Come out to tournament 8/19/2025 . The tournament did not start until 8:30 due to electrical problem . So the board was a hot or miss. The TD was so upset as everyone is missing when it is there turn to play. The TD is not happy because no one is reporting scores. (I agree (Gabe Wright) was here at 6pm told it would start at 730.. didn't start tell approx. 830 840. After winning first match having to wait for over an hour. If there is going to be sponsored tournaments there needs to be a regulated time of who is in and out and absolutely no late night add ons. (It is unfair to people that paid money too just be told internet is messed up.) All tournaments should have an active board not A digital online board) This is personal opinion but my experience was unfair and unfun. Hope that someone can run a tournament soon . read more

What really stood out at Good Time Ernie's were the employees and locals who have been around there forever. All times we've gone, they have been so friendly and they will not hesitate to have a conversation with you especially if it's about the claw machine. I won a unicorn squishmallow one time, so cool. My wife and I stopped into Ernie's for a quick beer to pass time while in the area. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. It is clear that Ernie's is a local dive bar with friendly regulars. Every place needs a dive bar to hang at from time-to-time. Indoors one will find friendly staff, TV's, dart and pool tables. Outdoor seating is also available. The on-site kitchen prepares standard pub grub. During our visit, my wife and I each slurped on a pint of beer for $6.75 each. The off duty bartender was sitting at the bar with another woman. I couldn't see the off duty woman bartender because of where I was sitting at the bar. A man named Chris was bartender, he was upbeat and fun. I was getting some lip gloss out of my purse and realized I had a small tube of bubbles.So I blew some little bubbles at the bar, and the girl sitting over next to the off duty bartender, very curtly, said to me, no blowing bubbles in the bar. I don't know why she said this to me.And I don't know who she was, but I asked the other bartender Chris if there was some rule against blowing soap bubbles in the bar.And he said not that he knew of and then the off duty bartender lady came over and started yelling at me.And was very rude to me.And said, I told you not to blow bubbles, and it's because I said so. Our first time at here. First of all I like the ambience, everyone is very friendly. Lots of pool tables and dart boards. The bartender and waitress, were very nice. I ordered some food and beer. The food is decent and they have a good selection of beer. All was well till the waitress asked if we needed a box, we said yes. She brought the box and decided to box it for us, she used her HANDS!!!!! we had the sampler plate with lots of left overs and she kept using her hands to move the food from the baskets into the to go box, and then she dipped her pinky in the sauces to taste it and figure out what was what! I was so disgusted I could not believe it. Never had I seen that type of behavior, she broke all kinds of safety regulations. If that is what they are doing in front of customers my stomach clenches at the thought what they are doing in the kitchen while prepping your food! I do not know how they havent been fined by the Health Dept. They really need to make sure their employees are following the safety regulations. read more

I am Dog sitting for friends that are on vacation and not familiar with any establishments in Burien I checked out 1 establishment before Good Time Ernie's and found it to be very unfriendly. I went to Ernie's and the bartender was very friendly and helpful even though she was the only one working at the time. After an hour or so the place filled up while I was playing darts and she handled all of that with great service. A group of people came in, 8 or so, invited me to their table as I was alone. We had a good time. Good atmosphere. I will visit again. read more

During the COVID pandemic, AVOID this place if you have any remote concerns about being infected. Picture a large crowd of very drunk 20 and 30-somethings without masks falling all over each other. Coughing at and laughing inches away from each other's faces while highly hammered. Especially out in the smoking section. And it's telling that if people do not give a rip about others while at this bar , then they are probably doing the same thing elsewhere. So highly likely to be carriers. This is probably the type of environment that led to massive infections in Florida and Texas after things "opened up". Don't be an idiot. think of others. Once they start recognizing you once you walk up to the bar they remember what drink you normally get and start making it for you. They greet you by name and make small talk. Everyone is so friendly even the bar attendees are regulars and everyone says hi to everyone. Most of us dont hang out outside of Ernies. We wanted a bar to watch the first preseason football game of the Oakland Raiders while staying at the Burien Elks on our RV trip to Canada. A local at the Burien Information Center told us about Ernie's beneath the Wizards Casino. We went to the casino about 2 hours before the game and had a beer and then decided to walk around and below the casino and try Ernies. They still had a happy hour ending at 6pm for beer (which the casino bar did NOT) so we had a local IPA small pitcher. People were friendly from the beginning and the fact we wanted to watch the Raiders in Seattle was not a problem (although Seattle had won the previous night and was not on). While we waited for the game for over an hour we decided to have some wings and fries that were great and the hot sauce was good and spicy. They had some specials too and after awhile we had the cheeseburger which was cooked perfect (med-med rare so it had some juices) and onion rings. They put mayonnaise by mistake and took it back right away and cooked a new burger. Everyone from the waitress, the cook and the owner behind the bar made us feel welcome including a regular who sat with us after we were there awhile and told us all about the area. We had a great time and suggest it for any travelers and will come back next time in the area! read more

Let me preface this by saying that I grew up in the Burien/Normandy Park area, so even though this is a 2 star rating, it is up to par with the rest of the old Burien/NP drinking institutions and will still happily visit them on occasion. To start off, the entrance to GTE's is on the backside and basement of the old Azteca restaurant, which is now Wizard's Casino. That should explain enough right there, but let me continue. I came here for a big gathering of friends from the area for a party aptly named "The Burien Bash". GTE's is very spacious and we were all able to find places to sit and hang. They have an outside deck area that looks more like a cage where you would keep a Pit bull, not sit outside for drinks. They also have the obligatory Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, and a few other video games. As for drinks, the Coors Light is cold and Gin & Tonics are plentiful, just don't try to order a Manhattan like me and end up with something that resembles a shot of Aftershock. Overall, this is a fine place if you are from the area and want to get your drink on with all of your friends from the area, but there is no use coming from out of area. read more

I am always happy when I find a good dive bar and was hoping this was going to be one of those that I would be happy with. Not so much. On a game day in a sports bar there was one server for roughly 50 people and she was not up to it. We ordered our drinks at the bar and food through the server which took quite a while and I did not see a lot of food being being served. This place has really cleaned up under the new ownership. For sports fans, there is more TVs than ever, playing sports all week long. They even have a TV over the urinals in one of the bathrooms! The new cook is a major improvement, I've had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and will be going back this wednesday for more. The staff is friendly, and very easy to talk to. One of the downsides is that it's not exactly easy to find if you've never been there, I went around the block twice before calling my friend who was inside. I have been setting up Get Togethers for my co-works for approximately the last year and we have used different venues. We were impressed by the new owners (they have owned GTE for less then 2 years) and their willingness to work with our group. They had tables set up for us in a very pleasing way. Plenty of activies to do and the staff were very accommodating. Then there was the food! They offered 2 "specials" that were extremely well priced and were good. They also offer a full menu of items that make it a delight to eat there. The food is freshly made and portions were generous. After a few attempts to get in this location, I was finally able to come on a slow enough day that allowed me to get a table immediately. This is a place where people come to play pool and also drink, unlike most bars where you drink and also play pool. They have pitchers of pretty standard beer selections, and even mini pitchers if you want to pace yourself a bit more. The tables are pretty good, especially considering they do have quite a big of traffic, and the other equipment makes it clear they value billiards more than others. For the area this is definitely one of the best places to play, but you have to know when to get there or get involved in a league because it is will be unlikely you can go any time and easily find room for a game. The location can be a little difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area, but it is worth the hunt. Would go again and again. read more

This place has many upsides and downsides. They have had their share of trouble including a major assault in their parking lot as another mentioned. Nonetheless it is a great little dive. Plenty of space, a variety of people of all ages and interests and a variety of events that may appeal to anybody who would go to a dive bar! The bar hosts many fundraisers for local beneficiaries, has a reasonable kitchen (better food than most dives), pool, darts, jukebox and occasional live music, plus appropriate parties for important local sports events. This place remains my default joint for going to play pool and hanging with friends, so there's my bias right there. The atmosphere varies from time to time at this bar, only once upon coming here the first time it was a crazy night, flirty drunk chicks, drunken kids you went ot middle school with, and the like. Other times its been pretty low key and we can easily have a game or two going on at our pool table. The food here is reasonably priced and portions are great. Fridays I get a $4.50 burger and fries which is great in taste and easy on the wallet. Only issues I have with the place is that it is a tad bit slummy, having yellow ceiling tiles, and tattered carpets, plus some pool tables tend to jam and sometimes not return your cue ball at times. read more

This is usually our go to spot for our group hangout for decent drinks and pool. There are about 8 pool tables usually full but we almost always get a table. Not the nicest looking place or greatest customer service. Not sure when the kitchen is open but I guess there was a sign that says you have to order your food through the bar because the chef doesn't speak English. Lol. They are getting a lot better with liquor choices. I usually see the same two workers the pretty blonde girl and the guy that wears a baseball cap. Not the friendliest to new people but oh well I still enjoy my time. Sometimes the pool tables malfunction like balls getting stuck so you may have to ask the bartenders for help but on the plus side a game is only .75, there's a DJ music machine where you have to pay for the music you want to hear. Chairs and tables look like they been scrapped up from street corners! Like I said not the prettiest, but then again it is a dive bar. read more
