Lounge menu and kallpod
Karlo G.

Friendly service, comfortable ambience, strong drinks. I stopped by for a couple drinks and was pleasantly impressed with the overall experience. The bartender was prompt and immediately took our drinks. My Grey Goose cosmo was perfectly made and generously poured. I especially liked the coupe glasses and presentation. My second drink, Grey Goose and 7up was equally refreshing and strong. This lounge does have a simple menu and features happy hour between 4:30PM-6:30PM. Seating areas were comfortable and the modern fireplace adds a bit of coziness to the space. Each table has a kallpod which calls the bartender/server to the table. Overall, this is simple yet excellent place to stop for drinks. I'm looking forward to trying out their food on our next visit.

I came here during their happy hour (4-6:30pm daily). My first drink was the smoked Manhattan ($10) which was really good. They put the drink in a little smoke chamber to provide the smokey flavor which is cool. It was smokey but a bit sweet as well. My second drink was a smoked old fashioned ($16) which is not on their happy hour menu but it was smokey as well and even stronger than the Manhattan. The bar is right next to the front desk of the AC Hotel in an open space. As I was sitting there I kept thinking, "I feel like I'm in a James Bond movie right now." Too bad they don't have any martinis on the menu. They don't have many cocktails on their menu but the bartender can make you any drink that you like as he did with the old fashioned.

I'm usually not this eager to write a review, but after what I just witnessed, these guys deserve five stars, and then some. It's important to note I was just observing the events as they unfolded. I had booked a stay at AC Hotel Bellevue through Booking.com, since all the hotels in Seattle were either sold out or exorbitant prices. I'm just another guest in the hotel, and had a late evening. At 10:57PM, I'd gone down to the Lounge to try and see if I could get a meal to go. Within 30 seconds, I was acknowledged, asked if I was interested in last call, and asked about ordering a small plate off the menu. The bar tenders/servers were busy managing five different parties, including myself, and doing their utmost to clean up for the night. My order was placed right at 11PM, but they'd managed to get both my drink and my meal out to me in a timely fashion. While waiting, I'd watched the following: Towards the opposite end of the bar, there were two parties with two pairs: two guys, and two girls. One of the guys was about as drunk as one of the girls. The two had been chatting loudly and were cussing each other out, in a way that had the potential to get escalated, if left unchecked. The servers had been managing getting everyone's drinks, and watching over the two clearly intoxicated individuals. In the process, it seems that one of the receipts from a third party - a man, his sister, and another friend - had gotten switched with the tipsy lady. The tipsy lady had signed her name and had her drink charged to the man's card (it was $7.00). Previously, the man had tried to charge his own wine drinks + small plate to his room and handed the server a keycard (?), claiming it was some kind of discount voucher. The server declined the card, since to bill to the room, you just need a last name and the room number. The man was indignant, and had to go to the front desk to obtain whatever he needed to resolve the issue. By the time he came back, enough action had occurred, that one of the servers could have sworn the signed the receipt. Quite frankly, it was an honest mistake. When requested, the manager stepped in and began trying to reverse the charges. The customers were exceedingly rude, and became more agitated since they clearly weren't being handed a free meal. The man and his sister kept repeating, "This is bullshit! Everything should be free!" Even the gentleman accompanying his drunk friend said, "Cut them a break... [the servers are] just kids. You just asked them to fix it and told them they have five minutes to get this straight. They called their manager, and he is already over at the front desk trying to reverse the charges and take care of it... and yet you're already asking him to get back over here?! Let him do his job. They're going to take care of it." Between the two drunk people, the single woman who didn't have a lighter, yet was offered the long candle lighter to go light up her cigarette (since that's all the staff had behind the bar in a non-smoking facility), and the petulant trio that could easily have been my parents' or grandparents' age, I finished my food quickly, downed the rest of my cocktail, and went back up to my room. Honestly, outside of the drama from the couple, I think the staff of AC lounge tonight (or I should say, 9 August 2017) did a fabulous job given the circumstances. They took my extremely last minute drink and food order, made a great cocktail (highly enjoyed the Socialite guys), and the manager had brought my salmon order out (the salmon flaked well, and the lentil stew paired well with the fish... could care less about the kale on the top, but that's the carnivore in me talking). For only being open six days, I'm highly impressed with the servers. Even though they were getting lambasted for what was an extremely easy fix (from what I suspect were customers just trying to get all their drinks and snacks comped), both bar tenders had checked to make sure that either my drink was made right, and that the food was to taste. Hopefully I can try the roasted chicken and the potatoes tomorrow when the rowdy, holier-than-thou, over-privileged children are gone. And to think, Millennials get a bad wrap for attitude... I'm shocked at the entitled behavior that came from that older couple. TL;DR: Give AC Lounge a chance. I see a lot of potential for the bar and lounge. These guys look to be receptive to suggestions, so if there's something wrong, let them know. It's a conversation, not an argument. And staff: Thanks for feeding a starving traveler... the food totally beat getting the car out of the garage and going to any CVS or fast food joint.

Limited menu but the food quality is nice and there is good amount of drink selection. Good to hangout on a weekday after work to spend an hour or two

We did, but we were early -- and he immediately told us it wasn't a problem. He cracked a few jokes, which instantly made us feel welcome and happy to be there. He was incredibly friendly, funny, and set the tone for a fantastic evening. We were shown to our seats but noticed the bar was open, so we chose to sit there instead. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He asked about our evening, whether we were celebrating anything special, and genuinely made us feel valued. His service and cocktails were top-notch. He took the time to understand what we liked, offered thoughtful recommendations, and every drink was excellent. On top of that, two different servers stopped by to check on us and let us know they were available if we needed anything while the bartender was busy. That level of teamwork and attentiveness really stood out. What started as a quick nightcap turned into a much longer stay because of how welcoming and enjoyable the atmosphere was. The staff truly made the experience. Highly recommend -- and I'm very much looking forward to coming back.

One of my friends got the Cuffing Season ($18), which was also excellent and a solid choice if you want some chocolate liquor in your cocktail. Didn't try any of the food so can't comment on that. Service was decent.

Locally owned, beautifully run, and absolutely overflowing with craft, Asa is everything a Mercer Island bar should be. The cocktails? Thoughtful, balanced, and downright impressive. The food? And then there's Zeke--the bar manager, the legend, the mixology wizard, my personal hero. Whether he's crafting something off-menu or guiding you toward your new favorite drink, Zeke and the Asa team deliver hospitality that sticks with you long after the last sip. Asa has quickly earned a spot among the Island's must-visit spots, and if you're lucky enough to grab a seat at the bar, you'll understand why. Come for the cocktails, stay for the people, and leave wondering when you can justify coming back again (hint: the answer is probably tomorrow). It's a very small space, they made it cozy and the patio looked great. I had a lot of time to look around because I waited so long. The bakery items were on a plate on the counter right next to the contactless pay thing. There was no cover, or barrier between the pastries and the many people coming to the counter. I've seen buffets that have better distance and covering between people and food. There seemed to be only one barista and one bartender. More people kept coming in, At one point the bartender asked the barista if he could help her, though he wasn't trained. Seems unorganized and coffee was mediocre at best. If you want a cocktail you'd be in the right place, but a cafe this place is not.

The menu shows off many colorful fruit flavored carbonated beverages all of which sound delicious. Sometimes its really good and addicting. Other times ive been, ive gotten a few drinks that were flat and very bland flavor as if they skipped adding some of the listed flavors. I dont fully understand why. The concept is simple, they use soda and add a scoop of fruit pulp, a pump or so of syrup, and a sprinkle of dried fruit bits. I could be wrong, but I feel like i noticed they use large bottle of the carbonated drink to pour many drinks, but they go flat over time. Which means some people will get flat drinks. On my last visit i ordered several drinks. One was bland and flat.I tried to get them to remake my flat drink, but they warned me it would still be flat. I insisted as my other drinks we had taste better having more carbonated spark and sweet juicy flavors. They remade it using the same bottle of soda and it was just as flat and bland the second time so I just tossed the drink and sipped on my families drinks that tasted amazing. Idk if i would recommend this location as it seems to be so hit or miss. Maybe just make sure they use fresh soda and also that they give you all the mentioned flavors. Hey, maybe on my last visit they just ran out of flavor and fresh soda and didnt want to tell me. When they make it right, its absolutely worth a try.

Nine enticing creations make up their menu, all of them being fruity and vibrant in color. Ordering is very simple on the kiosk as you just select your drink and also choose an Adaptogen, which is their version of a health "boost". A few of the Adaptogens are free of cost (I selected the immunity one), but other more premium options will cost a dollar or two extra. According to the staff member, most of the Adaptogens are flavorless. All drinks are $7 each and only come in one size. I've visited on two different occasions and both times, my seltzer was ready in just a couple minutes. + PINEAPPLE BREEZE: A refreshing combination of pineapple purée, passion fruit purée, freeze-dried passion fruit and a thin slice of dried pineapple. Both fruity flavors were balanced; I could taste the bright pineapple and the juicy tropical passion fruit. The seltzer was crisp and perfect to enjoy in the Seattle sun. The freeze-dried passion fruit dissolved over time, strengthening the intensity of its flavor with each sip. + RUBY REFRESHER: This drink included cherry purée in addition to lychee. The menu stated that it also includes coconut, but the employee who helped us said that they have never added coconut to the drink, so I'd suggest that they update the description. Additionally, she said that they were out of the actual lychee fruit which would have otherwise been placed on top, so she substituted with some freeze-dried strawberries. This said, the drink strayed from what was displayed on the menu, but it was still good. The cherry flavor tasted very natural and the lychee flavoring brought a juicy sweetness. With this being located within the Lincoln Food Hall, these seltzers are somewhat of a splurge, but are the perfect addition to round out any meal.

Sat at the bar and tried out some happy hour specials. Got the Korean sauce wings ($12) and cheese truffle fries ($8). Decent amount of fries, definitely has cheese flavor but not that much truffle oil aroma. I liked the wings which you get 6 per order. They weren't fried, but rather tender and juicy. Sauce was agreeable. Definitely enough food for my dinner. As for the drinks, I got the rosemary mule which is Moscow mule with some rosemary herb. The copper mug they use is good sized. Tasted refreshing although could feel the alcohol afterwards. Also tried a corpse reviver no. 2, which was a little sweet but has a punch. WOW. The tequila selection here is basically a library, and the bartenders are the very enthusiastic librarians. They know everything. My partner and I were lovingly escorted through a full tequila tour before our food even arrived, and honestly? By the time dinner showed up, life was beautiful and all decisions felt correct. Needless to say, we were having an excellent time. The food definitely holds its own too. Everything came out fresh, beautifully plated, and tasting like someone in the kitchen actually cares (which is always a plus). We split a few dishes, including the Carne Asada and the Pescado. The Carne Asada was good, though it could've used just a bit more seasoning, nothing tragic, just a gentle nudge from "good" to "wow." The Pescado, however, was fantastic. Topped with olives, capers, and tomatoes... I mean, how do you even mess that up? You don't. And they didn't. Bonus points: they're open late, until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. So if you find yourself wandering the streets of Bellevue after hours, questioning your life choices and craving tequila and good food, congratulations, you've found your place. Overall: great vibes, strong drinks, solid food, and bartenders who will happily teach you more about tequila than you ever planned to know.
