Wonderful! I was in Seattle for a conference and wanted a warm and comfortable place to enjoy dinner. I enjoyed their French onion soup, the broth was rich and not just salty. One of the best I've ever had! I then had a nice steak and frites. Flavor was there, meat could have been better (more tender) but nothing that would deter me from going back. Had the yogurt sponge cake to finish and the crumb was nice and thick and moist. Felt like all the sides were made in house (house whipped cream for the cake, house cut and fried fries, etc). It really made the experience. I sat at the bar and our server was fine-- attentive and got our orders in quickly. It was smooth and rich so I appreciated the pickles and mustard that was served with it. We couldn't finish our appetizer so they packed it for us with some bread. We were visiting Seattle and were really excited to try Le Pichet as we had seen it recommended so many times. We called to book a table the day before and were told they only had availability at 5pm and the table would be needed back at 6.30pm, which we were fine with given we really wanted to try this spot. We arrived at 5pm promptly, excited to try the food, and were not given the warmest welcome. Our waitress arrived and she was much friendlier than the guy greeting guests. We ordered a bottle of Vouvray and large charcuterie board to start. The charcuterie board was great, with some of the best pates we have had. For mains I ordered the mussels and my husband ordered the pork belly. My mussels arrived and the portion was a little small and it didn't look the most appetising. The flavour wasn't my favourite, with the bacon overwhelming the dish. The fries were very good though (well cooked and seasoned). When the pork arrived it looked a little undercooked, with very pale and soft skin. When my husband cut into the pork it was cold and inedible. We mentioned this to the waitress who took the pork back to the kitchen. A little while later my husband was presented with the same pork chop which had just been cooked a bit more (even down to the piece that he had cut off to eat still being on the plate). At this point we decided to leave and asked for the bill. The team did kindly comp our food, which we didn't ask for or expect, so that was a nice touch. Although, when leaving the restaurant the host was also a fairly rude and dismissive, ignoring us when we said goodbye and wishing him a nice evening. To top off our experience about 45 minutes after leaving the restaurant I was pretty sick for several hours. All in all we can't recommend this restaurant, nor would we return. If you are looking for French food in Seattle I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

An adorable casual bistro near Pike's that serves up rustic French Fare. BF got a diet coke ($5) and the baguette sandwich ($15) and I got the 3-Charcuterie plate ($16) with pate and terrine. We also had some baguette and butter. Pros: -The variety of charcuterie was so impressive! I love pate / terrine. -I wish I got the waitresses name because she was so lovely and charming and sweet :) Cons -Almost everything on the menu was "not available" when we went. No steak, no soup, no chicken, some of the terrines were out. -Baguette was not warm. So strangely, at the end of the day you do really feel like you're paying to have some cold baguette and ham in a cute bistro at Pike's. The food and service here were excellent, and it's nice to see that not much has changed since my last visit. Everything came out fresh and flavorful, and the benedicts are anything but traditional with creative twists that definitely stand out. Portions were generous, and on the food alone it felt like a solid experience. That said, there are a few things that keep me from considering a return. The 20% service charge is clearly stated, but it could be more transparent whether that means tipping isn't expected. Sitting inside is likely the better choice, as we were heavily harassed by a homeless man outside, and despite trying to flag staff for help, no one seemed to notice. It didn't ruin the meal completely, but it left us feeling uncomfortable. great food, but not a place I feel drawn to go back to. read more

The very last meal in Seattle doubles as review #1,500. This was a Yelp recommendation and a fine one. An adorable little bistro that everyone would love to own. The staff are priceless and so moving. They bring a warmth to the room that makes you wish for a longer stay They have an impressive selection of wines and the food is exceptional. From soup to nuts or might I say charcuterie to Les Dessert. We were guided to the Roast Chicken and the Salmon. Both absolutely fabulous. Presentation was very impressive. Our cheese was Vacherousse accompanied by a 2016 Domaine du Clos du Fief "La Roche" Beaujolais. Add two Le Baronesse. The ambiance was incredible and the service very deliberate. Le Pichet was recommended by a local friend when I visited Seattle for work. She ended up taking me out, and we had one of the best meals throughout my trip. I always love me a local, rustic, warm and cozy food place, and they serve authentic French cuisine with a northwest twist. Service was the best here. Everyone was happy ans friendly. We got ourselves an assortment of pate, onion soup, and seared duck breast. I'm a fan of pate so I couldn't help myself. I had one of the best chicken liver pate here at Le Pichet. It was so livery, creamy, so so good that I ended up getting more AND togo more back to my hotel. Onion soup was packed with flavors as well. Nice sear on the duck, really tender. They also surprised me with a Basque Cheesecake for my birthday, and it was also really good. This was easily one of the best French restaurants I've been to, and I highly recommend when you visit Seattle. read more

Excellent service at Le Pichet. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with recommendations and navigating the menu. The food was ok. My date really enjoyed the muscles, and my skirt-steak was prepared well, though the portion was smaller than I expected. The potato-leek soup was excellent, but the charcuterie we ordered as an appetizer had a variety of different meats - most of which weren't to our liking. The restaurant is small, but very cute. If it's busy, you might feel like you're having dinner with strangers because theirs limited space between tables - which makes having conversations a bit tricky if you have a guest or date. I would recommend looking at the menu online before going to the restaurant, so you have an idea of what things are... and, if you're looking for a quiet spot to take a guest and/or a date, perhaps go during a slower time of day. read more

Seattle, Belltown. July 2024 1st Ave can be part ghetto, part zoo from Pike St to Virginia - the part that is above Pike Place Market. Le Pichet is right at the edge on 1st, by Virginia, and it is restores some sanity after experiencing the hustle on the streets below. This is a small bistro very much styled as a place where regular people in the neighborhood can drop in for a beer or a small bite. Do not expect an extensive menu. For lunch, it is very basic - baguette sandwich here, salad there, an egg dish, the rest is charcuterie. Dinner offers a few more full plates. Wine is the preferred choice, with a few beers, and numerous apertif or digestive liqueurs. I've only eaten during lunch and enjoy a light bite with an amaro or apertif. A plate of some slices of charcuterie with cornichons, baguette slices and butter is a good meal for me. I have never found the people there anything but pleasant. I see them exchanging pleasantries with regulars, a good sign. You will read that others have experienced less courtesy. I have not been there when it is packed or during dinner so maybe my experience is an exception. But if you want something a little less hectic, with less upselling, and without the street crazies in your face then head up to this place and relax a little. read more

Incredible gem, have heard from many it's a long time classic of the area. Everything from the ambience to the service was just cozy, welcoming and one of a kind. The menu is very straightforward and curated so every single item is of the highest quality. I will tip less than I normally do as the owners claim to use it to take care of the staff. I hope that's true or it's unfair to the help. The impressive part for food is the house made Carmel toffee ... that's about it... Sockeye dinner was okay, they had the ingredients but didn't apply well at all, surely not worth the price. i first tried this place for lunch. my friend got the œuf plats while i got les tartines with the warm gruyère. pretty simple plates we ordered but they were so fresh and well-prepared. we also got the beignets with goat cheese which was definitely our favorite part. i'm not even some fancy french food aficionado or anything, but i still think about that country bread that came with my tartines more recently, i brought my partner (who has actually been to france) for dinner, and they LOVED it. the entire experience was incredible. the inside is pretty small but it is wonderfully decorated with real tile floors & pictures and posters of france. we had a lovely waitress who guided us through the menu, too. we started with a petit charcuterie: chicken liver, duck liver, and beef tongue. this was actually my first time trying liver; it was absolutely delicious. for dinner, i ordered the confit de canard (duck). the outside is wonderfully charred but the meat itself falls off the bone so easily that i didn't even have to use my knife. it is paired with cheesey grits that i loved (and i don't even really like grits) plus some fresh apricots. my partner ordered the bavette grillée et frites, which may seem simpler but it was glazed with cognac and black garlic. it reminded them of the first meal they had in paris, it was just that good. to finish our incredible meal, we got the chocolat chaud: basically, a warm, parisian-style chocolate mousse with their fresh whipped cream. the way it tasted was, to me, the definition of the word "decadent." this place should be a seattle staple if it isn't already. read more

Found the perfect wine bar for date night or catching up with friends! My friend and I made a reservation for Friday night at 8pm. We wanted somewhere to grab a couple glasses of wine and chat and this was the perfect place! Service was great; our server was very attentive and gave us great recs! There are street parking available and some paid lots nearby and super close to pike place market. We ordered a charcuterie plate (petite $13) and asked for chef's selection because we couldn't choose! Prices are really reasonable here; we started with a glass ($9) of l'Ameillaud Côtes du Rhône 2018 each and we regretted not ordering the whole bottle.
