us. Food tasted as you'd expect from any good Mexican restaurant. Our go to Mexican restaurant. Good food and good service. Their chips and salsa are the best! If you can't stand spicy, make sure you ask for mild salsa. The one they usually serve is on the spicier side. I always order the Carne Asada dinner plate with black beans. The meat is very tasty. Can't go wrong with this dish. Another usual with our group is the Asada burrito. It's like having the Carne Asada dinner plate in a burrito. But instead of refried beans, it comes with whole pinto beans. Cadillac margarita and sangria are the drinks we usually order. Both are good. The sangria is on the sweeter side. read more

My friend and I came here for quick drinks and a light meal last week. We used to come here with our high school friends a few years back. We were promptly seated at a booth right as we walked in the door around 7pm. It's been a while, but they still have the same cool lanterns and colorful wall and table decor. It really gives it a homey/ casa vibe. We both ordered the house margarita ($7) and then shared two salads: the grilled chicken salad and the fajita chicken salad. The margarita was very tasty and not too tangy. You could also upgrade it to a monster size for an additional $3, but we had other plans for after dinner and were happy with the regular sized margaritas. Of the two salads, we enjoyed the grilled chicken salad slightly more. The fajita chicken was good, but it wasn't grilled (i think it was sautéed or baked in a light tomato sauce). Our bill came out to about $45 total , which was very reasonable considering that we got drinks as well. Forgot was cinco de mayo & stopped by to eat at 5:30. It was a full house but we were able to get a table quickly. It was pretty loud in there with music & people talking so loud. They serve complimentary salsa & chips. We ordered 2 tacos de asada (beef) with side of beans & rice. Mole chicken enchiladas. Piña colada & horchata. For dessert flan. Over all it was okay. Horchata lacked flavor. 1/5 Piña colada was not overly sweet. 3/5 it was more on the watery side though. Mole enchiladas lacked flavor as well & tortilla was way to soggy it fell apart. 2/5 Tacos had flavor except they added tomatoes! Not authentic. 3/5 Flan was delicious. It was creamy & had an alcohol taste 4/5. Beans & rice were whatever. As a mexican nothing beats mexican home cooked meals. But this place is ok. If youre in the area check it out.
