Alaskan Cod & Chips and Prawns & Chips

The batter has Cajun seasoning which was good but the fish, prawn, and clams were not fresh. I do like the sauce and fries were crispy. Fish and chips starting at $10 is good price. You just ordered at the counter, there are few seats inside and there is patio tables. There is small parking lots, I think there are four spots. Service was good.

Affordable, very good portions and quick service, just gets packed quick and little seating inside. Service was friendly and quick too. We had the cod and the halibut, both were good! It comes with coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw wasn't my personal favorite, it's just not as wet as I'd like it but it had some extra ingredients in it that I thought was interesting. Fries and fish were perfectly crispy. Would 100% come here again!

Felt like some fish and drove by this place....and had to turn around. Walking inside it's small and has a long table with maybe 4-5 seats for seating and that's it. Outside has seating to eat your food too. The menu is descent with food choices. I ordered a 3 Piece Alaskan Cod and comes with Fries and Cole Slaw. I also bought a Buttermilk Pie. Alaskan Cod was good....Cole Slaw was ok....Buttermilk Pie wasn't bad. If you're in the area swing by.

We had just been to a fair and were really craving some fish and chips from one of the food trucks there, but by the time we got there, it was already closed. So, we started looking for the best fish and chips in Seattle and found Emerald City Fish and Chips, which had great reviews. We decided to give it a try, and it was totally worth it! The fish came out fresh, hot, and crispy you could really taste the flavor of the fish. We ordered the catfish and fries, the fish was excellent, though I felt the fries could've been a bit better. What really stood out was the owner, such a nice guy! Even though he was busy cooking, he still took time to chat with people, which made the whole experience feel really warm and personal. If you're ever in the mood for some classic, delicious fish and chips with a friendly local vibe, this place is definitely worth checking out! *****Rating***** Fish - 5/5 Owner -5/5 Freshness 5/5

My first Fish and Chips experience at Seattle Washington was here! I saw the raving reviews for this place so decided to try it. It's a smaller establishment but it does have its own parking space-- there are about 4 designated parking spots for Emerald City Fish & Chips. There is inside seating as well but since the weather was great we took a seat at a table outside. For Seattle price, a 5 piece Alaskan Cod Fish and Chips ended up being around 21$ after tax. The fish have thin breading and the chips were about as expected. The dish came with malt vinegar packets and some coleslaw on the side. Generally a good experience! It came out fairly fast and water is complimentary.

In Seattle and searching for good fish and chips, we kept getting directed to Emerald City Fish and Chips in Mount Baker. It was across town, but we like an adventure. Little did we know what awaited us. We arrived to a small dive with maybe 10 seats for a mainly take-out fish stand. We were not overly impressed, but have been surprised before, so we gave them a shot. We ordered fried cod with fries, calamari rings with fries and crab puppies. The crab puppies were alleged hush puppies with crab stuffed inside. I never did visualize or taste any crab meat. Everything was fried and extra sauce was an additional 50 cents. As we waited for our order and scoped out a potential seat, I noted a large bag of frozen fries being dumped into the fryer. I should have followed my gut. The food was served quickly with little flavor and left me yearning for some bit of seasoning. It was also a bit greasy. We did not finish the food and left quickly. I went back to Yelp and noted a 4.2 rating. How could this be? The Seattle magazine, free to tourists, touted the food. I just got lazy and wanted to find that small shop, a diamond in the rough, THIS IS NOT THAT PLACE. To those who love this place, power to you. I am not one to return.

Very impressed by this spot! Recommended by a friend, we went in and got a sampler and the owner was super understanding about our dietary restrictions. So if you're Muslim, this is definitely a spot to support! They fry in canola oil, the seafood is not beer-batter based, and they swapped out the catfish for a different fish for us with no problem. Super appreciative of businesses who are transparent and willing to swap things around. Interior is on the smaller side with only some bar stools but there's two picnic tables outside. Most people seemed to be taking food away. Parking is limited out front bc it's shared by a few other businesses.

came in cause this spot was featured on worth it's show :) i asked what fish the staff would recommend, which was cod. they also have a ton of great options for fish for their chips at different price points, cod, catfish, salmon, prawn, etc. even chicken, if you're bringing someone who isn't into fish (for some reason). now hoooly, this was good fish. as background, i've never been the biggest fan of fish and chips in general, i had it at a "famous" spot in london and was unenthused by the dish for a long while. recently, i've been hunting places in seattle for a good fish and chips meal after moving here though, and this spot really captured my heart and i'm definitely an enjoyer. super flavorful fish with a light, crisp, and flakey crust, can't even make this up, it was a perfect light fry in my opinion. great flavor coming through as well with plenty of moisture retained in the cod. and the chips (or fries, for the uninitiated) were so bomb as well. frankly, i found the cajun? dusting to be an incredible add and the texture was incredible on these. each order also comes with a coleslaw which went well with the fried items, and i found the 3 piece to be a sufficient size for a small-medium meal at a great price for the cod. overall just such a great experience here, i will definitely be back to try the catfish and salmon, and just like in worth it, probably will give the chowder a shot too. ambiance wise, there's a small parking lot with reasonable amounts of parking and the shop has a handful of seats indoor and outdoor, was kept really nice and i love the neighborhood go-to spot vibe. staff were also very nice! overall: 10/10 taste: 10/10 price: 10/10 honestly, it hasn't gotten better than this in my experience with fish and chips.

Came in during lunch. There is a small parking lot at the restaurant. Was very excited to see the cleanliness rating was excellent. There is some limited seating inside and outside. Staff were super friendly. Pricing was very comparable. Food was fresh and very hot. Would totally come back.

SO DAMN GOOD. That's it. Get the Alaskan cod fish and chips and a large gumbo and your taste buds will thank me. Service was great and so kind.

Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A Found on very busy noisy Rainier Avenue south main road. Has private parking. There's also a bus stop in close proximity. The store front area and inside are nicely bright and clean. Even the windows are sparkling clear. There are two huge metal picnic tables with umbrellas that make a lovely outdoor eating experience on beautiful days. I like a business that cares about there customer experience. Chalkboard menu above on entering and my cashier / server was very friendly. They had cod and catfish baskets. And they both were same price , so server honored my request to have one of each with my fish basket. Cooked to order. Like the thin nicely seasoned cornmeal fried crust on both fish. Flaky hot and moist morsels. Not fishy at all Glad the catfish was not muddy texture of taste. The fries were nice and hot and crispy and nice simple lightly vinegar crunchy coleslaw as sides were beautiful accompaniments. The portions remind me of half portion fish which is perfect for me as I like to sample anyway. And the total cost for the full basket 2 fish, fries and coleslaw is $9.95 Whenever I'm back in this area I willmske an attempt to stop by again. I'm a FaN!!!

Salmon & Chips Sweet potato fries
    Brandy I.

The salmon was crispy on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside. It had a nice, light seasoning that didn't overpower the natural flavor of the fish. The sweet potato fries were also a hit, crispy edges, soft centers, and just the right amount of salt. They paired perfectly with the house tartar sauce. Service was friendly and pretty fast. Always keeps me coming back

I'm actually not a bagel guy, nor do I ever think about them when it comes to grabbing a quick bite somewhere but this was a perfect opportunity to try it again. There was an assortment of bagels, and I got half of an everything bagel and - the one that several of my coworkers highly recommended - the rosemary bagel. Both go well with cream cheese. - The everything bagel was pretty standard; I could taste the garlic and sesame seeds throughout. Garlic was quite powerful on this one though, and I almost thought of garlic bread until I remembered bagels are harder to chew on. - My favorite was the rosemary bagel, just like my coworkers. I could taste the herbs clearly on this one; it was aromatic yet a little bitter. It was balanced with the saltiness already present on the bagel. Since I didn't go to their physical location - which looks like quite a walk from Georgetown - I have yet to see the inside of this place. Having some of their bagels makes me wanna go check it out someday!

I just ordered a half dozen of bagels this time but would like to sit a bit next time. Cute place in the neighborhood. Everything Bagel was kind of on the darker side and I was worried it might be whole wheat or something.... Just baked a bit darker than my preference. Got them home and they were crusty with a good chew. Will be back again next time I'm in Georgetown or Beacon Hill.

I was really vacillating between 4 and 5 stars here since my final rating for this place is 4.5/5…read more I'm choosing to rate this 5 stars at the end because of high potential, great staff and hearty food! This indoor restaurant is close to the streets of Rainier Ave and there is unmarked parking all along S Grand St you can utilize, but it can be nearly full like on the Saturday noon around 12:30pm I came here with parents. It is in the same building as the Melody Jabooda Apartments, and is pretty compact inside. There's several small tables inside than can fit a max of 3 people, yet the interior muffles the bulk of the noisy traffic on Rainier Ave. There's some decor on the walls and near the counter where the kitchen is, and the counter to order is almost directly in front of the entrance. Phone reception inside was iffy, as I had to go outside the building to check into here on the Yelp app. Seating was full, mostly from patrons ordering and taking their goods to go but with some actually dining in. For a place that serves banh mi, they also have pho, bun, Vietnamese coffee, lattes and matcha drinks. Several of the drinks are also available in hot formats, and all drinks cost the same except for Vietnamese coffee and lattes which cost $1.95 and $1 less before tax, respectively. There are different price tags for the hot drinks. Banh mi sandwiches also come in bags that look like they could be used for roasted coffee beans - they're dark brown and are about the same size as store-bought coffee bean bags. What a coincidence given they also serve coffee! We got many things from here: - Old school Vietnamese coffee ($7, hot): according to my dad (and me after having several sips), this unfortunately tasted more like American coffee; it was missing sweetened condensed milk to make it more like so, and the coffee itself wasn't strong. It seems regular milk was used as the sweetener instead. - Oolong house blend ($8.95): your standard milk tea. I added both grass jelly and tapioca onto this. Mom liked this and had no complaints; I had a sip and thought it was pretty good too. - Grilled pork banh mi sandwich ($9.95, medium toast): I partially shared this one with my mom. Grilled pork is all right at best, otherwise it has all the works of a great banh mi. We'd still prefer the one from Q Bakery for now. - Butterfly matcha: the butterfly pea flower in this drink created a blue hue inside the drink in its own layer and essentially enhanced the ceremonial matcha taste a lot more, since it tasted more woody and earthier than usual once I mixed everything. It's also sweet enough to satisfy any matcha lover out there. I loved this drink a lot and would highly recommend! - House special banh mi sandwich ($10.95, medium toast): this sandwich is much larger than I expected, and comes with Vietnamese ham, pork ham, pate, jalapeños and what looked like Chinese sausage along with the same works as the grilled pork. Everything went well together and it was loaded! All meats were fresh and just this sandwich alone made me really full. Another high recommend! I really appreciated the staff for asking all the clarifying questions for our banh mi sandwiches and drinks, like how toasted we wanted our sandwiches, the sweetness and ice levels of our drinks, and toppings for those drinks. They also let me and other patrons in line know of wait times for our food, with my order being quoted about 15 minutes and coming out by that timeframe. This place has been open since September of last year, and they have a decked out menu for anyone wanting to grab both food and drink. I'm definitely coming back to try their other drinks and sandwiches!

Oh yeah banh mi spot that's definitely worth a stop even if you're just coming in for drinks…read more We had just eaten, so we skipped the sandwiches this time and went straight for something refreshing. The strawberry jasmine green tea was light, fragrant, and not overly sweet, while the salted plum calamansi jasmine tea had that perfect balance of tangy, citrusy, and slightly savory super refreshing and honestly hit the spot. The space itself is nicely decorated with a cozy, modern vibe, and the customer service was great friendly, quick, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Only downside is the place is a bit on the smaller side, so seating can feel limited if it gets busy. Haven't tried the banh mi yet, but based on this first impression, I'm definitely coming back to see what they're about. Rating: 4/5 (for drinks + service + vibe so far)
