We came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my sister's birthday and were very impressed overall. The warm bread with oil was a great start, and the loaded potato skins ($13) were delicious even without the ranch. Drinks were solid and fairly priced: a spruce tip golden ale ($6.75), Modelo ($6), margarita ($15), and two glasses of German Riesling ($23). Entrees included chicken Florentine (subbed with shrimp for +$3), chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and fettuccine primavera (with shrimp for +$7). Everything came out hot, seasoned well, and very tasty, though my Florentine was light on spinach. Desserts were a highlight--raspberry cheesecake that was fluffy and creamy with a good crust, and a rich crème brûlée that disappeared quickly. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, set in what feels like an old home. Inside has around 15 tables and can get loud; the staff accommodated our request to move outside to the porch, which turned out to be perfect. Service was friendly, though our server forgot small requests like bread and to-go boxes until later. Prices felt fair, portions were generous, and the menu is well-balanced. My only real nitpicks: no Pinot Noir on the wine list (surprising for the PNW), and the Florentine could use more spinach. Parking is limited to a few street spots or a dirt lot across the way that seemed fine. Bottom line: excellent food, cozy atmosphere, and a great value. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area--and even worth a little road trip. read more

We really enjoyed our first time here - set in a home turned restaurant the setting really has a home town/small town feel. The service was friendly and helpful, despite being very busy - the recommended of the pumpkin cheesecake made the night (it was amazing!!). Delicious dinner last night! I highly recommend Ceasar salad, bacon cheese burger and the chicken parmegiana- chicken topped with mozzarella and tomato sauce. Went to this little gem of an Italian restaurant in Black Diamond. The first restaurant we truly enjoyed in the MV-BD area. Appetizers: We ordered the Crispy Calamari and the Chicken wings. Calamari along with its dipping sauce was yummy. Wings weren't the best, a little dry but the kids enjoyed it. Definitely order the Calamari! They served us garlic bread which was nice while we waited for food. Entrees: Our party of 5 tried the Chicken Florentine, shrimp scampi, spaghetti and meatballs, the Caesar salad and the chopped salad. The grilled chicken breast on the salads were so well seasoned and char-grilled. The Italian dressing on the chopped salad was yummy too. The spaghetti and meatballs were very tasty didn't feel like the sauce came from a bottle. While I didn't try the rest, we all enjoyed the food thoroughly. Pasta portions are huge too! The shrimp scampi doesn't come with pasta like at other Italian chains. Desserts: The best part of the meal...... The tiramisu.... Don't ever enter and not order this! This place isn't stingy with the dessert portions. It can be easily shared. It's a tiny place but very cozy and extremely friendly staff! Will definitely be back! read more

Also a special place for us since this is where we ate after our civil marriage ceremony. They give you complimentary garlic bread, they are always so fresh and warm and delicious. We've gotten a couple appetizers (fried calamari and bruschetta) and they were always delicious and fresh! For our main course, we've gotten a variety of items and I can say it's always delicious. Great dinner with a group of 5. The front of house staff really made our Christmas eve dinner special. We walked in without reservation and waited around 20minutes to be sat. Our server was kind and friendly and we weren't rushed out the door, able to enjoy our meal with family. Large portions and tasty food. The bruschetta was a particular hit with our group, and you can't go wrong with parmesan brussels. Chicken picatta and parmesan were both greatly enjoyed. I visited Black Diamond Grill on Sunday night with friends, and the experience was fantastic! We were seated right away around 6pm. The server was very friendly and offered us small tastings of the bottled wines we were interested in before we committed to one for the evening. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved my angel hair Margherite. There were great tomato and garlic flavors, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My fiancé ordered the cowboy steak with shrimp, which came with mashed potatoes and veggies. His steak was cooked just as requested. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, which was sweeter than most tiramisus we had in the past, but it was one of my favorites. The texture was perfect. So, we were on our way to another local establishment, and saw the lights on in this super cute cottage style restaurant...and I immediately yelped it and went in with my husband and my youngest son to enjoy a nice dinner. First, we were greeted and seated immediately, and ran into an acquaintance that raved about the "bread before dinner" I didn't know what she was talking about until we got it...a plate of the yummiest soft bread drowning in a garlic butter. My husband and I split the pear & Gorgonzola ravioli and the margarita pizza. The ravioli was a generous portion AND the creamy sauce had the perfect amount of Gorgonzola...not too overpowering...and tiny little bites of sweet fresh pear. It was DEVINE! If we were at home...I may have licked the bowl clean, lol. The margarita pizza was good too. We asked for no red sauce as the last couple times we got a margarita pizza at other places, it had an overbearing amount of red sauce. So we specifically asked for an olive oil base...which was good...but I'm wondering how it would've been with their red sauce. Next time Overall, this place js a HIDDEN GEM We never seem to venture out of our local area, and there is NOTHING special about any of the places to eat around here. I'm so happy we went to black diamond and discovered this place. Jessica's, our server, was an absolute sweetheart! And she explained that the owner & his wife (Rudy & Daisy) actually live upstairs in this adorable cottage. Jessica's explained that both of them work in the kitchen and behind the scenes...I love that! You can tell how much they love this place with the amount of love they put into their food! I don't really even want to post this review, as I'm worried about everyone finding out about it, lol. I want to keep it my little secret. Still 5 stars! Arrived at 5:00'for Friday night dinner and wished we had arrived when they opened at 4:00. Seats only 49, so by 5:30'when all tables were filled and people were all into the drinks and kids were happy to be out, it was noisy. Sitting in the center of it all made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Fortunately the food and service compensated. Chicken Parmigiana and Fresh Salmon entrees were what one expects. We went in for dinner for a birthday celebration and the service was terrible . It took forever for server to take our order then she never brought our appetizer. She also never bothered to ask how our meal was once we had our main entrees , and she brought our check when we were finished and never bothered to ask about dessert. Never coming back! Also the salmon option is farmed salmon . The server did not know when I asked when she was taking my order but went back to kitchen and asked. With the availability of wild salmon why are they using farmed? I ended up with salad that was mediocre at best. read more

This place is a newer place that will soon be in the cute residential and marketing area of the up and coming Black Diamond and it is definitely a great small business to eat at!! We absolutely loved everything we got. They do have a very selective menu but I promise you will not be disappointed by anything you get. I did think it was weird at first that they served burgers, but I ordered a burger and it was amazing. Honestly one of the best burgers I had. The meat was nice and thick with lots of bacon, cheese, fried onions (kind of like onion rings), and some really good special sauce they had. I did get it without the lettuce, tomato and Mayo but it was super good. Everyone else got their own personal sized pizza. They were perfect for 1-2 people or to have left overs, while everyone just ate the whole thing. You can customize the pizza however you like and they also have premade options. They also have pizzas you can order for multiple family home. Definitely stop by if you go or live in the area. And yes, it is take out only. read more

Regret couldn't take leftovers as was leaving for a trip without refrigeration, will just have to come back Others had steaks and lemon caper chicken dishes, everyone was equally amazed! The owner himself came to our group tableand spent a few minutes talking to us after closing. While this is in a touristy town this isn't a touristy or run down place, they take great pride in their business, and more importantly, their family above all. They opened within the last two years, which is a feat in and of itself.
