Only ordered the double smash so this review is just for that. I ordered on a touchscreen menu and food took maybe 7-10 min. The burger was so incredibly oily when I unwrapped it, like almost dripping oil and I had to raise the edges of the wrapper so the oil didn't get on the table. This is a new-ish smash burger restaurant inside Uwajimaya food court. I do not remember the exact price but there is only a dollar difference between their single and double, so it is a no brainer to go for the double smash burger. The service and ambiance here are irrelevant. You order through a kiosk and pick up your food. You can eat in the food court seating area but my team took our food back to the office. The base price just includes the buns, patties, Chubby's sauce and pickles. If you want to add anything, each additional item costs between 50 cents to a dollar. I added lettuce for 50 cents more. The price is pretty terrible for single but if you get the double, I think it is alright. Especially in Seattle. Their food safety rating is Excellent. I love that. The cooks seem like they were following a set of very specific steps when cooking the burgers. And my burger was good. I got the double with lettuce added. It isn't the best smash burger I have had or anything but it is very good. The smashed burger is super crispy and is exactly what I was looking for. Located in the Uwajimaya food court which is very busy and can be difficult to find a place to sit inside. The single is $7 and the double is only $8 which is probably one of the cheapest burgers I've seen around. The only thing is that tomato, lettuce, and raw onion can all be added on but they are 50 cents each. The burger comes with cheese, their sauce, and pickles. Pretty good smash burger! I spent all morning at the doctors and stop by uwajimaya for some grocery and got hungry. Forgot I had been fasting for 16hours so I grabbed a burger and some fries. They just opened a new spot called Chubby's inside the Uwajimaya food court, so of course I had to check it out! Their menu is super simple just a few items, which I actually liked because it wasn't overwhelming. They don't do combo meals, and I think when I went they were still pretty new and getting into their groove. Service was okay, nothing bad, just felt like they were still figuring things out. Since it's Uwajimaya, it can get busy, but they do have a station where you place your order so it moves along. I got the mushroom smash burger with a side of fries. The burger was juicy, but honestly a little too greasy for me and I love burgers, so that says something lol. The fries were solid though! Overall, the food was okay. I'm pretty sure they were still in their soft-opening phase, so I'd definitely give them another try once they're fully settled in. read more

This place is legit! Burgers are simple but OMG they are tasty. Everything made fresh (ie no frozen patties), and the crust they get on the meat...it is caramelized!! Great smashburger for a good price. You can find this place located inside Uwajimaya. There are tables to sit and eat or you can take your food to go. The menu is very simple with options of a single or double burger and a mushroom burger. You can also pay to get add-ons like onions and jalapeños. They do sell fries here as well. Finally around to trying Chubby's and was not disappointed! Just a really good, classic burger. Got it plain because I wanted to taste the meat itself. Great crust on the patty, well seasoned and it was pretty cool getting to see them cooked fresh right in front of you and the staff was friendly. It's tucked inside Uwajimaya in the ID so getting a seat is always gonna be iffy, but plenty of other food options for others. Stop number one on the most recent CID Small Business Food Walk: Chubby's Burgers, a new smashburger joint that opened in the Uwajimaya food court just a couple of weeks ago. With clean, White Castle-esque aesthetics, it looks almost like it was carved straight out of the LA smashburger scene and transplanted in Seattle. The menu is very simple, with a singular focus on smash burgers, a small menu of toppings, and fries. Simple enough that my first thought upon walking up to the counter: what they do, they must do very well. We visited before the lunch rush started so our order only took about 5 minutes to prepare: Cheeseburger + Fries Food Walk Special ($8) - The cheeseburger seems to be their standard single patty smash burger, normally $7.50. The patty is smashed completely flat, perhaps only a quarter inch at the thickest, granting maximal contact with the flat top. This allows development of crisp lacy edges as a skirt around the interior patty. It has good flavor, isn't salted too heavily, and while by itself is a bit dry on the interior, there's plenty more in the burger to make up for that deficiency. Firstly, underneath the patty is their Chubby's Sauce, what seems to be a sweet mayochup mixture, spread by the spoonful. On top, a slice of cheese, completely melted, gooey and fatty, adds even more creaminess and moisture. Embedded in the cheese, a couple of thick slices of crisp, freshly piquant pickles add a bite to the sandwich that really helps to cut through some of the fattiness. The ingredients are then enveloped in a soft bun, only lightly toasted with butter. As a whole, the burger is pillowy, yet greasy, with only some bites interspersed with bits of crisp texture. Biting rightside up, the sweetness of the Chubby's Sauce dominates, but biting upside down, the flavor of the butter in the bun comes out on top. I believe they give a half order of fries with the special. They are standard battered commercial fries, fried until crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Not much else to say about them - pretty standard, nothing special. Seattle isn't exactly known for its smashburger scene (heck, probably half of the palces on most "best smashburger" lists in the city I wouldn't even consider smashburgers, but I digress). I just didn't like the food. I got the double patty with lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions. The menu is very small which is fine if it done to perfection. But the burger is messy, overly greasy and too charred. It hurt my stomach. However, the staff is very welcoming, hardworking, and friendly. And I like the space, it stands out. read more

Excellent! I got my burger in about 5 minutes. Ordered the double smash burger with no pickles and added bacon and onions. The toasted bun adds stability and the onions added a nice crunch. Not too greasy, and not overcooked and crunchy like some smash burgers. The sauce on the bun was nice and not overpowering.
