Lets face it, no great story started with someone eating a salad. If you were to envision the perfect dive bar that the friendly locals hang out, this is it. The cold beers ( that are colder than your Ex's heart)and exotic drinks taste like you are not going to work tomorrow. There is also plenty of entertainment from pool tables and pull tabs to Karaoke on Saturdays -where some of the patrons become a "vocal point". ( see what I did there?) I went here with my boyfriend for my 21st birthday yesterday! It was amazing -- walked in the door and we were greeted very warmly by patrons and employees. Even though one employee wasn't on the clock, he helped us find great things to order. We also ordered with this really helpful bartender Timothy. He mixed our drinks, and they were delicious. He was super polite, even though there was a lot going on. We had the Deluxe burger and the Caesar Salad Wrap with mini corn dogs -- and they were so, so good. This is my neighborhood watering hole, a perfect divey sports bar that is everything a dive should be: they most always have your game on, and if not, they will turn it on for you. A little darts, a little pool, some pull tabs, good variety on the taps and good prices on the hooch. Fun and diverse music on the occasionally psychic jukebox (it has mysteriously played music by artists we were just talking about on more than one occasion). The menu is classic burger-centric bar food, and portions are generous. They can be understaffed at times (missing star) which can make eating here problematic. A couple times I stopped in for lunch, and could only get a beer because the line bartender was also trying to be the cook. Another time, the overwhelmed barkeep completely forgot that I had ordered food. I certainly understand the necessity of keeping down payroll expenses, having been a manager before. But it would be good if they offered a limited menu the staff can handle instead of letting customers down. The staff is engaging and they keep the mood light and fun most of the time. I've been coming here for over 10 years and it keeps getting better and better. First, let me say at first glance this place is a divey sports bar, with the usual pool table, pull tabs, and Dart boards. But it's so much more! You have of course the regulars who come here week after week. You have the weekly karaoke nights with singers filled with liquid courage. You have the intellectuals who attend trivia night. You have your pool masters and self proclaimed drinking masters. But what is most impressive is the diversity of people. The full rainbow spectrum. All inclusive. All excepting. And believe me you, the owners and bartenders will ensure all is welcome! The staff here is THE best in town. Remembers your name and drinks and can potentially be your BFF. They have no problem with dealing with patrons who discriminate or disrespects. The drinks here are strong and the portions are too big to finish (not complaining). Went in on Memorial day for an early lunch. Had eaten there before and enjoyed the food. The decor is nice, but you gotta move some chairs outta the way to sit at a table - they really cram them together. This time it was a meh visit. The menu says burgers are served with all condiments on the side, so I didn't bother ordering special like I have to elsewhere (I hate pickles and mayo). Well, my burger comes and it's piled high with condiments, including the hated pickles and mayo. I said I was surprised because the menu said all that should be on the side. She said they had a new "chef" (her words) and he did it this way. She offered to have him remake the bun but I could just as easily set aside the sloppy mayo half. As for the pickles, they soak into everything so short of getting a whole new sandwich, it is what it is. The burger was unremarkable. The bun seemed to be a few days old, very dry. Patty just blah. If you love football and beer, this is the place for you. If you don't love football and beer, this is not the place for you. I gave this place a 3-star because that's the average between my 2 star rating as to my preferences, and my rating of 4-stars for what is, i am sure, a decent football dive. I came in during the baseball playoffs, and even then i had to beg some-one to turn it to that from a replay of an out-of-state college football game. And then as soon as a replay of a cougar's game came on, that was it for baseball. The food (burgers, fries, and mozzarella sticks) could have been microwaved freezer food. I realize i probably should have just asked for a vodka cranberry or a screwdriver, but i've gotten spoiled by every bar in creation being able to do a fruity cocktail. I am really happy and fortunate to live within a stone's throw of this fine pub and eatery. I've been here a handful of times both with friends and rolling solo and each visit was comfortable and inviting. It is what you make of it. Erin the bartender is very friendly and My kind of gal as she says she is jealous each time I receive my order of hot wings and am about to dive in. I have only ordered the wings four stars in heat and have been really pleased with the flavor and how the wings were cooked. I rank them ahead of Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings. I know wings are a personal preference like all food, but can't give these enough praise as they are among my all time favorites. The beer selection is good enough. I don't need 150 beers on tap. A few of these strong local PNW beers will send me walking home light on my feet. As far as ambiance- I love the come as you are unpretentious vibe here. Lots of smallish big screens hung and wired by some Pollock with coax and electrical wires strewn about the bar like Charlotte's (dive bar) Web. I chuckle every time I see it. Still, all the important games are on and the local crowd here makes watching a game comfortable. I've noticed the genius management at J. Michael's set up a complimentary nacho station during weekend games. That's bonus star material- bumping them up to the full boat. Joe B., or "Dragon" which he claims to be called by, is really cool and since I'm his ex girlfriend from a one week relationship 10+ after the fact when I was 21 and he was 39, got me kicked out of the bar. He's really cool. He has anger issues and chased me down the street because I asked him for space because he had been yelling at me and when he started getting aggressive with me, decided to break up with him... keep in mind this is over 10+ years ago, and he is an adult ass man with the ability to communicate and use his human, verbally-speaking mouth and I never did anything that was actually wrong or illegal. So the BAR themselves kicked me out after overserving me over 5+ drinks that contained liquor, and I'm sitting outside trying to call an UBER at 5:45am because harassing women is cool beans with them. Also, I really really want to stress that this was a one week relationship that happened two years ago and I broke up with him because HE was yelling at me. I don't know how that with how that means I deserve getting kicked out of two bars because of a guy TWO DECADES my senior is so cool he reserves the right. Since there's only 2 bars in Redmond and all 2 of them are siding with Joe, I view this as a complete and total discrimination. I have been buying drinks all night and playing pool and music at the jukebox. Can I get a refund? Also I'm Hella drunk and can't call my bank to transfer funds. In my many trips to Ben Franklin in Redmond, I have noticed J Michaels Pub but never went in. A friend group and I were out on an adventure and wanted to try places we had never been and went in. The Bar has a small town feel and people were having a great time. Not a fancy place, but all were having fun. Pool is available and the décor is not fancy but fun. Michael's is second only to Palmer's in its divey-ness factor) but their selection of beers and consistent pub grub more than makes up for the lack of sticky floors and gamey patrons. You can get all four Mac & Jack's beers (a local Redmond product available only in kegs and growlers) on tap here (I bet you thought they just had one - the African Amber). No, they have a Blackcat Porter, an IPA and my favorite, the Serengeti Wheat. The mini burritos are great (careful they're really hot) and Erin and the crew are a lot of fun! Oh, and they also keep Redmond's Black Raven's Trickster IPA on tap for those hop-heads who actually like a balanced IPA that doesn't rip your taste buds out by the roots. read more

We watched Game 5 of the NBA finals there and the place was rowdy and lively - exactly what you want from a sports bar. I have often been here to watching football games and there is a "regular" crowd that is friendly and welcoming. The staff is nice and decent for a bar. I have never tried the food. Seems like "all frozen stuff." I have never "notcied" a cook in the back and I think the servers are also the "kitchen staff." I had the fries one time, and they were...well, fries. I am glad they have Mac and Jacks on tap, which is one of my favorite beers! The prices are reasonable or better for a dive-bar.
