I enjoy this hidden restaurant. It's in a building close to the Chinatown library. I've been coming here for years before Crawfish was popular and I love the spice level, corn and bag of crawfish that is steamed to order. Eating the meat from the crawfish takes work. It's a messy process and really fun with a group. I like going to gossip or share tea afterwards to co my mouth down from the afterburner of the spices. I brought my roommate with me on a Sunday night, so it wasn't that busy. For our first time, the seafood was decent. Louisiana crawfish are not in season, so they had some other local species. We went with the build your own boil bag since my roommate and I don't like mussels much and every combo has mussels (you cannot mix and match or sub anything from combos). Also, some of the lower tier combos are only available during the week, excluded on weekends. Crawfish: 3/5 - The sauce is good, but the flavor did not penetrate the meat enough, so I was dipping the crawfish back into the sauce in the bag. Shrimp: 5/5 - Shrimp was definitely a highlight. They're a decent size and you can tell they are fresh because the meat was so sweet and they were cooked perfectly. Clams: 2/5 - I think they were manila clams, but I personally would not get them again. Some of my clams were really sandy/gritty. I had a couple clams that I spat out because I am pretty sure by the taste/smell they were dead before being cooked. Dungeonness Crab: 4.5/5 - Who doesn't love crab?? It was really good, but on the mote expensive side of pricing. Getting 1lb of the crab is equivalent to 3 halves of the body + legs + claw of the crab. Lobster: 4.5/5 - Lobster was really good. 1lb is equivalent to 3 tails, so this is also on the more expensive side. But the meat was good and sweet as well. Potato/sausage/corn combo: 4/5 - what is a seafood boil without this?? The combo was great, and soaked in the sauce of our choosing. The sausage comes as a full link vs being cut into slices. And the potatoes are also whole baby potatoes as well. All in all, yes, it was on the more expensive side, but the food was good and service was very attentive. They have TVs on every wall playing sports, so would be a good spot to chill. We got the free Cajun fries (Yelp offer), PNW boat, and the diggers. The fries were good, perfect amount of Cajun seasoning. The seafood boil sauce was pretty good as well, super flavorful, and I like that they gave an extra bowl of sauce. The seafood itself was okay. Most of the clams were empty, and maybe half of the mussels were closed. The crab was pretty good, but not the freshest I've had. The other fillings were okay - carrots, potatoes, and sausages. They soak up the yummy sauce which was good. The best thing was the corn. It was super juicy and sweet. For dessert we tried the fried bananas and beignets which were also okay. The fry on the fried bananas was good, but I would've preferred more powdered sugar and more banana lol. Most of the pieces were just hollow batter. The beignets were very doughy and were more like doughnuts than beignets. Also could've used more powdered sugar. The service was immaculate though, the server checked in on us multiple times and were super friendly and mindful. Don't like seafood? They also have other add ins, such as lil smokies sausages, corn on the cob, potatoes, and egg. There's four sauces to choose from: garlic butter, rajun cajun, bayou, and big easy (combination of all the sauces) and you can choose the level of spice from 0-3. I had a lot of fun at the all you can eat with my friends. We started with 3 pounds and got 1 pound rounds afterwards. I prefer snow crab over shrimp over crawfish, personally. Buy a lot of my friends loved the crawfish! We tried all 4 sauces, and they were all delicious! Personally, my favorite was the garlic butter. I also highly recommend their happy hour slush drinks. The Hennessy + coke slush was delicious and only $5. It definitely helps get all the buttery seafood down! Crawfish king charges an automatic 20% gratuity for dine-in, so keep that in mind. Fantastic seafood boil spot. Wanted to try this place for the longest time but could not come earlier so decided to try them for my husbands birthday lunch. We ordered a lb each of shrimp and crawfish with their mini combo (2 andouille sausages, 2 corns & 2 potatoes) with a side of plain bread. We chose the House Special Seasoning - Big Easy (Spice - 2 stars) and absolutely loved it. The shrimp & crawfish was tasty and fresh. The corn, andouille sausages and potatoes were very well marinated with their house seasoning which is fantabulous. We ordered a side of plain bread to soak up the goodness in the seasoning left behind. We were too stuffed to order any desserts or drinks. Service was quick and food was out pretty fast. We absolutely devoured our meal here. Parking can be a bit of a pain but there are a few public parking lots around as well. They do take reservations so book one for weekends but otherwise they have a huge seating area and it should not be a problem for large groups either. We cant wait to come back again! We made a same-day reservation through Yelp, and parked in their complimentary lot--it was great not having to drive around the ID to find street parking. The place was clean, and there are TVs around the restaurant, so this would be a great spot to watch a game. Our server, Victoria, was very nice and gave us a rundown of the menu. We were deciding between doing the 2 person "kayak" seafood boil, or getting some of their fried dishes. We decided to go with the boil because when are we ever going to go through the hassle of doing a boil at home? For our boil we selected the headless shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab in the bayou seasoning, spice level 2. Before the food came out they gave us all the necessary tools to get down--metal crackers, scissors, bibs, and plastic gloves. Everything was great! We also got a side of rice which I highly recommend doing since everything is so saucy. The spice level was perfect for me--I can handle some spice, but don't like it overwhelming spicy. We would probably pick the same 3 items next time. We left comfortably full. Also, their beers are super cold. I'm not an expert when it comes to seafood boils, but we enjoyed our meal. They were personable, funny, welcoming, inviting, made it to where you didn't want to leave or made it to where you wanted to come back asap! We took the family for Christmas and spent over $600, the servers were short in conversation and even had us bag up our own food. Honestly I have both positives and negatives to say about Crawfish King. This is pretty much the only seafood boil spot in central Seattle, and as a seafood boil lover I've ordered from here and come here a lot. I used to order through DoorDash years ago, back when their prices were extremely reasonable and I could get a lb of crab legs for $35 delivered to the comfort of my home. I've also taken groups here a lot over the years, because it's a fun experience to have the boils dumped on the table. They also offer colorful drinks in cute Mason jar cups. However, over the past few years the prices have gone up a LOT. The crab that used to be $35 is now over $60. I just can't justify it for one meal anymore. I also think the quality has gone down. I splurged for lobster tails recently and they were just so overcooked and did not taste fresh at all. I understand lobster tails are probably frozen anywhere in Seattle since they are coming from elsewhere, but they must've been old the way they tasted. The clams have been hit or miss, they are just so small, I never feel like I'm actually getting a full pound, maybe just a full pound of shells. Some positives that I have to give them credit for: I still love the head on shrimp, they are really sweet and juicy and I still enjoy getting them in the "create your own bag". I usually will get a side of waffle fries with my shrimp, it's a pretty decent portion of classic crispy waffle fries, so satisfying! I love their dipping sauces, the voodoo sauce and the fry sauce are bomb. Here in Washington there isn't much to choose from. So when we saw the review at crawfish king we knew we have to try it out! The food was delicious! they had different flavors and sauces that you could ask for. I am always down for a mix of Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic and whoooowheeee it was yummy in my tummy! I also was able to try their oyster shooters, which was so fresh and good! and their fries! it was a good mix of soggy fries and crunchy ones (I'm one of the weird ones who really likes soggy fries). This year the all-you-can-eat included snow crab legs in addition to crawfish and shrimp for a cheaper ticket price of $40. Some tables ordered AYCE ramen for $5. It was a full house for the 7 PM - 8:45 PM time slot with people lining up at the entrance well before its start time. Once seated, each person makes the initial request of up to three on the first bag with any combination of crawfish or shrimp by the pound, and snow crab legs by the cluster. After that, you can order additional one at a time, best as soon as your next order arrives to minimize wait times. Extras to include in the mix were corn, potato, lil smokies, and egg. Sauce options were Rajun Cajun, Garlic Butter, Bayou, and Big Easy with spice levels of zero to three. I stuck to the combination of all extras, Rajun Cajun, and level 2 spiceness. Because it was the second AYCE time slot, corn temporarily ran out during the middle of the event. The seafood was fresh, plentiful, and quite fun to peel despite its messiness. Do expect the seasoning to be heavy and quite salty though. Our additional orders were lost due to the chaos of the event, but were given extra bags and attention to compensate for the lost time. One cannot simply visit Seattle and not get a crab boil. Listen, everyone raves about Crab Pot by the pier but they have long waiting lines, first come first serve with no reservations, and very tiny portion sizes for expensive prices. Seriously, don't bother going there, please go to Crawfish King instead! Crawfish King offers the convenience of reserving a table online and, although we didn't take advantage of that service, we were seated promptly upon arrival. Super friendly staff brought us to our table quickly and the interior felt like a restaurant right off the docks. Menu is easy to navigate and QR codes are posted so you can easily find the market price of your desired seafood. We came right after an NFL game and we were so excited to eat, we ordered 2 lbs of Dungeness crab and a whole lobster (check out the size of that claw meat!) The combination sauce was great and the mild flavor had just the perfect amount of kick. Despite stuffing ourselves silly, we couldn't turn down some beignets for dessert, absolutely worth it. Service was amazing; at the end of our meal they provides heated wet towels for our hands and some Andes mints, our fave! Lastly, I believe based on our total bill, we were given the opportunity to spin the wheel. We didn't win any prizes but the staff was so nice and offered us macarons as consolation. Just be advised, gratuity of 20% is automatically added onto the bill, so make sure to keep an eye for that to avoid tipping twice.
