One star just to comment! My Husband went there yesterday 4/26/2026. He went in for a diet soda and later after service a meal. This was his first time! THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! A young g lady gave him a me ur (lunch). The other lady came and brought him a different menu. Husband thought, no problem...I just want something to eat! He waited around for 20 min for his soda and NEVER GOT ANYMORE SERVICE! Listen Riverbend, PLEASE stop this racial activity!!! It is not attractive AND I'm putting the word out that your place sucks! Went in Saturday night, there were 3 of us, all three meals were fantastic. The ahi was best I've had in a long time and the "not so" Diablo steak bites were fantastic. Our server recommended and I don't usually go for spice. They were EXCELLENT I was almost licking the sauce. We used to go to this restaurant before it changed hands. It was a fave! We've tried Riverbend on a couple of visits!! The staff is friendly and attentive! Very helpful in recommending entrees. We recently came in Saturday evening. We sat outside and enjoyed the new sun sails covering the patio. It's beautiful out there. Our server recommended the Surf & Turf. She had ordered it that day and she said everyone who ordered it was very pleased. We tried it to share. It was very amazing! Great blue cheese sauce, delicious shrimp! I've yet to find a go-to drink. Hubs of course orders a beer. I like a great scratch margarita, or something citrusy. Still waiting to land that part. Overall, would recommend. Casual atmosphere. Very disappointed. Want to like this place but customer service is lacking. It was great when Half Lion was here. Been here a few times since the change. Went today, we sat ourself like the sign instructed. There was an abundance of servers and not too many customers. I went to another table to get the drink menu thing. Made eye contact with several servers. A server walked past us to someone whom just walked in, we've been here a good 7 to 10 minutes. No "someone will be with you in a few" out nothing. Staff talked amongst themselves. After do many minutes of no communication or service, we left. Other times we've been here wasn't too different outside of one time. There was an African American woman working whom was very attentive, very nice. Don't recall her name, just know she has another job at a bar in Des Moines. The food wasn't bad, that's why we've been back a few times. Today just took the cake. Nothing like being in a restaurant while employees talk amongst themselves, look at you but don't acknowledge you. Ok, rant over. read more

This is a new bar that soft opened not all that long ago. They kept with the decor of Half Lion so it's familiar if you've been. I popped in on Sunday morning and there was only one other person. Service was friendly and prompt. I went with a blueberry mojito, which was pretty damn good. For lunch I went with the mushroom mulligan flatbread. It was lukewarm, one note, bland, and the mushrooms really should have been tossed in the compost. You couldn't pay me to eat another one. My dinning partner when with the seafood chowder, which was "pretty good (with a shrug)" I noticed that the bread that came along with it was so hard that it was inedible. I know they're in soft open and there are kinks to work out, but I really don't see myself coming back. read more

We loved going here before it changed so didn't hesitate twice to trying the new place out. Inside, they didn't change much or anything at all. They do have daily specials and signature cocktails. Overall, if you're hungry and in the area, sure. But not a place I'd go out of my way to eat at. The food is basic, but decent. The calamari rings were half soggy, half crunchy with less than a handful portion. For $16, I'd pass. They do give you pretty generous sized fried jalapeños. My bf ordered a steak and chili. The steak and chili was good. Veggies still had some bite to it. Flavor was basic overall, nothing to rave much about. The mashed potatoes was his least favorite. Super dry and chunky. read more

Like to stop after work, weather permitting. It's quiet and the grounds are beautiful. Today, I've gone in twice to ask for a server. Realizing they are busy. Outside, right now there is one table. One server came out, didn't look my way got her tip off an empty table and walked back inside. I've been here, now 20 minutes with no one even attempting to make any eye contact. In fact, no one, other than the one server, has come outside. SO DISAPPOINTED. If I didn't love the scenery and quiet I would never return. The golfer that was sitting at this table, got up and left. They brought his drink about 5 minutes later. I was advised that I needed to check with the desk next time. I asked a server before I went out, if it was ok to sit out there? Yes. Each server is assigned a section. Therefore, whoever this section belongs to, the server isn't checking. (I've been in the restaurant business for over 50 years and still am an active cook in a very large commercial kitchen. I'm 75, I know good customer service. Instead of reprimanding me, the server did wrong. I'm so sorry we missed you and you had to wait. Instead of accepting that THEY screwed up SHE put the blame on me. WOW, way to give great customer service. It's very hot out today and I planned on ordering dinner, to go. Yet, it would take too long, I'd have to go back inside blah blah blah. Having been told about their Thursday steak day promotion, we decided to stop in for dinner on our way to the Museum of Flight. Arriving at, I kid you not, 5:01 PM, we're told that we don't qualify for happy hour pricing, meaning that our beers were $7.50 rather than $5.00 - no big, but y'know, first impressions? Anyway, we order our beers from the waitperson (who has pretty much no knowledge of what they have on tap) and then, once the beers arrive, we place our steak orders - one medium and the other medium well. The food is delivered about 15 minutes later by a very busy and hard-working busboy. The steaks are of the relatively tasteless tavern grade type and are both done medium. The veg on the side is good and the fries are...well, fries. We now want steak sauce and ice waters, so we hail a different waitperson to ask for them, as our first waitperson is nowhere to be seen. A *third* waitperson drops off the A1 and, eventually, the water. (Did I mention that it wasn't busy? Like less than 1/4 capacity not busy?) We eat and it's fine, but nothing special. After another 20 minutes, we're done and the busboy comes by to clear our plates. Five minutes later, our original waitperson makes an appearance to take our payment - and, because she doesn't seem to understand how the credit card processor works, ends up awarding herself a 25% tip - not maliciously, mind you, but I had to call twice the next day to get a partial refund. (The hardworking busboy got a five spot from me on the way out the door, BTW, since he did the bulk of the service work.) Overall, an average meal at a fair enough price (the non-steak day price of $28 would have been ridiculous) in a golf course restaurant that's really little more than a coffee shop/bar with a pleasant view. If that's what you want, cool - but there was nothing exciting or memorable here that will lure us back anytime soon. read more

We'd recommend this place to everyone! The venue is new, fresh, and spotless! There are plenty of large TVs everywhere, giving you a perfect view of any game from anywhere in the restaurant. The service has been excellent. Every visit, the staff is always friendly, helpful, and cheerful. The menu is impressive, and the food consistently tastes great. The only concern is that it doesn't seem to have a large following. We hope it's just because it's still new, but every time we visit--whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner--the place seems to have only a few patrons during our time there. Again, I'm hopeful this is just temporary because we'd love to see it become popular. We really enjoy this place and sincerely hope it succeeds. read more

We used to frequent this location when it was Half Lion so wanted to try out the new restaurant. My husband and I stopped in for date night. We sat outside looking over the golf course. We started with the steak bites, I had mahi mahi tacos and my husband had the mushroom burger. Food was overall good. I wish the tacos were served with tortilla chips and maybe some crema or sauce, just felt like it was missing something. Food presentation was nothing to write home about, could use some improvement considering the price you are paying. Service was friendly! Not a busy day for them, lots of empty tables. Took almost 30 minutes just to get our bill, even after we had to ask for it. We were excited to see a new restaurant had opened in this space and decided to have dinner Thursday night. They have outdoor seating, which is a plus! They have added some sun sails, so you could choose sun or shade. We ordered the Wagyu skewers and the French Dip sandwich. The skewers are listed as a starter....the portion is very generous! Two skewers perfectly prepared with garlic mashed potatoes and Diane sauce. They were excellent! The French dip sandwich came on an excellent roll, the roast beef was thinly sliced came with a great au jus and horseradish and a choice of fries or salad. Our server, Marissa was prompt, friendly and gave good suggestions. We will definitely return! This space has had many occupants, I hope the community will support this restaurant! read more

I haven't done a yelp review in awhile, but came here early evening before a dinner reservation for a drink, and to check out the newly opened space. Our server was super adorable, I think her name was Alexa?.. helped us immediately, with menus, and water. We ordered drinks, and decided to also order the baked avocado since it looked really good coming out. This was soo delicious, feta, almonds, etc served warm with crostinis. I want to go back just to order that as my dinner. Also, the salads around us looked soo good, and my martini, and my husbands Jameson were perfection! If we didn't have reservations for his birthday dinner elsewhere, we would have just stayed! Alexa was the sweetest, and took the time to explain the history and new beginning of Riverbend. I really wanted to like this restaurant. Here are the pros. 1 staff was friendly and attentive. 2. Good vibe and great music. Unfortunately, those are really the only pros. Cons - had the calamari appetizer which was itty-bitty tiny pieces of calamari deep fried in a massive amount of breading with almost zero flavor. My friend had the fish and chips which was haddock not even cod or halibut. Although the fish was very light, it had no flavor at all. Not sure why you wouldn't serve cod or halibut for fish and chips in the PNW. We also ordered a wedge salad with steak. Again with no flavor. The steak was cooked fine but the cut of meat wasn't great and Zero flavor. Also ordered the loaded baked potato, which was just a plain old baked potato, but at least they cooked it in foil. It was very disappointing. They will need to up their food game if they are going to survive there. read more

Love having a restaurant at Riverbend, again! So many different owners over the years. This one's a keeper. They have added big glass doors to the putting green side of the restaurant which can open if we're having good weather. Not today, but still a great view from inside. Helpful and nice staff and from what we've tried, really good menu and chefs as well. Better than Half Lion (at this location) Appeals to a more creative palate but still has great "man food". Great atmosphere. Still working some bugs out but better every time we come. Been here 5-6 times. Love it! ....and sitting outside in the summer, or watching putting practice all year is great.
