Nothing too special with their food but their service was outstanding. The burger was juicy, the chicken sandwich was crispy (perfectly cooked) and their fries were nice and crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I like that they give you different sauces to dip your fries in without having to charge you extra. To sum it up, decent food, good service and great beer so we will be back. Wow! I'm so happy that we stopped by this place! We were heading back to Fairwood from a hike at Mt. Rainier National Park and made a turn last minute. My husband I were going to another place near by when we arrive they were closed...so we looked around and found out Hop&Drop did take out. I was surprised they did take out of alcoholic beverages too. Of course I had to order a pineapple drop and a peach tea. The whole experience was great. We went back for dine in a few weeks later on a Friday afternoon and luckily got right in. Covid is making it hard on restaurants but they're making it work. We ordered an appetizer of the Potato Chip Nachos and then we got the BBQ Mac and the Fiesta Mac. Both got side salads also. I ordered the pineapple drop again. This is a great place to come and enjoy a few drinks with good food. The atmosphere is fun and very family friendly. We sat in the bar area and received attentive, friendly service. We visited the outlet in Maple Valley. I was expecting some roadside business in this small town, but was shocked to find it in a ginormous shopping mall. They have nice outdoor seating that is OK with a dog, but it is right next to a busy street. Food and beer selections are typical of a high-end family restaurant. Wait staff were very good. 6/16/2020 Update: Went back in to try HnD again. Didn't want any special favors as that's not my intent and wanted to see if a change was made. I will say that our server Alissa was awesome and was on top of her game. My drink never went empty. The food was on point and I was very pleased to see this as i said in my initial review that we love HnD so I didn't want to give it a bad review. We didn't try the wings again and will in the future, but the food we ate and the service has restored our love of this restaurant and hope it continues to stay this way. Someday we'll muster the guts to try the wings again and hope it pans out. Thank you Darin and HnD staff for doing great work! Update: Darin and i have communicated over this and his persistence to provide good customer service has helped me start to restore my faith back HND. I'm hoping things will be better the next time we go. I find this extremely disappointing as I love hop n drops and DONT reminder this level if price gauging. I ordered wings and expect to receive something around 10-12 wings for a $12.95 price. I was surprised when I opened up the box to find 5.5 wings. Got the prawn tempura and mozzarella sticks for appetizers - both were good but different from conventional fried foods, because of the different type of batter. I ordered the chimichanga and had to send it back because it was super oily and greasy. So of the dough wasn't cooked either so it was not appetizing at all. I ordered a chicken bacon wrap instead, which was better but the chicken was overcooked and dry. Although the staff was really responsive and accommodating the food was really disappointing. This light and lively restaurant and bar is located at the "four corners" in Maple Valley WA. It's a popular place, and we could see why after we entered. Not too loud, not too quiet. Plenty of sports on the flatscreens but it's not overly sports oriented. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Some families with children were there waiting for a table. My daughter just turned 21 so we ate in the bar. She loved the Mac and Cheese and my wife enjoyed her turkey sandwich (which was huge). I had the black and bleu burger which could have tasted a little stronger but it was expertly prepared and tasty. We each tried their "drops" which is their signature cocktail. Highly recommended. Great service! Both the hostess and waiter were very nice and attentive. It's a great place to go with kids as it's not too quiet, but not loud and obnoxious. Very clean! The food was fantastic, especially the french fries and tater tots. The portions are a good size; not too much, but just enough to fill you up plus an extra bite or two. We also saw employees eating which is always a good sign. We will for sure be coming back. Update service is still really good. read more

Myself and a group of my friends and family visited this establishment yesterday. I had been there once before and enjoyed their specialty drinks. This time however the food stole the show!! Hit and miss! Some things are tasty and delicious and others are well mediocre at best. The spicy chicken grilled cheese is top notch, the avocado chicken salad was very meh. FOOD POISONING! I was there this past Saturday having recently moved to Maple Valley. Had the coconut shrimp, fish and chips, and then that turned in to 3 days of food poisoning. I spent all of Saturday night and half of Sunday vomiting. Couldn't even keep plain water down! Called in sick to work Monday and Monday night dinner was my first actual "meal". Writing this review Tuesday morning headed off to work still not feeling right in my stomach. This place seems to be serving a backlog of food they should not be serving. I have always enjoyed Hop Jack's and this is not a complete condemnation of this restaurant. Rather, I went in for their lunch special as I often do and ordered their Half Sandwich & Soup which is always delicious and only $10.25, a great value. Where they lost me was the unsweetened iced tea, 16oz which was 3/4 ice.....for $3.29 + tax. We all know that this is ridiculous that flavored water cost 1/3 of the cost of the meal. Obviously this is intentional and is a price gouge and disappointing. I dont mind paying whatever but I hate being taken advantage of. It's not being petty, it's being heard. We went here for an early dinner yesterday afternoon 05/31. The place was pretty slow when we first arrived by we were the beginning of their dinner rush. It was gorgeous outside so we decded to take advantage of their outdoor seating. Our drink order was taken quickly and we got our first round within just a few minutes. While we were decding on entrees the outdoor patio quickly filled up, we were one of the first two tables but within 20 minutes or so there had to be at least 8 other tables sat. There was only one server outside and he told us that he also had some tables indoors. Everything quickly proved to be too much for the server to handle. He took our order, but we didn't really see him again until we asked for the check. While we waited for our entrees another server came by asking if we wanted refills on our drinks, another beer and wine were ordered, but they never came. About ten minutes later our server quickly stopped by to see if we were ok and we mentioned the other drinks hadn't shown up, he knew nothing about them. I don't think the other server told him we had ordered anything. Food arrived without too much of a wait and it was delicious. We ordered a Western burger, philly cheese steak, french dip, and chicken ceasar salad. It all tasted great, it was a little on the heavy side though. They make their own potato chips that are a definite must try. I would love to go back and try some other entree items. The flavors were spot on for American bar food, and it was all fresh out of the kitchen. Nothing sat too long before being served. When we were ready for the check it took a long time to get the attention of our server. He finally dropped the ckeck and then left for several more minutes even though we were ready to pay. We got our check processed and he had run our card on a different table. The bill was for about $80 but the slip he gave us to sign was only $50. We wanted to be honest so we tracked him down again and told him the problem. He said he would fix it, but didn't return with the correct check for 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile the manager was running around greeting tables, but not addressing any problems. I don't think it is appropriate for a manger to be doing table touches when his staff is clearly in the weeds. There are bigger fish to fry at that point. When the correct check was brought the server could not correctly explain the new total. He had voided/combined checks and re-run the card, but the way he presented it seemed like the card had been charged twice. Meanwhile he had taken a check to the table next to us as well and only charged them $4 for their $50 meal. They brought it to his attention, but were having a hard time getting things taken care of as well. Our server seemed very new and not capable of handling such a large section on his own. In all fairness I am not sure the most veteran of servers could have handled that many tables at once. This place suffered from a lack of organization, communication, and sense of urgency for the guests. The manager should be making sure his place is running smoothly not just schmoozing with guests while the place crumbles around him. read more

I like the really cold taps at the bar. Ice covered risers keep the beer cold. Nice. Cold glasses too. I ordered "The best onion soup you will ever have". I would say it was the worst onion soup I have ever had. Broth had nice flavor but that was it. The bread was in dense chunks that did not come apart when cut with spoon. Little taste. The onion had pieces of skin that was hard. Spat those out. The cheese was in one thick chunk that was hard to split. Left most of the bread. Good onion soup should have pieces of bread dispersed between the cheese. The bread should soak up the broth and fall apart when cut with the spoon. The cheese should be easy to come out in small pieces. No onion skin please. read more
