I'm honestly not even sure where to begin, because there were so many issues during our visit that it completely ruined the experience. It was clear the restaurant was short-staffed, but unfortunately, that translated into very poor service. We had to ask the waiter for almost everything twice -- menus, condiments, and basic necessities. The waiter never wrote down our order, and unsurprisingly, it arrived incorrectly. To make matters worse, one person's meal was delivered about 10 minutes after everyone else's, with no explanation. Two of us ordered dishes that came with fries, and both orders arrived with fries that were completely cold. On top of that, the restaurant has only one shared bathroom for both men and women, which is not ideal for a dining establishment. At one point, they were also out of silverware, which added to the overall feeling of disorganization. Another frustrating surprise was a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Service issues extended beyond our table. At one point, the bartender was sitting behind the bar reading a newspaper, and she did not appear to be assisting the floor staff or acting as part of a team, despite how overwhelmed everything seemed. But the final issue -- and the one that guarantees we will never return -- was a serious sanitation concern. The waiter carried a rag in his back pocket and repeatedly used it to wipe sweat pouring off his head while working in the dining area. He did NOT WASH HIS HANDS afterward and continued touching everyone's cups, silverware, napkins, and meals. This is no different than coughing into your hands and then handling guests' food. Honestly, I really should have called the health department. Between the poor service, cold food, surprise fees, lack of basic supplies, and major hygiene issues, this was a very disappointing experience and not one I would recommend to anyone. read more

What a disappointment. Have been before and everything has declined. Service was minimal. Food was dry and over cooked. The soda bread used to be served hot to the table. That no longer happens and the soda bread that came with my meal was cardboard with unspreadable butter - and the butter wasn't even Irish butter. It was very lively when I came despite it being after midnight on a Wednesday. I got the Irish Dip and fries with a Paddy's Punch. We came here for dinner and trivia night with friends randomly this week. I definitely recommend a reservation for trivia nights because they were completely booked and we only got in by chance of another table cancelling. It's pretty dark inside and a touch crammed, especially with a few tables right around the back door to the "patio"ish section. There's only 1 bathroom. They have a good drink and food menu with lots of Irish themed meals. We had the whiskey burger and the shepherds pie. I thought both were pretty good, but weren't quite as flavorful as expected. Best kept secret for a Bellevue breakfast. Ordered an Irish breakfast which is plenty of food and tasted better than what I had in the UK. Typical Irish fair and good times. Reminds me a bar/restaurant id frequent in Manhattan Beach, CA called Hennessy's. I ordered a black and tan. My friend ordered a Moscow mule. We made it in just before happy hour was over. I'd hear the brisket was tasty and happy they offered half a Rueben sandwich. Delicious pieces of corned beef, with sauerkraut, on rye bread just enough 1000 style sauce to not drown out the sandwich. Friendly service too. My friend had a burger cooked medium. My dining companion asked for no cheese and it still came with cheese but still was yummy. So I heard. You had the choice of shoestring or steak fries. We split ice cream. Three scoops cheaper than two separate scoops so we shared. Vanilla ice cream with caramel and pecans. I came here for the first time with my best friends last Friday after we watched the Deadpool movie and was surprised at how many empty tables they had. We easily found a large table and our server came over immediately to greet us. She was super friendly and welcoming and we appreciated how attentive she was the entire time we were there. I was the designated driver so I only ordered a Shirley Temple, but it tasted pretty good and I had no complaints. It wasn't overly sweet, which made it perfect for sipping while my friends and I hung out. My best friend ordered the hot cocoa with whiskey and unfortunately didn't enjoy it because it tasted like whiskey which she doesn't like. So if you're not a whiskey-lover, surprise surprise, the hot cocoa probably isn't for you. My only qualm with this place is that they have a small restroom. After spending two hours nursing my Shirley Temple, I really had to go, but the bathroom was full and someone else was already waiting. I ended up running to the mall for a buzzer-beater bathroom break. Would not recommend this place to people who need to go frequently after breaking the seal. When this happened, I was pretty grateful that I hadn't been drinking. We spent almost two hours at this bar, and most of the other patrons were there for longer than us. We love how homely it made us feel, and the three of us were able to hold a conversation without feeling like we had to yell at each other. The food is delicious and the waitress was great. There is only 1 toilet for the entire establishment. My 8 year old granddaughter was in the bathroom and failed to lock the door, yes - she said she thought she had locked it. 3 people tried to walk in even after I said someone was in there and another woman also said someone was in there. Yet, a staff member still opened the door! And the bartender is non caring and rude. There was a protest going on outside and one of the cooks went to check it out and opened the door and stood there with door open in 40 degree weather. I wanted to get the fish and chips and the beef stroganoff so I did! Thankfully, we were there during their happy hour so I got the happy hour size of the fish and chips. The fish tasted fresh and was firm. It wasn't soggy or too oily either. The batter wasn't too thick and had good flavor. The tartar sauce was perfect and not too overpowering or too rich. The coleslaw was very light and was not heavy with dressing so it balanced the fish and the tartar sauce. The stroganoff was good, but not great. I didn't like the cut of meat they used because it was too try. The noodles were a bit over cooked. I loved the buttered toast though! I felt like I was eating dessert haha but it's not because it was sugary, it just tasted creamy and luscious so you can tell they put a lot of butter on the toast. Service was not bad. I just felt like their timing was so off. They would check in on us when we're in the middle of an intense conversation. This is a solid place. One of the few bars in downtown Bellevue that stays open really late, including their kitchen. They were super accommodating for letting us host our after party for our wedding here without an extra fee. We came here around 11pm and stayed until close. But the service is what gets me every time - the best. Nothing really superb. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were as generic as it gets while the only positive thing was the vegetables. Those did have lots of flavor. The potatoes were too bland and the meatloaf had a gritty texture to it that didn't really sit right. Service was just as okay. She seemed super irritated that we all asked for separate checks. Paddy Coyne's Bellevue is a nice Irish style pub in the middle of downtown Bellevue in the huge commercial complex. This location is convenient to the shopping and offices in the area and is connected to the covered walkway system. Parking is available in the area garages which may or may not charge a fee. The place was packed on Black Friday for the USA v. England 2022 World Cup game. I guess there is some logic in rooting against England in an Irish Pub! The tables were full of fans, but the bar was relatively empty and a great place for me to watch the game and get some grub. It was too early for me to be drinking, but I ordered some coffee and fish & chips and watched the game. My food was brought quickly although I was in no hurry. The fish was large and generous with a good batter fry. It became a little soggy after a while, but this may have been due to the lettuce under the fish. The chips were regular French fries, nothing special. The service was great with the bar staff keeping my coffee warm and not interfering with the game. Overall, Paddy Coyne's is a decent place for a pint and a match. The place has a nice feel and is probably the best imitation of a real Irish pub when it's cold and gray outside and warm and lively inside.
