This is a new spot in the landing that Ive been eyeing at it has nice ambiance like you're in a chill island. Based in Hawaii this was their only Washington location. Menu was great as they offer all the shellfish included with your choice of seafood. Drinks were good and very strong. We ordered the snow crab combo that came with 1/2 pound of shrimp, muscles, and clams. Potato's, corn and sausage. With a pound of crawfish. In a spicy 4. It was good spice tons of garlic. Very strong. Super flavorful. Like that the menu offered a variety of options and market prices weren't bad per pound roughly about $15-18 per pound. Garlic fries and calamari was very delicious! Tried Kickin Kajun's lunch special seafood boil and was seriously impressed. I went with a Louisiana native, and we both agreed - it's not exactly traditional, but the heart and flavor are definitely there. We got the spicy boil with Da Mix (seasoned rub + garlic butter), and it was packed with snow crab, mussels, clams, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and rice. Everything was fresh, well-cooked, and coated in a rich, buttery, spicy sauce that tied it all together. It's one of the best seafood boils I've had in Washington. Food: had shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab legs. All the seafood we had was fresh and cooked just right. Sauce was pretty good too! Service: Went late on a Saturday night. Not too busy. Service was okay. I get the feeling our waitress was pretty new. Drank all our water before our food even arrived and the water was never refilled. The waitress was nice and checked in on us several times to make sure we put in any extra orders before the kitchen closed. Ambiance: great for friends. Okay for kids. My first time here and it was really good. The sauce and freshness of the seafood was on point. And the service was attentive and very helpful. The sauce on top of the rice was a hit and somewhat unique from many other seafood boil restaurants that do not serve rice. The restaurant is modern and casual. They provide bibs and gloves but I skipped the gloves because it's just easier to eat without the added challenges with oversized gloves. Give this place a try if you're in the area. Came here on a weekday after the lunch crowd. Nice casual decor going on and clean too. I got the po boy sandwich with cole slaw. The food was delivered hot and fresh and quick. I love the light coating on the catfish. All this was $13.99. My friend had the full po boy with gator and truffle fries. They were also very good. The waitress asked if we'd like tartar sauce instead of ketchup which we did. It was nice there was a choice. It's always a treat when a restaurant is generous with their portions! I have been meaning to try this place but every time I was at The Landing it was at least an hour before they opened (opens at 230p) so when I timed my lunch just right I pulled up right as they opened and ordered take out. I got the Shrimp Po'boy and fries, the sandwich was so big I could only eat half, loved the Cajun sauce on the sandwich as well. I also ordered catfish, it was soft fried and not much flavor, wasn't my favorite. Came here on a Friday evening and it was surprisingly empty. As a seafood lover I've been meaning to come here for some time and boy am I glad I did. I would go as far as to say this is my new favorite seafood boil spot. Seafood boil places are a dime a dozen these days, so when I say it is my new favorite- it is because it checks off all of my own personal boxes for what I like. I thought the prices were fairly competitive for seafood and drinks. The seafood, in particular crab, was as fresh as you can get and cooked well. It was so good that I forgot to take a photo (EDIT: My partner took photos to save the day). The only thing I could nitpick at is the potato was ever so slightly undercooked, but it may be a preference thing. So given that the food is fresh and prices are good- what sets this place apart for me are their menu options. For me, I have to have crab, but I don't only want crab. My main gripe with most seafood boil places is that getting everything I want ends up costing a fortune. But here they have a crab combo that includes clams, mussels, shrimp, potato, sausage, corn. It's literally everything I want already included. Also, if you aren't sharing with another person, they have a smaller combo that looks like the perfect amount of food for 1. I believe it was for $35(dinner price). I appreciated the spice level options. I've been to several places where their max spicy had no spice at all. In fairness I have a decently high spice tolerance. I will say their spicy is not very spicy for me, but they offer 5x,10x, 20x spicy. I got the 10x on the side which I will order on the food next time with 20x on the side. The 10x is not nearly as scary as it sounds. It's a bit smoky and the spice level is very enjoyable. The ube melona cocktail in a bag is definitely worth getting. I think it was like $12? Refreshing and boozy. The only item I would 86 for next time would be the oysters. They had a half dozen for $14 special, which is pretty good price wise, but I'm pretty particular about my oysters and they just weren't doing it for me. All in all, the food was awesome, service was great, cocktails were fun, and the menu is set just right (for me). I will most definitely return. read more

Food was amazing, even for delivery, it was still pretty hot. They provided napkins and gloves. The gloves were pretty loose and got in the way so I switched out for the gloves I had at home. Chowder was delicious, lobster and crab was juicy. Would wish they could provide us crab cracker or a seafood fork/pick like some places, and tighter gloves. Would def order more often. read more

Wow. Can't believe we've never been here before, but we will definitely come again. The staff were amazing - always coming by to check on us and to answer questions. The drinks - unnaturally good given what you might expect! The food - wow. It's simply delicious. We loved every dish. We loved all of the flavors. My son likes to eat crab every year on his birthday. We usually eat it the same spot but this year he wanted to try a new place. I unfortunately was not impressed. That is the most we have ever spent and the smallest amount we have ever got in a crab boil bag. Not sure how it's meant for 2 people. Like 3-3 potatoes, 2 pieces of corn and like 4 crab legs with barely any meat. Our order was wrong twice, including my 9 years old food that never got put in. Our bill was $185. $195 with tip. I would only order their regular menu items, Dungeness crab or shrimp by itself. I wouldn't order the $88 crab Boil. I wouldn't go back but my son would because he didn't see the bill. It's just unfortunate to spend almost $200 and not even feed 3 people. My youngest enjoyed his chicken strips and fries it was really fresh. Also our crab boil had like No flavor! The meal comes with rice but it's dry without any soy sauce! I just had to get over it. I rarely try new places unless they have a ton of good reviews but it was his birthday so he picked and that was not worth my money. I woke hard to save for his bday and that $88 needs to be better. I basically didn't eat because I didn't eat. I just ate the shrimp since there wasn't enough crab at all for all of us and I ended up spending another $55 ON MORE because the $88 was enough for only 1 person. read more

Came here late one evening to grab a quick bite after a movie. We ordered the garlic Cajun crayfish and mussels. I was disappointed that the crayfish wasn't fresh and lacked flavor (other than the kick ass garlic sauce). The meat itself tasted funny. I guess you can't compare PNW with New Orleans crayfish). I was disappointed with the mussels as they were the fresh water kind. Plus they didn't seem like they were cleaned externally very well. Popped in for lunch, good and affordable options. We opted to each do the 1/2lb seafood rice plate that comes with 2 sides (corn, 2 pieces of potato or 2 pieces of sausage). I got the head on shrimp with house sauce and level 2 spice. There were 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt generous for 14 bucks. Overall, the flavors were good- spicy, salty and the shrimp was just sweet enough. Interior is clean and service is friendly. We had the pleasure of stopping by on their soft launch. We called and came in right before last call and they were extremely welcoming and accommodating! Here on a trip from California and had to stop by! Kickin Kajun is definitely worth stopping at and enjoying! We were seated immediately and treated amazing even though we came in really close to their closing! The ambiance is great! 10/10 recommend! We came in with a party of six and the staff was incredibly friendly! We ordered a pound of shrimp and the crawfish combo! Someone in our group doesn't really eat fish but the menu had plenty of non seafood dishes, he ordered Cajun wings "made to protection, a cross between juicy and the perfect amount of dryness!" His words exactly! The quality of the shrimp, crawfish, mussels, and clams were there! Incredibly flavorful and it superseded my expectations! I highly recommend! Let me start this off by saying I'm not a Cajun aficionado, but we saw this place the last time we were at the Landing and wanted to check it out. Well, we did... so we can check that box. *WAITSTAFF* The best part of our visit was the waitstaff. Our server was very sweet. Of course, we were also pretty much the only customers, but still, credit where credit is due! *FOOD* This was the most disappointing part for me. I was surprised to not find anything I would think of as Cajun on the menu (again, see disclaimer--I'm no expert!). The menu mostly consisted of regular seafood: lobster, crab, oysters... stuff you'd find in any regular seafood restaurant. After getting home, I Googled "top 5 most popular Cajun dishes" and here they are, along with whether or not this restaurant serves it (at least, to the best of my recollection--their menu isn't online): 1. Gumbo - NO! 2. Red Beans and Rice - NO! 3. Jambalaya - NO! (I even asked the waitress just in case I was missing it--this is what I wanted!) 4. Andouille Sausage - YES 5. Boiled Crawfish - YES (Seasonal, but they had lots of crab and lobster) I ended of deciding between coconut shrimp or catfish and went with the catfish figuring it would be mostly likely to have a Cajun flair (I don't think it did). It included fries, and while I traditionally will go for truffle fries or garlic fries (both of which they offer), I went for the Cajun fries. They were okay, but nothing special. *PRICE* The prices felt high. A group actually came in, sat down, perused the menu for a few minutes and then muttered about the high prices and walked out! All in all, it felt like we paid sit-down restaurant prices for fast food-level food. Contributing to that was the vibe. It doesn't feel like the place knows whether it wants to be upscale or casual. So they opened a Kickin Cajun and I was super excited to try it. So my husband, my daughter and I, went in to taste all the food. The place looked bright, clean, and my daughter loved the giant crab on the wall. We were greeted by a very quiet server who sat us at a 6 top but then came back and asked us if we could wait till they bussed off a table four. We finally sat down, and they handed us the menus. They weren't very many people in there, but for some reason there was a lot of chaos going on with the serving team. We noticed that tables around us were asking for their server and if they could order. It also took a little bit for someone to come to our table as well. I felt like the serving team was new? We ordered some drinks, they do have a full bar, however, the featured beer, which was faced dust, was not available, because Someone hadn't hooked up the tap. So we ordered a different beer and a cocktail for myself. When my drink came, they were red floating things and then a vodka soda probably not normal. I asked for them to exchange the drink for new one. So far zero for two. We then ordered some food for my daughter and she was starving and continue to look at the menu for what we wanted to eat. I must say the chicken tenders and fries came out very quick and they were super hot. Tasty as well. We decided to order the snow crab leg boil with the mixture of sauces, a French baguette, and a cup of clam chowder. The clam chowder was delicious although it came in a takeout container which kind of confused us. But I guess it went along with the rest of the table setting as the beer came in a plastic glass. And there was a soda machine which the servers were pulling from right next to us. I felt like we were in a fast food joint. The silverware was even plastic. As for the food, I must say that was one of the more tastiest boils I've had with the mixed sauce I sure as heck sopped up the sauce with the French baguette. What I will say is the amount of seafood we got was not worth $67. We got one cluster of snow crab, about seven muscles, 5 whole shrimp and four clams. As well as two corn niblets and two sausages, sliced. Other restaurants charge around $45-$50 for that amount of seafood. As we sat and stared at our food however, we noticed we didn't have any silverware. So we asked the server for silverware and she brought one spoon. We asked her for more and she brought a knife and a pair of scissors. I am not sure if the server knows what is needed or if there's a protocol to deliver certain silverware to eat, seafood, or to cut potatoes. Overall, the food was good, the service needs a lot of help, and not exactly sure I like my dining establishments to feel like a fast food joint so the plastic silverware should probably be silverware. But again, the food was really good! The French baguette was pretty awesome, light, airy, and crispy chewing in the center. It reminded me of a bahn mi bun. read more
