    Seafood boil

Can I just say how nice it was for my daughter's boyfriend to bring this home for us! I haven't ate much seafood boil, but he really likes the Crawfish House in Renton. I'm glad that I was able to have this for dinner after a long day of work. They brought home seafood boil with snow crab, corns, shrimps, and crawfish. I believe the sauce was Cajun, garlic butter which was recommended to him by the server. Even though this was brought home, it was still yummy! Which is very nice of them and it was good like they said! I'm not sure how things look like in the inside or outside, but I will try to visit them soon so I can give you more details on that.

My family and I are visiting from San Diego and we absolutely enjoyed our dinner here at Crawfish house. The food was delicious, the women working were amazing (shoutout Evyvon), and it was surprisingly CHEAP for ALL the food we got. Two 3 lb boils with crab, shrimp, crawfish, corn, sausage, rice, fried catfish/fries, fried gizzards, shrimp, teriyaki chicken & rice, AND cheesy garlic bread. Definitely come here.

Have been here 20+ times since 2010....this is the first time I'm giving it a review lmao. Every visit has been solid. A restaurant that can stay open this long and consistent in quality every time is a staple in the community.

Really great experience here. Popped in around 5ish and the place as pretty empty, maybe 2 other tables but as time went on it steadily began to fill. Service is super friendly. Restaurant itself is open and provides good space between tables / patrons. Little dirty but honestly cleaner than a lot of other places. Big menu and lots sounded good. Ordered the 1/2 oyster po'boy and yuca fries but was definitely tempted by the soft shell crap option. I like that you can also choose between all the fries (regular, tots, Cajun, yuca and yam). Also tried the dirty rice roll, not sure why I was expecting a sushi type roll but what came out was incredible. Think a massive effort roll full of delicious dirty rice but mostly meat and the sauce was sweet and full of crawfish. Every bite was good and it was so comforting. That sauce was also incredible on everything, I ended up dipping my yuca fries in to it. The po'boy bread was thick and super crunchy- so much so that it actually tore my mouth up but the oysters were fat and hefty, making for a really good bite. The fries were dense and fried to perfection. Next time I'd order a side of fries and just pour that crawfish sauce on it to make my own entree.

The staff here is amazing. I love the tango sauce but I always feel like it's a hit or miss here. The White Center location is definitely imo. Unfortunately whenever I come here i do have to wait really long. My dad and I ended up waiting over an hour to get our food. Although we did have yummy drinks to keep us occupied, it's a pretty long wait. Clams were huge and delicious but I felt like the crawfish was a bit overcooked. And the shrimp with head on seems to always be yummy and consistent here for me.

The Renton location of the Crawfish House is relatively new-ish. The restaurant is well-sized, but the parking lot was surprisingly limited even though the adjacent business was closed then. We were lucky to have grabbed a spot that someone vacated. When we arrived, a huge group was done eating and otherwise, only 2 or 3 tables were occupied. Even so, the two wait persons were quite busy. Maybe it is still growing pains in managing the restaurant. The décor is basically TV screens, several of them. I have never been to the other location, so I don't know if they aim to be a sports bar, too. A piece of paper at the door announced no crawfish. Ah well. We decided against ordering seafood boil because of it. We ordered ahead of two other tables who sat down after us. All three tables received our food at the exact same time at a substantially longer wait for our table. This tells me they are batch-cooking in the kitchen, grouping orders together. I hope they change to cook per order. Our fries visually looked good but were limp upon biting. They could have used more frying time. We took home most of the yam fries to air-fry some more. The Food: Catfish Basket with yam fries, $12.99 - 3.5 Stars Half Soft-Shell Crab po boy sandwich with yam fries, $8.99 - 3.5 Stars Oyster po boy sandwich with yam fries, $13.99 - 3.5 Stars The treatment of each seafood is similar. They are all well-seasoned and well fried. All the seafoods are 4 stars. All the yam fries are 3 stars because they need more cooking time. I decided to round up to 4 stars because their prices are reasonable.

I've been going to the original restaurant in white center. Now since they open one in renton, I love it even more. Easy parking in front and back. Plenty of space, clean and more upgraded version from the white center one. This one is very specious. This time we ordered craffish chowder, Louisiana crawfish, clam and headless shrimps in House special seasoning, and we also ordered any 2 combo of Fried calamari and Fried mushrooms, soooo good and lastly, we got Smothered Catfish. And yes, we are so full!! Ps: the owner and servers are super friendly.

I been waiting for this place for a while now since I really enjoyed the food in white center. The rating is more of a 3.5 right now but I'm hoping it's because they are new that they will improve. There was about 3-4 groups when we got there so it wasn't too busy. It was also happy hour so everything was $1 off except for the boil. The place is not too loud so it was nice and I like the openess of the restaurant making it bright. Foodwise: 1lb mussels + 1lb shrimp --- fresh, plump and yummy. Wish that potato and corn would be included but it's not, unless you order crawfish Crawfish corn chowder --not sure if they chopped up the crawfish too fine but did not get any crawfish at all. Soft shell crab plate with Cajun fries -- pretty good need more fries though Raw oysters: fresh, but needs better shucking, there was a lot of oyster shells remnant which makes it hard to eat Service: people were nice and came by to refill our water and asked how our food was. However, food came out very slowly. We ordered a second plate of the oyster and that one took soo long that the waiter keeps coming by asking if we were waiting for the check...it wasn't that busy so not sure why the slowness. Overall, I'll come back later as I do like the food but maybe give it a few months for them to improve the service.

Recently visited Crawfish House this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised to see that it is Viet-owned! The Renton location is relatively new, since it's been open for less than a month, and the interior design was beautiful. I learned from our waitress that the owner worked on the walls himself! I really loved the service, because we were provided plenty of gloves, fun bibs, and paper towels and felt very welcomed to dine in! Everyone was attentive of our needs, and the seafood tasted fresh! The Cajun fries were crispy and came with a Cajun-Mayo sauce that complemented it very well. It's my favorite appetizer, and I would definitely get it again. The shrimp was meaty and received many compliments from my table. The House sauce was savory and it seasoned the seafood very well, however, it was extremely buttery. If the butter was cut down a bit, it would've been perfect! We also ordered sodas for our meal, but they were all flat. For additional sides, we paid $2.50 for 4 extra sausages and potatoes, but we didn't expect them to just be small slices. Despite that, I would say this is one of the better Cajun places in Washington, and I would love to come again!

Crawfish $14.99/ lb. Order at least one lb/person along with other things!

First time at this restaurant and I really didn't know what to expect. You'd think it would be a Louisiana type of seafood boil but instead it was like an Asian version of a Louisiana seafood boil and it was AMAZING! You order the type of seafood you want by the pound. Everything from crawfish to clams to mussels to shrimp and different types of crab and then you pick a sauce. The house sauce was crazy good and the whole reason I'll be coming back! It was fantastic on the seafood and even more amazing on the corn and sausage. You should definitely order at least one pound of crawfish per person and other things as well or you'll be hungry. We ordered soft shell crabs and gizzards for appetizers, yum! I would also order extra corn and sausage as part of the boil. It comes with just a few pieces with the crawfish but you'll definitely want more! Also, be sure to use their bibs and gloves. This is messy business so I'd also suggest dressing in something that you wouldn't mind getting dirty ( just to be safe). This is definitely a must try for everybody's list!

When I heard that there was an Ivar's close to our hotel in Renton, WA, I almost thought it'd be Ivar's Renton Landing, which probably would have been appropriate given that it was near The Landing in Renton. But no, this was no fancy restaurant; it was simply a seafood bar. That's not to say it's inferior to the fancy restaurant as I don't think the two can be compared. It'd be kind of like comparing Pappadeaux Seafood Restaurant to Sea Island Shrimp House, IYKYK, but I digress. Ivar's Seafood Bar in Renton is located within Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, which is within walking distance of The Landing. I was walking with a groupmate after spending the day* out and about, and even though we were planning to eat dinner at Ivar's, we actually walked inside Kidd Valley first and almost thought Ivar's was farther away. I mean, it was, but only a few steps farther away lol. When we stepped in, there was a cashier who was ready to take our order, but considering it was our first time at Ivar's, at least the Seafood Bar, we needed time to decide what to get. We both had the same idea of ordering an Ivar's Famous Chowder and a Fish & Chips, although we both would have preferred grilled over fried fish. Of course, the chowder includes the clam, but I didn't know that they had Wild Alaska Salmon Chowder as well! Oh?! Sign me up for that please! Their chowders come in four different sizes: Cup, Bowl, Tanker (4 servings), and Bread Bowl. On average, the Wild Alaska Salmon is a couple dollars more than the clam chowder, but I was more than willing to try the Wild Alaska Salmon this time around. I've had my fair share of clam chowder, but don't recall the last time I ever had a salmon chowder, so I went with that, choosing Bowl as my size of choice. The salmon chowder came with not one, but two packets of Zesta saltine crackers, which I put to good use. For the Fish & Chips, they also had Wild Alaska Salmon as an option, which surprised me because I had never seen salmon as an option for Fish when it comes to Fish & Chips. However, when in Rome, or in this case, Renton lol; I had to keep the Wild Alaska Salmon theme going. Different choices of fish come in different numbers of pieces; the Wild Alaska Salmon comes in 4 pieces, which was more than the Panko Crusted Cod and the Wild Pacific Halibut. I also ordered a large fountain drink, which was 25% more than a regular fountain drink. Unfortunately, I didn't see an option for a zero sugar drink, so I settled for a Diet Dr. Pepper. Even for a seafood bar, the pricing isn't cheap. For the salmon chowder bowl, salmon & fries, and the fountain drink, I spent around $30 for all this, though that did include an overcharge. Keep on reading. Was it worth the ~$30? Yes, but not totally I would say. While I liked the overall taste of both the salmon chowder as well as the salmon & chips, I thought there could have been more flavor in both. I didn't think the Wild Alaska Salmon Chowder was that much of an upgrade compared to Clam Chowder, but if you haven't had it before, it's worth trying once. Also, the batter of the fried salmon was overpowering in taste compared to the salmon itself. I'm glad salmon was an option for the fish, but I don't think I would have been missing out on too much had I chosen the Panko Crusted Cod or the Wild Pacific Halibut instead, especially since you can get as much tartar and/or cocktail sauce as you want. The chips of the Fish & Chips weren't nearly as crispy as I would have preferred. Did I mention the tartar and cocktail sauces? They have five sauce dispensers on the counter across from the register where you can fill up on these sauces for your fish & chips or whatever other entree you choose; three of these dispensers are for tartar albeit one sweet. If you order to go, they have to-go sauces available at the front counter. There are also a couple bottles of vinegar sauces that you can squirt into the cups if you'd like to try those instead. Now, I would have given 4 stars for this Seafood Bar, but I didn't realize until after I returned to my hotel that I got charged for both a regular and a large drink! I did say regular at first, which was my bad, but I was only given the large. I just didn't think that I'd get charged for both, especially since the cashier only handed me one cup. Because of this overcharge, I'm docking an additional star here. Overall, Ivar's Seafood Bar is worth trying if you're looking for a no-frills seafood meal. However, check your receipt before leaving and don't get overcharged like I did! * My visit was back in November when I was taking a hiatus from posting reviews, hence why I posted this review rather late. And Bonnie, when you reply to this review, there's no need to try to rectify this shortcoming as it wouldn't make sense to do so being from out of state.

Good Lord it was the longest 45 minutes of my life with two kids in the back of my car, we had never tried Popeyes before and I told them after the soccer game we would try it now onto what is important .....the food.... Everything we had was amazing. I'm not sure what the other reviews were talking about with poorly seasoned food or undercooked but everything we ordered was awesome. We ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes, chicken tenders, a regular chicken sandwich, coleslaw, biscuits, and it all tasted really good. Customer service.... That is to be desired. The gentleman at the window had probably had a long day, and I'm going to give him grace for that. The fact that I had already waited in line for 45 minutes I was going to check my order after he handed it to me before I drove off because the lobby is closed. You have no other option or recourse after you leave. He handed me my food, and I patiently sat there and went through my order to make sure I had gotten Everything. Low and behold they were missing two items. I let them know that, and he just said to me. "hand me the bag". He took it back through the window and unpacked the bag again to verify that I was in fact, right. He then opened the window and said so you're missing blank and blank and I said yes, he put them in the bag along with the other food, and handed me my bag back. When I got home, I realized he forgot to put my sauces back in the bag but at this point I was already home. Cost: I think it's pretty expensive for a fast food chicken place. I spent nearly $60 to get 45 minutes of my life taken away and attitude at the window.
