First of all, I want to give a bit of my background. I have worked in many upscale restaurants and worked with many top chefs, which include Puck, Thomas Keller, and other top chef. I have also owned and managed many restaurants as well. Our waitress was very nice, pleasant and accommodating, however, when she took our order, she did not ask how we wanted our food served. WE order an appetizer and an entree, which I assumed would come to the table one at a time. They both came together, a little unusual, but OK. The $60 king salmon was overcooked and dry, but still very good. The waitress asked how everything was and we addressed our concern about the salmon. Then without a question if we were finished with our plates she picked them up and ran off with them... It happened so fast we were taken aback, because we were not finished with the dish, there was plenty of crab and rice pilaf left on the dish. Finally, it was a special occasion for my wife's birthday, and I had requested that a candle be placed on any dessert she ordered , and that did not happen either. I have had several friends recommend the Copperleaf Restaurant, and frankly I was a bit disappointed for a fine dining establishment. Thank you for reading this,

The outside was nice too as you could enjoy the weather in a relaxing patio area with nature, manicured green grass, trees, with the sounds of the trickling fountain. They also had a bar area for that very casual, louder vibe to just talk and/or catch a game on the TV. We went with the dining area and Julissa was our server and she took very good care of us. She was courteous, attentive, and thoughtful. She recommended a few of her favorites when we asked her for suggestions. Charcoal Grilled Pork Chop: coconut-ginger braised collard greens, grilled spring onion, pork jus, wasabi butter (4/5). The Double cut portion was cooked to medium. It was tender, juicy, and the juices had a sweetness to it. The wasabi butter was good and not overpowering. I'd order this again. Superfood Salad: white bean hummus, quinoa, kale, carrots, blueberries, golden berries, cashews, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, avocado, herbs, feta, lemon-sesame vinaigrette (4/5). My wife really enjoyed her salad. I admit it was full of good ingredients but a tad bit heavy-handed on the dressing. Don't get me wrong the vinaigrette was delicious. Banana Bread Pudding (5/5) - Moist, crisp on the edges, and smothered in warm caramel sauce - this decadent bread pudding paired with vanilla ice cream was absolute perfection! Then the mango martini arrived, late in the meal. I do not grasp the pacing failures. They were not busy. Plenty of empty tables. But the scrawny wings and inept pacing ... minus two stars. The server said they serve half and half with coffee and they don't have whole milk just 2% and if we we wanted anything else she could pour water in it. Normally this banter would be fine. This wasn't banter. She was annoyed. We stuck with the half and half. We looked at the menus that were COATED with sticky stuff all over the plastic and falling apart. It looked like a studen'ts notebook after a full year in grade school. We ordered a strawberry lemonade. Normally, my daughter will drink anything. It tasted like chemicals. Since two of us ordered two different types of benedict, the server came with sharper knives. She then WIPED THEM CLEAN with a towel hanging from her pocket. 20 min. later we got our order. Well 2 of us did. Mine was the wrong item so had to send back and they had to make me the correct one. No apologies from our server. We then had to ask for a third place setting. The server got it and when my daughter was using the benedict knife, the server took it FROM HER HANDS and gave it to our friend since she was eating french toast. The food was not good. The french toast tasted like dry bread coated in eggs. In other words, it hadn't soaked up any of the batter. My benedict's hollanaise sauce was in fact, some weird cheez-it mixture... it was orange and congealed. Let me add that it was a Monday at 9:30AM. It was NOT busy. The host and hostess are phenomenal! When you enter, not only are they very inviting and making you feel at home, they also offer everyone in the family champagne and for the young ones, sparkling juice. Who I assume is the manager, she is all over the place and in my mind, she works harder than she should. She was expediting, greeting, cleaning, refilling utensils, replacing chopsticks on the table, etc. I feel her team should stop talking about life at work and do a better job at performing their roles in this business. Because of the table service disappointment three times, I think we will take a pause and not return for a while. The tofu being cold in the udon was a bit off-putting as well. The yakitori, takoyaki and scallop tacos were absolutely delicious. My boyfriend loved the beef in his beef udon and looks forward to ordering their gyudon. I want to order the oyakodon for sure next time. Unfortunately, our experience was a little more conflicting than what we had expected. I ordered the steelhead with potatoes and seasonal vegetables, while Dan ordered the crab mac and cheese. We started with the crab toast and paired everything with a Coke for me and their Tropical Tea for Dan. The drinks were good, and the crab toast was even better. Dan really enjoyed the crab mac and cheese as well. Unfortunately, my entrée fell short of expectations. The steelhead itself was good, but the rice substituted for the potatoes was hard and clearly undercooked, and the broccoli was also quite hard. The rice was offered as a substitute because they were out of potatoes, and I have absolutely no issue with a substitution--especially in an airport. But when you're paying $120+ for a meal, the sides should still be properly prepared. One other thing to keep in mind if you're traveling: we had our carry-on and personal bags with us. We were asked not to place our belongings on the nearby tables. We noticed that guests seated at some of the surrounding tables were able to use nearby tables and high chairs for their belongings, so the policy felt a little inconsistent from where we were sitting. Overall, our review reflects our experience, which unfortunately left us disappointed and feeling like the meal didn't live up to the hype we had seen online. The fish was good, the starter was good, Dan enjoyed his entrée, and the service itself wasn't the overall main issue. It was primarily the quality of my sides and the overall value that left us feeling let down. That said, maybe it was simply a bad day for them. We're not saying this is necessarily representative of every visit, but based on our experience, we left feeling pretty disappointed after having such high expectations.
